ozo13:Why is Air Nigeria still at stage 2 of AOC process at May 29 2023? |
Off your mic honourable! Looks like Hadi Sirika will struggle to get out this sh*t. |
MamaletASO:I have absolutely NOTHING to learn from you. |
Gbaja Looking increasingly like let the poor breath so I can suffocate them myself. In two weeks of his presidency, all President Tinubu policies have impacted negatively on the disposable income of Nigerians: fuel subsidy removal without palliatives, increase in electricity tariffs, imposition of VAT on imported diesel when refineries not working is the fault of government, and increase in the cost higher education. All these are coming in quick succession to create funds for government, which is not bad. Even doctors allow patients healing time in between surgeries. However, NOW, we desperately need something on the 'credit' side of the family 'balance sheet'. It is time for Tinubu to roll out his policies towards revitalizing the economy, creating employment opportunities, and boosting entrepreneurship. It's time to remember the people. We need something on the credit side. We are SUFFOCATING! |
Not sure how Nuhu Ribadu will function effectively as NSA given the many ongoing military operations in the country as he was not a military man but police officer. Would the rank-conscious and superiority-minded Generals at Defense Headquarters interface freely and smoothly with him? Time will tell. But no doubt a bold call if eventually made. In fairness, Alhaji Ismaila Gwarzo a retired Nigerian high ranking security and intelligence official and who was also a police officer was once NSA but under late Gen Abacha, a military president. |

There is no doubt that Sen. Hadi Sirika, an experienced aviator, used Air Nigeria to corruptly enrich himself and perhaps others. To operate an airline in Nigeria, you need to: 1. Set up the operational structures, which involves setting up head office, flight operation dept., engineering dept., ground operation dept. and aviation security dept. All these depts will be headed by an experienced professional and supported by staff who are expected to develop vital manuals and prove knowledge of their contents. Being a FG-supported project, poaching staff from other airlines to fill these depts wouldn't be hard. 2. Make arrangements to lease or buy at least three airplanes to be used for operation. 3. Secure Airline Operator's Certificate (AOC). Given the resources available as a government airline, I am sure it will take less than 6 months to secure this from NCAA as the process involved is basically proving that the airline is ready to operate. To do this, NCAA counterpart depts will be sent to audit the readiness of the airline's depts to function effectively to ensure SAFE operation. The financial capacity to support operation is also established at this point. 4. The airline shows its airplanes to NCAA and prove that no CHECK is due on any of them. 5. The airline to conducts test flight with the leased or bought airplanes on designated routes under supervision of NCAA. 6. NCAA issues AOC and the airline operation starts. It is clear from above that if Hadi Sirika was sincere, this process would have been completed in less than 1 year. So, what held Air Nigeria captive from becoming a reality for 7 years can only be CORRUPTION. Hadi Sirika is a huge disappointment. |
Running a commercial bank is different from running a central bank. Central Bank is pivotal to any country's monetary policies. Therefore, it needs more than a regular banker who rose up to management position doing routine things as duties in a commercial bank. It needs a badass versatile Economist with proven qualifications and experience. It needs a solid technocratic with palpable intellect who would think out ideas to guide the president in surmounting national economic challenges. CBN Governor should never be a job for political supporters and it should involve competitive headhunting process that is blind to ethnic or religious affiliations. In addition, any CBN governor who lobbies for second term should be sacked because if the president values him or her, lobbying will be unnecessary. A man or woman who has professional accomplishments and integrity to protect will not be easily used and dumped by politicians like a CONDOM. |
Wetin concern Emefiele with Taliban? It was Buhari who donated money to Afghanistan Taliban government. https://tribuneonlineng.com/buharis-1-million-gift-to-afghanistan/ https://punchng.com/fgs-1m-donation-to-afghanistan-reckless-southern-middle-belt-youths/ https://thewhistler.ng/islamic-organisation-lauds-buharis-1-million-donation-to-afghanistan/ |
Everybody crawling out to demand a bunch of flowers for being pioneers. Keke and D1 smiling and shaking their heads. |
Yes, Burna Boy is an African giant but he needs to be told that he has no monopoly of haughtiness and brashness especially in viewing less successful Nigerian artistes. He should be able to take a bit of what he serves others. Nonsense! |
In Presidential system of government, Vice Presidents and Deputy Governors are SPARE TYRES. This is the reality. Another reality is that no matter how fraternal a governor was with his deputy before election, the fraternity is steadily weakened and eventually killed by the people around the governor. The deputy governor is eventually alienated. if he fights back, he will face manipulated impeachment proceedings. The reason is very simple: the deputy governor being the only person that will constitutionally and automatically replace the governor in event of death, the people around governor would do everything to protect the governor who is their main source of income for 4 years and if possible 8 years. The stake is too high to sleep on the bicycle! ![]() |
Gbaja the bridge! |
I have a feeling that Pres. Tinubu will accept this apology and bring him and Oyetola together for his 2nd term. Tinubu needs Osun. |
![]() In fairness, the photographer should have pointed it out. I guess he is still star-struck as a greenhorn. Will do better after overcoming initial 'stage fright'. |
Once upon a time, Niger Delta bowler hat was the currency in corridors of power in Abuja. Then, came a time you need to have a hand-crafted tall Hausa cap or get turbaned somewhere in the North to gain political weight in the corridors of power. Now, it is time for Yoruba fila - the bent cap - in the corridors of power. If you are still in doubt, check out the picture of two Niger Delta heavyweights James Ibori and Nyesom Wike during recent visit to Pres. Tinubu below. One day, one day, Igbo red cap will beautify corridors of power in Abuja. For now, it is Yoruba time. So, let Ifa speak as loud as it's voice can carry.

The problem isn't removing the fuel subsidy but the way and manner it was done. The sudden and surprise announcement was done without regards to the fact that businesses and individuals need to plan and adjust. The question is, what is wrong with giving advance information on commencement date to enable businesses make adequate plans?Recall that former Pres Buhari said subsidy removal will commence on 1st July but Tinubu came with surprise on May 29, taking individuals and corporations by surprise. This doesn't inspire confidence in business. Nigerian leaders should do better. |

President Tinubu needs to change his current posture while receiving people. Yes, he is of small frame but he could make himself bigger to enhance his presidential presence by his changing his seating posture and the way he often clasps his hands. I hope his chief protocol officer will be bold enough to tell him what to do. |
Good development. However, what I found worrying is that even after saying he would remove PMS subsidy if elected, President Tinubu doesn't seem to have any specific action plans to match up the guaranteed effects of removal of the subsidy. It's like he came prepared to remove subsidy but unprepared for resultant effects. Looks like he had no already-made manifesto answers for NLC and TUC except what those labour organizations demanded. This doesn't inspire confidence. He should do better. |
Anyiamaka:That's not, certainly, the summary of my post. Your summary is already in your head before you read my post. |
Femi Gbajabiamila will make a good Chief of Staff to President Tinubu. He has requisite political experience to interface smoothly with Tinubu's ministers, politicians, foreign visitors, etc. and intellectual ability to process memos, proposals as well as serve as 'sparring partner' for President Tinubu to bounce off ideas. Although he adores Tinubu as a godfather, he doesn't worship him. He is bold in giving feedback to Tinubu. An example is when Tinubu deliberately skipped Osinbajo at APC presidential primary venue after greeting the Buhari, Aisha and APC chairman. Gbajabiamila there and then, in full public glare, called Tinubu's attention and he went back to greet Osinbajo. Besides, Gbajabiamila is presently the closest acolyte to Tinubu and he is privy to his 'true' state of health and state of mind. He has proven that he can protect Tinubu's secrets. Also, he has a good relationship with Remi Tinubu. |
Ok |
Obi-dients, una do this one? My Governor no mind them. By the way, what would anybody gain from bouncing Gov. Soludo at Tinubu's inauguration? |
ok |
Congrats VP Shettima and wishing you a good tenure as a spare tyre. ![]() |
I mean, he could have given advanced instructions to his aides to put a new seat in place before showing up. The truth is that new governors change the seats used by their predecessors. Even civil servants do that always after promotion. No big deal. So, too much unnecessary dramatic pettiness. May be a red flag. |
