In two weeks of his presidency, all President Tinubu policies have impacted devastatingly on the disposable income of Nigerians: fuel subsidy removal without palliatives, increase in electricity tariffs, imposition of VAT on imported diesel when refineries not working is the fault of government, and increase in the cost higher education. All these are coming in quick succession to create more funds for government function effectively, which is not bad . However, NOW, we desperately need something on the 'credit' side of the family 'balance sheet'. It is time for Tinubu to roll out his policies towards cushioning the immediate effects of these policies, reviving the refineries, revitalizing the economy, creating job opportunities, and boosting entrepreneurship/SMEs, etc. Things that make many more millions of people to earn income to meet needs created by the reforms as well as pay tax. It's time to remember the people. We need something on the credit side. We are SUFFOCATING! Looking increasingly like let the poor breath so I can suffocate them myself. ![]() |
Mind you, tuition fee never enter ooo! |

Looks like VP Shettima is the acting President for a couple of days. ![]() Good to see his poker face for a change. Go Shetti, go Shetti! ![]() |
Buhari too dey fear. He made us believe that floating Naira will bring Nigeria on its knees. Of course, there will be consequences for flotation, which we hope will be managed by Tinubu and his team. Meanwhile, the same Buhari connived with his 'friend and brother' Emefiele to make many disastrous economic decisions. |
Dangote always presents Bill Gates to each president. There must be something. |

Time for the newly appointed Special assistants to earn first estacode. Life's good. ![]() |
The Street and ghetto recognized one of their own who is truly everything the street and ghetto represent. Congrats Portable! The first of many to come. Just keep working hard. |
ChybuzzDD:Next time, read with comprehension and don't rush to comment. My take is that having impacted negatively on the disposable income of Nigerians with his recent policies, President Tinubu should now unveil his plan to revive the economy to impact positively on Nigerians' ability to earn to meet the demands of his policies. I advised in doing that, he should encourage the state governments to complement his policies at State levels for multiplier effects. Go and read again. I tried to say this without being unnecessarily critical of his policies. |
I agree. Reason why President Tinubu, having removed fuel subsidy, concluded plan to introduce tuition in Fed institutions and floated Naira, should NOW unveil his plan to stimulate the economy from agriculture, fishery, SMEs, entertainment, sports, etc. Also, plan to incentivize industrialization and entrepreneurship. It is about time. My advice is that whatever Pres. Tinubu is doing, he should use his goodwill to involve state governors for multiplier effects in states across Nigeria. Unlike most of Buhari's programs that were only FG-driven with little impact. |
May be they just realized that their visa is dependent on the scholarship offer. Stupid dancing boys. |
Story, story ... Obasanjo is always the angel and others demons. ![]() This is something every adult Nigerian at the time witnessed and detested. Many legislators on PDP platform didn't return to NASS as a result of stopping Obasanjo and his foot soldiers. Obasanjo denied them ticket for killing his selfish ambition. |
TemplarLandry:There is nothing wrong with kitchen cabinet provided they will be a think tank rather than a power-struggle cabal. |
Empty write-up. Just a summary of President Tinubu's last week activities which we all witnessed. Zero critical analysis of decisions and actions. Not good. Look, constructive criticisms of government policies give needed feedback and strengthen the quality of leadership. |
It is a constant truth that military officers are involved in oil theft in Niger Delta. Asari Dokubo didn't say anything new. As the Commander-in-Chief President Tinubu should have set DSS on some massive undercover operations to unveil the culprits. Allowing Asari Dokubo a head of an illegal armed group that military had decimated years ago to blackmail the same military in order to stage a comeback with 'his boys' is a dangerous game to play. |

Yes, we all know for long that military officers are involved in oil bunkering in Niger Delta. President Tinubu knew about oil theft in Niger Delta before his election and one expected him to have had a plan to counter that. Therefore, giving a State House platform to Asari Dokubo to publicly accuse Nigerian military of oil theft in order to make a case for lucrative security contract for himself and 'his boys' is risky move and a dangerous game. President Tinubu should be guided. |
Being in the same group with host country Australia and OG Canada makes one doubt if this will end well but you never know with women and again you never with football. I just hope Asisat Oshoala, for once, would step up and 'carry' this team like a generational talent and superstar she is. Meanwhile, I trust my favourite player Rasheedat Ajibade to, as usual, display African physicality and deliver. Omo dada! Wishing them good luck and successful tournament. |
Still a long way to go but President Tinubu has shown early positive signs and articles like this one will rekindle the waned foreign investors interest in Nigeria. |
ambu2:You are overthinking. You are over-labouring the word "manufacture". I even advised against overthinking in my comment. ![]() |
The great woman who manufactured the person who is today called President Bola Tinubu. Rest in peace mama! NB: Please don't overthink it. |
Ok |
Remove this, remove that! If you turn Pres. Tinubu into a dictator through your emotional display, don't turn an activist when he comes near your interest. |
Jagaban of Borgu hosts the Emir of Borgu. Network built over the years. |
Tinubu has pending cases of wanton corruption with EFCC. Senate President has pending cases of monumental corruption with EFCC. But the EFCC chairman who tried to investigate them before they become head of executive and head of legislature is in now custody with DSS. I don't know, meeeen! |

First, it is important to state that the student loan scheme is a ploy to introduce tuition to Federal Universities and further make it inaccessible. Second, without fixing the economy to create employment opportunities, this Student loans scheme will end like subsidy on petroleum. With Federal Universities tuition going up, Northerners and Southerners will COMPETE in enrolling both qualified and unqualified candidates in the use of the loan as a way to benefit from national cake. Eventually, millions of unemployed and unemployable graduates will be unable to repay the loan. Ultimately, the World Bank and IMF will 'advise' FG to stop the loan scheme because trillions of Naira remain unrecovered. NB - We don't have to copy and paste other countries programs. Let us develop home-grown ideas to meet our needs. |
President Tinubu's statement rhymes with the complaints of both past and current Chief Justice of Nigeria about inexplicable and often rogue court orders being given buy judges that suggest "cash and carry" undertone. However the truth is that most Nigerian politicians including Tinubu himself would when in a tight legal situation would desperately or mischievously brief a lawyer to secure a court order at all cost for some reprieve. |

So, no doubt, some reforms are necessary in our judiciary. |
Impressive bio and strong testimonial from Gbajabiamila. Just hope he won't be pushed up and down like yo-yo by his main sponsors Nasir El rufai and Femi Gbajabiamila because most times some egg-heads who love operating silently in the background don't make excellent leaders. Any way time will tell. Congratulations Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and do have a fruitful tenure. |
