CelebritiesRe: Tiwa Savage's Marriage Crash: A Lesson To All Men by edogu(m):
nashito:
It is evident now that the crash of Tiwa's wedding is somehow as a result of infidelity, trust issues and insecurity. From the recent activities of Tiwa Savage, we can somehow deduce that TeeBliz was right regarding the accusations against Tiwa.

However, the lesson we must all learn from the crash as men are numerous, but let me shorten it;

(1) HELPING A WOMAN TO THE TOP OF HER CAREERS:

I have often wondered why some men refused to let their woman rise to the very top, it is very simple here. When a woman rises to the top, they tend to forget the ladder through which they climbed to the very top, this is not same case with men. A man will always remain very loyal to the that person who showed him the way to the top. Same cannot be said of women. Most times. Putting ourselves in someone's shoes helps, let's assume TeeBliz takes all that shits we were made to believe, but the question that comes to mind is, does it mean Tiwa wasn't aware of his habits before they got married? If it was Tiwa's habit, Do we really think TeeBliz will divorce her for the same reason?
Women are naturally not loyal to men especially when you stop paying the bills.

(2) With the manner in which Tiwa has carried herself lately. I want to ask all men this simple question; regardless of her career, can you marry such a wife? With all those crazy, ripped off, half naked dresses etchuh Before you answer that, take a deep breath and think first. While dating, we all love this crazy girl who's always sexy and all that, but this is marriage, Men can you really do that? Lesson learn, don't Marry someone who's career is not suitable to your kinda person.

(3) Finally, As a man. DO NOT sacrifice your own career and future ambitions for any Nigerian lady, they are not worth it, they all have short memories. I know they are few good ones out there. But never you ever sacrifice your life for anyone's career. We should all remember Teebliz for what he did and not what we were told. He picked up Tiwa and put her in the pinnacle of her career, what did he get in return? Nothing.

This is a big lesson for all ambitions men out there. I am not saying you should restrict that woman from being who she wants to be. Just don't sacrifice yours for her.
Thank you. Still your boy Nash.
When you marry right, you won't experience all these issues. I have seen men who empowered their wife yet they didn't get disappointed by the women they choosed to marry. I have also seen men who empowered their fellow men yet they got disappointed ( This instance is peculiar to Nigerian politicans). My point? When you do your assignment very well, you won't be disappointed. Again, like you pointed earlier, while it's good to empower your wife, make sure you empower yourself too. It should'nt be a one sided affair. Perhaps, Tiwa's former husband allowed himself to be overshadowed by his ex success. My 2cent!

GeeString:
I won't go into any long sermon on this I'll just speak from personal experience.

No Nigerian woman is worth the trouble ahead. Infidelity is a serious Nigerian girl issue and it won't leave after marriage rather it will only get worse since her lifelong ambition has been fulfilled and she is now at peace.

Nigerian girls are materialistic and selfish. They do not truly understand the term "love".

Every Nigerian girl 25 & above has engaged in prostitution of some sort be it openly or 'coded'. There are corporate oloshos now sef. By prostitution I mean sleeping with a man for financial gain.

They are just not worth it.

I seriously doubt if I'll ever get married to a Nigerian girl. I'll have two kids from 2 different women & that's it.

Quote me & bash me but kindly produce counter-points or disprove my points while you do so. Oh & lest I forget I have no sisters & my mom is late too.

Goodnight.
Are you married?
PoliticsRe: Filthy Lagos In Pictures: What Every Part Of Lagos Now Have In Common by edogu(m): 5:14pm On Mar 19, 2018
There's no state or nation without its own peculiar challenges, and that of Lagos shouldn't be different. Even Port Harcourt at one time had the same issue as regard to managing their wastes. I'm not in any way trying to promote incompetence. However, I think with time the Lagos government will take necessary action.
TravelRe: 7 Things I Learned Traveling Round South-west Nigeria by edogu(m): 10:20am On Mar 19, 2018
OBALORLA:
https://i1.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/South-west-map-1.jpg?w=388

In a journey which started in 2017, when i started my travel expedition of the world starting out with south-west Nigeria, I have come to learn a lot traveling round these states by the interaction and subliminal immersion into their cultures and norms.

All these are in a bid to reveal the tourism potentials of the world to both locals and strangers in the most interesting way.

Here are the things I’ve learned from my travels around South west Nigeria and would want you to go through them to see if there’s any you can relate to.

(1) Components of the South Western region

In the real sense of it, 6 states basically make up the south-western Nigeria and they include: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo, but for the sake of this post, I’d like to add Kwara to the list for reasons best known to me.

(2) The People

https://i0.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/DSC_0124.jpg?resize=768%2C512

The friends I made when I hiked up the mountains of Ado awaye

In case you think it’s a fluke, there are people here on earth who are ready to grill their eyes for you for dinner if that’s what you crave as a stranger. Guess what, a very tiny portion of these people reside in South west Nigeria. From the locals who took their time in showing me directions to the traders who’d voluntarily add extra to the things I buy, down to the hosts who joyously accommodate me and show me round town when I’m down on cash, I say a big thank you.

(3) Cab colours
Every state has a unique colour code for taxis.

Lagos

yellow and black

This was before the advent of ride hailing services like Uber and Taxify and the introduction of varying colours of taxis by the Lagos state government.

Oyo

Dark brown and cream

This used to be white and green until few years ago.

Ekiti

Green with 2 yellow stripes from bonnet to trunk.

Ondo

Blue on both sides with yellow from the bonnet to boot.

Kwara
https://i0.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/IMG_20170128_1329491.jpg?resize=768%2C461

Kwara state’s taxis have the highest number of colour combination: red, green, yellow and black.

Ogun

Green and two yellow stripes on each side.

(4) Traveling isn’t as Expensive as we think it is
Yeah, take that from me. It actually costs less than you think. On the average, it costs N2,000 to travel by bus from one state to another within south-western Nigeria. N7,000 to any Eastern and Northern state.
It costs on the average, N4,000 to sleep in a decent hotel and N0 if you have a host. Street food ranges from N20-N100. Accessing any tourist attraction on the average is N500 anywhere within Nigeria.
https://i1.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/PLACE-YOUR-TEXT-HERE1.jpg?resize=768%2C384

(5) Roads
https://i0.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/20180202_164753.jpg?resize=768%2C432
The road which leads to Ikogosi warm and cold spring, Ekiti.

I Haven’t really traveled to other regions of the country but with what I’ve experienced so far, It’d be safe to say the road network is somewhat fair in the south-west region. And were I to choose the states with the best road condition, Osun will have to take my vote then Ekiti.

(6) Best tourist sites
It has to be firstly cleared that all the tourist destinations in south-west Nigeria have the potentials to be great if the government and citizens do their bits in improving the facilities and frequenting the sites respectively.
https://i0.wp.com/www.nomadicnegro.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/i7.jpg?resize=768%2C512
Idanre hills- 3,000 feet above sea level.

The destinations I’ve enlisted below are solely based on how well maintained and awesome they are. In no particular order, I present to you:

- Olumo rock
- Erin Ijesha
- Idanre Hills
- Badagry

(7) Travel time
It takes approximately 4 hours to travel from Lagos to any south-western state. Ogun is the closest to Lagos while Kwara is the farthest.

Lalasticlala help tame this snake
In the South East, I think it cost about 500 naira to move from Ebonyi to Enugu State, 800 to Anambra, 1500 Abia, 1500 to Imo. However, from Umuahia to Enugu, is between 800 to 1000; 500 to Owerri etc. My point? Travelling in the East is equally affordable!

why should a lecturer be paid for 6 months strike, while student lives are been wasted... Some some don't graduate in time, some become overage and miss Nysc... If lecturers are serious..they should forfeit salaries ,..then we will know they have the student at heart...but it seems only the student loses...it is a win win for ASUU
Yes, they shouldn't have been paid for six months when they have not worked. May be, they got away with it because it was during Jonathan'administration. However, we should also give them credit. You and I know that some of the infrastructures we have in our various institutions (TETFUND and the rest) wouldn't have been feasible without this strike. It's very unfortunate that the students are the victims in this case. In nations such as Nigeria, the only way to bring the government down on their kneel is unfortunately through strike.

that's the most annoying part if the matter
If the federal government should enforce a no work no pay policy,I am sure they will find a middle ground
And I swear most lecturers no deserve salary even jss3 students sabi book pass them...A lecturer that can't construct a simple sentence is that one a lecturer?.
My brother, that where you got it wrong. The last time ASUU embarked on a strike, the FG invoked the no work, no pay. This, in no way, prevented the union from continuing with the strike for six months. ASUU is a well organized Union. Previous governments, from the time of Babaginda, Abacha and Obasanjo have employed every means to break them down, yet they couldn't succeed. ASUU has what we called check out ( I hope I got it right) dues. These dues are deducted from their salaries every month. A member who is financially up-to-date with his or her dues is entitled to a loan. So, each time the union embark on strike, a member can apply for a loan with an agreement to pay back once the strike is over.

Bolustical:
Yes, I am of the opinion that the President should resign based on his failing health as there other capable hands to succeed him, that is where the real change comes from.

I would want him to rest based on principles and not emotions,

But is it not ironical that most of the same people calling for his resignation are the same people who kept mute when SULLIVAN CHIME their son, was out of the country treating a cancer related sickness for over 5 months abroad? Same thing for Danbaba Suntai! I am so sure if the current President were their kinsman or GEJ, they would tell him to continue since Yar'adua did the same,

Yes, for me, PMB should resign out of principle and morality but not because of hatred.
My brother, you are right.

opalu:
Everybody is hung up on domestic abuse by men against women. Nobody spares a moment to find solutions to the equally devastating verbal abuse men suffer in the hands of their wives. It is worse because men can't discuss what their wives do to them for fear of scorn and derision. They suffer in silence. Timebomb.

Unfortunately, the Nigerian society has little or no support systems for this kind of situation. Little or no counselling services. It's been mostly left to the church to deal with. What happens when the man doesn't go to church? What happens when the woman doesn't believe in spiritual intervention? These women are raising daughters. Their daughters are hearing and seeing how they speak to and treat their husband. What kind of wives will they grow up to become? Those that treat their husbands as kings or those that believe husbands are nothing but verbal punching bags?

We've all agreed and rightfully so that a man has no business hitting his wife. So how then do you stop a wife raining verbal missiles at you? Leave the house? Okay. But you'll return and it will continue. What next? Leave again? For how long?

Recently, I visited a senior friend, an important man in the society and while we were downstairs gisting, the voice of his wife could be heard upstairs. She was spewing unimaginable bile against the man. She called him all sorts of unprintable names. Impotent, wretched fool, miserable man that was nothing when she married him, etc. This is a well respected man. A father of 4 children. She tore at his very core and mocked everything society respected him for. She said he'd soon crash and she'll be there to laugh at him.

I was so uncomfortable as I beheld the man. He was shrunken before me. He was deflated. He tried to gamefully continue the gist to distract me but it was not working. The woman's vitriol was a ceaseless torrent. Uncomfortable silence ensued. I excused myself and left his house.

I was really sad.

You want to know the truth? This is what most men go through in their houses. They labour and toil and build respect but when they return home, the one who ought to speak to the king in them tears them to shreds and tries to deflate their self-esteem. When they are outside, they try to act cheerful and happy but back home, they are shrivelled because the person they live with makes it a point of duty to verbally assault them.

A sad story comes to mind. There was recently a Nigerian Ambassador who was recalled because his wife released a story to the press that he beat her. She also released pictures showing fresh injuries on her body ostensibly inflicted by the man.

In a dramatic twist, their children came out to debunk the stories and said their mother faked the injuries to embarrass their dad. Grown up children.

A particular sentence by the 1st son saddened me. He said it was as if their mum woke up every morning with one mission in life: how to make their dad miserable. They said they were witnesses to how their mum constantly harassed and abused their dad and wanted the whole world to know that their dad was not who their mum was painting him to be.

Yes, opinion shifted on the scandal but the damage had been done. The Ambassador was recalled and nobody heard from him again.

A family is currently at odds with the widow of their son and brother. The wife was constantly verbally assaulting him. Nobody wanted to visit them because each time they were around, it was always quarrel and the wife would call him unprintable names. Even in their presence. When they try to interfere, she will give them their own. The man died recently of heart-attack caused by high blood pressure. He was in his late 40s. The family insists his wife sent him to his early grave with her verbal torments.

Our bars are filled with men who are afraid to go home to their wives for fear of what verbal torment they will go through. Men are finding every excuse to travel because they'll rather be anywhere than in their own homes.

Everybody is focusing on men as culprits in domestic abuse. Who is talking to the women? The impact on generation next?
