slenderdude:the world is quite big u know,... not a little hamlet filled with enclave warlords a more conciliatory comment ought to be something like this: "wow. I thought these sayings were unique to my yorubas only. now I realise that we the yoruba's share lots of sayings with other tribes including the urhobos" |
UjSizzle:nope remember the other ruddy cheek guy that trecked from lagos to abuja for GMB in 19 days? i think in nigeria, one actually gains more weight when they treck long distances they probably hunt and eat bush meat on the way |
Kei144:...and besides i think we should let go of this oil business as a determinant of our economic success if we continue to insist that our wealth as a country would be dependent on oil then i'm afraid those whose villages sit on the oil wells and oil pipeline routes would by necessity gradually determine the fate of project Nigeria |
Kei144:Not really From what I learnt, shale becomes quite profitable to US producers only after the price of oil reaches some $60 to $80 per barrel I think what this means is that once OPEC oil prices start going up again, America companies will start producing their shale oil in bulk. thereby putting a downward pressure on the price of oil to remain between $60 to $80 per barrel.. The only thing that can upset this delicate balance is if there is strong growth in one or more of the big economies thus leading to an increased demand for oil. Or, if one of the big oil producers encounter a situation such as war which would mean that supply would be reduced |
Wow The terms of reference is quite insensitive. It emphasises the request of documents from civil servants by a separate power bloc from that which they are presently aligned if you're ignorant of how the civil service works especially in relation with politicians , then you wont understand the undercurrents Why not wait till they get into power before pursuing some of their requests |
I agree with this Emmahunk:For this one. I don't agree The all knowing God must have his reasons for making us all one Nation! When will we stop resisting God!Lugard made us one. He is not God Just like Shaekau killing folks is man's doing and not God's |
Ishilove:u are welcome my daughter oya come and sit on my laps so I can pat ur back and sing lullaby for u |
Ishilove:Critiquing literal pieces is nice. It helps the writer improve and helps readers see gaps criticizing literal pieces is bad. It seeks to put down the writer and can smoulder him/her if not strong willed. -now, I'm not saying that you usually do the second. I am only concentrating on the part of your post which I have bolded - critiquing and criticizing sometimes look similar, but are quite different It's like how water can give life to a plant when applied properly, but can kill same plant if used inappropriately. Critiquing is a science as well as an art. it's nurturing, In fact it's a gift. One should give it properly, and the other should receive it properly |
GeneralShepherd: Mekurexx:I agree with the guy ooo One or two persons I have advised against the UK move are in Canada right now and are not moaning But in UK, I see folks weeping and gnashing their teeth. If you do have enough cash sha, u can finish from here and try for a phd or something like that in Canada BW in any choice you make sha afterall Joseph became a prince from prison and so did Obj |
Thank God that I am not the only one that noticed the writer says this America has declared a former Minister of Nigerthen says this Though the US government did not specifically ![]() is this not what is called conjecture? Mum says that she'll slap those that ate the meat in her soup The househelp says that my brothers Sam, and leki, and my dad ate the meat in her soup. Thisday's conjecture is that Mum will slap Sam, Leki and Dad soon. ....umh. flight of reasoning appears that Thisday is now hiring some narialanders |
DeGenius3:in a way, you and your friend are both right In its most basic form, this is how it works If people are not able to feed and pursue their aspirations they yearn for change by seeking to overturn the present order peacefully (eg negotiations, democracy, migration) or violently (theft, kidnap, coup, revolution etc) In modern times and in a rough way, what i have described translates to: if people do not have jobs, they violently rebel (eg Tunisia) against the government or vote them out (eg Nigeria). So for self interest, (not necessarily moral qualms) a government needs to ensure that jobs are created. it can ensurure in either one or two ways: 1) the government indirectly creates jobs by providing the enabling physical, mental and social structures stimulus required for organisations to create these jobs 2) directly creating jobs themselves (e.g civil service) ...so, the two posters above me, plus your friend and yourself are all kinda correct also read up social contracts for a better understanding |
lol charlesPhc u neva see anything yet ooo u created a simple post which simply invited people to critique/think dem go curse u tire, turn u to apc or Pdp or even tribalist |
2 WEEKS LATER. Emeka and Femi hook up online Emeka@SA: O boy haw far naw? Femi@Lagos: I dey. how ur side. Emeka@SA: I dey bam. No shaking. I go enter lag next week o. Emeka@SA: Why can't your king be insulted, but you can insult the SA king. Are they not both humans? Femi@Lagos: Look, even if what my king did was wrong, the kingship extends beyond the person. It's the stool that must me respected. Emeka@SA: What nonsense are you saying, is the stool the king or the person the king? Does the Zulu king not also have a stool? abegi Me: Guys, abeg take it easy. Both of you have a point you know. Emeka, despite what Femi's king said -and Femi admits it was wrong- it might be too much for you to insult his king to his face. After all, I am yet to hear of two men who when quarrelling one calls the mum of the other an ashawo to his face even if this is a known fact in the community. Emeka@SA: what nonsense. So if Hitler were alive and had children, are you saying the Jews cannot insult Hitler anytime they are near his children. Me: Ehmm... I think that example is too extreme Femi@Lagos: Esere why are you bothering yourself with this idiot. He would soon say he is a Jew. Abegi all flat heads should all go and die. Maybe that's what the SA's are helping us accomplish. me: Haba Femi, that is cruel naw. Emeka@SA: That's the way of these coward, gambari slaves. Always wishing death on others and then hiding behind others to bring it to pass. Femi@Lagos: Although I was upset, I did not mean every word I said about you guys dying sha. Emeka@SA: Yes, like how we hear that your king was only joking when he said that we would be drowned abi? Femi@Lagos: I remember clearly that your own kings where busy clapping and cheering my king when he made the statement. That means it was a joke. Emeka@SA: They were only being smart. How could they have done otherwise in the palace. So that your king would immediately dispatch them to the lagoon abi?. Me: Permit me to interject. Guys, imagine if the Lagos king had also said that all the igbo women would be ravished. Femi, would this have been considers a joke and not a threat by a stretch of your imagination? Emeka would your leaders have also clapped too to this jest or threat in order to escape the palace? Femi@Lagos: Esere you are an ignoramus. You think you a re smart abi Emeka@SA: Esere you are a tribalist, you don't want my people to progress. goat. Me: Abeg make una no vex oooo. *logs off |
Three friend hook up in a social media platform to discuss current happenings Femi@Lagos: These South Africans are xenophobic mehn. Can you believe the way they are attacking foreigners and 9jas after how we helped them conquer apartheid. Emeka, i don't know what u people are still doing there Emeka@SA: Its not about being here. This is an African country and we contribute to the economy just the way we have MTN and DSTV in Nigeria Femi@Lagos: I hope you flat heads did not provoke them by saying that you make up 70% of their population and that SA is a no man's land Emeka@SA: Femi, u dey craze. It's not only Nigerians that they are attacking they are attacking other Africans too. Me: its' so sad o. How did it all begin? Emeka@SA: It their useless South African Zulu king. He said something about foreigners not being welcomed, and pronto his people went on rampage. Me: but I can't recall the Zulu king saying anything to the effect of encouraging his people to attack foreigners. Femi@Lagos: The king should know better. He should know that whatever he says can be echoed by his illiterate followers and given a new and dangerous life. Me: I guess that's' true. Femi@Lagos: Can you believe that the kings spokesperson offered another statement in which the king stood by his earlier statement. That king na proper goat o. Me: Ehm,,.. Femi, I remember that some weeks ago, your own king in Lagos threatened that Igbos will drown in the lagoon if they vote against his favoured candidate. Emeka@SA: Don't mind that irresponsible Lagos king. Femi@Lagos: Who are you calling irresponsible. Watch your mouth. How dare you insult my king if you don't have kings in your area respect yourself... skaliwag, insolent buffoon, clueless anima. |
AhmedMustapha:Interestingly, at first glance, I think I agree with everything you wrote You reasoning is very sound. The original post is meant to promote elucidated discuss like you've provided on factors that can link job creation to power consumption and other policies and to dispel the common misconception that 24hr electricity automatically equates to job creation on the scale that Nigeria would need It's almost designed like common entrance exams that tests for verbal and logical reasoning aptitude. All Hakim's I've met are tall does not mean that every tall person is called Hakim I've had a laugh reviewing some of the comments made heresome subtly seem to be more concerned in mentally simplifying the discuss to me being anti APC, or anti tribe, or anti-common man OR me feeling like a smart fellow ![]() and their reaction to their inabilities is to reach out for their local and international dictionaries and look for all insults they can muster But I digress Kudos to you, but at this point, I believe you must be smiling to yourself now and thinking actually esere826 did not say that "the stability of power in the country will have little or no effect on the rate of unemployment" |
taharqa:trillion is a good figure to use in propaganda sensible people from both APC and PDP would know that it is impossible and just laugh without bothering to dissect it dumbos on the other hand will start screaming and wetting their pants about this ridiculous figure which they do not even have the ability to comprehend in the first place this my friend is sensationalism at its peak and meant for silly folks to sip on. |
Akainzo:it took 4 years for this case to get here I don't think it will affect Tambuwal. Our judiciary is notoriously slow Even if it does affect him, he would be hinted so he can bow out gracefully |
atlwireles:Agreed but if hurdles are introduced to slow them down from switching at the drop of a hat I think it would prevent parties from thinning out too quickly like ANPP thinned out fast |
uken73:I agree there should be more hurdles for none-elected officials too this would ensure that when you are going into a party you are sure that its constituents are like-minded kudos to the judiciary although this was late in coming however its lateness enabled APC succeed, and it was important that the system was given a shock that opposition is able to win at the federal level too |
atlwireles:I guess none elected folks can still defect |
ANGER nonsense ![]() since 2011 what kind of judgement is this? medicine after death what is the implication on Mimiko, Mimiko's deputy, Rochas, Amaechi, Tambunwal, Kwara State governor, et al? JOY anyway sha. this judgement is brilliant ..I'm elated it should hopefully curb defections in future democracy has to be deepened instead of this jumping around of politicians as if they are acting Matrix ![]() |
some igbos and yorubas always fighting online then screwing themselves offline una well done ooooo |
@OP great photo and quite revealing it feels so pure, no pretence |
belabela:get a proper education it would do you some good in reading between the lines if u like shout and kill urself for APC or PDP na u know God bless your hustle in the new 49 man laptop squad ![]() |
belabela:don't be a fool the op's post is based on same story as your link it has not changed the fact that parties including APC tend to be silent on silly propaganda that favours them are u sick or something or plain daft? f.uck off |
yinkeys:I actual started life as an engineer although, I am no longer an engineer, the mathematics and logic skills in engineering has proved useful in excel and programing language stuff it's actually soooooooo interrelated you find out soon ![]() |
SeverusSnape:Although I agree that APC was quite full of propaganda during their campaign (more than PDP who also used propaganda), however this is what your link quotes GMB as saying: “It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said. The newspaper's headline of Buhari saying he'd make one naira equal one dollar surely does not do justice to that quote. APC goons sha at that time, they kept quite and allowed some simpletons buy into this misinformation. |
justwise:Except i missed something no one on this thread that is Nigerian or otherwise has justified the killings. All have condemned it. all we've done is to present our world views in explaining what is happening and what can be done to stop such barbarity and prevent it from ever taking place in the future Some have encouraged that the strategy for avoidance can be owned by immigrants, while some suggest that it should be owned by the government. Others suggest that the strategy should be owned by the SA citizens themselves, some suggest a mixture of ownership. And yet, others are only content with condemning what is happening and then insulting anyone that does not share their world view of how such xenophobic attacks can be mitigated. ..correct me if i'm wrong |
justwise:again... that was my emotive suggestion I also gave another suggestion, and we can go further to add that their government should be more proactive. Whatever works and prevents death. that's what matters |
esere826: justwise:That highlighted phrase was meant to refer to the entire SA (plus any other country were one is more likely to be killed than in the person's current location). like I said, that particular answer is me being simple and emotive, ......but different from my second suggestion which I think is more realistic. |
justwise:My straight forward and emotive answer would be yes, they should avoid going to places were there is a greater probability that they could be killed However, I understand that life doesn't work that way, especially when one is also faced with constant life threatening dangers plus economic challenges in the place where one comes from. So my diplomatic answer would be that those who which to travel to SA should try to gather as much information as possible (positive and negative info) and then use such information to try navigating through the labyrinth that is presently SA. |

I've had a laugh reviewing some of the comments made here
