Abuamam: who be fake pastor ? Not my Paula White ohhhhh Make I tok something sha. Although, this is not the question you asked there is actually nothing like fake pastor in the real sense of the word a pastor is a pastor because he or she has a congregation that he or she pastors a fake pastor would simply mean someone that lies that he pastors a church, but really doesnt you might therefore have things like bad pastors, good pastors, gifted pastors, anointed pastors, lying pastors, carnal pastors etc |

Abuamam: the Holy Spirit reads Holy Wind For that very nature he is not something that one can easily lay their fingers on we (including atheists) are still trying to understand how the none-physical parts of our being works If he was solidly tangible at all times, then we all would have been fully subservient to him. there probably would have been no fall in the first place if God was standing next to Adam with a cane. there would be no atheists either, I doubt Figment of our imagination? You'd say so. But some of us are enjoying the chase, the reaching out and the occasional or regular baby mis-steps And aren't you happy that you are able to make choices as you will without seeing someone with a sword hovering over you |

plaetton:yep because mama and papa play is the play that we would like mumi to allow us play the most but it seems mumi says we should not play. But Cynthia is playing it ...and because you made reference to Nigerian Christians in particular, I'll add that both mumi and our traditions seems to come together to forbid this play it is quite agonising 2 Likes |

Abuamam:yep that's only normal if you pay tributes to a great king through a princely looking chief, then you start seeing the chief walking around with rags on its only normal that you would say that the chief is a fake. however, if after paying tributes through the chief you always send a text message to the King and he always replies saying "received and accounted for" what you'd have for the chief is sympathy or face the other side and continue with your business |

plaetton: I'll explain. it's like this: Ever seen a child who has to sit still under the watchful strict gaze of her parents? You'll notice that she spends a lot of time pointing out the wrong of the other children "mummi, look at how Cynthia is staining her clothes with dirt. Cynthia, you are a naughty, dirty girl. Mumi will not like you" |

plaetton: Sorry I am late, but let me explain to you what you've observed. My explanation is going to be largely in the flesh. Don't say una don come again. It would make more sense to you if I talk on the flesh level because you and I can both understand it Here we go: Quite a number of us Christians are fixated on laws. Its a carry over from the Jewish roots of our beliefs The laws tend to largely say "do not" regarding tangible things, then speaks of woes to come after you do break them Whereas it is easy to say do-not self service, it is quite difficult to say do not not selfless service Yes, we do have threads that encourage selfless service, but they are not as attractive as the "do-not" threads the only ones that we sometimes collapse into the selfless service definitions and are fairly attractive also follow the same pattern 1) for example, do-not rob God in tithes payment (2) do-not insult a MOG Once again, these ones tend to speak of woes if you fail to abide with the terms, and blessings if you do abide with them Hope you now understand were we are coming from. Kind regards 1 Like |

Post 4 Femi: But we need change, and remember we’ve now learnt that our votes can bring about change. Ebiere: Yes, we need change, but there is a crucial lesson here. Nigerian elites have learnt and reinforced that when you are a minority you can be bullied out of a position no matter how powerful that position is. Maybe it’s because of such lessons learnt from the past that facilitated the easy changing of the Igbo senate presidents by Obasanjo for ‘credible sounding’ reasons, whereas it was hard to push out the Speakers of the house from the core North. Femi: Guy you are confusing me. Are you now saying that we should reward incompetency with our votes. Ebiere: No way. Please forget my other rigmaroles. It was me being emotional and making us understand that in the process of killing a fly perched on our scrotum we swiped too hard and killed the fly as well as hurt our scrotum. Ebiere: In essence, what I am saying is that our democracy is yet to have the deepening you earlier alluded to. Perhaps, when a core northerner has had his 2nd term bid truncated, only then would I agree and say yes, the Nigerian democracy is deepening real good, and devoid of religious and ethnic sentiments 1 Like 1 Share |

Post 3 Femi: Uhmm, I am beginning to see your point..but guy Jonathan was just too bad naw Ebiere: Yes we know, and believe it or not we are somehow happy that just the way that John the Baptist fell for Jesus to expand, Jonathan had to also fall for Buhari not Babangida or Atiku to emerge Femi: ehehehe!! That a new one. The John the Baptist of Otoueke. But seriously, so what is the problem naw? Ebiere: We have mixed feelings. Bitter sweet feelings Ebiere: We wonder what would have been, if an Alhaji Jonathan was from the core North with all his weakness. Would there ever have been a Boko Haram this strong -a Boko haram that is suddenly losing its suicidal steam with the emergence of a core Northerner as president? Ebiere: We wonder if for example a southern Obasanjo president had died mid-term, if an Atiku could have been so blackmailed to stick to one term by the southerners? We wonder what would have been, if a clueless Alhaji Jonathan from the PDP was running against a honest APC’s Deacon Buhari from the south. Ebiere: Just imagine this for a second. Ebiere: Imagine who amongst these two would be stoned, and where he would be stoned. Imagine if a large number of the electorate from the core north would be bothered about all this plenty analysis wen we dey do for social media and then vote for Deacon Buhari. Ebiere: We wonder if your votes were simply anti-Jonathan or anti-SS/SE or pro-southwest etc. Ebiere: We wonder what your views would have been if a Southern PDP Jonathan was running against a Northern APC Babangida, Atiku or Yerima. Ebiere: We wonder a lot of things. The message from the electorate in the core north is very clear, but the message coming from your my brothers is very mixed |

Post 2 Ebiere: Ok, back to the topic. I am afraid for the future of southern Nigeria. Femi: Don’t tell me that you are one of those ethnic and religious bigots. Look, what we need in Nigeria are leaders that can perform irrespective of tribe or creed. Ebiere: Yes, I agree with this, especially in a perfect union. But that my friend is the challenge. We are not a perfect union. I don’t know about you, how you grew up, but for me and those around me, even in childhood we learnt anger from our elders. Ebiere: The anger was that they lived and grew up in a Nigeria were no matter how smart they were, or how hard they worked, when it was the season for harvest, they were bypassed and appointments given to the core north, especially the Muslim part. Ebiere: We learnt that the next in line were the others from the core north and the middle belt. Then the Muslim Yorubas (who in turn nicely looked out for their non-Muslim Yoruba brethren) before the rest of country were left to fight for the crumbs. In their world as it then was, those from disadvantaged tribes rose to the top by having the ability to betray their own. Ebiere: When MKO was denied the presidency, my elders rose up and also encouraged us their children to join the Yorubas in the fight. Their fight was not necessarily because they loved MKO –after all, we were hardly under the influence of the media domiciled in the southwest, but because to us, MKO was a glaring embodiment of the way we had been cheated in the past by what they (our elders) perceived as the core north. |

The fall of Jonathan and the lessons not yet learnt Post 1 Femi: Jonathan’s loss at the poll is a good thing for our democracy Ebiere: Why? Femi: Do you know what it means for a sitting president in Nigeria to be unseated in a democracy. This is unprecedented. It will deepen our democracy. Ebiere: Ahaha. I laugh in Ijaw Femi: Why are you laughing like a drunk? Ebiere: I am laughing because you’ve spoken too soon. I don’t think that you really understand the implication of what has happened. Femi: Explain yourself. Ebiere: Ok. Now granted that Jonathan was a leadership disaster, a man that it won’t have been strange if you heard from his mouth: ...... the government should do something about the situation . However, I believe that we should discuss this with as much objectivity as possible. Femi: Uhmm .. Good that you agree that Jonathan was a disaster. Ebiere: I said leadership disaster, and I said that for a reason. He practically outsourced leadership to committees and folks around him. His constant alibi was that Obama said we need strong institutions and not strong leaders . The same Obama soon learnt to be a strong leader and got irritated by Jonathan. Femi: Abeg, I no fit argue just make your point make I do go house. |

Kei144: ...and besides i think we should let go of this oil business as a determinant of our economic success if we continue to insist that our wealth as a country would be dependent on oil then i'm afraid those whose villages sit on the oil wells and oil pipeline routes would by necessity gradually determine the fate of project Nigeria |
Politics / Re: The Shale Boom Has Already Gone Bust - At Least For Now by esere826: 7:55am On May 04, 2015 |
Kei144: Not really From what I learnt, shale becomes quite profitable to US producers only after the price of oil reaches some $60 to $80 per barrel I think what this means is that once OPEC oil prices start going up again, America companies will start producing their shale oil in bulk. thereby putting a downward pressure on the price of oil to remain between $60 to $80 per barrel.. The only thing that can upset this delicate balance is if there is strong growth in one or more of the big economies thus leading to an increased demand for oil. Or, if one of the big oil producers encounter a situation such as war which would mean that supply would be reduced |
Politics / Re: APC Reveals Transition Committee’s Terms Of Reference That Earned Buhari FG Rebu by esere826: 1:09pm On May 01, 2015 |
Wow The terms of reference is quite insensitive. It emphasises the request of documents from civil servants by a separate power bloc from that which they are presently aligned if you're ignorant of how the civil service works especially in relation with politicians , then you wont understand the undercurrents Why not wait till they get into power before pursuing some of their requests |

Ishilove: Critiquing literal pieces is nice. It helps the writer improve and helps readers see gaps criticizing literal pieces is bad. It seeks to put down the writer and can smoulder him/her if not strong willed. -now, I'm not saying that you usually do the second. I am only concentrating on the part of your post which I have bolded - critiquing and criticizing sometimes look similar, but are quite different It's like how water can give life to a plant when applied properly, but can kill same plant if used inappropriately. Critiquing is a science as well as an art. it's nurturing, In fact it's a gift. One should give it properly, and the other should receive it properly 4 Likes |

Politics / Re: Is It Really The Resposibility Of Government To Create Jobs? by esere826: 12:01am On Apr 22, 2015 |
DeGenius3:in a way, you and your friend are both right In its most basic form, this is how it works If people are not able to feed and pursue their aspirations they yearn for change by seeking to overturn the present order peacefully (eg negotiations, democracy, migration) or violently (theft, kidnap, coup, revolution etc) In modern times and in a rough way, what i have described translates to: if people do not have jobs, they violently rebel (eg Tunisia) against the government or vote them out (eg Nigeria). So for self interest, (not necessarily moral qualms) a government needs to ensure that jobs are created. it can ensurure in either one or two ways: 1) the government indirectly creates jobs by providing the enabling physical, mental and social structures stimulus required for organisations to create these jobs 2) directly creating jobs themselves (e.g civil service) ...so, the two posters above me, plus your friend and yourself are all kinda correct also read up social contracts for a better understanding |
