Greenbirth: babe I am in ghana. Nigerians are not finding it easy there. Everything is blame on nigerians. I real want every west African countries to close there border. If there is no business in ghana no nigerian will be there. Imagine the ghana film industry. If you are a Nigerian and you want to go for audition. Even in audition room you will hear the Ghanaians telling you to go back to your country. Meanwhile many Ghanaian hammer in Nigeria till today. No worry, them never even see anything yet cos the border closure is not targeted at them. There will come a time when we will face them and treat their Bleep up. |

psychologygh: are you alright. Check the amount of exports Ghana exports to Nigeria compared to what Nigeria exports to Ghana. Ghana doesn't need any ECOWAS and if there's a trade war,Nigeria loses 159 million dollars whilst Ghana loses just 80 million dollars. Ghana exports over 17 billion dollars of goods just in 2018 and Nigeria is not even among top 10 export countries of Ghana even in Africa. All our products are exported outside Africa. Its the millions of Nigerians and their businesses in Ghana who loses not Ghana so think well before trying anything foolish with us.We never rely on your zoo. We're not Benin Republic. It's just that those trucks had already set off so they don't know if they should return back. If they do and we start retaliating, hope you don't cry xenophobia again. Shut up. Also people from other Ecowas nations come to Balogun, Computer Village, Trade Fair, etc to buy goods and transport by road.
Watch as importers will start diverting some of their containers meant for Nigeria to Ghana and it'll affect our govt revenue. We're losing manufacturers to Ghana and now we're about to lose importers to Ghana. Loose importers to Ghana? You have forgotten that the items being imported are mostly meant for the Nigerian market. |

ORIENTATION101: the local farmers and manufacturers of local rice re gaining.. they re getting patronage and they re smiling to the bank. Customs made 300b within 2 months it is part of border closure effect.
Nigeria petrol consumption drop by 8millions litres meaning we re saving subsidy funds on 8millions litres.and more than enough petrol to go round
Many nigerians and stakeholders re now actively participating in rice cultivation which we improve self sufficiency in near future Thanks for this good orientation. |

LOMBARDY: Border closure that makes imported things cheaper and local one more expensive, is that one border closure? Yes it is. The local ones will be more expensive at first because the supply chain is not yet fully developed. But soon based on the demand, new supply sources will be established to ever increasing numbers of local producers that were hitherto left without much patronage and then prices will begin to drop. |

Racoon: So what nation have Nigeria evolved into since these parasitic leeches have bastardized every aspects of our national life since 1966 till date?
Guess you're aware that the core northern Nigeria(NE/NW) are theatre of famine, abject poverty, stark illiteracy, senseless bloodshed & killings today? Every nation is a work in progress. even in America bad things happen. They still have killings, homeless people begging to eat, and complaints about the economy. So there is no perfect country. My approach to Nigeria's problems is to be optimistic, pray for my Country and its leaders while doing my best to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria. |

Personally I regret being a Nigerian.
I expressed the above statement on various social media fora about 5 years ago and adduced reasons.
Sadly our leaders are still dilly dallying and turning round like barber chair as we'll say in warri

Increase in VAT will increase inflation rate and poverty 3 OPEC bench mark for Nigeria is 1.8 million barrels per day 1. Brent crude as at now sells at over $59 per barrel. The price of crude will likely increase due to the issues around Iran sanctions, possibility of military skirmishes around the Strait of Hormuz, any further attacks on Saudi oil installations, Venezuela etc |

FarahAideed: The Nigerian constitution very explicit as regards the role of the Nigerian armed forces and provisos guiding their deployment and I can tell you for free the Constitution doesn't avail the Nigerian military and civil policing role except where the Constitution is suspended and martial law enacted by way of declaration of of emergency approved by both Legislative houses ... You are not a very smart person And that's your reason for supporting such a failed govt I guess .. tell me on thing the Buhari govt has got right that is making you support them ? Just one thing !!!! I can see how smart you are, not being able to quote relevant sections of the constitution to prove your baseless allegations. Tell me, did you not ever see the army checkpoints and patrols carrying out stop and search during the time of Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan? The Buhari government has ended fuel scarcity, is successfully constructing railways, promoting the agricultural sector, carrying out massive social investment programs like Npower etc. There are many more reasons why I do support the present government. I do not however attack those who do not. |

FarahAideed: Dislodge them from where? The same bandits the governor of Katsina went to pay homage to along with army in tow ? The same bandits the govts knows about their locations and even want to open Ruga for? The same Terrorists the Buhari govt knows how to channel ransomes safely to?
The military says it's carryout a Nation wide stop and search even in cities looking for bandits whose locations they know?
My friend is Nigeria is under Martial law tell us now so we can keep quiet but we cannot be running a democracy and you tell us otherwise Rivers State government and other SS governments have met with and granted amnesty to militants before. They do these gestures as an olive branch to persuade criminals to change. If the criminals continue carrying out attacks however, these governments do still go after them. I did not see you cry blue murder then. It is therefore not new what the katsina state government did. You are still making wild, unsubstantiated allegations. Simply provide me with what part of the constitution stops the army from carrying out stop and search while carrying out security operations. |

FarahAideed: Stop being shallow and emotional and read the below
I have ID card but I am saying the military is not a police force to stop me and ask for my ID card ...is Nigeria under Martial law ? If it is then Buhari should do the right thing and step down , suspend the National assembly and then declare Nation wide martial law ?
Giving the ARMY arbitrary powers to stop and question citizens is total breach of the Constitution as regard the rights of the citizens and even constitutional role of the military You are the one being shallow and also narrow minded. The military has been called in to help dislodge Book Haram terrorist and cross border bandits. The moment they were called in, they are allowed to deploy any legal means necessary to counter the ever changing tactics of the terrorists. I don't think them conducting stop and search, checking IDs etc is illegal. Pls quote the portion of the constitution that prohibits the army from conducting stop and search. |

FarahAideed: It's getting worse !!! The rights of Nigerians to live freely is being heavily breached by this same govt ...The Buhari govt knows who the bandits are , where they stay and has even proposed to build Rugas for them and even sent a whole governor to pay them a visit in their camp but yet today they want ordinary citizens to provide them with ID cards before the can move around freely Why do you have a problem with this, don't you have a means of identification? How does asking for an ID breach your rights for crying out loud? Allow the security agencies do their work. |

isthatso: Govt can only spend what it has, people dont realise that all the money we get from Oil is nothing, it only sounds big on paper, our population is too much amd we dont pay taxes.
our entire revenue from oil is about $30B a year we have a population of 200m that's roughly $150 (N54,000) per person a year for roads, power, education, health, etc
Think about it. Don't forget that it is not FG alone that receives and uses oil revenue. Oil revenue along with VAT and other revenue like custom duties etc are shared monthly between the FG, States and LGAs based on the established revenue sharing formula. |
