In order of production

Super Habanero F1 - the fruits are as big or slightly bigger than Avenir ( I have not tasted it yet so i cant tell how hot it is ).

Piquante red is not fruiting yet, we transplanted that late.

We did not prune any of the peppers. Super Habanero F1 and Avenir F1 are very busy, Efia is less busy.

There were some moralities of healthy plants. They just dried off. I chatted @okoroemeka, who was very helpful in recommending a copper based fungicide. I used this along side making some changes in the farm.
We increased the irrigation period from 3 hours to 6 hours, based on the intensity of the sun. The plants were healthy and the mortality stopped.
Some weeks later we noticed another one and after investigating it shows signs of Nematode, so we applied Velum (a nameticide).

All has been good since then.
I have not been to the farm in 2weeks + now cos of this lagos lockdown. I only monitor remotely.

Try and prune out all those leaves that are close to the ground. It will aid air circulation and prevents fungi diseases. Rainy season is coming.

How much did you bought the velum? And how many liter/gram is it.

Hmmm, yesterday we cut the first mouth, as the country be now, we only cut from three plot, sales was terrible, but we still manage to sell some, returned with few because market was already empty. we stayed in the market from morning till night oo which on normal day we should not spend more than 3 hours, we have to cut it smaller piece selling from #100 up, ugu that on normal day that should be between #500 to #700 was sold #200 to #3000.

Not advisable because they are from the same family. Which means that they share a lot of pests and diseases 2gether. There are root diseases that can badly affect ur plant and treating the soil may be very costly for you. So best option is to divide ur farm and rotate different crops in each section.

4 to 10 acres hmmm, that is a huge project. Hope you have market for that because in rainy season there is always glut. I learnt by April, may the price of seed can go as high as #10 to #12k. Ugu is doing very fine though this harsh weather really dealt with it upon we water every fortnight.

u mean u water every 2 wks? That's too infrequent now. Evry 3-4 days would be OK. The little I planted is watered evry 2 days and they look very dark and fresh - just as if it is in the rainy season.

Is mybb built on WordPress? There are lots of successful forums that uses mybb - forums that are even more popular than NL. One of the best forum s/w is Xenforo and it cost about N58k. Why would someone choose NL-like forum over xenforo? My advice to interested people is this: Don't spend ur cash on forum s/w bc it will never make ur forum popular. Rather, spend it on promotion.

Maybe the soil did not get hot enof bc they did not use enof dry grass. If the heat did not penetrate deep enof, the unheated parts will soon reinfect the heated parts

Ok. But the nursery bed shud be specially treated by piling up dry grass on it and burning. U don't want to nurse plants for weeks and later find out that they have root knot nematodes or so.

@op, did u treat the soil b4 sowing? .

@ Okoroemeka. I hope u know about biogas. That slurry from it is very rich in soluble nutrients because anaerobic fermentation can extract lots of nutrients from manure. If u expose it to air for 1 or 2 weeks you can use it safely. It will give much better result than manure soak.

I have discovered that making things simpler tends to work very well,we have an old canoe paddle we use to turn the manure several times a day to vent off gases and also oxygenate the concoction,and I will bet my pot of fresh egusi soup that it will work better than the oxygen pump with electricity problems,things are best reduced to the simplest factor for efficient production.

it has already worked,two cardinal rules are fine filteration and we also double the filter on the fertigation hose,and also flushing the whole system with fresh water so the ocm will not dry and clog up the emitters,we have already used it 5 times and no problem yet,the multi k is #19,000 naira for 25 kg bag.this is the type we are using.we are now planning to move the ocm fertigation to the next level,we will use 2000 ltr tank with 20 bags of chicken manure soaked for everyday ocm fertigation now the crops are fruiting.

Apart from multi K, do they have other nutrients?

There is one precaution I'll like u to note. When u soak manure in water, it can go anaerobic if enof oxygen can not dissolve into the water. And when this happens, anaerobic microbes will grow and produce chemicals that are toxic to plants. Soaking small quantity of manure will not cause this problem because oxygen can easily diffuse into the solution. But with something as big as 2000L? That's a different story. I got this info while reading about compost teas. So I think u may need a kind of air pump that is powerful enof to oxygenate the solution.
