my brother when rain reduces or stops from October/November there is no type of pesticide that can rid an eggplant farm from fruitborer (oti) invasions,there mode of operations is simple they will just land on a developing fruit bore a tiny hole inside and lay egg and then fly off, all your crops will be healthy greenish and full of fruit,but if you harvest 70% of the fruits will have maggot like larvae inside,we have tried every thing possible believe me,but rainfall is the only check for those pestz.

I'll try it and see what happens. Using insecticides like chlorfenapyr, emamectin benzoate and imidacloprid may work. Which insecticides did u guys tried?

I don't think the solution to this will be lockdown. Everybody shud wear mask and every bizness, transport services etc shud have sanitizers for customers.

like the farm above will start production by April month end and it will continue till rainy season will stop by October end,then inevitably due to no more rain fall fruit borer attacks will increase in such a way that it will be impractical to spray insecticides,best thing is to give up and step aside and prepare for next season,but there some farmers that have ways to keep on harvesting during the dry season,how they manage to keep insects at Bay is a mystery.

Thanks. I strongly believe that all stubborn pests and diseases can be effectively controlled by spraying under the leaves.

As for duckweed, I once found it growing in somebody's waterlogged backyard. I took some and planted in a basin bc I have no pond to plant it. It did very well for many months until disease gradually kill them. This was probably due to negligence on my part. I shared the posts here:

Multiple reasons which may not be limited to these conditions :

1. You're not eating enough food portion that someone your BMI level should be eating. It's fitting to say you're malnourished but don't know it.


2. You may be eating quantity and not quality hence your body is reacting from not getting enough nutrients triggering the Condition known as low blood pressure

Turn off your devices and stop sleeping 10.30/11.30pm, start to sleep two hours earlier and watch the difference



7. Get supplementary nutrients like Iron, Immune system boosters.


8.Some medications like drugs taken for asthma related conditions can induce such conditions. If your condition is drug related, look out for any drug you take before you experience shakiness in your hands and discuss with your doctor for professional advice ( preferably replacing the drug )

Thank God u guys survive it. But in case of next time, if u fall sick go for lab test. U may try out small treatment and if it doesn't work, go for for lab test.

I planted a test quarter plot, which are 6 months older than the main project.
The leaves below automatically shed off, i was hoping same will apply to these.
But ill prune the leaves as recommended. Thanks.

With time, lower leaves shade off but pruning them off is gud, especially if there is high humidity or if plant size restrict free air circulation. It can also save u some pesticides.

Another thing I noticed about pepper is this: those branches that are below the main Y-branch are weak. If u don't prune them off they will likely break when heavy with fruits, when there is strong wind or when u carelessly brush pass them.

Many sinners have been psyched by pastors into believing that they are born agains when they're not. Ladies dress half naked to church and pastors won't preach against it. In order of production

Super Habanero F1 - the fruits are as big or slightly bigger than Avenir ( I have not tasted it yet so i cant tell how hot it is ).

Piquante red is not fruiting yet, we transplanted that late.

We did not prune any of the peppers. Super Habanero F1 and Avenir F1 are very busy, Efia is less busy.

There were some moralities of healthy plants. They just dried off. I chatted @okoroemeka, who was very helpful in recommending a copper based fungicide. I used this along side making some changes in the farm.
We increased the irrigation period from 3 hours to 6 hours, based on the intensity of the sun. The plants were healthy and the mortality stopped.
Some weeks later we noticed another one and after investigating it shows signs of Nematode, so we applied Velum (a nameticide).

All has been good since then.
I have not been to the farm in 2weeks + now cos of this lagos lockdown. I only monitor remotely.

Try and prune out all those leaves that are close to the ground. It will aid air circulation and prevents fungi diseases. Rainy season is coming.

How much did you bought the velum? And how many liter/gram is it.

Hmmm, yesterday we cut the first mouth, as the country be now, we only cut from three plot, sales was terrible, but we still manage to sell some, returned with few because market was already empty. we stayed in the market from morning till night oo which on normal day we should not spend more than 3 hours, we have to cut it smaller piece selling from #100 up, ugu that on normal day that should be between #500 to #700 was sold #200 to #3000.

Not advisable because they are from the same family. Which means that they share a lot of pests and diseases 2gether. There are root diseases that can badly affect ur plant and treating the soil may be very costly for you. So best option is to divide ur farm and rotate different crops in each section.

4 to 10 acres hmmm, that is a huge project. Hope you have market for that because in rainy season there is always glut. I learnt by April, may the price of seed can go as high as #10 to #12k. Ugu is doing very fine though this harsh weather really dealt with it upon we water every fortnight.

u mean u water every 2 wks? That's too infrequent now. Evry 3-4 days would be OK. The little I planted is watered evry 2 days and they look very dark and fresh - just as if it is in the rainy season.

Is mybb built on WordPress? There are lots of successful forums that uses mybb - forums that are even more popular than NL. One of the best forum s/w is Xenforo and it cost about N58k. Why would someone choose NL-like forum over xenforo? My advice to interested people is this: Don't spend ur cash on forum s/w bc it will never make ur forum popular. Rather, spend it on promotion.

Maybe the soil did not get hot enof bc they did not use enof dry grass. If the heat did not penetrate deep enof, the unheated parts will soon reinfect the heated parts

Ok. But the nursery bed shud be specially treated by piling up dry grass on it and burning. U don't want to nurse plants for weeks and later find out that they have root knot nematodes or so.

@op, did u treat the soil b4 sowing? .
