Ijaw people have deceived the entire Nigerians for decades. How did they manage to make over 100m people believe that Anna Pepple was Ijaw.
Chai, ignorance is a disease
They successfully achieved that decades of lies because the Igbos after the war became afraid to challenge the revisions due to fear of not to being seen in the bad books of the northern led federal government. Remember the Igbos just came out of the civil war and had to remain civil in order to be accepted fully.

However, we owe it to our generation to keep using facts and historical evidence to burst these lies of Ijo ownership of Bonny and Opobo. Igbos founded and owned these communities. However, the coming of the Ijo migrants who were first brought in by the Portuguese and later Dutch sailors change a lot. Bonny, Opobo, Kalabari and Okrika which were Igbo lands embraced Ijo culture. While the language of Kalabari changed to Ijo, Okrika was altered to a great degree. But Bonny and Opobo with roots from Ndoki kept her language and origin, and embraced Ijo culture which was the dominant culture in the Niger-Delta creeks as at then.

I hope that Eastlink clown is reading this grin
Even before Tonye aka Allen made his comment, I’ve already told the thread that Ada George becoming Governor and the abandoned property to which Okrika and Ikwerre shared are the things Okrika benefitted from Ijo. I didn't really go deep until now that you mentioned Tonye’s comment. However, in that benefit brought bad division among the Okrika caused by the Ijos.

Okrika for one is a multi-cultural and multi-lingual tribe of Igbo and Ijo but united by the Ogan Kingship. And Ogan themselves are Igbo originated just like Amakiri. However, Okrika population was swelled by Ijos.

Now Okrika had no business being dragged by Ijos into both her powergrab and landgrab shenanigans during and after the civil war. But they finally became the group Ijo used to claim part-ownership of Port Harcourt and domination of old Rivers politics.

Aside from benetting the most from Ijo rulership, it was also in Okrikaland Ijo cemented their headquarters, but it was altered as Isaac Boro died in Ogu Bolo in the hands of Black Scopion, leaving that mandate to young Diette-Spiff to handle.

So aside from elevating Ada George as Governor, the following are the benefits of Ijo support on Okrika.

1. Introduction of cultism culture to Okrika land just as they elevated in Ikwerre. Dey Bam and Dey Well is a street cultist slang originating from Okrika.

2. Entrenchment of huge division and brother hating brother in Okrika land.

3. The Tuboniju and Kalonju caste that is tearing Okrika today was Ijo gift.

4. The chieftaincy crisis and betrayal syndrome in Okrika are another gifts from Ijo help.

5. Okrika land is notorious for blood spill by brothers against brothers. Infact people die more during election period in Okrika land than any time.

6. The hatred by Okrikans on Kalabari is still Ijo gift. Although Kalabari had always had a penchant to subdue her neighbours in olden days time all for trade monopoly, the modern era renewed that rivalry as Ijo backed Okrika over Kalabari due to the later’s pro-Igbo support during the NCNC eastern region days. Kalabari was even against Isaac Boro and Biriye’a NDC but faced much hostilities from the two group when the federal troops conquered their land. That's why an Okrika man will rather die than support Kalabari for Governor or even those from Bonny. Their attitude of only us in the Riverine must be Governor have made them to consistently sell the rights of the Riverine communities to the Ikwerre.

Onugbu is cooked with ede and we all know you guys don't know how to begin to cook Onugbu...Onugbu is Anambra kponkwem due to ede.

Anambra never used to cook ji mmili oku....its Imo and Abia culture. We feed our nursing mother's ofe nsala which we use yam as thickner. Everybody knows Imo love watery soup like your ofeowerri. Anambra people are famous for our thick soups.

Of course , you know we own ofe akwu , nkwobi and isi ewu.

My wife is constantly teaching Imo and Abia women how to cook " ofe Anambra" according to them. That's how I know you guys don't eat what we eat.....lol

Imo and Abia cook ofe Owerri, Ukazi and Utazi....i have two Anambra guys who married to Imo ladies and usually mock their wives Imo soup.

Uziza might be rare in our areas but we will always cook our food the Anambra way. We don't cook ofe Owerri or Ukazi soup because we don't fancy them....every Igbo mama put cook Anambra soups.

You don't have to drag everything, bro. Give Anambra some credit .... We are blessed people in many ways which all Igbo gain from.

Imagine the boast. How many communities in Omanbala cook soup with Cocoyam? Even the Uziza leave does not grow in that axis. Maybe you are mistaken Nsala soup from pepper soup called Ji miri oku given to pregnant women. Yam pepper soup is what pregnant women eat not Cocoyam.

Now listen.
Ofe Ede
Ofe Oha
And Ofe Nsala are mainly cooked from Ikwerre, Aba to Orlu up to Anambra south. Nsala is even celebrated in Orratta as a festival.

The soup that dominates Omanbala is Ofe Onugbu. Oha and Uziza leaves and seeds are rare in Omanbala/Aguleri.

King Pepple a great leader of Bonny was revered by the English sailors he traded with. In fact it was recorded that he grew up partly in England, and when he became King was given princely regards by the British monarchy.

King Pepple himself was of Igbo origin and had already informed a few Journalist that both himself and his people originated from Igboland. However, the goal of this thread is to prove that Pepple was gotten from Pepper and not Perekule as claimed by the Ijaws.

Everything about Jaja was Igbo. Both the buyer and the seller.

Read towards the end of the report from the British slave trader Captain Hugh Crow of Liverpool that witnessed everything.

I quote "The King of the new Calabar, in the neighbourhood, and PEPPLE, King of Bonny, were both Eboe"
You’re right. New Calabar is Kalabari which was led by Amakiri (Amachree) another King with Igbo origin. Pepple, the King of Bonny got his name from Pepper. Pepper in a British journal I read online explained his Igbo origin as well as that of his People to a Journalist.

The aim of this evidence to to burst the lies that Pepple went by the fraudulent Ijaw name Perekule. Bonny indigenes were the first Nigerians to live as citizens in England. King Pepple was even brought up in England and was given princely respect by the whites.

Now let's compare Oga Joe and Abaribe. Why Joe has never held any position in the SE, Abaribe the pretender has held multiple positions since 1999 with nothing to show for it. The only time I remember Abaribe exist is when the topic is about Fulani herdsmen or Buhari in the senate. Or when he put’s on his fake smile and poses for picture with Okezie Ikpeazu both wearing their Onye Dot polo.

Joe only sin is simply acting foolish during his days as APC spokesman Lagos. He might have said a lot of trash talk which didn't go well with many of us. Hey, the BIAFRA War was a confrontation between the Igbos and the world..Ijaw used the opportunity to lay claim to independent cities like Opobo, Bonny, Okrika and Kalabari.
You think IGBO people will fold their hands and allow Ijaw of Bayelsa to claim ownership of Bonny and Opobo when History indicated they were Igbos including their kings?
Not possible bro...
Ijaw should focus on Bayelsa State, a state created for them.. Opobo and Bonny should be independent Cities or referendum to be carried out to determine where they will belong
Only these groups should decide where they belong. Currently both fall under one ethnic group in Rivers state. Bonny call themselves Ibani while Opobo call themselves Ubani. And recently some of their indigenes have gone ahead to add Ndoki into that ethnic tripod. Ndoki might agree to other things but are cautious by the posturing of the hands of Esau but the voice of Jacob. The voice here is Ijaw backers from INC/IYC. And this began recently during the militancy period of Yar’adua/GEJ administration. A lot of juicy amnesty and ministry of Niger-Delta funds is being used by the Ijaws to expand their influence in the psyche of these people. And it's working as most of them are told what to do in INC gathering. Like the fake tales of Kolokuma-Opokuma origin. The IYC tells them that Igbo is foreign to them and that Finima Ibani-Egere is their native tongue. INC moles have infiltrated their Facebook groups, telling them to reinforce their Ijaw identity. For instance a lot of them are now told that the Isalachi and Ibolachi greeting is Igbo and should be stopped. Those with Igbo names are told to changed them to Ijaw names. The INC is using her IYC to target the youthful generation. And they seem to be falling for it. Most especially those from Bonny.

The Igbo contact that King Dandeson had kick-started through coming to the annual Ahajioku festival seems to have died down as Ohaneze-Ndigbo and other eastern organization seems to be clownish these days. Since Chinua Achebe died, the conference stopped functioning. You don't expect King Dandeson and King Pepple of Bonny to be trying to reconnect back to their roots by sending emissaries to Ahiajoku festivals each time while you don't play your part to counter the tactics of INC.

This might be partly blamed on IPOB. Why you might be suprised? Ever since the rise of Nnamdi Kanu a lot of functional Igbo cultural organizations died. Aka-Ikenga which was prominent in the South-South died and a few other organizations. That because IPOB deliberately distracted all efforts to build up on what was started by notable elders by continue her naked dance in public. IPOB brainwashed a lot of folks into Judaism and other shallow-minded dogmas like Arochukwu’s Chukwu Okike Abiama.

Uneducated historians who formed IPOB intelligentsia followed the part of Kanu the dropout to dish out two wrapper tales and fake Ubiaja gutter stories to landgrab those with no iota of Igbo links into a multi-ethnic Biafra. And they are other burning issues to talk about no one seems interested in except Biafra tales by moonlight stories.

What stops the Igbos from using their platforms to gerrymander like the INC/IYC? Ohaneze youth seems to be a PDP arm with no direction than to collect bribes from politicians. What stops Igbos from going back to the drawing board and re strategize like the Great Benin Descendants and the Igala folks are doing.

If a strong pro-Igbo platform is set up, one that can spread her tentacles into areas with Igbo roots a lot will change. Not preaching Biafra online or any crap by IPOB, but Igbo values, identity and history.

Nationalistic Igbos can actually create a strong Igbo National Congress or revive the Igbo State Union group for this purpose. Give elective positions to those in Opobo and Bonny positions in Igbo cultural organizations. Continue the Ahajioku festival by sending invitations to both Kingdoms, and also send your own emissary to visit these people during their own Nwaottam festival.

During elections in Rivers state, quit the Ikwerre non-interest voting stupidity. A lot of us have Igbo roots and need support not just the Ikwerre. Support the candidacy of a Dakuku Peterside or anyone who identifies with you and tell your town unions to educate their members to go all out to cast their vote with such person. These are the ways to go about it, rather than allowing clowns to distract you in burning issues that needs your attention in present Nigeria.

IPOB is a distraction
MASSOB is a distraction
Biafra is a distraction
Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa and other future clowns are distractions.
Your focus should be the issues that your race face in Nigeria, providing solution to solving them is a great way to show you’re aware of these things, instead of making noise online.

There are so many things that goes under the bridge that the scam cry for Biafra has blinded a lot of you from seeing. The earlier you lots open you blind eyes from one-way sentimental direction the better. I should not be giving you guys all these tips, but something it pains me to see that the smartest Igbos died before 1999.

First let me thank you for remaining calm and civil unlike most supporters and sympathizers of IPOB.

As someone who is well read, you ought to have known that;

1) There was never an Igbo Empire/Kingdom/Republic before 1914 that included or exercise sovereignity over Opobo and Ibani, so at what point do these cities becomes Igbo cities?

2) These cities don't share boundaries with other igbo towns/cities. It's just like Ghana trying to lay claims to Badagry!

3) There is no way, igbos can just move into these coastal cities , trying to chase away the present Indigenes and rulers of these cities and annex these cities without causing problems and drawing the attention of Nations and Governments beyond the region.
It will cast the Igbos in the mould of the aggressor and Invaders which will be counter productive in the long run similar to the 1990 attempts by Saddam Hussain led Iraq to annex Kuwait which caused the Gulf War-1.
I appreciate your civilily and decorum as well. Maybe a drink or two would be needed in a lush bar on a Sunday in Victoria Island to discuss such exponential matters. Just joking.

But in fairness, Igbos are not known to be empire builders or expansionist. If by chance anyone is claiming lands not native to us, check clearly many of them might be misinformed.

For Opobo and Bonny, they were both independent city-states. Both with Igbo and Ijo heritage. Igbo origin and language and Ijo cultured. The early colonial historians had written so much about these groups that even Kenneth Dike who was the first indigenous Nigerian historian wrote his first book about the Niger-Delta states. GI Jones a British expanded on these facts and maintained the same thing — Ndoki-Igbo origin and language but Ijo cultured. Even when the Ijo sponsored revisionist by name Prof. Alagoa tried to change the Bonny/Opobo Ndoki origin by improvising an Ijaw origin, GI Jones sent in an academic rebuttal from London, to which Alagoa had to edit in a later version but this time claiming a reverse migration from Opokuma-Kolokuma to Ndoki.

Any wonder the Igbo-led Eastern region maintained the status quo and their independence by not enforcing any change or land grabbing them into the Igbo ethnic group. The Ibani or Ubani (Both Bonny and Opobo) kept their unique identity until the onslaught by the 52 brigade headed by the late Major Isaac Boro. Genocide and killings was recorded in both Bonny and Opobo and a host of other riverine communities like Kalabari, Andoni, Yeangoa etc. But the likes of Bonny and Opobo got it worst after which they were forcefully made to become Ijaws by threats. Funny enough after the changes were made, the land grabbers still failed to make the people to stop speaking their language. Despite several attempt to set up Finima-Ijaw language (which they called Ibani Egere) in schools, making it compulsory in Bonny and Opobo it still failed.

That singular incident of both Boro and the Ijo rulers of Old Rivers state kept them at daggers drawn with the Igbos and at the appropriate time, it will all be revisited. Currently, the Ijo landgrabbers who carried out that act are now in Bayelsa giving a lot of folks a breather in Rivers state.

Ojukwu who studied History at Oxford University and was a District Officer in the colonial Administration (The equivalent of LGA chairman in the present arrangements ) beforen joining the Military knew better than you.

On what basis will Ojukwu be taking over supposedly 'Igbo territories in Delta, Kogi, Benue, Rivers'? Was he also the Governor of these areas.

It's far easier to dilineate territories for a people based on Geographical landmarks e.g Rivers, Mountains, Gullies and Valleys than trying to create a country for them based on acclaimed historical ethnic homelands because it's difficult to say where the lands of of ethnic group start and the lands of another ethnic group stop. There are always areas of ethnic overlaps that may not be easy and straight forward to resolve.

Byzantium (now Istanbul, Turkey), Cyprus, Smyna, Thessaloniki and Macedonia used to be Greek Territories but today aren't parts of Greece.

The attempts by Adolf Hitler to annex all lands where he thinks German people lived was the primary cause of the WW-2.

Today, German people are in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Leichtenstein and at least 3 other European countries
Ojukwu might have studied classical history but he didn't apply the practical aspect of it during the Biafran war. Gowon who didn't study history had the upper hand than Ojukwu because he took the advise of those who understood better than him. So studying history changes nothing if you don't apply it when it matters most.

To reply you on the points you made. First, the Greek conquered lands and people during the Hellenic period. And so those lands you mentioned many of them were independent ethnic groups who got annexed by another bigger wolf “Ottoman” now Turkey.

Germans on the other hand were never in one territory. Germania was the name the Romans gave to the barbarians who lived in that axis, and after the fall of Rome, there was a free for all landgrab by groups like the Frankish kingdom began by Clovis, the Huns headed by Atila, the Saxons, the Vikings, the Anglo who moved to take Britannia, and the successors of the Franks who apportioned much of present France and some part of Briton, Luxembourg, Italia and Austria to themselves under the holy roman empire headed by Charlemagne but which continued with Kings from Austria.

So Hitler trying to form or revive a single country for old Germania was a dream similar to the Italians trying to revive the Roman empire. Such dream by Hitler would alter the balance of power in Europe. Because there's no way you’ll annex Austria who had already enjoyed statehood, first as the successors of the Holy Roman Empire and second as the Austro-Hungarian empire ruling most of Eastern Europe before the existence of the German Reich. Or Hungary who existed before Hitler. Holland another old Germanic tribe that had formed a single identity called Dutch. Or by annexing some part of France who were rightly Germanic tribesmen as well.

Had Hitler kept to the unified Germany began by Otto Von Bismarck, rather than expand it no mans land, no one who think of dividing them into east or west after their defeat by the allied forces and Russia.

So your analysis on Igbos is faulty. Ndigbo have no agenda to gather the YEAI groups in the south and middle-belt to form one identity that will be similar to Hitlers landgrab. Ndigbo unlike the Ijo landgrabbers know their territories and are not willing to let them go, whether in Nigeria or in the apocalypse.

Bros, we are in 2021 in case you aren't aware sir.

Right now, the Referendum for Biafra will NOT hold in any part of Rivers State.

The Governor and the elders of Rivers State have dissociated themselves from Biafra.

You will be deceiving yourself if you think that you will jump Imo-Rivers boundaries and over so many non-Igbo territories to Opobo which is the most Southern point of Rivers State to claim the city.
No one is talking about Biafra here. Biafra for one is not an Igbo idea as it didn't include Igbos in Benue, Kogi, Delta, and Edo. It's was mainly an eastern region affair as Ojukwu didn't see the bigger picture and ceded Igbo territories outside the east all in a bid to sit tight as Governor. Records of how he created the puppet Republic of Benin with Igbo territories still there and how he abandoned Igbos in Kogi and Benue to their fate in the north. So when Ijaws, Benin, and Igala began grabbing Igbo lands in their domain with fraudulent revisions, most Igbo elders kept mute as Ojukwu had already ceded them all for his egoistic power play with Gowon.

So Biafra as far as many of us are concerned is dead and buried. The carcass of Biafra is now the food of the lowest rungs of the society. Touts, thugs, cultists, never-do-wells, and failures who seek a way to escape from explaining to their Umunna why they failed as men. Some of them spent years in London with nothing to write home about, before setting up an IPOB company to scam the illiterate maga’s in the South East. You can call these men hyenas or vultures na you sabi.

But in this new dispensation, our focus is playing politics the right way in Nigeria. Get allies just like others are doing. But if peradventure the worst happens to Nigeria, the plan B is never dead Biafra but republic of Igboland, Ikenga republic or any name that identifies with our roots. And that includes every inch, none will be ceded to any tribe. If you observe, you’ll see that many Igbos aren't looking for brotherhood where there is none. All the places most Igbos are challenging have historical documents from antiquity, with backed-up linguistic evidences that even if we go to ICJ, we’ll win the case. But going to ICJ won't suffice because the matter is too less and can be solved with wisdom.

Igbos know their territories and anyone that wants to steal them should ready themselves for hundreds of years of hostilities. That one is guaranteed. The only thing that will bring peace is if everyone focuses on what is ancestrally and natively theirs.

For Bonny & Opobo only them will decide their fate. Their Kings and citizens. Not by INC or Ijo gangsterism which happened with the aid threats and genocide of the indigenes by land grabbing Isaac Boro. This time the story will be different.

No need continuing this conversation with you. Ebonyi State was part of old Anambra before Abacha carved it out in 1996. The present status of the state is not bad. No Igbo is more or inferior than the other. We speak one language, culture and identity—IGBO.
God bless NDIGBO.
God bless S/EAST.
God bless MAZI NNAMDI KANU.
That’s how it should be

You don't win war just because you have population but you win wars because you have SUPERIOR ADVANTAGES over your opponents. These superior advantages may include economic power, Superior Technology, population, Favourable geographical factors like access to the Sea and International land borders and above all, DEPENDABLE ALLIES.

If Igbo Republic tries to invade Ijaw Republic in it's attempt to gain coastal territories, think of the possible superior advantages that both sides may have.
Coastal control you mean? Lol! What can Ijaw republic give to Bonny that they lack? Absolutely nothing. I bet you no shot will be fired. Bonny and Opobo will gladly cede themselves to Igbo republic as well as other communities in present riverine Rivers state. This I know first hand.

If you may know, Bonny, Opobo and Elem Kalabari became the dominate ports in the pre-colonial era taking over from Calabar because of her strong ancestral links with Igboland. Their sustenance which began from salt sales to the slave trade and then to palm oil was basically due to business dealings with the hinterland, not by fish sales with Izon boat gypsy’s. And in post Nigeria, the trio will want that economic interest to continue knowing that the benefits outweigh drinking ogogoro with sea dwellers.

Besides the economic benefits of being the sole axis for export and import of goods, the communities will benefit from the numerous gas pipelines from the eastern corridor of which Bonny LNG will need to be sustainable.
