I was about to post that some people will still want to go there only to find someone asking for details on how to get a visa. Let us not rest on our oars about this issue. We should keep enlightening people about the dangers. Guardian newspapers should be made to carry a warning on all adverts by agents looking to help people gain admission in Ukraine. If someone then decides to go, we can freely say "good riddance to bad rubbish" because we know that person doesn't deserve to live with us and has chosen not to even though we begged them to stay with us..

The media team also visited the outer Northern expressway Lot 1 & 2.
It is a 10 lane expansion road project covering over 20.3 km length.
The project was awarded in 2009 and has reached 85% completion under the Jonathan administration.
what does that mean? Yar'adua started it but didn't live to see its completion, the present government ought to have completed it last year but still haven't so why are they taking credit for not completing a project on schedule?

Travel › Canada Prepares To Open Its Doors by dustydee(op): 10:49pm On Sep 11, 2012
Earlier this year, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) announced a temporary pause to its Federal Skilled Worker program while they reviewed the selection criteria to ensure a faster, more efficient immigration system.
Since then, they’ve been busy running consultations with the public, businesses and local stakeholders to get their input into proposed changes.
Finally, on 17 August, Citizenship and Immigration Canada unveiled their proposed changes, designed to allow Canada to better select workers who can “hit the ground running” upon arrival.
SO WHAT’S CHANGED?*

Applicants under the Federal Skilled Worker Program are assessed against a points grid which awards a maximum of 100 points. The pass mark is 67 points. The following changes to the points grid are proposed:
Language
Language is now the most important factor on the grid – the weight of the first official language would be significantly increased from 16 to 24 points while the weight of the second official language would be reduced from eight to four points.
Age
The proposal will favour younger applicants by awarding a maximum of 12 points (currently the maximum is 10 points) for applicants aged 18 to 35, but reducing one point for every year after 35.
Work experience
The total number of points for work experience will decrease from 21 to 15, yet to achieve full points for work experience, they’ve increased the years of experience required. Previously it was four years, it will now be six years.
Education
Education points will be awarded based on an assessment of foreign education credentials and what the Canadian equivalent would be. CIC will not accept credentials that don’t exist in Canada or ones that aren’t comparable to a completed Canadian credential. The maximum points available will remain at 25.
Adaptability
The proposal will change the adaptability criteria to emphasise factors that are shown to have positive impacts on an immigrant’s economic and social integration. This includes points being awarded for spousal language ability and previous Canadian work experience.
NEXT STEPS

Final publication of the new (and hopefully improved) Federal Skilled Worker Program is scheduled for late 2012 while the new FSWP points grid is due to take effect in January 2013. Applications are expected to be accepted again in early 2013. You can read the whole text of the proposed changes at the Canada Gazette.
*Bear in mind that this is just a proposal and may be still subject to change.

jamp: Patience Jonathan is expected back in the country before the end of September ahead of Nigeria’s 52nd Independence anniversary.

Patience is said to be hospitalised at the Horst Schmidt Klinik in Wiesbaden, Germany.

While a section of the media said she underwent surgery for appendicitis, some others said she was being treated for food poisoning.

Amidst the conflicting reports however, her media aides insisted that she only travelled abroad to rest after the stress involved in the hosting of the African First Ladies’ Conference in Abuja.

They also insisted last week that they did not know when the President’s wife would return to Nigeria.

Her media aide, Ayo Osinlu, had told our correspondent. “She is not a regular public office holder who has a specific duration for vacation. Assuming that she has a specific duration for vacation, then we could have said the vacation will end on a particular day and she will return on a particular day.

“But as it is, she can decide to return anytime she feels she has rested enough.”

In addition, the church member who bought the land, according to our source also smelled fowl play because Rich refused to have his wife’s signature on the land receipt neither did he even inform any of her family member claiming that he’s the husband and has the right to sell her land. This, we learnt informed the church member’s interest to investigate the actual cause of Rich’s wife death.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Issues In Dangote’s Graduate Drivers Scheme By Jarus by dustydee: 3:14pm On Aug 22, 2012
andyanders: What I keep asking here is, why should we not consider the state of our roads nationwide and the safety of the hazardous job you want to expose these young graduates? Have we not known that these our roads are death traps? Why must one come out and be given a job he or she does not want because he/she is hungry and must carry these trucks to die on our highways? Have we considered that our security system here is a complete failure in that these guys will be at the mercy of the armed robbers?

If you drive a truck outside the shores of this country like USA, you stand a chance of making good use of your time since they have time to operate as trucks are allowed to start operation by 10pm and exit out of the roads by 6am. Now, just take a look at our roads here and tell me the roads that are safe and you want a graduate after suffering to go to school to be exposed to dangers without any form of security. In as much as we appreciate Dangote's gesture to the youths, he should have employed them as marketers, than truck drivers. Creating employment for the youths should be seen as nation building and not a proposal for one's death.
The state of our roads should be a source of concern for everybody irrespective of who uses them. Are you suggesting that the life of a graduate is more sacred than that of a non-graduate?. In any case the non graduates can still kill graduates on the same road if they are not fixed.

Politics › Re: S’east, S’west, S’south Divided Over Indigene/settler Clause by dustydee: 9:28pm On Aug 19, 2012
It is, in my opinion, the South that is not as tolerant as some parts of the North. For example, in my state (NIger) and some states in the North, there are people from different parts of the country that work in the state civil service which is virtually impossible in the south except for Lagos and probably a few south east states. The SS I am pretty sure will not allow me to work in their civil service even if I was born there.

belovekiss: Thanks you all for the advice, i am grateful to have read all your comment this morning....well i do sell new cloths and shoes frm Europe, but i am suspectin the area of the business though, cuz most people price too cheap when buying frm my store.....this is hard decision for me to make, because i put all my heart in traveling already but to be ban 10yrs n fake document, worth rethinking........he told me he has be doing it for many people and they enter successful into Uk...... MY MAIN REASON, of relocating to Europe is because i am afraid of nothing last forever in naija here, i mean is like, i am just doing business for daily living, like, i get little profit for food, house rent, transportation, e.t.c i am not seeing more in my bank account, so i am wonderin how long will i continue to be doing this, cuz i want to have more money to build my dream house, and i thought maybe i might get chance in Europe of making more money..BUT NOW, i am thinking my decision to go Europe is wrong.
Nobody is saying you should not go to Europe but do not fall into the hands of a fraudster. You can lose your money and get 10 years ban
2. You will not be able to work legally as you are not entitled to work on a tourist visa.
3. there is no guarantee that you will make it in Europe as I believe you won't be going for a professional job.
just invest that money in your business and when you are settled you can travel for holidays
Travel › Re: 800k Uk Visa...agent. by dustydee: 9:38pm On Aug 17, 2012
This smells like scam. With that amount you can apply for a visa yourself. They can submit fake documents for you which will earn you an automatic 10yr ban plus you lose your money.

@all,
The topic is about Nigerians having good jobs in the UK. Nowhere does it say anyone should compare with those in Nigeria.
@Tmany, life does not consist of that. You can own a house and not have peace. They may not have a house in the UK but have back home. I am of the opinion that it is easier to own a house here than back home even if one has to pay monthly. Of the 170million Nigerians, how many own their own houses?

I am due to finish my masters end of this month and already have an offer from an engineering firm, I also know someone who will finish this month and also has an offer with an IOC. A classmate will also start with an engineering firm when our results are ready. I know someone in my church here who had 2 offers, one being with and oil servicing company. The oil servicing company had to almost double his sign-on bonus to make him join them. There are jobs and there are people looking for jobs too. If you pray and do your part diligently, God will show up. Do you know that companies like Accenture, PWC and other consulting firms are still looking to fill their 2012 quota? Yet they haven't found the right candidates to fill those positions. for those saying there are no jobs please check job boards and you will still see vacancies that are open even though now is not the time most companies recruit-they are simply open because they have been unable to fill those positions.
