phemmie06:No man - living or dead - who understands War terminology will use Insurgency, conventional warfare and terrorism in the same sentence!! |
koboko69:Duly noted!! I want to believe that the fact that you are a die hard APC fan does not mean that you are totally blinded to the truth!! If you undertake an investigation of the History of the Sovereign wealth fund, its creation and the closure of the ECA - which was an illegality fathered by Obasanjo - you will discover that there was actually efforts made by Jonathan/Nkonjo Iweala to save funds!! Unfortunately it was a solo parade, all the governors refused to save within the framework of the SWF; the only governor who heeded NOI's warning was Peter Obi of anambra state and even he chose to save in his state outside the framework of the SWF - a look at news archives will show you that He invited Nkonjo Iweala to Anambra to restructure the state ministry of finance!! The story of anambra today? At a time when other states governor are struggling to pay minimum wage, Obiano is able to increase salaries based on the foundation laid by Peter Obi! If you check news archives on the internet, you will find out at a time Jonathan tried to forcefully withhold Excess crude revenue for states within the framework of the SWF but governors under NGF threatened to go to court - Nevertheless Aregbesola and Oshiomole took advantage of this and lied that Jonathan still held their funds during the electioneering campaigns because to beg Jonathan for bailout during elections, would only give Jonathan/PDP Political mileage in an election year. You will find out that Jonathan never had any issues paying salaries; it was the state governors who did. Under Buhari's time, I know someone who received november as at 3rd week of december, that never happened during Jonathan's time! Imagine how Nigeria would have been if all governors supported Jonathan/Nkonjo's effort and jointly saved in the SWF framework?? Imagine if Buhari didn't have to cough out trillions of Naira to do bailout for state governors!!?? Just imagine if all states followed anambra's example and accumulated savings in dollars; we will never be feeling the pangs of a potential head on collision with a recession!! Unfortunately, government is a majority politicians game where intellectual administrators - the minority in this case - are concerned. The Minority will have their say but the Majority will always have their way!! |
gboss4sure:You forgot to add EFCC and SSS Chairman ar the same time!! Abi have you forgotten that baba said he will not release Dasuki and Kanu whether court grant them bail or not!! |
TheGoodJoe:Obviously you have much faith in the link that you are touting or better yet you are too caught up trying to generate traffic for your blog or even your mentor's blog to recognise the facts!! Your response to my question only makes only makes certains things clear to me; First of all, You never bothered to read the PWC audit report, only a mentor's skewed interpretation of the facts of the report!! Secondly and for the record, it is not found anywhere in any news archive that Sanusi reported $20bn dollars missing. Sanusi drafted a letter to Mr President that was leaked to press where he said $49.8billion dollars was Missing!! It was when Sanusi was summoned to the Senate to explain how he came about those figures that he re-adjusted his figures to $20billion dollars!! That was what popularised the 20billion dollars conspiracy!! Nkonjo Iweala when summoned referred the senate to The Minister of Petroluem because NNPC is a Parastatal under Ministry a petroluem and not ministry of finance; beside she has no access to NNPC expenditure neither is she an expert in Oil and gas accounting!! Allison suggested a probe because there was no sign of a leak!! The house committee - I believe it should be on Oil and Gas with commitee on finance - waded into the matter and found about $3 or $4bn dollars which NNPC said was used for certain maintenance work. NNPC MD's, Nkonjo Iweala, Alison, Sanusi gave depositions at the committee sittings. The things I gathered from the Committee's sitting which was obvious even to the blind is as follow:- Sanusi has no experience nor skill in Oil and gas law or accounting so how can he give account of NNPC handling of funds!!?? It was this lack of technical expertise in Oil and Gas accounting that led the commitee to recommend that external auditors be nominated to review the controversial figure at the concluding of the sitting which was about $4bn and not $20bn. And at the end of the sitting, Sanusi was asked on National Television if he was clear about the $20billion figure and he said yes!! It was when the newspapers announced that FRcN wanted to recommend his suspension based on perceived irregularities at CBN that he gave a press conference hammering on 20bn and that he was persecuted for telling the truth about missing funds. Sanusi - CBN governor - is more or less a Parastatal head under the Ministry of finance, NNPC is more or less a parastatal under Ministry of Petroluem; how is it that Sanusi has more information on activities under ministry of petroluem more than even the minister?? You say that NNPC spends cash without approval from the National assembly, till this morning NNPC is still spending cash from Crude oil sales without National assembly approval! It has a mandate to do so on the behalf of FG based on enabling laws that setup NNPC; who is crying blue murder now!!?? If Sanusi spoke about it as though it was abnormal, it is proof that he is totally ignorant about how the oil and gas sector works. And if he can be wrong about how the oil and gas sector should operate, he probably was wrong about how cash managing such operation is utilised and in effect he is probably wrong about any missing cash!! Check my profile for topics I have created on Nairaland; you will see a Diary I culled from vanguard which catalogues the whole story of the missing $49bn from Day 1 of this whole conspiracy with date and time!! So don't make assumptions based on what was raised by a mentor who probably doesn't have enough info on the matter!! Just leave Trash for LAWMA and let's focus on a different stuff altogther......... |
TheGoodJoe:Meaning $20bn dollars is still missing right!!?? Because it was $20bn dollars that Sanusi said was Missing that instigated the call for the audit!! In your own words $20bn dollars is till missing right!!?? |
TheGoodJoe:Nobody diverted funds, the PWC report has already been released and debate at the level of NASS! NNPC paid subsidy on Kerosene in line with a Presidential directive and even the subsidy payment is not $49.8bn or $20billion!! PWC report was clear to the Unbiased mind! The report specifically stated that the issues of Kerosene subsidy payment was a fallout of bad politics between Presidency and NASS and called on both of them to review their stances on the issue - Meaning Mr President Reapproach NASS and NASS should accept MR presidents position on the matter. NASS cannot ask NNPC to explain why Kerosene isn't available at #50 per litre and at the same time demand that NNPC refund cash paid on subsidy!! Choose one stance and abandon the other; NASS chose to forgo the issue and further budgetted kerosens subsidy payments subsequently!! End of story!! |
TheGoodJoe:About $49.8billion and $20billion missing yes!! If you even check news archives, you will see suggestive statements by Sanusi suggesting that those cash were to be part of PDP/Jonathan's electoral war chest for next elections!! The elections have come and gone, now naa $2.1billion arms deal funds that was used to finance his electoral campaign. A deal that on one in the world has details about except Buhari and his Kitchen cabinet!! Even scotland yard that prosecuted Ibori for laundering over $120million over 8years and called it a monumental financial crime is not aware, US isn't aware!! Dollars were moved around like that and the US economy didn't shift by a margin because $2.1bn is now like #2.1bn!! I hear........ |
TheGoodJoe:Read your comment again and again and tell me that you bear no bias in favour of Sanusi. Where is it done in the world that you seek to investigate the activities of a Minister or Head of Parastatal and such a person is still left in such office!! Most especially when such a person seems to have a case to answer!!?? Don't forget that the second to last audit of CBN by FRCB exposed issues, most especially the refusal to adopt IFRS which sanusi replied by asking for more; 6 moths to the end of your tenure, last audit of your tenure and instead of explaining refusal to adopt IFRS you reply by saying "Mr President is aware of the situation", what kind of crap is that?? The court granted the injunction for the same reasons that Buhari will lose his case against Dasuki in court; and that is violation of fundamental human rights!! Aside from the fact that FRCN wasn't meant to lead that investigation - constitutionally - but was only to assist anti-corruption agencies in an advisory capacity; Sanusi was detain at the airport and his passport seized by FG agencies! This was why FRCN was restrained. In any case, if Jonathan was still keen on investigating, the court injunction didn't stop it from doing so; it was Sanusi's new status as Emir that halted Jonathan in his tracks!! Plus, it is only you that know that NNPC is next for probe as far as Buhari's spotlight is concerned!! As at now, Buhari is the petroluem minister and if as petroluem minister for over 7 months he hasn't deemed it fit to probe the $20bn issue; it is obvious to even the simple minded that the issue is dead and gone!! He has already declared his roadmap for NNPC which will involved splitting NNPC into 2 bodies with different roles; one as an investor in the sector and the other as a regulator in the Oil sector! A move that has already penned down 1,100 people for sack!! Maybe you are a member of Buhari's change kitchen cabinet and initmately know somethings that we don't! Enlighten us some more............... |
TheGoodJoe:The enabling acts that forged/established the NNPC gives the CBN every right to sell crude, substract its expenditure from the cash and remit the rest to government!! http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/nnpc-act-gives-it-a-blank-cheque-to-spend-without-limit-or-control-pwc/ Already NNPC had been taken to court over this issue and it won!! NNPC cannot be waiting 3months to receive budgetary allocations via supplementary budget for expenditures/exigencies that must be met in realtime!! Such expenditure isn't illegal, the issue in debate wasn't on it legality. The issue to be addressed was whether that power was abused, and a clear violation was spotted in the payment of kerosene subsidy; but NNPC was absolved becasue FG refused to file in the National gazette the decision of NASS to end the Kerosene subsidy regime and also went further to direct NNPC to pay the subsidy instead of addressing that exclusion at the level of the NASS! If you want NNPC to stop spending without approval, then the NNPC enabling act has to be amended to reflect that desire; simple and short!! Chikenan!! |
TheGoodJoe:The point exactly!! No government of a 3rd world country spends its money on arms; it borrowed. FRCN attacked Sansui on 2 Major fronts - let not forget that FRCn is charged with routinely audit of CBN accounts. One front was extra-budgetary expenditure on seemingly political issues outside CBN's core mandate. For crying out loud, CBN governor donated cash to bomb blast victims in an attack on a mosque in Kano - as though they had not been bombing people before kano state bombing, but his first ever donation was to kano - when there was an outcry against it, then he started sharing to others like Madalla church bomb victims etc The second was his refusal to submit/adopt IFRS standard evn though he knock other banks for not doing so!! He had no reasonable excuse for this except that "Mr President is aware" and "I need more time". How much time did he give banks and how much time did he need, he never stated and till he left CBN after how many years at the helm of affairs he refused to adopt IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standard). These are the crux upon which he was knocked. He had been receiving knocks from FRCN well before he spoke about $49.8 billion dollars missing from NNPC before he trimed the figure to $20bn. If truly such funds were truly unaccounted for, why is our Darling President - who is also our Darling Petroleum Minister - not launching a probe into the whereabouts of the unaccounted $20billion!!?? Read and understand the PWC report, and think about it!! Why did Sanusi have to get a court order restraining FRCN from investigating his tenure as CBN governor!!?? If truly the man didn't run CBN like an Emirate, he has nothing to fear right?? |
mnairaland:On core functions of the CBN and with approval of the CBN Board, Yes!! Donating #250million Naira to the family of the Uncle of the Slain Boko Haram Leader or donating #100million to the victims of Bomb blasts in Kano Only and Tagging it Corporate Social Responsiblity is an abuse of that power and that was what FRCN was against!! Abuse of power. |
TheGoodJoe:Please, stop using blue coloured fonts to raise false stories to mislead folks!! None of Sanusi's claims were substantiated in anyway. All that price water cooper audit revealed was over 1bn paid in Kerosene subsidy which wasn't captured in the National budget but yet NNPC still paid based on the presidency's refusal to gazette the decision to scrap kerosene subsidy. Mr President was asked to either gazette the decision and ask NNPC to refund rhe subsidy paid or the NASS find a way to include it in the budget since the NASS didn't really seem averse to kerosene subsidy, it was simply politics at work!! |
TheGoodJoe:Don't be fooled by English laguage constructs! No one is arguing whether $2.1bn or monies was stolen. What was said is that there is no $2.1bn arms deal; if there was then who are the dealers and what is the list of products to be supplied?? And what third world country by the way spends $2.1bn on only arms?? This is exactly what happened the last time someone cried foul to mislead folks! That was how Sanusi said $49bn was missing, then it became $20bn. Has anyone noticed that Buhari isn't looking for any missing $20bn from NNPC account!!?? Thats because there was no missing $20bn or $49bn - if you read PriceWaterCooper investigative audit report, then you would have known! But everyone has forgotten the FRCN audit report which remains un-investigated, concerning alleged violation and misappropriations by former governor lamido sanusi!! Where he spent millions of Naira above his constitutional limit - on a Boko Haram member's family - without course to any budgetary approval and nothing happened; stella Oduah's parastatal as aviation minister - NCAA - did same and everybody wanted a trial!! See confusion............... |
abayomi93:I doubt that greatly!! Taking on a lot of people at a time requires great amount of skill no matter the martial arts you practice! Jiu-jitsu, MMA, CQC - Close quarter combat - are some of the range of martial arts I believe maybe in their training regimen; none of which are suited towards crowd control!! I only know of one martial art that is suited to deal with multiple folks at the same time and that's Bagua Zhang, which isn't in their training regimen!! |
sonofananimal:Backup plans ............Haaaaaaaaa!!Well that's your opinion, but I don't believe you are wrong.........I know you are wrong. Till today, there are folks who still try to woo her even as she is right now. If she were someone who is fickle, or materialistic, I for nor even see her sef greet not to talk of date, not to even mention capture. For those who try to woo her, who seem matured and understanding, all she has to do is sit them down and let them know that they came late; and that she's committed to someone else and that's all.........some of them sef end up becoming very good friends of us both when they hear our story. I'm talking about the matured ones among them Ooh, of which I still handle those kinda folks with great care. As far as love goes well: a Man I respect told me something interesting. Don't ever believe or say that you love someone or you are attracted to someone and that's why you are married to them or want to get married to them. You are very wrong, because in this world, there are over 6 billion wonderful created by God that you are yet to experience. You will marry and still find out that you love or attracted to someone else for one reason or the other - be it physique, special quality or attribute etc. This he believes, is why the Bible never teaches us to choose to marry who we love, but rather to love who we choose to marry. This is why its wise to first consider the character of the person and the goals, plans and ambitions he/she has and you have for your own life; if the lady or guy's life or where the fellow is going with his/her life is desirable and there is love and an attraction to the fellow, then give the fellow a chance. And start observing the fellow and build a foundation of trust! Some ladies just get close to a guy they feel can take care of them, after all he is working and after the wedding he insists you must drop ya degree and do housewife against your own God given dreams/goals. Quarrel in the home starts, meanwhile he is attracted to one lady with very big yansh - bigger that the one that attracted him to his wife - in his office whey dey cut eye for am; before you know it, he will say he loves that one better than his wife, after all his wife sef dey give am headache for house. Before you know the marriage start loosing it grips on them both, madam is systematically neglected, divorce/separation is just around the corner, simply because you guys no take time build trust and establish what your goals in life are and see if each other plans/character fits!! This is exactly how purpose driven relationships and marriages are born. For me Marriage isn't a relationship, its something that's supposed to reaffirm the relationship; and if the relationship isn't strong enough or both parties aren't totally committed to the relationship before the marriage. Then your wedding/marriage is just a waste of logistics. This is one reason I and the person I am with individually never believed in double dating or "sampling"!! Focus on a fellow and totally observe the human being. No-one is perfect, no matter how trickish or smart the fellow is, time will reveal his/her true colour!! But when you have like 2 or 3 persons that you put on a list that you are trying to observe at the same time; you may just make errors!! Dating and observing one person is almost like a full-time Job, you na 3 U wan observe, say wetin happen!!?? U na INEC staff or are U an election observer!! ![]() |
PunterTim:Well bro, there is one thing I believe so strongly and it is this "Love is by faith and not by force." And I do remember saying it took 8years to "capture" and 6years to get a Yes or No answer!! And By capture, I mean getting a oneway ticket down the aisle. Whether she loves me or not is not in doubt, plus that timeframe has helped us to build a trust base that is inpenetrable as well as understand each other so well, its like we are siamese twins!! As for the torture, well I didn't really count it as torture. But when I compare it with the way folks of these days build relationships, you could say it looks a lot like torture. But then, looking at the way people build relationships these days, it kinda of understandable why broken marriages and men/women who still have concubines when they are married exist. When I sought for a lady, way back then, I was looking for someone I could love and trust -body and soul - with my life for the rest of my life. I didn't have an 8year seeking program, it just happened and I don't regret it, neither was she afraid to gamble, for her it was a high stakes game and she cashed in. Besides, what is 8years behind us, compared to the number of years that we by God's grace we have to enjoy before?? When we look back at those years, we just laugh, cause it was filled with fun, laughs, and some silent/OYO tears. There's also our friends that witnessed those times with us which makes it all the more a fun story whenever we choose to take a trip down memory lane so it kinda interesting........... |
sonofananimal:No offense taken! And for the record, she is still a virgin so there is no fvcked or unfvcked Mugu here!! Plus if you truly love someone and are totally commited to that person - body and soul - 8years to capture a woman will feel like 8 weeks or even 8 days. Cheers. |
Rapmoney:This is typically what happens around me all the time. Mr A sees lady A on his way to a friends place. Very beautiful, big ass and cute lips. He goes Omo mehm I need to collect phone number, make I see ukwu chop and he is on a chase. If she gree give am number and she gree make e chop na saraaah be the girl name. The stability of that relationship is tied to the possibilty of him seeing and accessible another lady with a bigger ass and cuter lips!! Or better still, MR A has a lady A he is dating/engaged to but he sees a Lady B that suits his fancy, he swoops in for the kill to chop and clean mouth, at the end of the day, that relationship is going nowhere because he has made no honest or sincere commitment in anyway!! I have seen live, a case of a couple here in Nigeria - lagos to be precise - and not hollywood or on The Kardashians that got married on Saturday and by the next saturday, Oga wants a divorce!! By the end of the month the marriage was dissolved!! The guy na NNPC staff the babe na bank worker!! I don't need that kind of drama in my life so I chose to wait patiently for my missing rib!! On a lighter note, don't be surprised, some of the folks - emphasis on some - whey dey call babe hard to get na konji na e dey worry them no be say babe dey hard to get or the guy himself dey "hard-to-accept"! ![]() Maybe she appreciate his company as a platonic friend, instead he mis-interprets it as a mixture of "love + Hard-to-get"; is it her fault that his intelligence as a man no enter relationship issues?? |
Rapmoney:Now let get the facts right!! 1.) That you think my opinion is invalid doesn't make it invalid; its a matter of perception, in any case I wasn't trying to make a valid opinion. I simply disagreed with the write-up of the OP based on my experience, just as it appears you have agree with the write-up of the OP for whatever reason you chose. 2.) I never said she was virtuous, I simply said I didn't think her hard to get and that's because I valued her companionship; believe me I wasn't the only person who tried to gain her attention. Infact, at one time, I remember her telling me of someone who tried to date her. - years before I even met her - who she declined several times but he kept persisting for close to 3months. After declining the young man's request numerous times; one day when she was rushing to catch a tutorial in campus, the guy appears out of nowhere pestering her and professing love and asking her to give him a chance, and then she turned to him, and told him firmly that she was not interested, had no plans of being interested and can never be interested because she had much more important things in her life that needed her attention; one of which as of right now he was delaying her from achieving and asked to be excused. And then she turned to leave. The same "Mr-Romeo", grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her vigorously and called her a worthless pathetic, ugly, skinny looking bitch who was just totally ungrateful that a successful fellow like him even chose to give her a portion of his time and told her that she was foolish to reject him because he was the best she could ever get in life and then he left!! Imagine if she was "easy to get", if I may use that expression. No be one-chance motor be that guy so?? 3.) I also said the reason a man will call a lady hard to get is because he hasn't yet assessed a lady to establish her worth or better still he tried and didn't get her!! When I knew the type of lady I was dealing with, I just patiently went after her!! I also remember saying that I tried for 8 years to "capture" her and for 6 of those years she didn't give me a yes or no answer not even an "I will think about it" answer. I never felt she was hard to get then really, I was just delighted to meet someone I could relate to and was taking out the time to know her better and find out if she was really who she said she was. Its only looked that way because most of my friends had walked in and out of several relationships with different ladies the same time I used to gain just one which is still solid till today, Besides, wisdom or common sense demands that she knows who she is dealing with first, so she doesn't get hedged in with a complete psycho!! if she must say yes; she needs a reason to, if she must say no; she needs a reason to. You can't subscribe to something you have no knowledge about the same apply to people and relationships. Chikenan!! |
Hmmmmmm.............. On behalf of all hard to get ladies and all responsible men who are enjoying their relationships and marriages with their hard won "Eminados"; I disagree!! Whether men be intelligent, high or low self esteem, direction or directionless, being hard to get isn't a factor. On the contrary, the only reason any man will consider a woman/lady "hard to get" is if he hasn't taken out time to observe a lady to establish her worth or he is attracted to her simply because of the "goods or luggage" she is carrying or he didn't get her eventually. Once the true value of a ladies companionship is assessed and established; it doesn't even occur to you that she is actually playing hard to get; that is until you get her anyway!! It cost me 8 full years to capture my personal, customised, one in a million "asamkpokoto", my original eminado - not all those pirated software everywhere - and for 6 of those years I never got a yes or no answer not even an "I will think about it" answer!! That didn't stop my vision and dreams, on the contrary it shapened it, because they are lot of things a typical man in life may take for granted, until a remarkable lady with a focus and vision for her own life too and the dexterity to pursue it appears on the scene; na there parade go change Oooh!! If a man, claims to be intelligent, busy, an introvert, has high self esteem, focus and other such mumbo-jumbo, hocus-pocus, slippity-slam; when he sees a woman/lady that has value and high net-worth in the field of matrimony and a life-long partnership and companionship, his calendar, schedule, ward-robe, spending habits, feeding habits, life-style, even the way he dey waka will change to accommodate a jewel of inestimable value!! In any case, in my own particular example/experience, the issue wasn't whether she was hard or soft or easy to get. I was more concerned with finding out if there is something I was missing; getting to understand this type of person fully, so I know if I am looking down the wrong lane. Of course there were times when it looked like I was just wasting my time; especially considering that most guys around me use the same period I use to get her to walk in and out of at least 10 different babes/relationship and chop, clean mouth waka!! But where/what are those relationships now; compared to what I have?? So I disagree with the article entirely; what I don't advise is playing hard to get just for the fun of it!! Like a rite of passage he must go through just because you say so; if you are keeping him on a waiting list so that you can observe if the person in question is sincere and is someone whom you can cope with for the rest of ya life; I think there's nothing wrong with playing "Hard-to-get" or whatever name it is called these days!! #MyOwn10Kobo |
TRUTHTOPOWER:Ah ah!! Where we colonized by the Americans or the british!!?? ![]() |
The average Nigerian believes firmly that Corruption is one of the biggest problem we have in this great country!! I on the other hand, believe that it is an orientation they have received consistently over 3 decades of rule/misrule, which they have unfortunately carried into this democratic era which is erroneous! On the contrary, the core problem in this country is education!! This is why even though our Lingua Franca is english in Nigeria, we are still required to write TOEFL (Test for English as a Foreign Language) when we seek to study in the UK, but ghanians on the other hand are excused!! Some may wonder, "what is this fellow saying sef? Is he Ok??" Think about it for a minute, when we wanted to conduct elections in this country -presidential elections et. al.; everyone from politicians, to leaders of thought, traditional leaders, civil society groups to even foreign leaders emphasised that rule of law be obeyed and constitutional requirements be followed and that the "I" in INEC be activated so that we can have credible results!! Election results were announced, we knew the winners and losers; everyone insisted that the rule of law be respected and nothing must affect the constitutional accepted handover dates - May 29 for Presidency!! But the new government comes into power, it wants to "tackle" corruption; so it arrests some folks arbitrarily and then releases bits & pieces of info in the media alleging massive "Looting" and then Jail them in a manner contrary to Nigerian law and some people say "It is good for them; jail them all"!! Why?? Because they are thieves, they looted the treasury, carted away our commonwealth!! I ask an honest question - which forms the basis/core of any court judgement; How did you know they stole this money? Where you there? Can you actually prove that they did what you accuse them of or is it just gossip?? Is this a misunderstanding or mis-communication ??Is there undeniable evidence that they actually stole this money?? Where is your proof?? Hmmmm.........Dasuki is a good example!! He alleged - I say alleged because I wasn't there - that his house was invaded without a search warrant & his personal properties removed without his permission - which is actually illegal according to Nigeria law, the same law that states how elections are done, won and power handed over. He was charged to a Nigerian court - that operates based on Nigerian law might I add - for diverting cash meant for arms and illegal possession of weapons!! He is remanded in government custody, then sleeps in Prison for some days, he files for bail and the court gives minding boggling conditions for bail and grants him permission to travel abroad for routine medical check-up with his doctor, he meets bail conditions; but he is re-arrested, his international passport is seized and after some days charged in another court on different counts of offences in another court. The second court judge remands him in prison, he files for bail again, the second court give their own condition for bail, he meets them and then he is re-arrested again!! This time he is charged in another court, meanwhile the first court is expecting him to have returned from his medical trip abroad and to be in court by January 18th since technically he is on bail - but this doesn't happen because he is in prison and the lawyer cannot say he is in prison because it will amount to contempt of court - infact, the lawyer quickly withdraws an application previously filed to block Dasuki's bail and replaces it with another application asking for a secret trial that won't be covered by the media!! Now this gets my attention; when they wanted to arrest him, they brought cameras, they wanted to take him to Kuje Prison they called the media; now when the details of how the "Yams" where taken is to be discussed/argued, they are now seeking media blackout citing protection for witnesses!! Why?? Goodluck Jonathan has consistently been quoted as saying that there was never any $2.1billion arms deal and that there is no way that $2.1billion will wander out of government treasury because $2.1billion isn't #2.1billion!! He has also stated that there is no way that $2.1billion will leave government coffers that he will be able to pay federal workers salaries; so how come Buhari is prosecuting Dasuki for a non-existent deal?? He also insisted that there is no way $2.1billion dollars will leave government coffers that the US won't know. Lets think about it; ibori who was fished out by scotland stole far far far less than a billion dollars, it was actually a few million dollars and he was found out; Dasuki/Jonathan removed not one but over two billion dollars and DSS/EFCC is still investigating as at the time of first arrest and court case, and saying they discovered fresh offences?? What are the details of the deal?? Who are the dealers?? If there was a actually deal, who were the proposed suppliers and what were the precise items to be supplied and how and when were they to be delivered?? At least they will be in a position to confirm the existence of such a deal to the shame of Jonathan and PDP!! I was hoping that they would have been kind enough to reveal the details of the deal; or the proposal but that isn't the case!! If you half an education, then you know that abusing court processes or disobeying court orders doesn't help you win court cases; plus when you start sharing offence(s) counts in different courts, you risk double Jeopardy in the event that you lose one case. One thing is clear, except Buhari wants to conduct a military trial for Dasuki; he must do it in a Nigerian court according to Nigerian law and on no account will the Judiciary be blackmailed/stampeded into doing anything illegal or unlawful. Trying to do a repeat of what happened to Al-mustapha where you waste tax-payers funds by endless litigation that leads nowhere because of shabby handling by FG; then when things go sour, you blame it on corrupt judges won't work here!! If Dasuki stole, you will prove it in Open court according to Nigerian law and all Nigerians whether APC, OPC, PDP, APGA or Politically neutral will witness it and learn what true democracy is all about and then we will truly know if the $2.1billion is a reality or a figment of the mischievous political imagination of APC and Buhari!! And if anybody goes to Jail or sleeps in prison, they will go or sleep there; not because they were illegally detain by a vision-less head of state or a corrupted and highly manipulated state intelligence or anti-corruption agencies but because they were prosecuted according to Nigerian laws, by Nigerian courts and were found Guilty as charged and not guilty by party affiliation!! |
I haven't followed the Lassa story but Obviously they are handling this matter poorly!! Lassa unlike Ebola has always had a treatment regimen that is sure to save infected patients provided it is detected early!! The problem is that this government came in by politicizing issues so it is trapped in a cage that it built around the presidency when they were in opposition - using the media - and is now trying to use Media blackout to dismatle that cage. Unfortunately, we still have a constitution that educated people know how to use attain their rights!! Buhari should immediately dispense funds to all states to setup isolation and testing units as well as treatment centres irrespective of party affiliation and encourage the health minister to declare a medical emergency!! Most Lassa patients death is heralded by Massive multiple internal organ failure/collapse, a very terrible way to die - what some folks will call a sinner's death!! Only Irrrua Hospital in Edo state has a full isolation and testing unit to effectively cope with this; UCH ibadan at a time tried to maintain one but - I guess lack of funds caused it to dismantle it!! Even the Coordinator for the Emergency hotline for testing in UCH Ibadan is dead but his number hasn't been removed from their banners pasted in UCH till now - isn't it interesting to note that the former VC of UI is now health minister! You go to UCH to do Lassa fever test and you get the result in 2 to 3 days. Irrua can confirm if you are infected in 2hours; by the time you experience enough symptoms necessitate going to UCH, 2 days is enough for you to reach grave!! They better act fast and no excuses; they don't need a governor's child or buhari's daughter to get infected and die before they do what is right!! Chikenan!! |
MrsPhyno:Nobdy asked her to remove her Hijab or burka or whatever, but given the fact that she wanted to enter a public building/crowd, in a city where people have used that same veiled attire to perform successful sucide bombing attacks; then she shouldn't be offended if they insist she must be searched before she enters the building!! Except she shares the same sentiments about the people that suicide bombers seek to attack!! Before she got there, nobody asked her to do anything!! Even in Saudi arabia, if a woman, accompanied or unaccompanied, arrives veiled at the airport, they are searched so why should this woman's case be different!! I would have understood her offence/anger if a man wanted to search her but from the story here, it was obvious that awoman like her wanted to search her, so what is her problem?? If you don't want to be "Unveiled" then go away; after all I have not heard anywhere, were Sim registration is a requirement for obtaining Heaven in the Quran!! If you want to do sim registration, then do what is required; if you can't do it, then go home and stop conducting yourself in a way that endangers people or take actions that are against public interest!! Chikenan!! |
mrvitalis:U obviously don't follow proceedings on the floor of the senate consistently or even news for that matter, otherwise, you won't say this. At least even if you don't have time to review daily sittings of the senate at least you would have heard in the news that he raised a motion for the implementation of the 5000 naira stipend as promised by Buhari which was viciously attacked by APC senators. I am personally aware of 2 issues/motions he has raised on the senate floor; so my good friend, you are quite wrong!! |
I am not a fan of viviangist!! But if what is said is true; that will explain why counsel to the FG - the prosecutor - will withdraw the application to stop his bail!! If he didn't, then it will appear as though the Prosecutor deliberately held Dasuki and don't want to release/present him in court, and given that Dasuki was last in custody of the FG agencies; that amounts to contempt of court which will definitely reduce the FG's chance of securing a conviction!! Dasuki won't be given a secret trial, cause the federal government so far has been handling the case in a shabby manner!! Already the Judge is already concerned about Dasuki getting fair hearing, given Dasuki's absence and the willingness for FG to proceed with the trial in absentia! Dasuki is on bail - as far as the Judge handling this case is concerned - and normally, the counsel to the FG should have appealed for the Revok of Dasuki's bail given his absence instead he acts unperturbed, withdraws an application previously filed to have his bail revoked and wants a secret trial; he is not concerned that Dasuki may have jumped bail - which he hasn't because technically FG didn't let him go - rather he wants the trial details made secret; any judge worth his onions will wait to see Dasuki and demand to know why he was absent, na there prosecuting counsel go buy Job!!! I must say that I am appalled at the way Buhari's administration is going; it will appear that Buhari through Lai Mohammed may already have muzzled the press as we speak!! Today, he doesn't want Dasuki's trial to be made public; as I speak with you all, SSANU, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities have been on strike since december last year!! First they went on a warning strike from last year which ended on the 6th of January - and Buhari didn't even bother to give them audience! Now they are on a full blown strike and for some wonderful reason, the strike seems to be under-reported by the media, a strike that is observed even by UNILORIN - to tell you the magnitude of the strike. For those who aren't aware, they are striking because the FG broke an MOU covering staff working in University staff schools which led to the sack of 2000 staff across 31 Federal universities and FG isn't budging!! HmmmmmM..............well God help us all!!! |
Number one: She is not a minister wife!! If she were, then she would have been enlightened at least to a certain extent about the trends in socio-political circles enough to know that the only way she would have entered that building - without being searched - is if she came with security aides who would assisted her in getting the right conditions to register that won't compromise her reilgious beliefs!! The authenticity of the identity of the security aides would have sufficed and would have been enough to cover her! Number Two: She has no iota of exposure in her body; why? If so, why not call your husband before you got there to ask for permission to be "unveiled". In any case, the easiest way to avoid all this ruckus was to simply give her husband her sim card to go and register! Abi?? That would have been the best way, after all he is her husband!! It would have been at that point that he would have asked her to go herself and then get permission to be unveiled!! Number 3: What wisdom is there in generating an Identity for which you cannot be identified!!?? The registration is meant for Industry regulators, service providers and security agencies to have a datapoint to glean information in the event that it is necessary!! If you know you can't take off the hijab or is it burka, then why go there?? Scenerio: Let us assume that someone else went there, dressed fully veiled! Pleaded with the police officer as par woman-to-woman!! And then after 10minutes later, screamed "Allahu-akbar" and detonated a bomb and the Son of that woman - her only child - was in that room and the child died!! How will she feel, if she eventually hears that a woman was let in, fully veiled and wasn't searched by security officials and she turned out to be a sucide bomber and now her only child is dead!!?? Let her Allah be her Judge!! |
bigiyaro:Bros na wah for you Oooh!! Nor dey use poverty brag abeg; if your money no reach buy this kind thing nor fear!! God can still do it and give you a tear rubber miracle............... ![]() |
ayindepremier: This is most unfortunate!! I guess you were unfortunate, in that, you were taught that for 16years and even till now, all the governors that ruled Lagos state were from PDP!! ![]() May God open your eyes to the sweet joys of basic education!! Please like if you wish to express your Amen to this prayer for this poor, unfortunate soul!! |
SignalNG1:Wait Oooh!! So it is CBN/CBN-governor now that doled out cash now and not Nkonjo Iweala via Ministry of finance?? Hmmmmmm.........Jonathan will soon answer una. By the time he is done, this current administration will be so discredited internationally that Buhari would be too ashamed to make another Foreign trip!! That time they will stop sending lai mohammed or Adesina or Garba; Osibanjo would be forced to become the substantive minister of information, just like Buhari is the substantive minister for petroluem!! Na that time dem go know say their propaganda license don expire!!! |
And some ladies will say they are fat?? ![]() |
tafrica:And the "Sai Baba" crew will say, "It is Jonathan's fault"!! Bill Clinton, Former President of the USA is famous for making a very straight talk/ punch-line when he was asked about his success in handling the America economy!! "What new ideas did we bring to Washington? I always give a one-word answer: Arithmetic. " Macro-economic management is not a game of honesty or a game of morality it is a game of numbers!! In Billi clinton's words on economic recovery ".......its passes the arithmetic test and it passes the values test......." Does it make sense to have a restrictive Policy on Foreign exchange and ask foreign investors to come and put money in your economy!!?? Does it make sense to say on one end that you want to stimulate the economy, diversify Local Macro-economic activities and on the other end lift import ban on rice?? ![]() Consider this against a backdrop, that the daily demand for rice in Lagos state alone amounts to 800,000 bags daily!! This does not take into account demands for rice in all other major cities with seaport nor the other 35states of the federation!! Does it make sense to seek to prosecute a Major/Prominent Retired Militant - who is a major party in an amnesty peace deal - at a time when the military hasn't even begun to figure out how to effective curtail Boko Haram and Shiites sects at the same time?? Does any of this add up?? Folks who are sympathetic to Buhari, will always put an argument in defence of his actions/inactions, need to understand one thing - still borrowing Bill clinton's word!! "You don't have to hate a man to disagree with him" And you don't need to wait till fire burns the corner of the street where your house is, before you raise alarm for it to be put off either!! If the man - Buhari - is making progress, we hail him!! If the man is retrogressing, we nail him!! But raising an argument that the reason why he can't make the progress we seek - which he actually promised of his own will, without any duress/pressure/force of any kind - is because of the past administration which has totally given all power to him as President!! Then I raise a counter-argument that the new President - inspite of the power attached to his office - is less powerful than the former one!! Then let him resign and handover to someone who can cope, lead and give us results!! If he can't fix the economy, no wahala, then let him put the economy in the state that he met it when he took over power!! At least, then we know things were still far better than it is right now - and they were stealing money - as opposed to him and amaechi and Co that have never received bribes in their life but the economy don Jogodo!!
