speedfreak: Good morning Op, I drove from Lagos to Abuja on Friday and the Jos the next day. A few pointers though, 1. Leave early, 5am if possible, there’s some construction at Obajana so the re route would take you an hour or two if it rains. 2. Omuo roads are terrible so give and take another hour added to ETA. 3. Have your wipers, headlights and defogger checked, it’s pretty difficult to drive late while it’s raining if any of these aren’t working properly. 4. Enjoy the trip, your first leg(Abuja to lokoja) is very good, make up for the time you’d lose on that road, Godspeed brother, please keep us updated. Please recommend route for me as I intend embarking on the same trip ASAP

Enyinne: I hv used a Panasonic fridge for 7yrs with no rust imported from Canada but wasn't chilling well . I hv seen people talk about thermocool cooling and i felt i should give it a try as i need a fridge and freezer that retains upto 2days or 3days as claimed by thermocool users . Panasonic is not efficient enough on electricity as i hv used their ac unit for long a time and now am thinking of switching . Price wise , Panasonic is quite expensive but durable. I just feel like given other electronics brands a trial to hv a feel of what they're made off . Did you attempt repairs?? Low gas? Leaking gas? If you want efficiency get the inverter line. I understand, my options are NR-BC752VS and NR-BC572VS. I think I am going for the former not the latter. |

Enyinne: Abeg where i go buy original thermocool. I am buying Panasonic made in Malaysia costs between 380 and 480, but I want peace of mind. There is a thread on nairaland complaining about thermocool freezer https://www.nairaland.com/7046442/bitter-experience-haier-thermocool-freezer/1#113315974I have been using Panasonic blender for over 10 years no single repair. I just bought a new latest model. I have been using their iron since the beginning of time. I used a Thermocool freezer since 2007 and I have had to replace the compressor twice and recoil it once, but the bottom is rusted. Quality is more expensive but will last longer |

i have learnt that it makes far more sense to buy laptops used [best option manufacturer refurb/open box, next option used grade a or b] . buying a brand new laptop esp in nigeria is buying a brand new yaris vs a used camry or even highlander. but i have met people who look at me like are you ok? when i say buy a used laptop - people who CLEARLY do not have as much disposable income as i have My position too |

GloriousGbola: Why not order from the bcode? Online store for the skechers /Adidas stores
I warn you though their Adidas are very expensive.
Theres a tip but I am sure you can figure it out.
Also pay attention. The Adidas as sold in UK sizes which are larger than American sizes. Once I bought my daughter a pair of trainers that had to go to her mother
Most importantly you are sure you are actually buying new and original trainers.
Skechers shoes are incredibly rugged, but sometimes people sell expired stock that has been inexpertly glued together or outright fakes, so you can see the same shoe in the boutique for 10k and on the street for 5k or less.
Bad for flossing. And can be mildly embarrassing. Thanks, I like the guy, I just wanna do something for him. Strangers have done it for me, wanted to pay it forward. But your position is not being contested. |

samir101ng: I strongly support this point by Oga Niyi.
Though, it might be a bit expensive at the beginning especially with the ongoing transition to Lithium, a good 12v AGM/Gel/Flooded charger is essential for the general maintenance of your batteries. It's highly recommended (especially buying brand new) for those who are about to install a new inverter and batteries to charge their full before installation. Some batteries come in a low state of charge and a good charge by the 12v charger to the batteries specs and allowing it to float for 24hrs before connecting is a good practice that will save you anguish in the future.

NiyiOmoIyunade: Thank you for keeping an open mind boss.
The only sure way to do battery maintenance is at the unit/indiviidual battery level - a man of your advanced skill level can surely figure out a scheme that works.
Even if you have multiple 48v banks in parallel - just 4pcs of 12v chargers will do the work - anyone who has mastered the physics of battery interconnect will see that there is a 12v parallel line between some sets of batteries in a bank whether setup as 24v or 48v or more in series.
Of course the working assumption in all my examples is that you have 12v standalone batteries to make up the battery bank. Just to keep the example simple
What I tell people with small systems is to do 12v lead acid - it is simple, stable and the batteries last amazingly long even for average quality or already used batteries.
24v for moderate sized banks and this keeps your risks of capacity drift and efforts to ensure a true full charge to a minimum - although 48v nominal is simpler from the point of view of efficiency, wiring costs and maxing out solar production at lowest costs, you sacrifice a lot in battery stability and longevity unless you got very well matched batteries or you have a scheme to keep them well matched.
Series connections are the bane of all battery systems! The more you have batteries in series, the higher the risks of imbalance that will reduce available energy and shorten service life. Did you study Electronics? Thanks for this epistle! |

NiyiOmoIyunade: Eweeeeeeee
In one move you just put so many marketers and resellers out of business.
But alas, you targeted the premium/good value products that require some level of skill or expertise to work with and the people who support those products generally offer services above and beyond just sales.
If you will keep this post up then you should also target the budget/low cost segment more focused on mass market sales and tend to offer poor services and expose the product sources and contacts to balance the scales - that way you can also put those folks out of business/on their toes.
You should consider that middleman profits (people's livelihoods) are made by/with information asymmetry and it is quite a thing to take that away if you have no skin in the game. Expensive mistakes may also be made when an unqualified person is given access to product sources but lacks proper system design, component selection and system installation/implementation skills.
My thoughts on the matter. Those resellers should upskill, there is more money in skills and services than in pushing products only. I am a living example. In short, they get certified by all brands that they wish to represent, so the client can consider them a trusted ally, and use that as a unique selling point. Finally, someone who understands why I did not do what I had the power to do in one fell swoop. I may be well situated today, but I wasn't always that way. |
