Kimiso: You secured a job to a company where you have to submit your phone everyday according to their policy there, how much do you think the monthly pay will be for you to be able to consider working in such a company
It's not about money, it's their policy. It's either you comply or bow out. Respect is an asset, value it. You cannot be a rebel and still give your best
Assigned: I need your advice please 🙏🙏🙏 long post but please bear with me
So I currently live in a "boys quarter" apartment where I share toilet with about 13 other neighbors living in the face me face you plus the rest of the BQ tenants.
The good side of the house The house is just about 2 minutes from the main road (trek able) so I don't spend anything on TFare when I'm going to the bus stop. The area also has about 23hrs of power supply which is very rare to find in some other places in Lagos.
All of which are important because I work hybrid and electricity and transportation are major expenses for anyone in Lagos .
The bad side of the house I share bathroom and toilet with about 13 other neighbors living in the face me face you plus the rest of the BQ tenants and the toilet is at the far extreme of the house. I pay someone each time it's my turn to clean the toilet and sweep.
I also share prepaid meter with everybody (about 15 plus shops) which causes issues whenever we need to buy units and all. The house has a rule of always switching off the light during the day and putting it on at night by 8pm which means if I have to use light during the day, I either buy additional unit (which the whole house will use because I can't use it alone - no personal switch) or turn on my generator. No water in the compound so I have to pay someone to help me with fetching water or I carry bucket The neighbors are one of the most bitter people I've ever seen, but the landlord doesn't stay with us I pay about 7,500 monthly on electricity based on this arrangement.
The situation
I plan on renting a room self contain (budget 300k max) around the area but I couldn't find any, other places are either too far, not enough power supply, shared prepaid meter, or even sub par apartment for high price.
So as an alternative, I'm thinking about liaising with the landlord to renovate my apartment, get a personal prepaid meter and also channel water from around the neighborhood. The budget which shouldn't exceed 200k.
Considering all of this, what should I do?
You will lose at the end if your landlord upgrade your apartment. You won't be able to afford his new rent. Take your time till you see house that has the basic amenities and affordable
ikorodureporta: Despite the jappa tide flowing allover, there are some people who don't have jappa in their agenda even though they are not doing well... Some reasons may include weather, culture, food, caring for loved ones here, lack of strict laws here, etc. They've decided to remain in their "comfort zone"...
Are you one of dem
You didn't include the most important reason, FUND
The exchange rate makes japa almost impossible for the common man
Missowombo: Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour. I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.
I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.
You are at fault. You can't win the case anywhere. Agreement is agreement , you can't shift a goal post in the middle of a match.

The late Access Bank CEO who died in a helicopter crash had started the Wigwe University project before his demise. It will be recalled that he recently completed his ₦5 billion mansion in Ikoyi, where he hosted billionaires Femi Otedola and Alike Dangote.
From stolen public funds...it's a pity, the end of the project has come
Justinlean02: Lie... Once heard a guy in South Korea asking why other African men can't date Nigerian women since we Nigerian men can date any . The guy simply answered, it's very wrong for you to date a Nigerian girl in Nigeria, it's totally suicidal to date her in abroad.
