RomanceRe: Share Your Love-letter Experience. by ElPhoche(m): 7:31pm On Oct 11, 2016
MY FIRSTAND LAST LOVE LETTER
Then while growing up, there was this girl I asked out then and we dated before I got into year one. While still in school, due to the distance, she asked me to send her something. I wrote an Xrated love letter and my brother was supposed to be the courier when he got home. I dunno what happened, but my mum laid her hands on the letter while going through my brother's bag (something that she does not usually do). My mum called me over the phone and was so disappointed with me, after all the godly training. My Pops called me gonna night call, that was back in 2010, for a long 'synagogue-talk'. At some point , he started to read my letter to me. I told him to stop, that I already knew what was in the letter. It wasn't a funny experience.
I swore never to write a love letter again, except to do girl I will marry (though I don't think it is still in Vogue), just like I can't take her to Mr Biggs....I broke up with the same girl twice there, two different locations..... That was then Shaw, when I had not really put my life into order....

Medicine is attractive in Nigeria but the problem is lack of medical infrastructure. Even the government of the day is doing little or nothing to address the rot and decay in the health sector.
Government pays better than private hospitals but some private hospitals have better equipment which in turn makes their services more exorbitant.
Government run health facilities are understaffed and their is no effort towards maintenance of existing facilities. Old ones are not replaced and new ones are not brought in. How many dialysis machines do we have in government run health facilities in Nigeria? Even drugs and stuffs as little as handgloves are lacking in government hospitals. These things reduce the efficiency of doctors and they would rather practice in a place where all needed facilities are put in place for optimal and maximum performance.
Till we get things right, we will always have brain drain of doctors in Nigeria. This is why we have many health issues in Nigeria because the ratio of doctors to patients leaves much to be desired.
I went to a government run health facility to run some tests two weeks back: only one person was on duty; collecting money, issuing receipts, taking the sample, running the test and writing the results: tell me why errors will not be high!
Brother, you summarized it well. Imagine, we had a case brought in, of Lassa fever in the teaching hospital where I work, the man died

double0seven:
this is a fucking lie; no allergi reaction to any septrin or common drugs we know, even fake, can burn up a person's skin like this.

think about it, the reaction must start from the inside to outside, so if outside can be burnt like that, that person should not be alive,

big fucking lie; I'm surprised people believe this hook, line and sinker .
So chloroquine starts itching from the inside? Anyway, SJS-TENS also affects mucosa like the mouth's and even the Veejay's. When you are ignorant and you brazenly show it to d world, it is a pity. Don't ever think you know it all or you have seen it all. Google up Steven Johnson Syndrome, Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.
Keep an open mind and learn day by day, new things.
Thanks.
HealthRe: Amina Suffers Stevens-Johnson Syndrome In Katsina After Taking Septrin (Graphic) by ElPhoche(m):
DIKEnaWAR:
Seriously terrible!

The doctors we have here don't even go through your medical history to know if you react to anything. They administer the drugs and wait for the reactions. If adverse, they deny you and cry that their enemies are using you to pull them down.

Let us situate this problem properly; it is not Septrin that did this to her, but a component in the drug. People will start avoiding Septrin now, while they continue taking other brands with that same component that a lot might react to. It is high time we begin to evaluate drugs on their chemical composition and not brand.

It is normal to hear people say "Beecham ampiclux is the best". This is because they think a drug is all about brand and not composition. Let our pharmacists/doctors begin to dispense drugs on the basis of their chemical content one after the other and not what it seeks to cure.
I want to raise some objections to your statement.
1)During taking a patient history, there is a part called 'past medical/drug history' where a patient is asked if je reacts to any drug. It might not be done 100% of the time, but it is done most of the time. It is not eveyone that has taken Septrin. Some of us took it as kids.
Reacting to a drug sometimes does not occur during the first administration. The body will have to be sensitized.
2)Septrin is Trimethoprim/Sulpamethoxazole. It is among the most common cause of SJS. The sulphur component is usually implicated. So, it is Septrin.
Take note, every drug can cause an allergic reaction. Just that some more than others. When you say alcohol causes chronic liver disease, it doesn't stop people from taking alcohol. Till tomorrow, septrin will still be used, but cautiously.
3)When you say something like 'Beecham ampiclox' is best, what is really meant is that
-you are sure of the exact drug dosage, ie, it really contains the advertised 5mg or so.
-might contain component that would help absorption. Different drugs might have same dose of active component but not absorbed same way, but differently.
etc
Abeg, don't attack me oh. smiley

you are welcome, the mathematics is more of quantitative reasoning.some questions were not stuff based, some look like questionnaires.for example,do u feel disturbed at times that you may not achieve your goals in life?a) Most times B)Always c)Seldom etc.Or say What's the range of your parent's annual income.Which kind of settlement do you live in....Are u angry at living in a dirty environment? etc.I feel they want to knw your social class and determine if you really need scholarship or not. There are other questions like verbal reasoning too.At my first attempt,I answered that section like a non-struggling student,I was not picked. The next year,I answered with the orientation and mentality of a poor man. Then I was selected. Only God knows what actually worked, but certainly a strong cgpa is a factor.

Usually, you apply and provode the necessary things needed. The day of exams is usually different for universities, polytechnics, monotechnics.
The questions are usually quantitative, English, general studies and questions about your family.
Success as you apply...

I like your spirit, brother! Congrats to you? In what school did you study Medicine, cos my school(UI) doesn't seem to admit SLT graduates to Medicine.
When I was in ND 2, I wrote JAMB again to study medicine. Many of my classmates then attempted to discourage me because I was planning on starting from year one again. Initially I had entered SLT to use it for direct entry, but thank for my family and big cousin who encouraged me to pursue my dreams irrespective of time. I got admitted into medicine immediately I finished my ND. I studied in UNIZIK. Started from year one till d end. No regrets whatsoever...

I always wanted to be a medical doctor since when i was young,. In ss1 i started in sciences but due to unseriousness and peer influence , i changed to art and wrote waec in arts... I failed.. Den i changed to commercial.. Studied it for like a year and wrote waec again, this time i passed, but my passion for medicine was still very much alive.. I wanted to sacrifice another year to write waec for medicine. But time was against me, I eventually wrote post Utme for economics, didn't reach the cutoff and i had to waste another year to write jamb and post jamb again... I picked economics for the second time and I was scared that they wouldn't pick me.... So i opted for a change of course form and read about all the courses i could do with my subject combination... Voila.. I saw psychology and i finally opted for psychology.... Gained admission.. And currently I'm in 300l, hoping to further my studies in neuropsych after i graduate .. Although i still have undying passion for medicine. But there's this proverb which says of you don't do what you like, like what you do..... I hope this serves as a lesson to the upcoming generation... Never let anything or anyone influence your decision to choose your career..
If you so much love medicine, you can study hard and switch departments. I left secondary school 2005, went to maritime academy, did a national diploma in SLT in a polytechnic before I studied medicine. Today, I am a doctor. I don't want to live a life filled with regrets. It took me time, yes, but I have entered the field of my choice.
