Mamaroon: It not easy to put one's essays out there Sometimes people are shy......
To give the thread more uuummmphhh, I suggest we share something new about the French language we have learnt recently, last week, last month. It may seem mundane, but it just might help someone else.
It can be a word, a concept, anything French. I learned not too long ago that amour, orgue and délice are masculine when used in the singular form and feminine when used in the plural form. Is French not crazy like this? I also learned a new word 'abracadabrantesque' which simply means 'exaggerated'. Thought it was a joke till I looked it up. Lol NB: Did you say shy? Being shy and learning a foreign language is a terrible combination. If you're shy on a faceless forum, how can you then practice oral expression? |

Aliii: bros come Yankee make you know weytin dey sup..have you ever asked why they marry in Nigeria AnD never think of taking their wife along with them ,they will cuz you unnecessary problem..oga should have married someone else there continued his life and send they money for up keep life continues..even his guys warned him ooo,he nor hear . For all it's worth, I live in Canada. I don't argue that some women don't cause problems for their husbands. I am saying a lot of women still live well with their husbands after coming abroad so saying 'I hate Nigerian women' is sexist and over reaching. We men have our faults too. Some of us live in the Western world where women have equal rights with men and yet we try to subdue our women with the fear that they will be difficult to manage if allowed to explore. At the end, this makes them turn against us. A lot of homes are broken here cause some Nigerian men can't bear the slightest hint of equality. My point is, if the OP's wife is terrible (neglecting the dangers of one sided stories), then she should be criticized and not 'Nigerian women'. You don't bash all women cause of the action of some. If we treat men-related issues like this, nobody will like Nigerian men as well. |

Bonjour à tous.
Je m'appelle étrange.
La collaboration et l'interdépendance ici sont vraiment époustouflantes et j'encourage tout le monde à continuer dans cette direction.I've noticed a couple of off-thread/offline language learning assistance strategies. That's very commendable and I challenge everyone to take advantage of this as much as possible. However, in a bid to keep our thread alive, I also encourage us to bring the results of whatever we learned outside to this place so we can get more insight, share knowledge and have fun while at it. Essays, questions on grammar and vocabulary, etc. can be shared here for contributions (it's been long I saw an essay here). A couple of people contacted me and asked if they could send thier essays to me for review, I agreed but I didn't get any eventually. Shout out to everyone keeping the thread alive, Mamaroon, Fabguen, etc. You guys are helplessly passionate and we're here for it! NB: Fabguen, you sent me a mail which I've responded to twice but you never got back to me Good luck and best regards to everyone! |

OP, I guess this is what you want to hear. Lads hating and bashing Nigerian women for the actions of some. As if we all hate Nigerian men for the rape stories we read everyday. |

Saying 'I am not a saint. I was hot tempered but I have changed' is you first trying to put yourself in a good light before the audience. You then went ahead to spend time describing your wife as complete devil. And then I wonder what the point of creating this thread is. You want us to help you call your wife names and encourage you to do the things you want to do anyway? You're the one telling the story; of course, she'll be the villain/protagonist in it.
Lol... I smell fake story biko. A man, even though a loggerheads with his wife, won't come online to write such a long epistle without any reminiscence of good old times. You can't tell me you married a witch from the onset.
Ok... you've gotten us to comment. Lol |

Foreign Affairs › Germany Passes Law Banning 'Gay Conversion Therapy' For Minors by etrange(op): 5:27am On May 12, 2020 |
Germany's parliament has passed a law banning so-called "gay conversion therapy" for young people nationwide.
The legislation is intended to stop groups offering the service - which claims to be able to change a person's sexual orientation - to under-18s.
Those breaking the new law can face up to a year in prison, or a €30,000 ($32,535; £26,268) fine.
Research suggests the controversial practice can lead to depression and increase the risk of suicide.
Under the law, passed on Thursday evening, minors will not be allowed to take part in medical interventions aimed at changing or suppressing their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Parents and legal guardians can also be punished for making their children take part through deception, coercion or threats.
Health Minister Jens Spahn, who is gay himself, announced plans to ban the practice last year Conversion therapy practices can include hypnosis and electric shocks. But experts say the word 'therapy' is misleading because there is no scientific basis for it.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said a robust law was needed to protect it from court challenges, adding that most people who attended treatment were young people forced to do so by others.
"They should feel strengthened when the state, when society, when Parliament makes it clear: we do not want that in this country," said Mr Spahn, who is gay himself.
Mr Spahn, a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU) party, first announced plans to ban the practice last June, and a bill was drafted in November.
However critics argue the law does not go far enough. Germany's opposition Green Party has called for the age limit to be raised to 26 - the Left Party wants it to be 27.
Around 1,000 people are subjected to conversion therapy in Germany every year, according to the Magnus Hirschfeld Foundation, a Berlin-based human rights organisation.
The practice is outlawed in Switzerland and areas of Australia, Canada and the US. Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52585162?fbclid=IwAR22Qn7PLmEe-7P7XwRS_6YOlebE_smIqBI3r4pd9drxz_UeAgY6iafhQJ4Cc: dominique, Lalasticlala, Mynd44, Seun, Sissy3

You wouldn't be comparing yourself to animals if you were here in North America. Whicever way, please, do not harm yourself because you did not make yourself. Just know that doing any of the barbaric things you always write of on your threads is more animalistic than loving a fellow man. |

gamapoy539: If you think the landlady prevented her from going out so she won't contract and bring home the virus, joke's on you; you are wrong. of all the jealous creatures in the world, women hold a top-flight rank.
The real reason she blocked her is probably because of the gift she bought for her husband (landlord) during last year's fathers day celebration; 16 pairs of boxers and a humugus load of bananas while she was away. and this has made her become over suspicious of the relationship between her and her husband. what aggravated the whole situation was that she overhead her husband fixing a freaky appointment over the phone with an unidentified lady which led to her calling the police after she caught two of them smiling sheepishly at each other while he was going out.
The same thing happened to my landlord. i am yet to recover from the accidental blow mama salitu landed on my face after catching my landlord in my room on top of his side chicks i help him arrange. ahmEenu: I fear who no fear landlady. even devil dey learn from them..
that's why most people prefer landlord than landlady. they are very heartless You both are just a low life sexists. On this same front page, we saw and read the story of five men that raped an 18 year old girl in Kaduna, we criticized the individuals like we always do when such stories are shared but no one called men the most heartless beings. But once a lady is involved, women are collectively bashed and called all sorts of names just to satisfy your mangled ego and low self esteem. |

A fool at forty is a fool forever. Then what is a fool at fifty? If there is no hope at all, then what what does the OP mean by his last paragraph? And how has calling the country a zoo made anything better? You label yourselves animals before the world and you think that's a way forward? How smart. |

OP, there is nothing shocking about this. Google is a computer program that deals with data supplied to it. It does not have a mind of its own. It's what you feed it with it will give you back. You guys go around calling your country a zoo online; you tell the Internet your country is called a zoo and turn around to ask the same Internet which country is called a zoo. It tells you its Nigeria and you seem all shocked, what were you expecting? Funny you're even using this as a motivation. You remain resolute in your drive to see positive changes by calling your country a zoo before the world. How exactly does that help to drive positive changes? When you're denied visa or treated like animals abroad, you scream racism but you are here dealing with internalized racism. |

Shelumiel: People like you are the reason why Nigeria is in the mess it is today. Ghana is doing far far better than Nigeria in terms of testing capacity and data keeping. So what the hell are you saying. The records they keep are far more accurate than what our jokers called leaders are doing. Imagine that lard who calls himself Gov. Sanwo Olu saying there are 3000 untested samples in Lagos due to a lack of the necessary reagents to carryout the test. Is that an excuse for not being up and doing at a time like this? Continue being complacent with Nigeria. By the time covid-19 visits you...you'll surely have a different story. Noisyrians: You should more concerned with what is happening in Kano. How many tests have been done in Nigeria, compared with Ghana? I'm not comparing Nigeria and Ghana. That will be doing the same thing I'm criticising. I only pointed out that they have their own serious issues to deal with too. Shelumiel, I don't stay in Nigeria. However, it's even far worse where I am. My point is, the pandemic is causing havoc around the world. But despite the death rates, other countries are encouraging their medics but here we are mocking the efforts of ours in lame comparisons. We can call our governments to do better but we must desist from saying things that undermine the efforts of our medical practitioners. |

You guys just seek every opportunity to insult your country even when it's lame. 550 cases in a single batch in a country with that population is very serious sign of perilous times ahead. Besides, this is a sudden skyrocketing so it's too early to start comparing death and recovery rates. |

Ochiban: I completely disagree. In Sharia countries where women are completely covered- men are vibrating from seeing a girls shoulder. In nigeria, men vibrate when they see thighs. In Europe where dressing is scandalous, men vibrate only for naked women. It shows that its not what the woman is wearing that is the issue, otherwise all men would behave the same to the same amount of exposure.
Remember that int he beginning, both were naked.
This immorality is WITHIN us. let us stop with the original sin of Adam and Eve with blaming outside influences for our internal lack of faith.
I'm not saying social media and outside things like porn are good- they make things worse for sure. But please stop putting the responsibility of your own holiness on someone else's dressing or TV. Vow within your own heart that you will not look at another woman lustfully You have a great mind. It baffles me when people tactfully blame women for the acts of men. We can never solve the problem if we keep shying away from the truth. |
