So you guys are celebrating the flood in another country cause you somehow believe it scores you some religious points? I really don't know the problem with people. Why would you guys allow anything whatsoever to erode your humanity? Many countries have suffered floods in recent years. Even Nigeria has suffered flood. I didn't see any of you praising God. Some of y'all even said the devil was a liar. And then it happened in Brazil, and it's worth celebrating? You take it upon yourselves to choose when to attribute bad things to the devil and when to attribute them to God based on whichever one suites your narrative better? Shame on you!
CareerRe: With Excellent Steps Like This, You Won't Have To Worry About Quality Test by etrange: 2:24pm On Mar 13, 2023
seiyefajohn:
Excellence is the mark or height that we must aim at. Quality is a substandard version of excellence. Excellence is quality personified. Go for excellence and you won't have to worry about quality test.
Hhmm... I don't know what led to this write-up, but quality test and excellence are not mutually exclusive. They go hand-in-hand. There is no single factor called "excellence". Excellence is a combination of all the factors that make the final product exceptionally good (in other words, all the superior qualities of the product). Quality test is a test carried out to ascertain that the final product has all these superior qualities. When developing a coop, if being sturdy and durable is what makes it excellent, and you aim for this in the manufacturing process, then quality test in this case is a test of its sturdiness and durability. In the absence of quality test, you simply can't tell if your product is excellent.

On a lighter note, only a human (or, at least, a physical figure) can be a personification of something. Excellence cannot be quality personified when excellence itself is not a person.

CelebritiesRe: Tems Slammed For Her "Rude" View-Blocking Dress At The Oscars (video) by etrange: 1:46pm On Mar 13, 2023
Awwn... she wasn't well informed. She probably thought it would be like the Grammies were people dress like this cause the sitting arrangement permits it. Oscars attracts a different type of artist, they don't usually dress like this. Most times, they put on detachable add-ons that can be removed after the red-carpet. However, we must also acknowledge that we've seen worse dressed people at the Oscars before. It just wasn't her best day.

Meanwhile, people already attacking ladies on this thread are incorrigible. Imagine if we start calling out men for all the news that involve men on this platform. You guys are just so narrow minded.
TravelRe: Lady Kicks Her Hubby Out Of His Own Home In UK After He Brought Her From Nigeria by etrange:
Sad to watch.

Let's assume it's not a skit. What did he do? His actions here are very calculated. He's not angry or even emotional. He's recording her and saying exactly what he wants the people watching the video to hear. That's not the typical reaction of an innocent black man. If someone is kicking you out of your own house, all you have to do is to call the police. The law is not arbitrary, so they won't support her blindly. But he didn't do that. He made a video saying things like "honey", "let me settle", etc. without addressing the reason he's being kicked out. He clearly seeks the sympathy of the biased African demography. The lady on the other is very upset and couldn't care less about sounding nice or pleasing anyone at the moment. That's someone who's been hurt.

Before y'all come for me, please know that no woman has the right to wake up and kick her partner out of thier house just like that. They pay the rent/mortgage together, and the lady has just as much right as the man (it's not like Africa where the man is the only source of income in many homes). To kick one partner out of the house, you must obtain a legal permission for that. Such permissions are given on the ground of abuse, cheating, etc. So whenever you see a man leaving the house for a woman without making a fuss, he must have done something that he wouldn't want to get to court. So they just give in at the moment and resort to reasoning afterwards or, like in this case, appeal to public sympathy.

I see how this video can be triggering to Nigerians who are used to having it the other way round. Y'all forget that men throw women out of the house everyday in Nigeria and nobody makes a big deal about it. The logic is, it is his house. So going by that same logic, when it is not just his house anymore, it makes sense that he becomes just as accountable as the woman.

I wish them peace!

I never doubted you. I said I don't think he has a nice voice. That's my opinion. That his voice could be described in technical terms doesn't mean it would be appealing to everyone. I prefer Timi cause, like you said, his voice is smoother. And I'm sure I'm not the only who have this opinion on Davido's voice. Music is an art, and art is subjective. You're a vocalist, I'm sure you know that.

If this guy was someone that walked into your office and showed you his video, you wouldn't say what you typed up there. But here you are feeling OK with mocking him because it's the internet. I wasn't expecting you to take your words back, just learn to let people start small or try new things without feeling the need to shut them down because you can't do it yourself.

not to derail the thread. YouTube is not for everyone. I never said the world revolves around my opinion. This is how thousands go on xfactor, the voice nigeria and the likes when they clearly have no singing talent 🤣🤣
No need to drag this.

If you acknowledge that the world doesn't revolve around your opinion, then you invariably acknowledge that you're not in a position to say who YouTube is for and who it's not for. Even in the music industry you made reference to, people have been told they could never become musicians because they didn't have what it takes, and yet they ended up being famous musicians later in life. Even those people who failed in these shows you mentioned are contempted they gave it a shot. If not, they'd forever wonder how things would have turned of they had just tried. If you don't like his content, don't subscribe. It's that that simple. If he does it for some time and no one subscribes, he'd be happy he tried and found out it's not for him. He definitely doesn't need your discouragement, mockery or negative energy in general. And if you find anything lacking in his videos, you could point that out without implying he'd never make it or laughing at his efforts.

Did you for a second put yourself in his shoe? That dude is trying something new to see where it might lead him. Imagine going out of your way to research a topic, organize your work, buy data bundle, get your environment ready, get a recorder, and pick up the courage to do a YouTube video, and the first comment is how you wouldn't make it with a laughing emoji. And your excuse is "life is not fair". Does life need your help to stay unfair? You're not a teenager. You could have told him he needed to work on his presentation voice instead mocking him like a primary school student just because you can. The philosophy of "you don't have this particular feature, so you will not make it" is ridiculous because you don't know what other factors he has going on for him. While having a good voice is good for presentation, being a YouTuber goes beyond that. So he could make up in other areas or even improve on his voice.
EducationRe: Top Ten Most Dangerous Animals In The World! by etrange: 3:12pm On Mar 11, 2023
ednut1:
life is not fair, truth is bitter also. I would not try YouTube myself cos i dont have a very good voice. Maybe animation or AI generated audio/ pictures would be better.
Then you practically projected your own insecurity on him. Life is not fair is not an excuse to be inconsiderate. And your truth is definitely not his truth. He might not have the voice, accent, environment or charisma that appeals to you, but the internet has millions of users, and there are many of us out here willing to overlook these things for good contents. This might be his little beginning and he can always improve in all these regards including his presentation voice. Besides, once this guy horns his presentation skills, his voice wouldn't even be a limitation. Davido doesn't have the best voice, but his musical skills saw him through. Chinedu WAZOBIA is no Trevor Noah, but he's doing great. The Ordinary President of Brekete Family is no Obama, but he's doing just fine.

So before you shut down someone because they didn't come out as good as others you already know or because they have a feature that doesn't appeal to you or because they didn't start off being experts from day one, please think it through because Rome was not built in a day, and the world doesn't revolve around your opinion. I've seen enough of your comments on here to know you have the capacity to do that.

Those guys at Canada are all broke, they can't afford to buy flight ticket to Nigeria. If u are abroad u will understand why I arrived at this conclusion..... You can't have money and not want to visit naija at any given opportunity.
Hhmm... I think he's upset that they decided to go to Canada for the reunion, not that they are already in Canada and refused to come Nigeria. You say those in Canada are broke. So the guy in Nigeria is rich and he's complaining? Toronto to Lagos is about $650 while Lagos to Toronto is more than N360k. Who do you think is more likely to afford a one way trip, the average guy in Canada or the average guy in Nigeria?

Coming to Nigeria is a big deal not just because of the flight but mostly because it comes with a lot of planning and overheads for those that are based abroad. The flight tickets aside, they all plan towards taking thier vacation at the right time, having where to stay (for those landing in a city where they don't have any family house), people to visit, people to buy things for, people to give money, etc. (if you miss anyone, you'd easily create a bad blood). And trust me, nobody in Canada wants to be doing that all the time. So someone who decides to take a break from work once a year or thereabouts to plan a trip to Nigeria isn't necessarily broke (except the word "broke" has another meaning I don't know about).

Those that always go to and from do it cause thier line of business requires that, and many of them live in Nigeria. They don't do it because they want to travel at every opportunity as you implied. If that was the case, why would they even wait for an opportunity? They might as well carry thier bags and come home every other week.

This mother of the poor child must be a very careless one to leave her 5 years old in the hand of a testosterone-charged 15 years old teenager. Meanwhile, the juvenile rapist should be committed to prison fast with hard labour.
As usual, the first reaction is to find the nearest woman to blame. Things like this will keep happening until we start giving the boy child as much attention as we give the girl child. This idea of always putting everything on women might make y'all temporarily feel good, but in reality, it doesn't do anyone any good. Y'all constantly police girls, what they're wearing, who they're seeing, how they walk, how they talk, how they cook, etc., all while ignoring the boy child cause "boys will always be boys". The boys are giving the laissez-faire to do just about anything. Even as adults, we treate their promiscuity with kid gloves. At the end, these girls we're grooming still end up in the same society as the boys we neglected. They either become just as bad as the boys or they become victims like this poor girl. Meanwhile, people like you would still look for the nearest woman to blame. Shame.

1) The point where I said that there were particular natural orders of things escaped your attention, I suppose.

2) I cannot talk about nature, natural phenomena and the laws that govern them without consulting and making references to my Scriptures.
1) You said homosexuality defiles the earth, and that makes people suffer. I asked how, and your answer is that there's a particular order of things? We're talking about people's lives here, and you're giving these vague and shallow answers? How does two men kissing in their room make you suffer. Give a practical answer with examples.

2) That's all you had to say to end this chat, bro. The only justification you have for discriminating a certain minority is your Bible. That's what I've always maintained, and like I said, there's no discussion to be had in that case. This is where I stopped reading.

You cannot justify homophobia in practical terms yet you hate them so much that you had to create a thread to express the hatred in a country where they are already discriminated as it is. The good thing is, it's only a matter of time before the gay people in Africa gets thier freedom. Humans will always discriminate against other humans of different nature, but freedom comes when it is due. Blacks fought the good fight, and they are better off today. Women in some parts of the Middle East are fighting the good fight, and things are brightening up for them. Gay people in Africa will have thier time.

By the way, real straight people don't wake up thinking about homosexuals and they definitely don't go about creating threads about them. Talk to someone if you need to.

Ciao !

Etrange, there are also spiritual causes of wars.

Two people who are in same-sex relationship may not be causing harm to anyone directly, but the abominable and unnatural act defiles the earth. When the earth is defiled, who suffers it? So, you see, etrange, homosexuality is a dangerous act. It constitutes danger to both the perpetrators and the others. This is simple to understand.

What if a person decides to pollute the only source of drinking water in his/her community, should he/she be allowed to do him/her?

What would my culture say about something that was never part of it? Such an act would have been considered strange and those who were caught in it dealt with. In fact, such an act was unheard of. We have names for many things, but there is no name for homosexuality in my language.

Homosexuality has been in existence since time immemorial, so have the evil spirits.

Can you mention some of the African cultures that weren't homophobic?
I see. It defiles the earth, it pollutes the earth, it's abominable, etc. These are the things you've been saying. The question is, without making reference to the Bible, how does two the idea of two people of the same gender falling love defile your earth? I see how polluting the source of drinking water in a community affects everyone. But how is that analogy a premise to your conclusion that homophobia is good thing? How do you suffer when Mr. A kisses Mr. B?

When I asked what your culture said about homosexuality, I mean what was the disposition of your people towards gay men and women back then. If those caught in act were dealt with like you said, it would mean your culture said it was bad. However, that wasn't the case. We heard stories of people killing twins, we heard stories of people fighting over lands, we heard stories evil step mothers and co-wives, we heard stories of witches, etc. But we never heard any story of gay people being beaten or jailed or exiled. There was no evidence of homophobia before colonization. And when I say your culture, I mean the African culture in general. In fact, the fact that you referenced the Bible as the basis of your argument simply shows that homophobia does not predate the introduction of the Bible to Africa.

Live and let live.

This is not true. Africans did not have any need for homophobia because we were not under the Curse in Romans 1:24/ 27.

Homophobia is nature's way of saying "destroy this abomination quickly lest evil and curses come."

But now the cursed has transmitted their curses to Africa and now our blessed Africa is now cursed.
Hhmm... Your religion is no not based any natural laws, sir. In fact, that statement violates the definition of religion. When you call on the Bible to substantiate your argument, it makes it difficult to have a chat with you. You just can't have a conversation with someone of a different religion using your Bible as a basis. It makes zero sense. I don't know why you guys don't see that. There's nothing to discuss if you can't set your religion aside. When we all start viewing the world through the lense of our respective religions, it begets crises. Bokoharam, ISIS, etc. came about as a result of people not being able coexist with people of different beliefs. The fact that we're educated means we should know when to stick with our religion without forcing it down the throats of others.

Meanwhile, I said there was no homophobia in Africa before the advent of the white man. I don't see how homophobia in Russia in 2013 answers that. Africa had gay people before the white man. The Yoruba word for a gay person predates the advent of the white man. Africa (and some other cultures around the world) had no need for homophobia because there was nothing in ATR that antagonized gay people.

Discrimination of any kind is never nature's way of communicating. Discrimination is man-made. It is born out of man's inability to accommodate differences. If you want to protect nature, plant trees, makes laws to control hunting, use green energy, etc. Stop killing people and saying you're protecting nature. It's just not logical.
