That's to tell u how petty those we consider to be elders can be. You can see dat age no longer come with wisdom. Now dey want us or only my wife to beg b4 she is given peanuts. And dey even used d word ENTITLE MENTALITY. How I wish we used doz resources and money to improve our own lives.

I'm already in tears right now. My advise to anyone reading dis, help ursef b4 any1, even b4 ur family and wife. Cos u will b called someone with ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY wen u need their help. People change, but never believed it would b family.

Thank u my brother. I'm a civil engineer as well, I see it as a marketing stunt. Even Onyenka said we can build bungalow without columns. They don't even know d basics, they think all walls are load bearing, they don't know we av framed structures as well and a lot of factors contribute to structural failure, and block size is negligible. So far u no ur total load, then u can adjust ur fdn to accommodate it and give tolerance, same with ur columns and beams, and slab. If these mentioned elements are ok, I don't know wat I need 9" block for. So far it's not even a public structure like school or church dat I will consider varying life load ratio to dead load.

Why are duplex built with timber still standing?? Structures for this pattern. Roof load to beams, slab, column, fdn

I was coming here to get first hand raw information as it is happening in our neighbor. This forum gives information about what is happening around our locality.Right here I have seen the “good, bad and the ugly”. Hardship in Nigeria has driven a lot of people into crime life, thinking it’s the easiest route from poverty. I have seen a lot of people demeaning themselves, selling their birth right, compromising their beliefs/morals, betraying both close friends and family all because of money, according to them “SURVIVAL”.Though some are justifying their actions, it’s paramount we tell ourselves the bitter truth. The state of our economy right now is really bad, and it has changed a lot of law-abiding citizens to monsters. So many people are indulged in different crimes just to make ends meet. A lot of us are dying inside silently, but the only thing that keeps us going is the fact that “BETTER DAYS ARE COMING”. Something I really want those perpetuating such act to know is that they are not the only ones experiencing this hardship, there are others doing worse than their situation, but didn’t go into crime. Nobody has the monopoly to violence. What even pains me most is the fact that such people tend to steal from others who are also facing the hardship as them. Why not go to the politicians that made our lives and country miserable. For example, will such people be happy if another person like them that is facing the current hardship robbed them of their valuables and even take their life in the process? THE ACTUAL PURPOSE OF THIS POST.What I am getting at is that I want us to know that there are ways to get out of this current tinubulation legitimately without taking lives or inflicting pain and losses on same people suffering same fate as you. Don’t let anyone discourage you that you didn’t go to school (higher institution), you have no handwork, not fluent in English language, you are poor and or broke, nor a computer literate and thus you can’t make it legitimately.There is good news for you today and I will share you the simple secret, just be honest, disciplined, dependable and sincere, then you will make money. You may be thinking if I know such, why not do it myself. Something you don’t understand yet is that I can’t be everywhere, every time. So, is it not better I still make part profit even when I am not there and you represent me? It is faster for we humans to be more successful working together than to work independently. That is where honesty, discipline, trustworthiness comes into play.
