You have got to love this guy------Adetokunbo, based on this little interview he gave. His name was was misspelled, he said. It appears he is tired of people referring to him as a Greek and not said anything about his nigerian roots. He is a straight talker. He holds nothing back.

That is why I like interview because it reveals a lot about a person. From now on, I will be reading news stories about him. He is someone I can relate to.

Non-oil export product from Nigeria?

I am interested in knowing the list of non-oil export products that Nigeria intends to export to other countries.

Nigeria has nothing to export except crude oil. Shoes, brooms, papers and pencils, clothes, TV, radios, and you Named them, are imported from white countries to Nigeria.


Those Nigerians like me from oil producing states should debunk any false narratives coming Abuja government----- suggesting Nigeria has non-oil exports to export to overseas because it is a lie.

I think any claim that suggests Nigeria has non-oil export products to export must be seen as an attempt to deceive Nigerians and to boast Buhari administration credibility.

And the bottom line is, lie like this is garbage and it will not work because evidence is there to show that Nigeria produces nothing except crude oil

Now I know who you support. You are a supporter of Governor Udom Emmanuel. You will never get me to support Governor Udom. This is a governor who rushed to run for governor without reading the 1999 onstitution of Nigeria. That is why governor Udom Emmanuel did not know what to do when fulanis herdsmen arrived in Akwa Ibom state to kill our people. He tried to blame Buhari for herdsmen attack on Akwa Ibom state citizens.

The 1999 constitution of Nigeria clearly states that state governors are responsible for protecting lives and safety of the citizens in their states.

How can Udom Emmanuel lead if he doesn't know his responsibilities to the citizens of his state?

Knowing your responsibilities from day one is governor job . That is why I can never see myself voting for Udom. He is a lazy man.

A product of poor training!

Twenty four hours ago, punch and Nigerian tribune reported that 6 fighter planes were due to arrive in Nigeria to take on boko Haran and other terror groups. Today's news about downing of military aircraft in Nigeria undercuts any celebration relating to new planes arrival and boast terror readiness to take on Nigeria military.

That is bad news for citizens living in the affected areas because boko Haran and other terror groups are exploiting on the weaknesses of Nigeria military.

I think Nigeria should stop rushing to buy foreign military equipment until assurances are given that operators of these equipment in Nigeria are trained and can do the job effectively.

So, the bottom line is human error is the cause of airplane crashes in Nigeria, not necessarily the equipment.

Trust me, I only traveled to 2 out of 31 local governments in Akwa Ibom state. Those two local governments are Uyo and Oron. I grew up poor. Roads were small. And access to other local governments was nearly impossible. That was in the 90s before victor Attah became a governor and started to build roads. But I managed to save some money and traveled to overseas to study. I am no longer poor.

Akwa Ibom state is not lagos state --- the only state in Nigeria where government provides subsidized public transportation. That means if you are a citizen of Akwa Ibom state and want to travel to learn about your state, you have to fund your way. And since I was poor, that was impossible.

So, story like this is told every day by millions of Akwa Ibom state citizens except you. You sound like a rich child from a well to do family. God bless you.

Now, I don't live in Nigeria today.
I live in a country where people are not afraid to say that they were poor growing up. Telling people your upbringing is a good kitchen table conversation. Believe me ,I am living it .

Five Years After, Victims Of Collapsed Church Wait For Help That May Never Come

The collapsed building
Five years after a church packed full worshippers in an uncompleted structure gave way during a high profile celebration attended by politicians and businessmen, men, women, youths, the young and the elderly, killing unspecified number of worshipers in Uyo, in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, the survivors have recounted their ordeal of neglect and abandonment.

The location of the church as it was found out was in a government reserved area, a forestry zone meant for the preservation of the special species of the ecosystem in the area and for the sustenance of the environment. As it was also found out, the church authorities had cut corners in securing approval for the building permit in an area that was not meant for any physical structure.

Church founder, Apostle Akan Weeks, known for his designer suits was to be consecrated an Archbishop and he had extended the invitation to the top and invited dignitaries to the ceremony to be held in his church which was still under construction with heavy iron rods and iron bars.

The ceremony came six months after a general elections in the country in which new governors were elected, including the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Udom Emmanuel, a former banker who was eager to identity with church leaders who later came to be part of the community of Fathers of Faith, a group of leaders who have come to exercise much influence in the governance of the state.

The government white paper on the disaster in which many were killed, several injured and the governor narrowly escaped death had been issued after a judicial commission of inquiry which recommended the prosecution of the church founder, the demolition of the buildings in the area to restore the area to its original plan, it was silent on the victims of the disaster. While top government officials were treated free of charge by the state government in hospitals within and outside the country, the ordinary people were left to cater for themselves.

"The incident happened on December 10, 2016 and I first regained consciousness on January 1, 2017. I could not carry my body, my ankle was completely detached, my hip joint was pulled out, my ribs were cracked. I never thought I would survive, but thank God for life, I was revived in a private clinic in Uyo for 3 weeks., said Akan Akanuwah, a middle-aged man who was one of the countless victims of the tragedy.

"When I was taken to University of Uyo (UUTH) on a stretcher, the Head of Orthopedic, Dr Notish said he could not handle my case. I was taken to a private hospital in Ikot Ekpene where a certain Dr Essien, a 75 year old American trained doctor, rescued me," he stated.

Akpanuwah, who now walks with the crutches and hails from Itu Local government area of the state said the Akwa Ibom government has abandoned him after an initial payment for his medical bills, adding that he was alive and able to walk with an aid due to the financial support from family, friends and Church members.

Akpanuwah, who suffered hip bone and ankle dislocation among other injuries during the incident, said the injuries have drained his savings and resources and four major surgeries.

"From what I gathered, because the government dealt directly with my doctor, they paid part of my hospital bills which was about N6.5 million. I learnt they paid about N3 million. My Church, family and friends footed a greater part of the bill.

"The N6.5 million is just what I paid for the four major surgeries that have been done on my leg. I was in the hospital for over a year and each night was N10,000. I know what I have spent. I was completely smashed. My whole body was paralyzed.

"When I was taken to the University of Uyo (UUTH) on a stretcher, the Head of Orthopedic said he could not handle my case and I was taken to a private hospital in Ikot Ekpene where my case was handled.

Akpanuwah, a businessman who said he lost all he had just to pay his medical bills, revealed that he still needed to undergo other surgeries because his ribs were affected in the accident.

According to him, some victims have been incapacitated for life adding that he has been abandoned both by the state government and the authorities of the collapsed church.

"I have lost all I ever had as a young man. I still need surgeries because I still have iron in my ankle, hip; my ribs need attention. So many people who did not die during the incident are dead because of lack and negligence on the part of the government. They are supposed to cater for our welfare.

"I'm only being lucky. Some of the victims are permanently incapacitated, so they need care. When I go to court, which I intend to, that is when they will know that we need care".

Akpanuwah expressed displeasure at the state government for exonerating Apostle Akan Weeks from blame, saying as a result, the man was not remorseful, and called for the white paper on the matter to be made public.

"From what I learnt, the government is hiding the white paper which is not supposed to be a hidden document. I am planning to go to court on the matter but my lawyer says I should hold on until I recover fully. He has assured me that if the case is taken to court, the white paper will be produced.

"Because of the government's interest, they are hiding the white paper and only published the part that favoured them because of that, the man (Akan Weeks) has not shown any remorse. I am told the white paper really indicted him.

"He is the one that told the workers to remove the pillars that held the beam of the building against the advice of an engineer. He has not shown remorse or empathy in any way. I will take him to court," he insisted.

Another victim, who works with the media crew of the state government, says he felt disappointed by the way the state government has abandoned the victims, saying the state government was only interested in paying the hospital bills of top government officials.

"I was reluctant to speak on the issue due to the neglect by the government.

"Government only paid attention to some of those government functionaries affected by the tragedy, adding that the White paper over the incident has yet to be released by the state government..

"From that time and now, I have spent more than N3 million on hospital bills and drugs to maintain myself. However, I thank God I am alive today to give this account; the government has not done well, go and tell them," he stated.

Governor Udom Emmanuel who was at the event later set up a Commission of Inquiry to look into the matter, though the commission has since submitted its report, the state government has yet to make it public.

Clifford Thomas, National Coordinator, Akwa Ibom Human Rights Community and lawyer who represented the victims, Clifford Thomas, said the outcome of the Commission of Inquiry was a sad reminder of the failure of the government to guarantee the welfare of its people.

Thomas, who claimed that about 100 lost their lives with many left injured, expressed dismay that the government has failed to give succour to many of those affected.

"The amount of money raised to support the victims was through voluntary donations from the public and some of the victims with serious injuries were later sent out of the government hospital where they were treated by the hospital management."

Many of those affected had to resort to traditional medicine to treat themselves because they were poor and afraid to challenge the government for exonerating Apostle Akan Weeks, the founder of the collapsed church.

"Akwa Ibom Human Rights Community is calling for the review of the report of the Commission of enquiry into the Reigners Bible Church collapse to accommodate those who died, those who were left behind and those who were injured," he maintained.

Mr Franklin Isong, head of Civil Liberties Organisation in Akwa Ibom believes the state government was not fair to all the victims .


"The White Paper issued by the state government exonerated Akan Weeks. but indicted the engineers that carried out the construction of the building.

"As far as the CLO is concerned, Apostle Akan Weeks is the owner of the structure and the place was marked for demolition by government authorities.

"Apostle Weeks covered up the demolition marking and continued to build on that building. That place was a swampy area and was not fit for such a project. But when the White Paper Report was released, the government absolved Apostle Weeks.

"The Panel reports came out clearly that Apostle Akan Weeks is the owner of the building. He engaged the engineers who gave him professional advice alleging some structural defects on the building.

"But he said they should go ahead with the building, and even put up pillars in the middle of the building as a support, which the engineers advised that they should be removed. When the reports came out, the government excused and absolved Apostle Akan Weeks of any indictment but indicted only the engineers.

There is also controversy over the exact number of those that died from the incident with many putting the figure of those that lost their lives at between 300 and 400 people.

Mr Ini Ememobong, a spokesman for the state government said the review of the White Paper which would have given room for the payment of compensation to the victims and their rehabilitation by the state government was not being considered as the state government has not received a request from any group.

"The white paper is the government's position on the report. So If they are seeking a review, are they seeking a review of the report or the white paper? These are technical and administrative issues.

"We are not aware of any request for review of either the report or white paper because you cannot seek for a review of the white paper.

"The white paper is the position on the report, while the report is the foundation, and the white paper is the building on top the foundation. As far as I am aware, we have not been notified of any request for a review," he said.

For now, Akpanumoh and several others who survived the tragedy with severe injuries will constantly be reminded of that fateful day when the roof of the makeshift church came crashing on them while they continue to hope for succour which might not be forthcoming any time soon.

Flyover commissioned by Obasanjo in Akwa Ibom State is pure photo oops for Udom and Obasanjo. This is buying celebrity to peddle lies to show that Governor Udom has achieved something.
Absolutely not. Where is the proof?

This flyover is 1 kilometer (.62 mile) long.
What is the relevant of building a half-a-mile long flyover to economic development in Akwa ibom State?

Unless this flyover is for tourist’s attraction, I cannot see its economic relevant to the state. Akwa Ibom State population is between 12 to 15 million people, but the Northern Nigerian Muslim run federal government under counted the state population to short change Akwa Ibom State in federal revenues allocations formula. And 99% of the state population live in absolute poverty level--owing to poor leadership skills provided by Akpabio and udom administrations. Farming industry to provide jobs for locals does not exist, western style shopping centers to help locals to own their own businesses do not exist.


When will Akwa Ibom State government recognize that building roads to connect all the local governments in the state is important for economic development, uniting people and creating jobs to help locals to earn incomes for better lives?

Akwa Ibom State is composed of 31 local governments—and that means the state needs to build 31 highways to be economic relevant. I grew up in Akwa Ibom State, and I had only traveled to 2 of 31 locals in my life. That is terrible for economic development of the state and to citizens knowledge of their own state. I have always wanted to travel to all the local governments in my state to get to know our people, learn about our history, and to see how my contribution can impact the lives of Akwa Ibom people. But I could not because of lack of access to other local governments. No wonder why citizens of the state are so divided in how they see each other.

The only thing governor Udom did good is he did not invite President Buhari to come to the state to commission this half a mile flyover. And I thank him for that. President Buhari resentment to Akwa Ibom citizens can be measured in his federal funding policies and hiring practices. Akwa Ibom State citizens do not benefit in Buhari government at all.

Appointed Governing council chairs are too old to bring fresh ideas into their respective universities to lessen the demand
for foreign help. A new study released two months ago, shows that 99% of Nigerian Annual budgets go to foreign contractors--- leaving only 1% to locals.

Do you think these old members of the university Governing council Chairs are going to change these alarming stats ?

Oh, no!

That explains the reason for rising increase in poverty and unemployment in Nigeria . Every time you hire foreign contractors, you are shipping jobs overseas. It also explains why young people who graduate from schools are having trouble finding jobs.

Young Nigerians should be hired to run schools because they know problems facing the country and how these problems can be addressed. Old person like president Buhari and Rotimi Ameachi are interested in hiring foreign contractors to take jobs away from Nigerians. They are the problems facing Nigeria and not the solutions.

President Buhari, stop filling up government jobs with old Nigerians because they never change and their ideas are often very old to solve any problem.

[b] How did vice president Osinbajo become professor without PhD?

The answer is simple. Anyone who teaches languages, music, art, and law is not required to have PhD to be a university professor.

So, if anyone told you that vice president Osinbajo cheated his way into becoming professor, that person is misinformed.

Taraba state governor: “The NYSC I will say should be two years. One year for compulsory military training and the other year for the social works that they are doing now so that anybody who graduates as an NYSC person can know how to handle the gun and defend himself just as it is done in Israel, Lebanon and other places, you must engage your citizens to be proactive. When you cannot provide security, you must allow the people to protect themselves.”


Terrible idea and not something I would recommend. Talking about training students to fight criminals. It probably works in Israel and Lebanon, but certainly not in Nigeria.

Israelis and Labanonise governments know
how to take great care of their people, not the Nigerian government. Two years ago when I last visited Nigeria, I saw police and soldiers walked on worn out shoes, shirts and pants. Looking at a distance, Nigerian police officers looked fried in a hot and burning heat temperatures. I cried when I saw their appearance.

In Israel and Lebanon, police officers drive in brand new cars. No police officers in Israel and Lebanon walked on their feet chasing criminals. In contrast, Nigerian police officers walked miles on their feet fighting crimes. That is why bandits have taken over the streets and neighborhoods in Nigeria because police officers don't feel appreciated for what they do.

So, if Taraba state governor wants students to join police, he should address poor conditions nigerian police are going through today. He should buy 100,000 brand new cars for police. He should make police officers the highest paid employees in his state. He should buy and pay for police uniforms, shoes and pants.

No one is excited to fight criminals at the rate of $1 a day. Not me. Nigerian police officers and soldiers are the lowest paid government officials anywhere in the world.

Certainly, Not incentives to love what you do!

I agree with Rep. Kwewum call for Chairman Secondus resignation. Mr. Secondus is a liability to PDP. He is too old to keep up with current trends on issues hurting the party chances to succeed at polls. He doesn't call out president Buhari for all the killings and kidnapping going on in Nigeria. Mr. Secondus is a Jonathan boy--- meaning he is scared to challenge president Buhari and APC on practice of discrimination against Nigerians .

Many PDP members and Nigerian people see Mr. Secondus as using the party for his own personal gains. That is not a good image people want to think of a party Chairman. A party Chairman is someone people get excited about. Right now, I see no excitement in Chairman Secondus to get people interested in fighting for PDP.

That said, and as long as Chairman Secondus remains as PDP chairman, the party will never win 2023 presidential election. His presence in PDP brings back the memories of former president Goodluck Jonathan. Goodluck Jonathan was not exciting person to begin with. So, throwing Goodluck Jonathan into the mix makes things worse for PDP.

I agree with justice Taiwo. It was the right verdict for MS. KEMI ADEOSUN and all Nigerians at home and abroad. And thank God MS. Kemi ADEOSUN has finally gotten her good reputation back. I knew from day one, northern Nigerians muslims gang up to rob MS. Kemi ADEOSUN of her ministerial job and they succeeded. But guess what, president Buhari has failed to lead Nigeria out of economic disasters.

Unemployment rates in Nigeria are at all time high, most reports say 60%. According to UN reports, over 350,000 Nigerians have been killed since president Buhari took office. 10 millions Nigerians have been driven out of their homes in the past 6 years of Buhari administration. Kidnapping is a booming business in Nigeria. Islamic militants control Nigerian streets. Most schools in the northern Nigeria are closed for fear of terrorism and kidnapping.


Nigeria is unsafe to live !
Last I checked, MS. Kemi ADEOSUN is not the one to be blamed here. The blames go to president Buhari and his Islamic terrorists .

Does MS. Kemi ADEOSUN want to be president of Nigeria in 2023?

I will vote for her. She is an honest and hardest working woman ever to work in Nigerian government. And thank you God for restoring MS. Kemi ADEOSUN reputation.

Terrible loss of lives!
But I don't feel bad about these killings going on in northern Nigeria so long they stay in the north. That is because the northern Nigerians created enabled environment for this kind of crime to thrive . The government officials received money from the government to help people, instead, they pocket them. They don't build roads, schools, bridges--leaving the poor to wonder if government really works for them.

Lack of government assistance to poor people is what has brought violence crime to northern Nigeria. It is not going to stop until government officials change their criminal behavior.

So, I recommend that the south/South states governors should put in place a policy aimed at putting northern Nigerians in jail if they migrate to south/South states.

Northern Nigerians are too corrupt to be allowed into the south/South states.

Bad mistake to close schools due to possible terrorist attacks. It amounts to surrendering to terrorism!

Who wins here?. Not Kaduna state government but the terror. Terror number one objective is to create fear. And as you can see, fear has succeeded in closing down schools.

I would have requested for military deployment to all schools in Kaduna state instead shutting down schools. When you shut down schools in the face of terrorism, you project weaknesses. That gives terror the courage to keep doing the same thing over and over.

So, people who have argued that president Buhari is not a good leader are right. A good leader would have sent in troops to Kaduna state public schools to protect the kids and order military operations into surrounding areas to crush bandits. That would have deterred future criminals from profiting from their crime.

Military should return to power if president Buhari refuses to resign as soon as possible. There is a complete breakdown of law and order in Nigeria which I think only military government restore.

Southern Nigerian governors agreed that the next president of Nigeria must come from south-- only helps to confirm existence of tribalism in Nigeria.

Where is OBJ from in Nigeria?
And where is Goodluck Jonathan come from in Nigeria?

The last I checked both were former presidents and from southern Nigeria.

When these two guys were in power, they cozy up to northern Nigerians in hiring practices and projects sharing .

So, Nigeria does not need a southern president. What Nigeria needs is a president who treats all Nigerians as equal in hiring practices and sharing of government projects.

A southern Nigeria president is a bigot and tribalist, fullstop!

Mikel Obi has been playing professional football since I was in high school. Now, I am a grown up man and Mikel Obi is reported to be 34 years, I wonder whether 34 years is factual or false.

Mikel Obi should stop kissing people ass for a few bucks and open up business-- to help young people to work and earn some income.

I heard the phrase " role model " many times, but I have not seen good example in Nigeria.

Biafra went to war from 1967 to 1970 to succeed and lost. That means military option is not a winnable alternative. Therefore, a winnable alternative is petitioning UN and using peaceful framework to part ways from Nigeria. That is why I am excited about Ibom Republic becoming a reality .

State governors in Nigeria should recruit security personnel in their states to evict bandits. That is a good strategy to wipeout all those criminals in Nigeria

Finally, I want to ask all Nigerian states governors to stop being crying babies. Create and engage in some innovative ways to wipeout criminals in your state.
