Nigeria alone can't end the war without Chad, Niger and Cameron keeping their borders safe, all recent attacks by Boko Haram are done on border towns.

What Nigeria should do:
If Chad and Niger aren't ready to commit their troops in protecting their borders, Nigeria should establish military base on their soil, We need to take the war to them, we can't just sit down and wait for Boko Haram to strike from their hideouts.

When there was a joint military operation by Nigeria, Cameron, Niger and Chad, Boko Haram were seriously dealt with, within few months they lost thousands of men, they only started having gains when everyone left the war for Nigeria.

Why I think The war will likely continue:

Money: Their are some army generals who are benefiting from this war, so they are doing everything possible to prolong the battle.

Politics: Boko Haram war is politically influenced, noticed there have been some constant attack few months to elections?

Corruption: corruption is killing the federal government, no matter how they try to hide this, we can still see that the Buhari led government haven't really done anything to better the lives of our gallant troops fighting this War, as a result of this our troops are not well motivated, when a soldier is not motivated, he can't perform well on the battle field.

Niger and Chad until recently were not keeping to their own part of the bargain, why withdraw troops from your end, giving Boko time to recruit and attack our forces from their soil.

If not for our useless and clueless leaders and corrupt army generals, Nigeria ought to by now have several military base in Niger and Chad (We should only leave when they are ready to protect their borders), we shouldn't wait till Boko Haram strikes, we should take to war to them.

May God bless our gallant troops, sadly I don't see this war ending soon.

I haven't and will never speak for anioma, I always limit my stuffs to my ethnic group and our sister tribe. I wouldn't have bothered myself mentioning him if he hadn't been dragging my ancestral land into his struggle.

you don't understand, Edo is just one part of a bigger family, urhobo is an ethnic group of itself just like Bini, isan, isoko, etc.

What we are trying to do is try to promote more unity between us because of our ancestry, if we don't that means we are lost.

Don't you see igbos trying to claim delta even their nnadi kanu included it in their Biafra map because he saw they aren't united.

Promoting one "Big" family is different from saying the Urhobos are Edo people, by so doing, you are denying us our identity, there are several ways you can go about this without trying to appear domineering.

The Oba Of Bini was in warri of recent, but he didn't deemed it necessary to visit any Urhobo Kingdom, like I thought a father is suppose to look after his children?, so many things need to be done about our dwindling relationship.

As for the Kanu guy, we all know his inclusion of Delta state is an illusion, he dare not even bring his campaign down to warri or any Urhobo/Isoko/itsekiri town, we'd surprise them. so worry not about them.

I have never denied our link with Bini, but not matter how connected we are, the Urhobos remain a unique ethnic group and it's unfair to lump them as "Edo people".

You have all the right to protect your Edo heritage, same as me, you just need to face reality, for the fact that a group of people migrated from your land doesn't make them part of your ethnic group, we all migrated from somewhere.

The Rail way that also crosses my hometown is now functional, an over head bridge is now being completed, remembered when I was young the overhead bridge was abandoned and we were forced to convert the rail track as our road.

Actually the Urhobos and Isokos are regarded as Edoid, but that doesn't mean they are Edo by tribe, or are under any influence from Bini or from their oba, in fact most Urhobos don't see anything special about Bini.

I suppose your are from Okpe, judging by your name and your historical point of view, the Okpe is the only sub-urhobo group who claims direct migration from Ile-ife, others point their migration to Bini.

Someone I knew back in my undergraduate days in Nigeria had
"Okoro" as his surname. He was a full-blooded, pounded yam-loving Ekiti
guy!

Okoro has something to do with "bitterness" according to the Ekiti version. Urhobos also bear Okoro
as surnames. Oko has something to do
with "man" in Itsekiri and Urhobo.

On the other hand Itsekiris use the spelling
: Ogedegbe! In other parts of Yoruba, Ogedengbe with a letter "n" is used...

Seasons Greetings konquest, just saw this post while doing a little research on the origin of the word "Okoro".

In Urhobo/Isoko/Itsekiri "Okoro" means man/boy, example of names associated with Okoro are;
Okotie (Okoro-tie) - short man
Okorodudu (Okoro-Odudu) - Black Man

Edo also bears "Okeren" (Might not get the spelling correctly) which means boy (Corrupt form of Okoro), I also heard those from Ilaje and Ikale bears something related to this, and when I asked about the meaning they told me it means "Aged Man".

Igbo also bears Okoro, and it means boy/banchelor/young male adult. but haven't heard of "Okoro" been translated as "Bitterness", my question is, how can Ekiti have a different meaning to this particular word even when it means boy in other Eastern yoruboid dialects.

Russia and Iran were there legally while US and her NATO was trying to removed Assad just like was they did in Libya and Iraq. But this time around Assad was wise to invite Russia.

Russia can’t attack US troops or SDF but Turkey can

... Assad was wise enough to invite Russia... I think Russia got involved in Syria because of what they will benefit, Gaddafi as well invited Russia, but it got to a point they withdrew their support, leaving Gaddafi to the mercies of American bombardment.

The War is almost over, Assad now controls a huge part of Syria, US backed rebels are no where to found, for me, I think Russia's objectives are being achieved, next should be for them to leave.

Libya crisis was a well orchestrated inside job and each rocket fired by NATO during the peace intervention has a price tag attached to it that must be paid in cash or crude oil.
When will NATO intervene in Yemen and other poor countries with instability, Who and who really is united inside ICC and U.N with their useless veto previledges.

I bet they won't intervene in Yemen, the poor country can go to hell for all they care, till date I still can't point out the exact reason for Libya's raid.

Do you know that after Gaddafi died, they left the country, without even trying to stabilize any shii, now we have various militants and terrorists group operating in various part of the Libya. Gaddafi death is a big blow the Africa and Africans.

Every State is Sovereign and so the U.N cannot just jump into fighting an internal War. Even though Nigeria has all the characteristics of a failed state, this Government has made it look like they are cleaning the mess of the previous Government. So the international community has no justification to interfere just yet.

Every state is sovereign, yet NATO led an Air campaign against Gaddafi, This was even approved by these so called Useless UN, Isreal kept violating Syria's airspace, not until Russia decided to checkmate their excesses, Saudi Arabia is killing people in another country, Russia keeps intimidating their neighbors, etc.

ICC are bunch of hypocrites, there is nothing the Nigerian military has done that US, Russia, Saudi Arabia,etc haven't don't x10. These people have bombed Hospitals, schools, churches, mosques, homes, (killed thousands of Innocent kids), yet everyone is acting like they are saint.

Think man, Nigeria has brought peace to Humanity than US and Russia put together, at least we brought stability to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Gambia all at our expenses. Tell me one country these western countries have stabilized, just mention one.
