elated177:It's okay if your religion is against homosexuality. What is not okay is you using your religion to judge others. The logic of "my religion does not permit this, therefore you must not do it" makes zero sense. Regardless of how attached one is to his religion, he must not lose sight of the fact that there others who either have other religions or are completely irreligious. You've already said they're not hurting anyone. You don't have to go out of your way to drag them or jail them like in Nigeria. If you believe being gay is bad, don't be gay. However, let others who believe otherwise be themselves. Your Bible tells you they're destroying the world, yet none of the major wars in the past was caused by gay people. These wars were mostly caused by men who don't know how to coexist with people of different opinions, lifestyles or features. So you know what really destroyed the earth? Your inability to live and let live. The world would be a better place if you just do you and let others be. It was never part of your culture? Ok, let's get this straight. When I asked what your culture said about it, I wasn't really asking if there were gay men back then. That's because the existence of gay people is not peculiar to any culture or time. Gay people have been in existing for as long as man has been around. What changes over time is people's disposition towards them. So the question I was asking is, have you ever heard any story of gay people being attacked in those days? Homophobia was imported into Africa by Europeans. Many African cultures were not homophobic before the advent of the white man. |
Lol... you guys are just funny. You make quotations from your holy book and then you turn around to say it's not a matter of whether one believes or not. How do you expect Mr. A to conform to your holy book if he doesn't believe in it? So you're judging everyone using your Bible as a standard? You want to judge someone who doesn't necessarily practice your religion using your holy book as the ultimate yardstick? How are you different from bokoharam? How does the fact that the Bible was written one million years ago add value to your argument? Was it impossible for people to be wrong back then? The Bible says it hurts the earth, so everyone is supposed to believe it hurts the earth and that is it? No explanation, no logic? What did your own culture say about same sex relationship before Christianity was forced down the throats of your ancestors? The same people that introduced homophobia using religion as a tool have realized thier mistake, but you've decided to live with it because the black man only cares about discrimination whe he's on the recieving end. |
peter0071:Hahaha... your fruit is local apple? Why do y'all see your things through the eyes of a white man. Someone said udara/agbalumo is bush apple. ![]() |
YungMillionaire: plantist:Winning percentages? You realise the fake results are in favor of PDP and APC? |
Why do you want to show them? Because you're such a nice person, right? |
So you created such a bold headline based on your gut feeling? You guys are are so careless with information in Nigeria. |
AndroidAI:Hhmm... This type of "takeaway" sounds smart when written on paper, but the moment you start to analyze such statements, you realize how fallacious they are. When you say "don't procreate if you don't have the capacity to give your kids the best", the question becomes, what is the best? Whose best are we referring to? Your best or my best? The best a parent can give as an individual or the best according to a certain predefined standard? Even the poorest man could still give his best (which may not meet the basic needs of the child). On the other hand, you don't expect an average man not to procreate because he can't give his kid the kind of treatment a billionaire would give his. Therefore, considering the fact that the word "best" is relative in this context, I believe the right statement should be, don't procreate if you can't meet the basic needs of the kid. This is just my opinion on your concluding statement and has nothing to do with the OP's situation. I saw your post while scrolling through the Trending page. |
They probably arrested him to agitate his followers and make them disrupt Saturday's election in thier opponent's stronghold areas. If y'all like, fall for it. |
The way Nairaland pushes unverified news to the frontpage is alarming. There is no such book in Kenya. A little research would have made it clear this is fake news. This same illustration has been in circulation for long with different headlines. It used be Kenya until the Kenyan education department came out to say they know nothing about the book. And now, y'all have pinned it on Zambia. Fake news no dey tire you people? It appears the illustration is actually from book published in the UK. |
The same Buhari you guys presented as infallible. It's the electorate I blame. |
APC and PDP logos are the most well-known logos out there. This is an expected result. |
Ibrahimcoomasie:Lol... seriously, people are allowing thier dislike for the West to push them into supporting a man who's out to reek havoc. America has thier issues worth discussing, but as far as the Ukraine/Russia war is concerned, there's simply no way to justify invading a sovereign country and killing her citizens for one's ambitions. One mustn't like the US or the West to know that Putin is a heartless monster. How does taking some parts of Ukraine as Russian territories resolve the issue of NATO? How is it peacekeeping? Who solves internal conflicts by carving out a region for themselves? It's not like it was the first time. Russia pushed Ukraine into the arms of NATO with thier continuous aggression and violation of thier sovereignty. This same Russia is more or less surrounded by NATO at the moment. The major reason he didn't want Ukraine in NATO was because he knew that would affect his chances of taking over those regions. And that was why he started this war abruptly before any meaningful step couldn't be taken in that direction. His philosophy was was "start the war and think of an excuse later". What his followers on here fail to understand is that he is holding them hostage. The major advantage Russia has in this war is Putin's willingness to nuke the world if it comes to it. |
They started the war, yet you couldn't boldly state why you went in in the first place. From peacekeeping to NATO expansions to Donbass liberation. The same people on this platform that swore Russia never had plans to invade Ukraine and that the US was spreading fear with thier warning supported and still support Putin one lie after another; a man who has proven to have no regards for agreements and diplomacy in general. |
StagethemTVee:Stop pitting people against each other for fun. Tiwa is doing great. Tems is awesome. Ayra is wonderful. |
Reinamaria:Nobody said we are all bad. In fact, I'm literally saying the opposite. Someone complimented our movie industry, instead of us to appreciate the person and move on, we're here criticizing our own or fighting each other or even dragging other countries unnecessarily. So maybe you should channel your negative/positive advice to those guys who have failed to appreciate what they have. And while you're doing that, also learn to critically read a comment before baring fangs. |
Nigerians don't know how to take compliments. |
How can they vote your candidate if you don't have the courage to mention his name? |
Indeed you're not here for banters. This obsession with sexuality is becoming something else. You guys just allow your minds to conceive some silly thoughts and then you come here to create threads about them just for the pleasure of discussing sex related subjects. Who goes about asking people if they're virgins so they'd hate them? |
Working in such institutions is not for everyone. Children are naturally mischievous, messy, etc. Most times, this is overshadowed by the love we have for them. However, not everyone has the ability to extend this love beyond their immediate family members. Consequently, not every has what it takes to work in an institution where kids are taken care of. It's a vocation. It's not one of those jobs you do just because you need money. If that's the case, you'll wake up one day and start wondering if the money is worth the stress. And when that frustration sets in, you might end up taking it out on the kids. What I am saying is, if you're going to hit a kid for pooing on herself, stay away from crèche/nursery schools. Fourtygees:You guys reactions to everything is to blame a demography you feel you don't belong to. Instead of you to call out the individual in question, you attack the gender or the tribe or the religion. This herd mentality is the number one problem in Africa and it's holding y'all down so bad. Imagine what could be said about men if we were to call out the gender for all the atrocities committed by men in Nigeria. You guys should be thinking a bit deeper. |
Brendaniel:Nope. There's no provision for the president to deprive you of your citizenship if you're originally Nigerian. I know the law is crazy, but it's not that crazy. He can't just wake up and make a fellow Nigerian country-less for any reason. That's because even though he's the president, he's as much Nigerian as myself and, therefore, can't kick me out of my own country. Read the Nigerian constitution chapter 3, section 30. |
Brendaniel:No, he can't take away my citizenship. He can only do that to naturalized citizens. Even at that, there are conditions that must be met before he will be able to do that without a court order. Law isn't a straight line, such sweeping statements are, therefore, misleading. |
The fact that you still call your so-called friends "aboki" knowing that the term is derogatory is appalling. |
This your title go Havard. |
Did she ask you to marry her? |
Lol... what I find funny was the way he looked at Oshiomhole he was tapped by him. |
Naira redesign is not currency swap. Currency swap is a financial instrument, and that's a different thing entirely. Please, use the right register. |
Lol... I thought he was running cause it's his turn. |
That woman in the first picture is pretty. ![]() |
iHateFraudsters:Not OP's fault. Massive is part of the name of the power bank. The manufacturers are probably referring to the physical size of the item. Hehe... |
That's the occipital. Lol. |
She was asked to leave for not following thier dress code, not for indecent dressing. Those are two very different things. |
