It was rude for Charley Boy to angrily interrupt the governor in the midst of his speech, he should have given a speech later to correct any 'lies' by the governor even if it wasn't in the burial programme however, the state governor should not spout the 'my oppositon' did this line. Not every event has a political undertone. |

phase1: hello guys, when will UniCal prospective candidates write their post-graduate qualification examination?...any date fixed yet??Was the date not on the site? If not, I guess it will be updated, just continue checking and then smses will be sent too. |
NnamdiN: sorry ma. I get your point. Those in uyo know plaza is the heart of town. Even if the article had specified plaza branch, those outside wouldn't still know.True. But neither will I know 'whatever plaza' or 'junction' in another state. Shalom |
Decryptor: If una like, make una build Burj Al Arab 7 star style hotel...A backward people makes a backward state.A negative blanket statement that is so not fair to most of the good people of the state. I wonder how minds like yours work because a certain set of people do not live their lives the way you/your people live yours or want them to. I guess states where people are lynched in public are 'forward' states? Nfana Ibagha, the 'backward' state will maintain its hospitality and keep moving forward slowly but surely. |
MEGA4BILLION: Always read well before you commentKindly point out where 'Plaza' was written in the article. I specifically said it was for the benefit of those who didn't know Plaza was Uyo's heart of town. |
NnamdiN: my dear it's stated there that it's the plaza branch and as a result, other branches are currently congested.Oga no vex. I didn't see Plaza mentioned, only 'heart of town' at least on the pasted article. Perhaps it's mentioned in the blog. |
There is more than one first bank in uyo, perhaps you should have mentioned the specific branch especially as not all Nairalanders stay in Uyo. I'm sure it's the one at Plaza. Haven't passed there today though |
Deal sternly with ill-gotten wealth from the ones at the top. Then the ones on the lower rung will have no excuse to engage in illegality. There should be pride and dignity in even the lowest of labours and if a man is dissatisfied with his lot, he works harder and not necessarily through the wrong route. So, let the scape goats start from the top. Everyone looks up, rarely do people look down, that is why whatever happens at the top reverberates faster though not in all cases. If not, we'll continue to scream ourselves hoarse. Not condoning these crimipolicemen |
Idoma Likita: ....At Least,He Should Pretend To.. How much would it cost to sponsor a Bill guaranteeing Animal Protection in Nigeria and Setting Up a Department to Fully Enforce it!Your post made a lot of sense! |

Good one Osho Baba! Solidarity ko, liquidarity ni! Allowing hopelessness well amongst those seeking for hope. |
Women - was hollywood though. Superbly done. |
Honey, it is so going to be well with you. I hope you and your husband find solace in each other because apart from God, you need to be each other's support. And of course, years down the line when you have your brood all over the house, this incident will be but a blip in the past. Also try to know what happened so as to get closure. |

What a chilling read! Tried to stop reading but couldn't...repelled and drawn at the same time. |
Is it my phone or the bag she is holding? Why are her fingers in different shades? |
Deep and beautiful. I not only like the good message, I like the tone used. |
Okay? Are the roofs leaking? Are moulds and spirogyra coming out of the floor? Do the walls have holes whereby 'dishonourable' outsiders can easily see what goes on in the chambers they call hallowed? Granted, PDP has a body language that reeks of corruption, what of APC and others? |
Genevieve wants to get married to the guy on the left but the guy on the right says no? And yes of course, it's titled 'The Marriage Proposal'. LOL, Nollywood or Music Video? |
Maybe not but kiddies also visit the cinema |
The FG can be likened to my club Man U, where back passing is a norm. |

LMAO...you definitely need music to soften up the evening for you...I'd recommend Jazz...perhaps Kenny G & Louis Armstrong's 'what a wonderful world'... ![]() |
ebner70: @Enoquin, pls can u tell me of a nice hotel and a cinema one can go to, smwhr close to whr 1 cld shop lightly, great food, and hw much do 1 budget pa night for the hotels? We want to spend more times togeda rather dn going to museums etcThere is only one cinema in Uyo and that's Ibom Tropicana. Most hotels are in town, so irrespective of the hotel you stay in the cinema will be quite close as Uyo is a small place. Good hotel rates are from 5k upwards. I don't understand the shopping you are refering to, clothes or what? There are boutiques almost everywhere. Food? I rarely eat out but the fast foods have okay meals and there are good local restaurants too. Your hotel's food might be expensive especially if you are on a tight budget. Hope I helped a bit. |
I am from Akwa Ibom and stay in Uyo at least for 3 years now. If it's sight seeing you want, you are better off at Calabar. Calabar has more sites; museum, parks, historic places than Uyo. Uyo is less expensive and has good hotels too but except you are going to spend all your time in your room and maybe go to the cinema and walk around on a gold course you are better off at Calabar. Akwa Ibom aya do okay! |
This technology/social media era has really released inhibitions. There comes a time when one decides not to get distracted any longer, the only problem is there is no particular age when one decides that's why you see old men still behave like young men. Pls OP that last statement is merely one of reflection. The thing to be understood is this, just as you hit on other women, other men hit on your woman. Although this is almost the same thing it is not because why the onus lies on the woman not to give in, it lies on the man not to ask in the first place. Imagine that anger and betrayal you would feel, if you saw flirty chats on her laptop. Your mind would have put up many crazy scenarios and there will be this itch to look up her phone too to know how many more hidden mysteries abide there. That is the same way she feels. She is thinking how many unclad pics you might have seen and how far you have truly gone. You are in luck though, most women cannot stay angry too long at the ones they 'love' or better still are fond of. So, it's not closing your accounts on all social media that matters, it is having those accounts and not doing 'kurukere' that matters. Give her some time like 3 days but in those 3 days send her messages. Not long mushy messages but short ones. For example, you can send 'Babe, I am so sorry' in the morning. 'Have you had lunch? Love you' in the afternoon. 'Miss you. My day was boring. Goodnight' and bla bla... ( , forgive me I am not romantic, so insert your lovey dovey words)Don't let anyone tell you different, for a relationship to succeed, one person alternatively has to play the fool. Resentment only comes in, when only one person plays the fool all the time. |
I don't think I understand this antic again. It was funny at first but now it's annoying. It's like looking for a weak child and trying to bully that child because s(he) is making a stand. Why not bully/issue threats to MTN or Etisalat? The only puzzling thing about this whole brouhaha is that, Airtel's edge over other networks was in the fact that you could always re-subscribe once your data was exhausted regardless of the fact that your duration wasn't up. This means more airtel cards were bought. Oh well, they know what they want. They are the ones seeing the figures whilst we can only speculate. It affects me because I can't use in a modem as before but I cannot break this 'celtel' line, was my first line before MTN. If push comes to shove, I'd rather buy a nokia two sim phone, put the both lines there as call lines and use an internet-user-friendly network for my bb. Ehen, lest I forget. Airtel, Tis' cruel that N1,000 is 200mb whilst N1,500 is 2gb even for bb. The 'wide' difference is so not cool. |
