So long as Satan and disobedience to God exist, things like this will happen. But if u make God ur number one, he won't let such happen to u. This does not mean that bad things can't happen to a Christian. God allows it for a reason if it does happen.

Do u prefer countries that see nothing wrong with same sex marriage? Nigeria is not the best though. Because what we have are mainly fake religious people. U need to see how they live outside the church, and even in the church.

Incase u can't read epistle what the OP said is

We wouldn't believe in Christ and all the stories in the Bible because they don't make sense like jesus walking on water, Samson tore the mouth of lion with his bare hands, a small piece of stone killed Goliath, Moses parted the sea with his rod, Elijah flew to heaven etc because we have a fully developed brain and we can tell lies from truth but as a kid we can't, we just digest all the lies as it is and it become a part of us. Take for example

How do we know our parents are our true parents? Because we are told so. Because we grew up with them. Because we grew up to know them as our mama and Dada.... Same thing will happen if we were truly adopted.

My point is, all the Bible is us just a story book filled with stories for kids that why an adult won't believe such stories.

Thank you
.
The gospel sound foolish to those that are perishing. But to those that are being saved, it is a good smelling fragrance. If u misunderstand any portion of the bible, google it and u will get the answer. Don't let ignorance rob your salvation.

A supposed pastor condemned evil and come back to apologise. Then he made this statement:
jI apologise and put it on record that this experience has thought me that words that speak any form of divisive conversation amongst our people MUST be checked. This is a time for unity, love and unwavering support for each other.

This might be a prerequisite for fighting the gospel in Igbo land. Who knows. Jesus said:

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

first I can identify 2 very common pepper diseases already by looking at the pictures, the black coloration on the stem, stalk and leaf margin is classic anthracnose,it also causes fruit to have soft watery spots and spoils easily, the other disease is bacterial leaf spot also easily identified by the yellow spots on the leafs,I have been hit so hard with diseases in vegetables farming that the first mandate in starting any new farm is disease prevention,I don't know the type of seed or variety planted, but all I know is that the farm is doomed, the infection percentage has passed the tipping point and no amount of ordinary fungicides will turn it around, only a special mixture of fungicides and a certain insecticide can salvage the farm, the best defense against problems like this is first good quality seeds, weekly or biweekly application of
special fungicides, aviod entering or touching crops in the morning or when wet.
.
Pls can u list some of the special fungicides u use?
.
I have been hit by the bacteria leaf spot at seedling stage. But with the coming of dry season, it cleared off. If not, it would have been very bad. But I did applied fungicides - mancozeb, hexaconazole, burgundy' mixture and saaf.

sprinkler irrigation is the worst thing for a vegetable farm except maybe ugwu,we tried raingun and hurriedly packed it away, the fastest way to ring dinner bell for foliar disease on cucumbers, pepper, etc is constant wetness of leafs, the best form of irrigation for crops like that is drip or hand watering targeted at the stem, also that seed extraction technique,do you know that 60-70% of pepper disease also infect the fruits and subsequently the seeds,if you extract seeds from a hybrid crop,an old farm that has a 100% chance of been left to diseases that seedling is already doomed before starting, almost all common pepper diseases and viral infections are all found in the seeds from antracnose, bacterial leaf spot to viral mosaic disease(leaf curling),so the best defense against disease starts from the seeds and extracting seeds without proper checks is simply not a good idea, the small advantage in reducing cost will be wiped off by high application of fungicides and subsequent loss to high disease pressure, pls be guided.
.
Thanks for the info. But I have a different view wrt sprinklers. From my experience, if u irrigate in the morning or afternoon, u won't have to worry about foliar diseases. The plants have to be well spaced too. Even without sprinklers, early morning dews sometimes settle on leaves.

When seeds are extracted that way, further treatment will solve all disease problem. One such treatment is the hot water seed treatment for peppers. It requires precise temperature control and timing, so I don't know if many farmers can do it. Another option (I'm not so sure), is soaking the seed in a fungicide solution for some hours. But for me, I just like to hand-extract the seeds and sun dry. But even with this method, further treatment is still recommended.

That reminds me. U once complained about rain gun causing erosion in ur farm. I think I know what caused it. If u still have the raingun, unscrew the mouth and look inside. There is a plastic that is normally inside the outlet pipe and it is responsible for breaking up the water into rainlike droplets. Note, I'm not talking about that arm the slaps the water. if the plastic is not there, u will always have erosion problem.

PEPPER SEEDS EXTRACTION HACK
As soon as mama agreed to lease her ugu farm, I ordered some pepper fruits from a long time farmer friend who has also been in the Pepper production game. This guy spends no dime on hybrid cultivars but has been recycling his seeds from his harvest with consistent high yield and zero crop failure. And this is how I extracted the seeds with zero stress, no pepper burn ( the first batch I did with my neighbor was a horrible experience as we both had our palms on fire for five hours even with our gloves on) and high viability and purity.
1. I poured the whole pepper fruits in a plastic basin or any container and mashed properly/light pounded with an empty vodka bottle without damaging the pepper seeds.
The reason for this is to infect or introduce microbes to the pulp to help us break it down via partial fermentation (as this pulp plays a key role of preventing seed germination inside plant pod) and also help separate seeds from the pepper core( where they are tightly held together)
2. Pour some water ( it should be tepid water, ie, not hot not cold, just normal.) Into the basin, cover it up and keep in a room temperature for between 12 to 24 hours.
This creates good breeding condition for the microbes that breaks down the fruit pulp.
3. After 12 or 24 hours, put on a thick rubber glove, like the one u saw me wear on the pic first mash or squeeze the pepper with your hands ( protected with rubber gloves to avoid pepper burn) and with the aid of a sieve, continuously but gently scoop out the Pepper flesh and skin. Also sieve out any seeds that float because 98% of these floating seeds are not mature and hence ,not viable. But care must be taken not to agitate the seeds that are below as they are the real deal
4. Gently tilt and drain out the water in the basin and boom, the treasure would be staring right in ur. Eyes.
5. Pour clean water to rinse the seeds ,then tilt the basin to drain out the water completely while u use your sieve to collect your seeds.
5 sundry the seeds under the sun till it's properly dried, then go and start your nursery with it
6. If it is for storage, continue to dry under partial shade for some days before storing them.
.
Thanks bro. I have always used my bare hand to extract pepper seeds. I don't even feel the burn on my hands. Except I somehow touch other parts of my body.

fertilize well with manure. Not necessarily too much but apply every week or two. Also spray insecticides like imidacloprid, Abamectin, emmamectin benzoate etc. If they proof too stubborn, spray under the leaves. Overhead irrigation (eg sprinklers) or rain also help in reducing their number. Clear surrounding bush....

House, is it good to use rain gun irrigation sprinkler to water a pepper farm right from transplant to maturity?
.
Yes it is. but try to make ur ridges to have a flat top, not a sloppy one. So that water can soak deep into the soil instead of running off into the furrow. Also, when u side dress with manure, water will not wash them down into the furrow.
.
It is best to allow rain to irrigate ur farm when they have not mature. Pepper start fruiting at 3 months or so. Can u imagine what irrigation will cost u?

SAAF is 12% carbendazim, 60% mancozeb and Zforce is 80% mancozeb. I hope the downy in your farm won't build resistance to the mancozeb. I am planning to use cabrio with saaf
.
Here is an important info I came across. But this one is about Downy mildew.

Once it starts, protectant fungicides like mancozeb and captan will not control it. Phosphorus acid in combination with metalaxyl will control it if you start spraying before it starts or 3-4 days after it starts.

Strobilurin is good even when the disease is becoming severe but beware of resistance development (that is, the downy mildew microbes can eventually learn how to survive it). To prevent this, rotate Strobilurin with other fungicides like metalaxyl (combine with mancozeb) hexaconazole (combine with mancozeb) etc.

Metalaxyl combined with Mefonoxam ( Rodomil Gold M2) and Rodomil copper are also effective.

I am a farmer in Port Harcourt Rivers State and I have got my own share of experience both good and bad, smooth and rough when it comes to nursery and raising seedlings.
I thought of opening a new thread to share it with fellow farmers but on the other hand, I decided to share it here because I feel it's also a way of giving back to this little community that also contributed to my success in one way or the other in terms of perfecting my skills in raising pepper seedlings. So instead of creating multiple thread, I will prefer to pour all my knowledge here giving you guys weekly updates with photos so that if any body stumbles upon this thread, he/she would find it to be an encyclopedia of hot pepper farming from vast and different contributors and first hand field experience. Not e Farmers. I wish everyone of us also follows suit. Rather than reading through the thread and going our different ways with the knowledge we got, or even running to open a new thread, let's give back, let's make this one concentrated, refined and very rich.
B4 I open my own personal thread, I have promised myself to give back to this thread dat contributed to my success. And I won't give crap, I will make it detailed, rich and well laid out. And for those of you still learning, I will make out time out of my tight schedule to consult u via zoom video call or Watts app FOR FREE to help new or intending farmers catch up quickly.
I will start writing by tomorrow. I know it's gonna be tasking, but I will do it anyway. So get ready for a new ride on hot pepper.
