TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Eilenora: 6:22am On Sep 10, 2019
Hi All,

Kindly assist with these enquiries:

Please whats the difference in terms of process and visa fees if I were to apply for a UK visa in Ikeja or VI?

Also can you kindly shed light on the uploading of supporting documents. This seems to be a relatively new development.

Finally, please if one is using priority service, are there any other fees besides visa fees and priority fees to be paid?

I anticipate your soonest responses with many thanks.

yes o. we both have up to 10yrs work expernc.

feel it has to do with ielts.

And you've maxed out your work experience? People in that age range and older still go through with your qualifications. Pele. I actually don't know how to advise you.

For PNP, very rare. Only Prince Edward Island back in May but I was feeling like i still had a better option waiting for scores to drop. Since then, no other request for Lawyers. I suggest you take IELTS again.
I take it u r also a lawyer.

Many thanks

Hello. I am a lawyer.

hubby and I are currently in the pool with a CRS score of 404.

I have taken IELTS 2x. My 1st score was LRWS 7.5,8.0,6.5,8.5 and overall band 7.5.

My last score was LRWS 7.5,7.5,7.0,8.5 with same overall band score of 7.5.

Hubbys had same overall band score of 7.5 with breakdown scores LRWS 7.0,6.5,7.0,8.5.

I became discouraged after my last attempt so now exploring the PNP route but the process appears quite complicated though still doing my research.

Does anyone know any lawyer that has successfully applied through the PNP route? or would u advise I just retake my ielt? would hubby also have to retake it if that is d case?

Birth certificate is only necessary when trying to prove a sibling/family relationship. If not, you do not have any need for it at the moment. You can maintain the old address, however once you are able to secure a new place, you may raise a CSE to inform CIC. As for the NYSC experience, you can state it as it is. I'm sure CIC has taken judicial notice of the NYSC program by now as many people have used it.
Thanks so much

Hi guys. Well done to everyone so far for constantly making this thread active. Please can someone advise me if it is necessary to include birth certificate in one's application as I dont have one. Also where one changes address prior to making an application, do i maintain the old address since i still have access to it or do i need to state the new one? the issue with stating new one is that 1 will have to change my address on all my supporting documents such as bank statement, etc. the 3rd qstn has been answered already ie nysc can be used as part of work experience without having to state it nysc right? pls advise
more emphasis on this, we are trying to get a new place as the building of my old place collapsed. by the time i submit my application we wont have secured the new place. all my documents already carry address of old place with collapsed building. do i carry on with this address? if not what address do i use? if i use a new address, do i need to change the address on all my supporting documents?

Hello All.

Pls can u advise on the best seat to pick on d plane when travelling out with a 4 year old toddler?

Also essentials to pack for hand luggage both for preggy and toddler.

Finally, I was told that I could nli pack either a car seat or stroller for the toddler and not both as they both count as part of d 2 luggages she is entitled to. Thot stroller was usually packed for free to be colected at the entrance of d plane? They said thats for an infant not toddler. Which is more important to take btwn both of them? I hear some cabs wont allow u in their car without car seat for a toddler.

quote author=Tunba28 post=69056652]For all those with passport renewals or new passport application, if you don't mind why not leave a day or two out and go to Osogbo. You're sure to collect it that same day even within 3 hours or a little more. If you can't make it back that day, you will get an Hotel within the range of 7k, sleep and return the second day. I think that's better than waiting for weeks in Lagos. This is for people who are very much in a hurry though.
Very mch so.

Gratias!!!!

Eclectica:
DW had our baby in HNWMC

We got the BC in 3 days for $21.30
US Passport in 2 days for $175

Airbnb is the most common but DW used intown suites. Our bills for a double bed studio for 8 weeks was $2496 (We were refunded the tax we paid for the 1st 5 weeks). If you get a 1bed it will be less.
12 Weeks might be too long but then, it depends on on your overall plan. You can get the travel docs for your baby in 2 - 3 weeks.

At HNWMC we were billed for both Pathology & Pediatrician services.

The cost of your baby ticket should be 10% of the current fare for an Adult. Ofcourse the cost will depend on the Airline.

I hope this helps.

Thnks 4 all ur responses.

So I noticed that for those that gave birth in Houston they hardly mention how much they spent on processing babys papers eg birth cerft and Usa passprt. Can someone help with these costs? Also how long it took for bc to be processed, USA passport as well. Noticed d latter is usually 165 dols, is it same in Houston cos in Nevada its almost 500 dols for expedited. (My missionary journey is a bit tricky cos it appears am goin where no1 else has gone as thats where I have family ie Nevada).

Am trying to do a cost comparison being going there and going to Houston. Ofcos for the latter Il have to rent accommodation. My qstn is ds, for Houston Mamas, which is the most common accommodation used? Comfy, safe and also reasonably priced. Attached is the list of options from Dr.Esperati's site. Need an estimate for accommodation; from intown suites, it looks safe to budget about 2200 for 12wks. Am I on track here? And is 12weeks too long? How long after baby is born is a reasonable time to process baby's papers?

I also noticed pathology both for mum and baby included in ppls's posts. I ddnt hv this for my 1st so i want to know when this applies and if its compulsory.

Finally can I estimate a budget for baby ticket b4 baby is born? Mbe 10% of my own ticket?

Pls help finalize my budgrt estimate o abegggg

Hello All.

Pls I hv 2 silly qstns.

My 1st daughter is Americn. If I want her 2 go wth me to have my 2nd, can she travel without a Nign passport cos I never did for her. Cn she use her american passport and we do visa on arrival on our return leg.

Also when renewin her passport if she has never travelled to d states since her birth will she be refused a new passport? Cos i herd she is expected to have gone back at least once which is d only reason y am considerin takin her wth me.

Finally for those with a child, is it advisable to leav her behind for over 2months or best to take her with me. P.s i wnt have help where I am goin as my hosts will be super busy. Wonderin not only about ticket prices but also how il cope with a 3yr old both b4 and after i gv birth.

@gaggle, @Bmanbaba, @Customised87

please mamas I am still begging o, anyone with a budget sheet for NY pls send to me on yemoduns@gmail.com. i need it urgently. I already have costs for Wycoff, which is a 1 package to consist of hosp bill, epidural, Obgyn, and Paedetrician (baby's 1st checks). I need costs for other ancillary expenses such as international passport, birth certf, paedetrician (subsequent checks)...

Anyone that used Wycoff, do u know if they accept lab tests from Nig? The hosp's response to this qstn was a bit too vague for me. if they dont, any idea of how much their tests costs? Finally, the 130 dollars per visit, is it just for the 1st visit u get to pay this while subsequent visits is discounted or is it the same amount each time? how many visits is envisaged 1 would have if travelling at 34 weeks? there seems to be too many gray areas/hidden costs which makes me a bit skeptical to use them but of all d hospitals mentioned here in NY, they seem to be closest to my host at 40mins drive. Pls advise.

So u get complimentary hotel with the ticket is it? then d visa, do i process on my own or Emirate covers it? Tho I may not need it cos d layover is really short

covbrand:
I used Emirate last year at 34 weeks and will use them to new York next month, they accept only a doctors fit to fly and you must have copies because you will keep presenting it at every stop.
When coming back the infant ticket is about 160 dollars or less, cant remember and you will be given a baby bassinet.

If you mean the poe at Dubai incase you are getting a hotel, I think emirate covers the visa fee into Dubai. I always got complimentary hotel accommodation on my return leg.
