Given that Trump's MAGA group, like the Obi-dients, do this same troll thing against Biden and her back at home, Kamala Harris is most likely remain unmoved. |
Godwin Emefiele trusted mortals in power and forgot that power is, in fact, ephemeral. He trusted human beings and forgot that humans are fickle and non-dependable. He trusted Buhari as president. He visited him at short notice at the Villa and in Daura. They did hi five and posed for pictures smiling like twins. Emefiele wouldn't mind stepping on people's back to make Buhari happy. But, the same Buhari whom he loved to impress didn't seem to stand up for him when 'the shylock' came calling for a pound of his flesh. Emefiele kowtowed before Northern oligarchs as though his life depended on that. Yes, they made sure his job was secured but he served them like a slave. The same oligarchs took cover in protection of their interests when the hawk came for the chick. Worthy of note is that Emefiele refused to wise up when Buhari didn't stop DSS from attempting to arrest him when he was the president. That was a red flag he refused to see. Perhaps he was too power-intoxicated or may be he was simply trapped in the corridors of power. Used and abandoned like a piece of trash at a lonely crossroad, surrounded by 'hyenas' warming up to devour him like a piece of cake and with the people treating him like a smelly leper, Godwin Emefiele had no choice look upwards rather than around for succour. In seeking reprieve from the Court he once disobeyed, he had no option than to put his trust in the one who doesn't disappoint or fail. The awareness of his own name GOD WIN came back to him. Like a prodigal son, he went back God who is most merciful. Interestingly, God evaluates the abundance of the heart and can never be deceived. Lesson: Trust in fellow human being with your head but trust in God with your heart. |
shinealight:Ok, if you say so. |
shinealight:Every economic decision has consequences including opportunities and threats embedded therein. Through painstaking analysis and scenario creations, policy makers anticipate short-term and long-term consequences and this is what Tinubu's team didn't seem to have done before removal of subsidies. |
Take whatever a politician says with a pinch of salt. And make it iodized salt for good health. ![]() |
Hadi Sirika should appear before a National Assembly committee for a public hearing on the failed Air Nigeria project. I trust neither DSS nor EFCC on this issue. The Koko here is the public hearing. Also think about it, public hearing about change of Naira color involving Emefiele would have been more revealing to the members of the public than this DSS chamber interrogation. |
Why is ministerial lists in Nigeria always look largely ordinary and non-inspiring? I know that people who work during elections would be compensated and the president reserves the right to choose his team but why must it be the same old politicians instead of their nominees with proven qualifications, experience and professional accomplishments. Just like Buhari's ministers, take a look at this Tinubu's ministerial list and except for a very few, you won't sense much of likelihood of visionary sparks, revolutionary ideas and passion to go extra mile except waiting on presidential initiatives and maintaining/building political structure at home-front. The list communicates a scary feeling of "business as usual" than that of transformative policies, disruptive moves and even revolutionary ideas. But the next four years will tell. We need to change this current selection system if Nigeria will ever fly high again. |
NFF please pay them and stop being dumb. And please give Rasheedat Ajibade double allowance and a bunch of rose flowers for solidly holding the formation of Super Falcons together and inspiring attacks in the difficult first half before Asisat Oshoala came on and stole headlines. Rashy baby, strong African woman I stan you. |
Natural to support your dad but look Seyi, so far, there is little evidence to show that President Tinubu is the one that will change Nigeria. The truth is that the damage, which President Tinubu's tax BURDEN and sudden removal of vital subsidies has done to the disposable income of Nigerians will take a long time to be undone. Middle class has been knocked down the ladder. Nigerians are suffocating under the poverty canopy. Strangely, apart from taxes imposed and subsidies removed to free up money for his government's use, President Tinubu, so far, has done nothing in terms of program to improve the real growth of the economy. Nothing! Meanwhile, while subsidies for common man are removed, the humongous rogue pension package for Tinubu and other greedy ex-governors remain UNREMOVED. |
Rubbish list. |

Show of shame! |
Yes, Davido is known for his large-heartedness but I have a nagging feeling that it was his money the lady found and returned. I mean this singular act is a bit mysterious especially the extravagant amount he 'donated' to the said Ngozi Blessing for being a good Nigerian. |

In America, leaders have vision and practical problem-solving ideas and they face consequences for any proven act of maladministration. In Nigeria, the opposite is the case. Therefore, copying American constitution is not the problem. The problems are basically that our leaders lack sense of big-picture vision, lack of creative ideas to solve problems, and they have the tendency to loot knowing there won't be consequences. |
ceejay80s:If you knew how Tinubu's divide and rule planted tribal sentiments that crippled that initially scheduled NLC warning strike by painting it as SE agenda and which has today rendered NLC impotent, you will understand that Revolution won't happen in Nigeria. |
It is scary that President Tinubu who had always insisted that he would remove fuel subsidy from his first day in office, had ZERO plan to contain the effects of such removal. And his only reaction is to fall back to Buhari's MYSTERIOUS money transfer to the poor and vulnerable. This doesn't inspire much confidence. |

Yes, Toyin Adesina is a carbon copy of her father Femi Adesina but I will NEVER judge her by her father's work. I will only judge her by her accomplishments as a young Nigerian. Believe me, Toyin seems to have her head properly screwed to her shoulders. I am impressed by her bold entrepreneurial drive done at the expense of her father using his position in government to secure her job in one high-paying government agency. May her ventures succeed and grow to create badly needed jobs for other young people. People who will fall over each other to lick Seyi Tinubu's shoes are shamelessly dragging a young budding Nigerian entrepreneur for being Femi Adesina's daughter. Compared to the damages people like Tinubu, Akpabio, Yari, Ganduje, Wike, etc done to Nigeria, Femi Adesina is a SAINT. The only problem is that in Nigeria everything done by our favourite big men are ignored or stupidly defended while we go after our fellow 'small men'. |

Prof. Soludo my Governor, I understand your sense of 'ebe onye bi ka ona awachi' but for the sake of academic freedom, allow her use the scholarship to study in any university of her choice in Nigeria. |

ufotunang:Of course I agree with you here though some parents arrange WAEC miracle centers for their children as well as manipulate documents to facilitate travel overseas. ![]() |
I agree that Nigerians have flawed ethnic and religious empathy baggage that, unfortunately, tend to interfere with their sense of reasoning and judgement. However, Mmesoma Ejikeme's innocent look, prior academic records and cry-of-wolf misled many of her fellow Anambra people to come to her defence in line with the spirit of 'onuru ube nwanne agbana oso'. The truth is that, in private, heads are already bowed in regret, bitter lessons have been learnt and humble pie eaten but ndi Anambra are a proud people who will never succumb to pressure to accept to sob loudly in public over an act of indiscretion one of their daughters. One certain, Anambra State remains light of the nation as shown by the State Government by setting a committee and swiftly releasing the report to the public to conclusively, professionally and ethically deal with malpractice. Anambra bu enyi! By the way, Professor Oloyede has done wonderful job at JAMB and I am a fan. |
