rusher14:Ogbeni!!! During the last election campaigns, Fashola himself said that "any serious government interested in providing power for Nigerians can do so within 6months, afterall it is not rocket science" Nobody is judging Fashola based on the current train of events but based on his own personal assessment of the power sector before he became minister. Your comment, Fashola's comment before he became Minister of Power and the current state of power in the country are just further proof that Fashola was just pulling scenerio's out of his ass when he was assessing the power sector during the electoral campaigns. By your own line of comment, even Fashola is a slowpoke. When the late Bola Ige of Blessed memory was Minister of Power during the Obasanjo era; President Obasanjo was forced to admit that "Bola Ige was a great lawyer, but as Minister of power, he didn't know his left from his right" The same simply repeated itself here. As governor of Lagos, Fashola distinguished himself, as Minister of Power, well...............he hold the National record of overseeing the power ministry when it delivered exactly zero megawatts of power Nationwide. Now ain't karma a B I t c h. |
eyeview:What do U expect?? Body language don tire abi na body odour; na selfie na e body language dey take now Ooh!! From Dasuki, to 2016 budget. Selfie taking all the way!! That is the only change that you can expect from a selfie taking government!! N.B:- Wait Ooh!! Is it possible that Lai Mohammed got the inspiration to "Repackage" masquerade for employment from the 2 Masquerades that were suppose to testify against Nnamdi Kanu and Dasuki in court!!?? ![]() ................Wait lemme go and ask these IPOB people!! ![]() |
I for one, marvel at folks who try to hold forte for Lai Mohammed's as regards his statement of Masquerades being "Repackaged" to employ Nigerians!! Lai Mohammed made a comment that clearly display his talent for telling lies. It is largely on the basis of this comment that his entire deposition is discredited; also it is largely on the basis of this particular comment that the Honourable members of the House of Reps raise questions as to to how he intends to generate employment through tourism!! Please note that I am paraphrasing and not quoting verbatim. "That there are Maquerades in the South-East - E don go find trouble for IPOB people side - that require a 100 people to dress them up and another 100 people to UnCloth" He also suggested that rebranding the masquerade preparations can provide employment opportunities for 1000 people!! All those people arguing in favour of Lai Mohammed are simply trying to make "a way where they seems no way". Something me I know say na only Baba God dey do and not Buhari nor Lai Mohammed. I am from Edo state, and I know that except we want to create masquerades just for the sake of tourism; not just any tom, dick and harry is permitted to be involved in preparations of masquerade - a lot of them which have Occultic/Spiritual implications which are closely linked to our culture. Except for folks who are willing to bastardize their cultural heritage for "green-backs" from tourist, in certain communities in Edo-state; such idea is just dead on arrival. Highest, they televise the festivals and invite local and international bodies to sponsor it, that's all. Anything other than that, is living within the realm of Lai Mohammed's vivid imagination, which I perceive is very roboust; judging from the big big lies the guy dey blow daily!! |
mrvitalis:Bros Eeeeeeeeeyeeeeee!!! ![]() Please stop all this noise and just apply naaah!! Then come hia later and share ya testimony!! Abi!!?? At least, it is not forbidden if Nairalanders learn from you naaaaah!!! Afterall, if it can generate employment that can boost our economy, then it must be profitable!! Engineer or not makes no difference!! After all, the current GMD/CEO of UBA is an engineer by training!! Bill gates discipline before he initially left college was law now he's an industry software giant!! Whether God sent lai mohammed at such a time as this to revive your calling as an International Professional Masquerade dresser, you nor know!! ![]() |
Fact of the matter!! The Commissioner of Police of Enugu was not sacked!! He is a staff of Government which means he cannot be arbitrarily sacked like a Bus-Conductor or Agbero somewhere. He was simply re-deployed to another state; Plateau state to be precise. Don't allow the Op's header to confuse you; to sack him will require a formal query and an orderly room trial before he can be sacked!! Let us learn to identify lies and propaganda sold by this "Selfie Taking" government so that we can be welll informed!! Another lie that some Zombies - let me digress briefly - are believing is that Saraki will go to jail if found guilty at Code of Conduct Trial ,CCT. CCT is a special administrative court of the CCB, and does not have the ability to sentence anyone to prison. They can only ban people from holding public office - for a limited time -and seize assets!! CCB will have to take the outcome of a CCT trial, build on it and seek to imprison an accused in a regular court!! Also CCT is not under the Nigerian Judiciary but under the Presidency via Office ofthe Secretary General of the Federation - which is why the NASS sought to amend the CCB act to bring CCT/CCB under the Judiciary - to avoid the Presidency abusing CCB and using it to proesecute political foes!! Please let's know the truth cos that is what will set us free!! #OneLove |
Destined2win:Bros U wicked Oooh!! ![]() Wetin!!?? Leave Baba's penis out of this matter Ooh!!! Ah ah!! ![]() |
yerilistik:Competent people ba? Like Amaechi - Minister of Transport - and Kayode Fayemi - Minister Of Solid minerals and our darling Lai Mohammed - Minister of Information AKA Linus!! Well!! What else can you expect from a "Selfie taking" government!!?? Everything na inconclusive, from bye-election, to election, to National Budgetary Appropriation Bill!! All matters in this change government na Inconclusive!! |
After all is said and done, some of the world's most prestigious super models are all slim!! So being slim can't be all that bad!! Besides, being slim sometimes presents and advantage in the labor room when the baby wanna come out. |
$2Billion!!?? My friend stop telling dull lies and go buy "Linus" form from Lai Mohammed!! Aisha Buhari rice still dey shak una!! As far as I am concerned, this story is coming from a rice eater!! |
What type of political nonsense and Jamboree is this!! This is how they deceived Nigerians!! You have not finish paying the gbese of the workers salary that you are owing. Because you have elections in September and you want to make your party to remain in power; you are announcing this nonsense!! Pay the over 4 months salary gbese of #18k minimum wage then you can announce this later!! I tire for this my governor ooh!! ![]() The only foreign direct investment this man carry come edo state for over 8years, nor dey bring one Naira instead e dey collect workers salary follow!! All the way from South africa, that's bottom power for you!! Na Waooh!!! ![]() |
Lixa1:WAEC office at Ogba!! Its popular with public transport buses |
adconline:U said enugu "Gets" as though someone - in this case FG - gives it to them as opposed to the actual case which is enugu "Budgets"!! I guess that what got my attention as far as your comment is concerned!! Plus, I am unaware that they budget that much! #40million was deemed suited once upon a time. Nevertheless, I believe the governor didhis best under the circumstances. If I hold a meeting as governor with the representative of GOC 82 division, DSS, and Nigerian police. And they place request for items required to guarantee security of an area with assurance and I provide it, I don't expect anything else to go wrong. At least even if I expect the police to fail or DSS, I won't expect a military regional commander to fail!! All the governor has to do is stop providing any logistics to any of those agencies -which is a waste of resources seeing how poorly they performed - and channel his energy towards raising a neighbour-hood watch or vigilante group!! That's all!! |
BlackTechnology:Well!! I guess he misplaced his faith in assurances given to him by the police, army and DSS!! Come to think of it, if this is how these guys are carrying on in enugu, imagine what is happening in the North east with Boko Haram!! Afterall, all attacks by fulani herdsmen were initially dismissed as minor by security operatives; from Agatu, to Taka, to enugu and these are places were the media have easy access !! Imagine Borno, yobe where the press thread with serious caution. Only God knows how the people there are coping!! |
adconline:You never showed me any info - except a link to a page on Nairaland, that has a link to news archives of allafrica.com - that in the absence of Sullivan chime, they were worried about how security votes were spent. Nothing in that page says Mr President gave that money to the governor as security vote. Think about it, if Mr Pesident gave such, then why Did Kwankwanso of Kano state have zero Naira allocated to his state as security vote?? Because there are no insecurity issues in Kano state?? Come on!! Use your unbiased mind, it called a "vote" for a reason!! |
adconline:Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!! To the best of my understanding, security vote is at the discretion of the government. The basic across board used to be #40million, I guess moststates have jacked up their budget!! In simple english, "I am budgetting amount X as security vote". Federal government sends cash to the states, what they do with it is their thoro!! That's why you see the imbalance in the figures. And for the record, Nairaland is a fora where opinions are expressed through "Typed" text. Nobody really talks on Nairaland, its not an audio chat!! Just thought I should chip that in.......... |
Who U epp?? Nor dey form jorrr!! Go collect wailing wailer form jare!! Abi R U a learner!!?? ![]() |
adconline:My friend don't be petty!! Security vote is #40million Naira monthly and no more; besides if you read the deposition put forth by the governor, DSS, Nigerian army, Nigeria Police - SARS, were all at that meeting. Who told you that it was 2 or 3 million Naira that he gave to all these people!?? Tafia papa!! Whatever dogma you hold about Nigerian politicians doesn't change the fact that he informed the Security operatives before hand and provided them the logistics they required hence he is absolved from all blame. Constitutionally, he is not required to give a dime to federal agencies of government, as a state governor, if he does so, he does it out of perceived necessity which is understandable given the fact that Buhari is now holding forte for fulani, na only to issue orders to military for twitter, facebook and Nairaland na e buhari sabi!! Police, DSS, Army - in short, even agbero - must come and tell the people of enugu what they where doing when Buhari's village people went on rampage!! |
potbelly:I tire Ooh!! See as them cram themselves inside Dinning of mansion like cabin biscuit!! Isn't a multi-million Naira mansion supposed to be big and outlandish Some people's comments at times betray their level of education and exposure!! |
The Truth is bitter but it must be said!! General Muhammadu Buhari is not fit to rule this country mentally, physically and spiritually! In much more developed climes, where literacy levels are high, a manlike him would never have access to the Presidency!! The man has a lot of baggage and he is not ready to forgo them even in the interest of National peace and progress!! From Dasuki - who arrested him in 1984 and is now facing trial for diverting #25billion, meanwhile he told the world throught his Liar Mohammed that $2.1billion was the figure that was missing - to fulani's that seem to be killing more Nigerians than Boko Haram. I sincerely and honestly believe from the depth of my heart, that God used May 29 2015 to heal his heart and compensate him for all General Babangida did to him after the palace coup of 1984 that pushed him out of office as well as give him a second chance to right all the wrongs of his past in office - some of which he has apologised for privately and public, the awolowo family being an example!! But the worst thing he can do to himself is to repeat the set of mistakes twice!! He would have no excuses to give his fans, friends, family and even his maker when he crosses!! Buhari was known for being brash and unyielding to counsel especially when he was dealing in unfamiliar terrain from oil and gas to the economy!! Plus he lost power to someone whom even his most trusted second in command (Major General Idiagbon of blessed memory who is almost twice as fierce/harsh/brash/strict as Buhari) warned him not to trust and that man was babangida!! Now he has sorrounded himself with all manner of strange political bedfellows!! Even the most zealous of folks who want to be sincere have asked, why the bloody hell did U allow folks like amaechi who have excess baggage and questions sorrounding their public life in office!! And he acts aloof!! My prayer is that he won't fail nor will he disappoint his friends and family and his maker that gave him a second chance. But, if we are to judge by what our eyes see, what our ears are hearing; all is still not well with the fellow!! He needs to wake up fast, because the same people who are shouting "Hosanna! Hosanna!!" In the blink of an eyes will still scream "Crucify him! Crucify him!!". May God almighty help the fellow sha; cos all I see is a "Selfie-Taking" government!! ![]() |
Baawaa:He will see their end tactically abi technically!!?? ![]() |
idupaul:So now na America dey responsible for Boko Haram getting the upper hand and not the Nigeriian military or the Chief In Command of the armed force Presideent Buhari!! Its alright! Make una continnu!! ![]() |
How the Hell is this car a cabriolet!!?? |
Esseite:Its in your back pocket (at least what's left of it), the one they gave you before you thumb-printed APC for Presidency and governorship and after you followed them to campaign ground with APC flag!! So kontinuu to enjoy ya change!! ![]() |
Silently ba? But when they discovered graves buried with Just 5 people believed to be Fulani herdsmen in Abia state; they blamed IPoB and SSS openly started making case but fulani killed over 500 people in Agatu and the Fulani mafia government say na working "silently" be the best answer!!! What else can you expect from a "selfie taking" government!! If you give buhari/lai chance; them for snap picture of Buhari with fulani people dey waka "tip-toe", come caption the picture; "Buhari working Sliently on Fulani matters!!" Rubbish!! |
igboboy3:You forgot to add "Body Language". |
Standing5:I value and share your optimism about the current government but don't wait to get burnt before at least the truth is acknowledged!! Boko Haram laid waste to 113 batallion at Kareto and held the entire Army, Airforce and navy in a standoff that lasted 10hrs; is that a group that you can honestly say has been defeated by the federal government!!?? 2 days later, Ag. GOC Division 7 was attacked by Boko Haram, his aide killed and he barely escaped with his life - if you understand military Hierarchy, then you know that a GOC is not a small child - while on a tour of his units/battallions. These two events let me know that Boko haram have both increased military capacity and intelliegence - 2 things they didn't have during Jonathan's final months in office, which made it possible for elections to be held in all local governments in the North in 2015 - so how can they acquire this now and still be defeated at the same time!!?? Everybody hails kareto as a success - which is true if you look at it dispassionately because Nigeria won the battle - but given the fact that Buhari himself said that Boko Haram's capability to launch coordinated attacks on Military installations and cities have been decimated and that Boko haram have been reduced to bomb attacks, then Kareto is a setback and a failure. The government needs to placed under pressure to act fast before they become complacent most especially when everybody is hailing them for a non-existent unparalleled success!! Don't wait, till you or a loved one is receiving Food and stipends in an IDP camp before you say the plain truth, inspite of your optimism!! And yes!! Fulani herdsmen and Hausa folks have always been known to attack each other and communities particularly in the middle belt and the North during President Jonathan's administration; but attacking communities in the south wholesale is trend for Buhari government!! Fulanis and farmers having issues in the farms during grazing is usual but what is unusual is fulani's attacking communities in the south in states like Oyo, Rivers, Edo. Fulanis have also attacked travellers on Federal Highways, at least I remember Brig General Slyvester Iruh was killed by fulani herdsmen who tried to rob him when he had a flat tire on Lagos--Ibadan expressway during Yar-adua's tenure but attacking villages in the south is new!! When they attack inthe North, the security operatives dismiss them as simple disputes over land turn wild; what will they say in the case of rivers or oyo, abi fulani wan claim land for south again!!?? |
By Dele Sobowale “All animals are equal; but, some animals are more equal than others”. George Orwell, 1903-1950 in ANIMAL FARM. “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.”—Eleanor Roosevelt, 1884-1962, wife of late American President. From Agatu to Akure to Aba the story is the same. For that matter from Abia to Zamfara states and the Federal Capital Territory, the Federal government and its security agencies have apparently created two classes of Nigerians – herdsmen and the rest of us. Notice, please that I did not add Fulani because they are not all Fulani or even all Nigerians. The reason is simple, I was once a cattle owner and several of the nomads engaged by the later supervisor, Yinusa Idi, who lived in a settlement near Gezawa in Kano State, were Fulani or Nigeriens. From what seemed like time immemorial, the herdsmen and women, it needs to be added, had been given a special licence to trespass on the lands and farms of other Nigerians with impunity. Although it is difficult to determine the date when it occurred, they now seem to have also acquired the licence to kill with impunity. During President Shehu Shagari’s administration, Nigeria’s Mobile Police became known as “Kill and Go”. Today, the herdsmen have become the unofficial “Kill and Go”. The evidence is not difficult to find and indeed it was the official response to two incidents in Agatu, Benue State and Abia State which eventually triggered my anger against the Nigerian government and the security agencies. The two episodes represented the face of the Nigerian government as seen by the rest of us who are not part of the nomad community. Before proceeding let me ask a few questions of the Nigeria Police, the DSS, and the Army. Is it possible for me, a responsible citizen, never convicted of any crime, or even charged to court for any crime, to carry an AK-47 strapped to my back and openly walk through Lagos for three hours without being stopped and arrested? Is it possible that I could, still with the weapon, stroll into the compound of a man in Ningi, Kano State, sit under a tree and not get arrested? Twelve years ago, in Oyo State, before getting the property fenced, herdsmen, with weapons, who had invaded the area for more than three days, ended on my property and decided to camp for the night. Nothing would move them. I leave that incident for now, because of what followed that insult and assault on the community. Now, let us turn to the Agatu and Abia cases which have made anger to boil over. As the whole world is aware, herdsmen invaded Agatuland, not once but at least three times. Unknown numbers of people were slaughtered, houses were razed and other properties destroyed – leaving thousands of Nigerians homeless and destitute (the living dead) or dead (perhaps the lucky ones). Based on the response from Aso Rock, the Police, the Army and the DSS, the death of so many cockroaches might have received more sympathy. The Police rubbed salt upon an open sore when they tried to play down genocide which left a United Nations official, not a Nigerian, in tears after visiting the area. So, we know how government officials feel about the Agatu people and their assailants. The Agatu cannot expect any security from the government. They are strictly on their own. The killers also received a signal, loud and clear, from government. They can do it again and get away with it. The story moves to Abia State where incredible news reports informed us that the DSS was investigating the alleged murder of five (5) (that is right; 5 not 500-plus as in Agatu) herdsmen among several others buried in a mass grave in a bush somewhere. Since the DSS had again demonstrated that the majority of the victims of the mass murder don’t count, and only the “untouchable” five matter, let us then make some observations and raise a few questions. I know from personal experience that herdsmen usually don’t file any itinerary, i.e travel plan, with anyone. So, how on earth did the DSS know that five of them were in that vicinity? If they were among a larger group, and the rest escaped to report, who showed them the way to the Police or DSS office? During their initial investigation, did the DSS attempt to find out from the communities around, the atrocities the nomads had committed? There is another report that DNA test will be used to determine which of the corpses are those of the invaders (because that is what they are) of the Abia communities. What if the DNA test proves that none of them is a herdsman, are we to assume that the investigations will end, that the other Nigerians don’t count? If so that tells the rest of us a lot about the DSS. Let us now face some facts which have prompted the question asked at the top. It is possible that the Nigerian armed forces have less than 500,000 under arms. It is perhaps the largest in Africa. The group of nomads operating nationwide is about the same number and the communities over which they roam nationwide are almost 700,000. Even if a soldier is stationed in every community, a bloody waste, the armed forces can still not protect all of us. Each time a government official utters the statement “people should go about their legitimate business government will provide security”, I know a liar is talking. Routinely, armed herdsmen invade communities with no policeman or soldier within twenty kilometers of the village or farm. We must now ask the President of Nigeria what his advice for us is on this matter. Should we queue up one by one to be slaughtered when they come to our communities or should we fight back? As for me, like Eleanor Roosevelt said, I don’t accept second class citizenship. After building my wall, my community made it clear to the invaders that we will not lay down and die. There the matter stands. STOP TELLING US YOU SHARE OUR PAINS; YOU DON’T. “I share your pains”. President Buhari to Chibok parents. “I share your pains.” Governor Ambode to Lagos motorists broiling on queue waiting for fuel. President Jonathan, after driving the pump price of fuel up to N141 per litre on January 1, 2012, pronounced two weeks later “I share your pains” to citizens suddenly made poorer. I wrote on these pages NO, MR PRESIDENT, YOU DON’T SHARE OUR PAINS. I not only voted for Buhari and Ambode in the last elections, I championed the cause of a Christian Governor in Lagos State at a time when the owner of ACN had no such plan. I have been with Buhari since 2011. Until better candidates come along, I stand by them. But, they should stop telling us they share pains which they don’t. As the father of six daughters, my skin still crawls trying to imagine how I would feel if one of the Chibok girls is my own. Even then, it would be dishonest to say I feel the pains of the parents. As for Ambode, only someone who has received an uppercut in the jaw followed by foul expletives aimed at his parents at a filling station can share the pains – not one who doesn’t know how the fuel got in the cars in the convoy. Please tell us something else; but not this fib again. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/04/mr-president-wait-killed-fight/ |

tuale4u:You again!! Dem don dey talk budget matter, you donrun enter motor come comment!! Which kin dirty integrity; that was how you opened thread commending Buhari for the way he "Withdrew" and "Amended" the first budget. You say na only protocol that Buhari broke when he withdrew the budgeT and not the law - as if no be law dey determine protocol. It was not until the news was all over the place that the budget was padded before you kept quiet and fizzled out; now you are here again. For the record, even if Buhari shared ghana must go with authentic Original ticket to go to heaven after you die; National Assembly would have still declared his budget as a padded budget. Also for your information; tHe Chairman,House Committee on Appropraitions ,Hon Jubrin is a man of proven integrity with a track record that preceeds him. If he says Lagos - Calabar rail wasn't in any copies of the budget with the National assembly, then the world will listen. Hon Jubrin has the record of being the only legislator with the balls to summon and demand Nkonjo Iweala in 2013 to explain critical elements of the National Budget - first time ever in History - go and do your findings and you will findout his pedigree. For those of una whey never know see thread whey e open here dey praise Buhari for Padded budget!! Whether Aisha Buhari sef give am rice chop, I no know!! As far as I am concerned, you are a rice-eater!! https://www.nairaland.com/2865623/why-buhari-should-commended-amending |
Let's be real!! Propaganda is a necessary part of every and any war; but the danger of propaganda is for its user to become complacent. First they said Boko Haram had been defeated technically, then they said Boko Haram's ability to wage warfare had been decimated, then there were suicide bombings, government quickly said that's all they can do. Then Boko Haram launched attacks, government said they were soft targets and that didn't have the capacity to attack any military installation. Now Kareto attack has happened!! For the record, the battle for kareto was fought over 10hrs. With both air and ground assault at the same time. Where and when did Boko haram develop the capacity to hold the entire military for 10 solid hours!!?? And the someone will come here and say that Boko Haram is being rooted out, whoever says that is nothing but an assumptionist, a clown, a bonquo, a bagga lizard. It took reinforcements for troops of 113 battallion to ward of boko harm with full air and ground assault in the heat of battle and then somebody will come and start making childish comparisms between GEJ and PMB as though it wasn't the same military. The only difference between the military then and now is that government through the ministry of information is backing the military with the much needed propaganda to ensure that troops and Nigerian communities have high Spirits and moral - something the military had always asked for but never got because Northern elites insist on government telling the truth at all times and perpertually accused GEJ of killing Innocent civilians all in the name of killing boko haram. Now they have it, but the fear now is not to encourage government to become complacent in the process!! |
