Poor Buhari. All this medical phonetics on top one person's head. I pray God gives the doctors the wisdom to find a solution. I do not wish you bad because anybody can be in that position. Please anyone that knows Baba should advise him to resign, rest and leave Nigeria with her wahala. He would be highly respected and remembered for good if he resigns. Forget all agendas and plans. Osinbajo is capable. Nigeria is in good hands. The way God dislodged the cabals of the Yaradua era so shall God dislodge every enemy of the people of Nigeria. Don't let anyone use you to hold on to whatever power or wealth been accumulated at the expense of Nigerians. You are the one who knows where it hurts most. Aisha Buhari was using style to tell Nigerians that there was trouble and that her husband had been shackled by the cabal. Poor woman.
NB: I am not pro Buhari at all but we are all human at the end of the day. Good morning
You just spoke maturedly

PLEASE, SEUN, LALASTICLALA, BACANISTA, ETC:
YOU ALL SHOULD TELL THE POWERS THAT BE THAT SUCH MOVE IS EXESSIVELY DANGEROUS AND WILL HIGHTEN THE TENSIONS WE ALREADY HAVE INNIGERIA.

usually, the resultant outcome of a Census is used for important national decisions. Now I ask, what important decision is going to be with the number of Christians/Moslems/Traditionalists/ Free thinkers...?

This will further arouse anger and hatred within all the states of the Federation of Nigeria.

For instance, instead of counting the people in every state, specifying their language, gender, state of settlement, and also state of origins; they now want the religion which will seek to determine which religion has highest followers.
Does it mean Nigeria wishes to make national decisions based on the most popular religion?

I wish the answer is no, because the Nigerian 1999 constitution as amended 2011...says no to such.

Take for instance, if Kaduna, Enugu, Benue, Taraba States among other, should be counted along religious lines, you will see the people of these states reminiscent the fact that a huge number of their population was decimated months back and that particularly down-sized them. Subsequently, if a person from one religion kills another from the opposite faith, you will discover impatience thriving as people will always say "they are reducing our population" and revenge will follow, leading to a more caos. People may be counted along religious lines in other countries but Nigerians and the kind of mentality they have are note ripe for that.

Please, the book "THE WHIPPING BOY" is instructive here, as it contains in its Chapter Eight "us versus them" should be discouraged in Nigeria.

Yeeyo:
God is d apointer of d king, n wht he is doin is d best,

Well it must be said that President Trump has not done badly yet. So far so good, the end will justify the means.

With the court ruling against Trump's Executive orders, Trump is still wining. I tell you why:
*because of the fact that President Trump gave the Refugee ban Order and the Courts set it aside; the seven affected countries will now sit up in their vetting of persons applying for visa to the U.S. not only that they will not plan a terror act against America, but they won't allow any person to spoil their name in the U.S.

*secondly, if any of the seven affected countries fail to prevent the occurrence of terror in U.S, so that an attack occurs and is traceable in any way to any of those countries: the the otherwise suspended Trump's BAN will be automatically revived with more strictness than it was intended.

Therefore, either way president Trump wins.

PoliticsRe: Today, I Am So Proud Of PDP by eodavids(m): 10:19am On Feb 09, 2017
PDP may not have been the best of what a party should be, but, compared to what we have had in APC, PDP is still better.

Lets face fact:
PDP from Obasanjo's eight years tenure managed poverty to its barest minimum in Nigeria. Both Yar'adua and Jonathan consolidated on that.
**Evidence of this claim was obvious in the prices of food, cloths, and other basic items. Even cars were affordably rampant and many people's lives were tremendously transformed for the better in Nigeria within the years PDP governed.

Iam a lover of president Buhari even before he became the president in 2014.
I had alluded to Buhari as the "HOPE FOR THE POOR" in my novel "The Whipping Boy" which was launched in the year 2014.
During the campaign period of 2015, I am one of the people who bought PMB recharge card as a way to raise fund for our choice of president to have the financial muzzle to compeat with a sitting Gej. These are fact to buttress the pointbthat I have been Buhari's supporter.

***But, it is unfortunate that that President Buhari has not lived up to expectations.
-Under Buhari, poverty has crept in, and the situation is about to return to what we are used to be having under the Abacha regime.
-Food has become almost unaffordable, cloths very expensive, Medicine too, and the count goes on.
-The yardstick of measuring how well a sitting of past government has done well is by ascertaining the level or degree of improvement in the live of the citizenry.

****Can we now say that PMB has performed well even as the price of basic family needs has gone above the level of affordability?

*****Let's not play politics with fact and reality.
PMB has a lot of work to do now, than when he assumed office as a replacement of GEJ, and it is the duty of all well meaning Nigerians to let our president know this.
Let's not continue to claim that Buhari has been doing well or that he has done better than PDP's 16years. All such claima are falacy.

NB: IF BUHARI DO NOT CHANGE STYLE FROM NOW ON, AM AFFRAID THAT NIGERIAN SITUATION MAY FINALLY RETURN TO WHAT IT USED TO BE WHEN ABACHA WAS OUR HEAD OF STATE. PEOPLE WHO OWNED CAR(S) MAY BECOME motorcycle owners;
POPLE WHO OWNED HOUSE(S) MAY find it hard to own an apartment, cement price will convince all of us on that;
PEOPLE WHO EAT INDOMIE AND FOREIGN RICE WII find it hard to afford the only local rice or even common gari. Note that current price of gari is more than what foreign rice used to sell;

Fuel, even fuel, that used to be determinant of prices, was hiked from 85 naira to 145 naira without parliative to cushion the effect, and since then the prices of other commodities have followed suit.

AS NIGERIANS, IF WE SAY BABA HAS DONE WELL, NO PROBLEM. BUT IF THE TRUTH IS TO BE TOLD, THE PDP IS TO BE PREFARED, LET BUHARI SHOW NIGERIANS WHY PDP ISN'T BETTER.

Currently I am researching on the problem of intellectual theft.

Nigerians needs to know that all intellectual products which are the product of the human brain are protectected by the law of intellectual property under the titles of copyright, patent, trademarks, industrial designs, passing off, trade secrets, confidential information and plagiarism.

The last and the first being the ones affecting this thread.

I love the law and particularly, in this case, the law of intellectual property.

PoliticsRe: Why Buhari Will Keep Dasuki In Detention- The Nation by eodavids(m): 10:09am On Oct 07, 2016
cyrilamx:
I hate comments here calling for respect of Court rulings. What happened to our humanity and sense of justice...everybody is clamouring rule of law but forgetting that thousands of lives were lost owing to this man channeling of arms fund for other purposes?..will releasing of dasuki not be a slap in the face of those who became orphans, widows, widowers as a result of Boko haram menace that was left to fester because Dasuki and his master were avaricious? The clamour for the govt to release dasuki from a certain part of the country is nothing but due to unbridled hatred for the person of the president. In a saner society, dasuki and his masters would have long be hanged or faced the firing squards and their corpses incinerated with chemicals for war crimes. Even America that is referred to as champion of democracy will not even bother taking Dasuki to court, they would have forgotten him and his accomplices at Guatanamo Bay prison....infact no American court will even dare make such pronouncement for their release let alone a regional court that has no power over a sovereign state. Didn't Obama promised to close than Guatanamo? 8 years on and his govt winding up, Guatanamo is still there. Do you know how many terrorists like Dasuki and war crime perpetrators are detained indefinitely by the American government - the supposed proponents of rule of law and human rights in Guatanamo and yet the American citizens never protested for their release? I guess reality stared Obama on the face. America is one country that relegate rule of law to the background when it clashes with national interest. Was Killing of Osama Bin Laden not extra-judicial? And worst still, America trespassed on a sovereign state to carry out this 'crime' against the rule of law, yet there was no outrage nor condemnation of the ever Washington sponsored and vociferous American and European human right groups. Maybe I am not aware, please tell me if there was any. And yet many Nigerians who are queuing behind Dasuki simply because of prejudicial hatred for the president rejoiced an even bought the films about bin laden's death. How is Dasuki different from Bin Laden? He who kills and one who makes the killing possible are they not guilty of same crime? PMB needs to be firm on terrorists and saboteurs like current philippino president is on drug peddlers and calling international criticisms bluff. In reality, any leader will take any measure whether legal or not to protect her citizens and shouldn't bulge in face of myopic denunciation from within and without. That was why when Hitler was hell bent on plunging Germany into further genocidal war owing to his false sense of Aryan supremacy and insatiate urge to became emperor, in the second world war, Detrich Bonheoffer; a young German pastor-theologian who was hanged in 1943 for his participation in the foiled assassination attempt on the life of the German Fuerher with this conviction: "we must become a monster to destroy a monster" for a saner society.
For Pmb to succeed he has to put on a monstrous image to tackle the plethora of problems Nigeria has even if at times flouting court order for rule of law can sometimes be a clog in wheel of justice and progress. Lest I forget, China recently refused to recognise the judgement of ICJ in favour of Philippines on disputed international waters. Yet her citizens have not com out to attack their president for calling bluff ICJ's ruling. If we can continue to clamour for bring back our girls, what stop us from championing the cause of justice for victims of Boko haram whose blood hung squarely on Dasuki's and his Master's neck?
Do you really mean it when you said a leader should decide whether legally right or not?

Do you still remember that it is the law that made the president?
If a leader leads by disregarding the dictates of the law, he will end up in arbitrary kind of leadership. Do you know what is "ultra vires"

Please, do not be an advocate of lawlessness, because lawlessness has many side, and you seem to be considering one side alone.

TAKE LESSON: on another side of lawlessness, the president will be ignored, such that the armed force will no longer take orders from him; the CBN will not heed his opinions and so on. What will he use to control both statutory bodies and the masses=THE LAW.
SO TO DICARD THE LAW IS TANTAMOUNT TO SHOOTING ONESELF ON THE LEG AS A PRESIDENT.

Let our president lead by example, obeying the law. Thet way, all follows him and the maintenance of law and order becomes effective.
The opposite is both undesirable and unimaginable.

Allwility:
huh
I don't see any reason why the Chief Law Officer of the Federal Republic should be the first to hold the decisions of the courts in contempt. If you are fighting corruption, by what standards are you fighting it? Your personal standard or the country's criminal code? If you cannot prove a man guilty beyond reasonable doubt then for Pete's sake he is innocent and should be set free.

Dasuki embezzled money, that my intuition tells me. But if I can't prove it then he's innocent. That's how the law works. If we all relied on our intuition to convict someone, my people who then will walk free?
Yes, my view is similar to yours.
It is not acceptable that an executive president will assume the position of judges to decide, what should be meted to an accused even where such alleged matter has gone before courts of competent jurisdiction.
The law made the president and without the law, there is no president.

More so, even where a person thinks that a particular law is imperfect, a bad law is still better that lawlessness.

"The rule of law is better and prefarable than the rule of man"* the thinking of Judges is far preferable over the thinking of any lay man, president or not.
PoliticsRe: Why Buhari Will Keep Dasuki In Detention- The Nation by eodavids(m): 9:43am On Oct 07, 2016
Parden erred. He is completely wrong, both he and Buhari.

Dasuki has cases to answer and he is answering them already.
If the law is that Dasuki's offence is bailable, then let every subject, including the FG obey the law.

If Dasuki is bailed, he will still continue to answer for his offences, to the extent of imprisonment if the law so requires.

THEREFORE, BAILED OR NOT, DASUKI WILL NOT ESCAPE ANSWERING FOR HIS (alleged) OFFENCES.

The law is the law, and must be adhered to.

The brazenly disobedience and non adherence to the dictate of the law is more dangerous that Dasiki's alleged offences.

WHAT ARE BUHARI'S ADVISERS TELLING HIM?

THE LAW MADE THE PRESIDENT AND SUPERCEDES THE EXECUTIVE ENTIRELY AND NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

TO DISOBEY THE DICTATE OF THE LAW IS TOO DANGEROUS, AND I WANT PMB AND ALL HIS DIEHARD FOLLOWERS TO IMMAGINE A SITUATION OF BRAKDOWN OF LAW AND ORDER: where the citizens of a country no longer regard the law nor adhere; such scenario that masses even block the entrances to state house, occupy streets, eject government officials from their "official vehicles", "official residences", and so on.

Can you imagine where the masses will throng to the courts: (magistrate, high, industrial, appeal, supreme courts) and occupy them all, thereby deterring the administration of justice, can you imagine what that means and what the outcome could be?

This shall be the outcome: the law won't be administered and no more adjudications.
Then if the law be set aside, presidential house as well as legislative house(s) will have no meaning, because the law is what created them and gave them the powers they wield.

The provision of the law is supper relevant over the " thinkings" of one individual person occupying presidential seat and eating presidential food.

TO SHOWCASE A HIGH DISREGARD FOR THE LAW IN TIMES OF HARDSHIP LIKE THIS, EVEN OPENLY BEFORE THE CITIZENS, IS TANTAMOUNT TO SETTING ASIDE THE LAWS OF THE LAND.
IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT A PRESIDENT, ASSUMES THE POSITION OF A JUDGE AND THINKS FOR JUDGES ON ISSUES IN SOME COMPETENT COURTS OF JURISDICTION. WHAT ELSE IS PREJUDICE?

ISSUES SUCH AS JURISDICTION, FAIR HEARING,
PREJUDICE AND CLASSICAL SEPARATION OF POWERS, ETC, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE IMPORTANCE IN ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE IN HUMAN SOCIETIES, CAN ONLY BE UNDERSOOD BY THE LAWYERS ALONE, BEING THEIR PROVINCE.

JURISPRUDENCE HAS THOROUHGLY FURNISHED THE LAWYER IN REALIZING THAT, EVEN WHERE THERE SEEMS TO BE AN 'IMPERFECT LAW', STILL, IT IS BETTER TO ADHERE TO IT THAN TO HAVE A LAWLESS SOCIETY.

Someone who has an ear of our President should help me tell him that if the masses follow his footstep in disregarding the law, he won't like the outcome, because if the law become of non effect, there won't be president any more.

God bless PMB;
God bless Nairaland;
God bless Seun; and
