The truth doesn't get you many friends but it must be told. If you don't want to use the direct blunt approach, use the indirect approach since you don't want her to hate you but pass your message across.

Cool...I have always wanted to take a snap shot with one but I get too frightened to even stand close to them. The only time I got close to one was in the villa two years back. I, my cousin and sister were strolling into the compound when one stopped us at the edge.

I just froze. My heart was thumping heavily. My cousin and sister played it cool. Cousin told me to give the masquerade money and that it was okay if. I dropped it on the ground. I did it wordlessly. The masked man picked it, thanked us and left. 5 minutes after, it came to me that though I was nervous and frightened, I should have demanded for a shot perhaps using my sister and cousin as a buffer between myself and the masked man tongue
TV/MoviesRe: Les Miserables Still Makes Me Cry! by Enoquin(f): 6:05pm On Nov 27, 2013
"At the end of the day, you are another colder; And that's all you can say about the lives of the poor. It's a struggle, it's a war..."

Les Miserable...classic! I loved it. My fav actress Anna Hathaway. My other favs were Jack Hughman,'Gavorche' and 'Epinoine'.

I enjoyed almost all the songs and the storyline.

I felt sad though after watching the movie. It was not just the songs 'I dreamed a dream', 'Do you hear the people sing', 'At the end of the day', 'Who am I?' and two other songs. It was the despair the movie projected and the similarity to Nigeria's situation in some ways. The repressed anger of the poor towards constituted authority, their helplessness and their lack of courage.

The young men at the barricade are similar to those here who feel a change is needed and the rest of the masses are the rest of us, who need people to bell the cat and die for us. And yet the blame doesn't go entirely to them, amongst the poor it's a dog eat dog world and fear has eroded most good qualities and morality.

The movie was one of deep reflection for me.

I thought Susan Boyle killed the song 'I dreamed a dream' in Britain Got Talent but Anna gave the song a whole new depth.
TV/MoviesRe: Will You Pay To Watch A Nigerian Cinema Movie? by Enoquin(f): 9:20pm On Nov 26, 2013
1. Would you be willing to watch a well shot Nigerian movie at the cinema?

Yes, I would pay to watch good Nigerian movies in a Cinema. Watched 'I'll take my chances', 'Last Flight to Abuja' and ;True Citizens'. Why? I was willing to give Nollywood the benefit of doubt and besides Cinema tickets in Uyo are quite cheap. We started by paying N100 and now it's N250.
Did I enjoy these movies? No.Will I still be willing to give it a try if I see a compelling synopsis without the regular thigh and bosom showing casts? Perhaps.

2. How much would you be willing to pay to watch such movies since we all agree that N1,500 for cinema ticket prices is a rip off.

lipsrsealed
3. If you stay in certain high density areas in Lagos like Mushin, Ajegunle, Ikotun etc will you go to a cinema there?

Don't stay there

4. We intend to publicize these movies through social media. Will you willingly follow the exploits of the movie and its stars online?

Will the plot, budget, challenges etc also be online? If yes, sweet!

5. We intend to book cinema viewers through the internet/social media. Would you be willing to book a cinema seat online?

No

6. Would you want to pay for your cinema ticket online, through your phone, ATM card or with cash at the gate?

Cash at gate, plenty of time to change my mind grin

If your church doesn't do groups but has a sanitation team/department, then join them either as a member or as a volunteer that goes on days that are convenient for you.

Music/RadioRe: Don Jazzy Accuses Wande Coal Of Stealing His Song by Enoquin(f): 9:39am On Nov 06, 2013
WC did wrong. So, after taking DJ's song without his permission, he is supposed to call you? Why didn't you call first before taking the song asking for permission or whatever? The courts here might indict you for plagiarism but who will enforce its ruling? You served him for 10 years doesn't give you the right to take any of his property, tangible or intangible.

DJ shouldn't have taken to twitter. Granted, WC tok something from him; he should have done the mature thing by calling him and if WC hadn't responded, should have taken him to court. Yes, nothing might be done but it'd be in public domain (abi na wetin lawyers dey call am?)

DJ no one can be loyal for you and be with you forever. I'd have thought you'd get new acts by now and concentrate on producing.

embarassed
Are you sure the boy came out of her? What manner of soup is it? Is it an eternal soup that makes wishes come true by giving eternal youth and too much wealth?
Look at the boy's back! And yet, that shouldn't be too alarming because physical scars can fade but what about the scars on the soul, the ones where no one can reach?

God bless the teacher that showed concern enough to take action. Kudos to the Local Government for intervening...
FoodRe: Is It Wrong For My Wife To Compliment My Cooking? by Enoquin(f): 7:54am On Nov 01, 2013
No, it isn't. I compliment my gem and brothers anytime they cook. In actual fact, I compliment anyone that cooks, male or female. Perhaps, after eating, ask her how the food was...I hope you compliment her when she cooks too?
Or you can talk to her during one of your playful moments...ask her why she doesn't compliment you and any other thing that is bothering you....there is nothing that cannot be talked about in a relationship..... smiley
TV/MoviesRe: Dennis Okike Wins Gulder Ultimate Search 10 by Enoquin(f): 7:23am On Nov 01, 2013
smiley Congrats to Dennis. The first day I started watching the show towards the tail end, he was talking rudely to Anthony who wasn't even replying. His attitude was and is annoying....but his hunger, perseverance worked for him and I am happy he got it. If he had behaved like Edmund and Ifunanya...I doubt they would have found the tenth symbol. The only thing that pained me was Bobby's eviction....if he stayed till the end, he or Dennis would have carried it.

Meanwhile, Ifunanya is a determined woman in a fragile frame...reminds me of chidinma of project frame during the auditions and her time in the house...She should be proud of herself....

Edmund...long legs and good lungs, should go for long distance races...should perhaps participate in the obudu mountain race even if it's for the experience....

FamilyMen Warned Not To Share Wife’s Breast While Breast Feeding - See More At: Http:/ by Enoquin(op): 6:03am On Oct 25, 2013
BY EMMA UNA
CALABAR- MEN have been advised to keep away from their wives’ breasts while they are breast feeding their children to avoid inflicting wounds on the breasts and exposing the children to infection.
Professor Angela Oyo Ita, the Cross River State Commissioner for Health who gave the advice while flagging- off the 2013 Breast Feeding Week at Akpabuyo local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, stated that men sharing their wives’ breasts while they are breast feeding could inflict wound on the breasts and if the woman is HIV positive, the child could be exposed to the infection.

Professor Oyo Ita who was represented by the Director Nutrition of the Ministry of Health, Mrs Regina Adie called on the women to practice exclusive breast feeding because it has been proven that beast milk contains 80% water and 20% minerals that are essential for the child’s growth.
“The World Health Organisation, the United Nation International Children Educational Fund, and other renown world agencies have carried out studies and it has proven that breast milk is the best in keeping the child healthy, strong and happy”.
She said myths that a child that is exclusively fed on breast milk for six months would at some point die out of thirst is not true because beast milk contains enough water to keep the child happy and satisfied. “Some time ago, we came here and had a meeting with the men and called on them to support their wives to carry out exclusive breast feeding for their children and the men said no because the children would die from the thirst for water, but that is not true”.
The Health Commissioner said the theme for this year’s breast feeding week. ‘Breast Feeding, Close to Mother”, was apt because the relationship between the mother and the child becomes stronger when the mother breast feeds the baby exclusively for six months.
“If you look at the face of your baby during breast feeding, you would see joy and satisfaction on the face and that brings the child closer to the mother”.
Mrs Rosemary Effiong, the Chairman of Akpabuyo Local Government Area said breast feeding keeps children strong and free of health challenges and “We in Akpabuyo do not want to have children who would put unnecessary pressure on our health facilities, so let every mother listen and obey the instruction of the focal person on breast feeding”.
Mrs Effiong who was represented by the Secretary of Council, Mr Edem Okon said the council would continue to offer the needed support to mothers through financial empowerment to enable them feed well to breast feed their children.

PoliticsEdo Cults Unite To Fight Kidnapping, robbery by Enoquin(op): 3:40am On Oct 14, 2013
SOME school-based cult groups in Edo State have come together in an alliance against the spate of kidnappings, armed robberies and other violent crimes in the state.

The cult members, belonging to various fraternities in schools across the state converged at the Sand Beach Resorts, Benin, on Saturday for a summit tagged “Interactive Peace Summit: Strategy for Social Cohesion.”

At the summit, the groups, which came together under the aegis of Rainbow Consolidated Forum said they were not satisfied with the spate of violent crimes and insecurity in the state and vowed to fight the situation.

Some of the fraternities at the summit included the Green Circuit (a.k.a Maphites), Norsemen (aka Vikings), , Eiye confraternity, Family Fraternity of Nigeria and Avarian Organization of Nigeria.

Governor Adam Oshiomhole, Oba of Benin, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, the State Security Service, and the Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps sent representatives to the summit of the cultists.

While acknowledging the damage already done by the activities of the cult groups in the state, the chairman of the Rainbow Consolidated Forum, Donald Edeoghon, said he hoped that their coming together to fight armed robbers, kidnappers and perpetrators of other violent crimes in Edo would yield good results.

He said, “If you remember, for over two decades, inter-group conflicts which often resulted in violent and fatal crisis were the attributes of Edo State communities. Innocent lives, properties of inestimable worth are taken and destroyed on a whim. Armed robbery, kidnapping, thuggery and sundry social vices rose to unprecedented levels; it became dangerous to reside and function legitimately in Edo State, and, in particular, Benin City.”

“Various efforts were made by various groups to check this disturbing trend. Some were sincere while others were not. They failed because their focus was eradicating inter-group conflicts, whereas conflicts are integral part of all human societies. The situation looked bad, but then came the platform of Rainbow Consolidated Forum with a template for all seasons.”
