Nigeria should keep its nonsense money sucking capitals to itself. Give everyone (the biggest nations) regions so they can have their own capitals.

The concept of Biafra is dead. There's Alaigbo now. No need compromising ones identity for other "minorities".

If Alaigbo was on her own it would probably be in the 60s/70s of the list, or maybe 70s/80s.

From the above argument it seems Igbo states are becoming ethnic groups. Since when does the governor of New York, for example, "punish" the state of Pennsylvania for a law passed.

Why bother is with if it's true? Shouldnt you at least first get your facts right before typing and posting what you yourself just highlighted your lack of knowledge about?

Lagos state is the only government in Nigeria that can guarrantee uninterupted power to any single entity in Nigeria, rivers can not, even your federal government can nit.

With more money than Lagos state and a population of just 5 million against Lagos states 18 million and counting, Rivers should not only be looking like Dubai with every village shining under bright light, the should be doing 4 times better than Lagos state, but unfortunately, it's not, lagos state with it's many huge problems, responsibilities and federal neglect, it's still the most productive and best administered state in Nigeria.

It's called competent and efficient governing by leaders with great ideas and visions.

It's a plus and pride for us all to see each state explore their potentials  and apex well, unfortunately, money or no money, some states are not going anywhere or just not moving fast enough in the right direction. Some leaders have no ideas, the lack vision, not worldly educated and lack general personal sophistication. Look at states like bayelsa, delta, imo and akwa with a lot of money and 1-5 million people and their inability to take advantage of the money at their disposal and low demand and responsibilities.
Excuse me, but can you tell us what is in Lagos apart from millions of people?

I think Ifeajuna wanted to topple Ojukwu in a coup, and Nzeogwu never really supported secession.
Both ended up as snags to Biafra's march forward. Imagine fighting a civil war and worrying about coup.
That is why Ojuwku was very security conscious during the war. He was hunted by Nigerians who were seeking to drop bombs on his hideout, and some compromised Igbos. It wasn't an easy war.
I still wonder how Ojukwu was able to fight that war. There was too much treachery and sabotage.
It was by far easier for him not to even bother about starting the war. But Easterners pushed him to war. When it started, some of them started to sabotage him from day one, trying to kill him.  cry

I still see such characters here on Nairaland.
I thought they said he didn't start the war?

British Massacre by proxy!
You are forgetting that America and Britain follow the same foreign policy.
I still maintain the equation would have been balanced if USSR had backed Biafra.
At least all those Migs bombing the markets, hospitals and refugee centres in the east would have been flying over Kano and Sokoto![/quote]Do you want to know the effects of US not being neutral? See Vietnam. This was the Cold war era, no? The USSR wouldn't have accepted anything but a communist Biafra.

Lessons of Biafra:

Dont kill other leaders and spare yours.

Moreover dont start a war without adequate planning.
The real lesson is to take the easy route and ask Europeans to fight a war for you.

Did some people say USSR? Did they not see Vietnam, Korea and Cuba? The US would have no longer been "neutral".

pazienza:
I don't agree with this your test, most times it is always easier to translate these dialects when they are spoken to you and not the written forms.

For example, i find it hard to translate most of the ika agbontae writes but i have never had any problem understanding a spoken ika, just like i cant understand chinenye's written ngwa, but i never had any problem understanding an ngwa man, even as an anambra man hearing the isiala ngwa dialect for the first time.
I agree with you on the test, considering Igbo is tonal, the written test doesn't work as well. It depends on how the writer wants to write the language (although there's already a standard way) and I believe some people write how the want to just because, or they do it to confuse.
