Unfortunately for all of us we're only human... Mistakes are made on both sides but we can only learn from these mistakes if we communicate... |
which saints? what is a saint? who made them saints? |
i'm not being racist here (i'm black) but don't you think that the blacks are more backward than whites (technically and generally). if this world was all Black, then i don't know, . . . . .I think you just inadvertently proved your own point, Seriously though, I hope you re-read what you wrote and realise how ignorant you are. As for the question I would rid the world of people (stupid people) who pass on idiotic beliefs and wholesale generalisations to their children, thus spawning a new generation of idiots, if only, |
Probably the funniest thread I've ever come across... |
I've read it, it's a good, light read... It's a work of fiction and shouldn't be taken as anything more than that... |
Personally I'm of the opinion that far worse atrocities have happened than the September 11th attacks used as a reference point in this piece... Also, religion was simply used as a smoke screen by the attackers to mask their general hatred of Anglo-Saxon culture (which often has nothing to do with religion) and the perceived cultural invasion of their homelands... However, I agree with pretty much everything else he says... |
You could email the pics from your phone to an email account, then save them onto your computer from there. That's what I usually do. |
oh dear... |
chrisd:Maybe it's me but this seems like a problem faced by Christianity in general...scratch that, all monotheistic religions... I'm loving all this finger pointing by the way, pure comedy... |
I still fail to see why the number of followers makes any difference... |
I'm not a Christian, or a Muslim for that matter but I fail to see why the numbers (larger numbers) of Christians/Catholics matters... |
you said this: under the grace of GOD since you are not bounded by the "culture of religion" e.g Sabath worship, speaking in tongues, what ladies wear to church, the list can go on and on.but then...contradiction... GOD does not expect us to be perfect, If we go into sin and realise and take the bold step to repent he will forgive us just like in a relationship.Moral of the story: when trying to break from a group (or mindset of that group) that encourages slavish devotion to unproven dogmatic ideals seek advice from someone outside of said group (i.e not Kirk Franklin). |
not that i care especially, but why isn't the veneration of saints considered idolatry ![]() |
ahahahahahaha... how old are you guys.... |
what's "a way off" layi ![]() |
Idekeson...the problem you speak of; the property distruction etc. is down to economics. Do you really think that if all the young men who go around starting riots were gainfully employed with households to take care of that they would have the time or the energy to riot and kill ![]() The fact of the matter is you continue to talk about a fringe group who take advantage of a bad situation to push their own agenda... The same thing is happening in the U.S and other Western countries, where right-wing groups, many of whom claim to follow Christian doctrine are effectively taken advantage of by their leaders... There's a similar situation with regards to Jews in Israel where fringe leaders are taking advantage of a disenfranchised and largely ignorant group... |
Every society that 'choose' to adopt Christianity has their own interpretation of what he was supposed to have looked like. So in Ethiopia and to the Afro-Brazilian populace Jesus is depicted as a man with brown skin and black hair, like them. In Europe Jesus is shown to look like the people who reside there... What form Jesus took shouldn't be important, but it is often made out to be...The real question should be: Did the guy even exist?? If so, where are the written records of him outside of the Bible ![]() I'd have a lot more respect for religions if they choose to take what was good from their respective 'faiths' and ignore trivial, childish issues such as this one.... |
I'm not even a Muslim but all these claims that Islam is somehow more decadent, more violent than Christianity is irritating... @Idekeson: If it is not the official doctrine of Islam then how do you substantiate your claim that Islam 'condones' violence against non-believers ![]() What you are talking about are fringe groups, extremes...there are Christian and Jewish extremists who also advocate violence against those who see things differently... |
The other day I advertised a Sony PSP for sale which apparently has attracted the attention of a 419er... Now I'm curious...this may be a stupid question but: how much damage can he do with my name and term time address ![]() |
when did God ever kill people indiscriminately?Oh dear... (I could have a lot of fun with this) Genesis 6:7 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. Genesis 22:2 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. Exodus 12:12 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast |
there are plenty of people who aren't muslims who hate all the things you listed, pheonix... |
but this was done in ignorance..and was not the will of God. again, the Christian God is filled with love, and would never wish upon the death of innocent people. why would He want to see His children being killed? that is why He is so different from Allah, who encourages his followers to persecute and kill those who are non-Muslim.How was it done in ignorance when they used 'scripture' to back their evil deeds? How do you know the Christian God is filled with love when there are so many instances of him killing people indiscriminately, just for living in the wrong part of the world- or so the Bible says... Most importantly, even the lowliest animal knows not to kill one of it's own, human beings aren't any different...murder is innately wrong, we all know this... |
How exactly is the 'Holy Bible' proof that God exists ![]() Wasn't it written by man ![]() |
Islam claims to be a peaceful religion, but how can a peaceful religion kill everyone whom they see as "unbelievers." how can it be a peaceful religion if the very god who is worshipped by so many encourages hatred and murder of those who are not Muslim?unfortunately the christian church also spent a large portion of it's time persecuting and killing those who did not believe what they believed or who dared to question something which they could not understand... it's not just islam that has caused people to be killed, christians have also killed in the name of 'God' with the backing of their religious leaders who have taken passages from their own religious texts to support the evil deeds... both religions encourage hatred and intolerance...both religions raise the question as to how 'God' can allow his own followers to be so malicious... |
I disagree with a lot of what's been said in this thread, on both sides... However, I am curious: @ donnie where is your Biblical quote describing dinosaurs? |
And how exactly is that relevant? What exactly works? It works for them... It may lack credible evidence but some people have been so well indoctrinated that they convince themselves (and their like-minded friends help with this) that it works. Hence thanking God when something goes well instead of thanking the people who made the good deed happen. |
