emamalee: Please am in need of serious advice on an exceptionally rare brand of automobile, Shangai englon sc718. I am totally a novice in this area, and am about to take a very important decision in purchasing a nigerian used one which looks very tempting. All urgent responses would be highly appreciated!!! Thanks...That chinese car that looks strange with sharp edges everywhere ![]() Abeg get another car. I dislike it based on its looks & it doesnt look reliable to me at all. It looks like a Geely or Lifan car & those cars are rubbish. If you must go chinese at all, go for Greatwall. The Florid or the Voleex c330 will do just fine, are solidly built, beautiful & i can vouch for the Florid's reliability to an extent. What's your budget? You could get more suggestions based on that. |
I still cant believe this car has not sold! This is a steal!!!!! Luvly ride. |
Is this beauty equipped with a factory fitted AC & is it working? |
Baba God, please provide money for me o!!!!! Is this a 5 speed or 6 speed manual? *drooling all over thread* |
femmy2010: I still have this feeling that a Buhari led government would bring Nigeriaexactly!! You see, there is a popular misconception & that is the notion that these present crop of ministers and heads of agencies cannot perform! I BELIEVE MOST OF THEM CAN PERFORM & KEEP THEIR FINGERS OUT OF THE PUBLIC PURSE IF A COMPETENT & INCORRUPTIBLE OGA AT THE TOP IS THERE TO KEEP THEM IN CHECK. We need someone who will set fire on their a.s.s.es. A leader who will be threatening both publicly and provately to fire his ministers and appointees. A leader who will show both publicly and privately that he just cannot stand corruption. If we have such, i assure you that even the most useless person in government today will perform wonders. The public purse will be left alone once it is obvious that even oga at the top is not stealing & will da,n well cut off any hand (not literally o.lol) trying to grab some dough. Those who say our problem in this country is leadership are not lying. The reason why corruption has been rampant is that even our leaders also steal & those who steal are not brought to book! Simple!!! Most Nigerians and even humans (some may say Africans) generally are indisciplined. We always seem to need someone to push us to work. Peeps may not understand what i'm saying till they work/intern/serve in a govt agency & a leadership change occurs midcycle, & it turns out that its a no nonsense boss that is replacing a lackadaisical 'do whatever you like', 'gentle', 'no wahala' boss. I tell you even you working there will be surprised at the efficiency oozing out of that place. You'll be shocked that tasks which took days to finish up and concluded within hours. You'll be surprised how punctual all civil servants can be. E.t.c. Tafa Balogun's period as IGP is also an example. I dare say in the last 14 years, the police force was most efficient during his time. Just that unfortunately, the action man fell prey to the seductive arms of corruption. Just get a good oga at the top there who is perfectly capable and willing to set fire to people's a.s.se.s and watch Nigeria develop at a such a pace, you'll be shocked. That is what the PDP has been scared of since 2003 coz they perfectly know very well that a Buhari presidency will spell doom for the looters (past and present). The past may be forgivem, but its certain that scape goats will be made of the present. |
booqee: and what exactly is ur point mister.?? Why should the issue of bashing even come out from ur mouth?? Is dat what the op is asking?? Abeg pls park well well abeg. muslims sha! What is ''muslims sha''?? He is simply trying to point out respectfully that even when many xtian threads make the front page, you will hardly ever find any muslim complaining, not to talk of throwing insults on such threads. But if JUST ONE muslim thread makes homepage EVEN on a FRIDAY, you see xtians complaining, asking if this is an islamic forum, asking why islam is bein shoved down their throat, then several insults will follow on the Prophet & Allah. The threads are there. Go and see for yourself and take statistics if you wish. Yet, the general 'consensus' is that muslims are intolerant & insultive. Yeahright!!!! @Topic, not a xtian, but I dont think any real christian needs the Bible to tell him/her that kissing / hugging someone who is not your wife/husband (& who you can marry) is a sin. May God forgive us. What is worse than commiting a sin is proudly defending it or looking for a way to justify it or present it as d right thing. |
Ogojohn: When you see anything v 6. Run my brother as far as your leg can carry you.To be fore warned is to be fore armed. Not only does it strip you of your hard earned money because of ignorant mechanics. It equally teaches you a lessen at the fuel pump.rubbish |
Billyonaire: After total destruction of the North by self, we shall divorce them and let them re-build with proceeds from sales of cattle. I need not disturb myself.- The North has no money (apparently, the south has the money). - The North doesnt want to secede from Nigeria(even all the boko versions havnt given that as a condition) - The bomb blasts (especially in Kano & in recent times) have targeted NO TRIBE OR RELIGIOUS SECT IN PARTICULAR but they have resulted in massive loss of lives n properties = further impoverishment & underdevelopment of the north. Pray Tell, DOES IT MAKE ANY SENSE THAT THESE BOMB BLASTS ARE REALLY ORCHESTRATED BY THE CORE NORTH ![]() FORGET THE ''ALLAHU AKBAR'' CHANTS (IF ANY), DOESNT THIS LOOK LIKE SOME GROUP OF PEOPLE ARE BENT ON SENDING THE NORTH BACK TO THE STONE AGE?? I think the NORTH is actually THE VICTIM here. Where do you see people incessantly bombing their own country or region & killing themselves ![]() ? Especially when they've shown that they have the skill and sophistication (abokis ) to throw these bombs elsewhere (or is any part of the country particularly safe??) Is the average northerner happy with the bombings?? Bill, i know GEJ can do no wrong in your eyes, but let us reason abeg. |
chucky234: You got problem understanding written text?I think you are the who may have a problem reading & understanding written text. The IG wishes to remind NigeriansUnless you don't know your rights, no policeman can stop you if your car has a factory tint (which is usually not totally black & most times on the rear windows only). ALL Toyota Sienna vans from the 1st gen (98-2003 upwards) till date have factory tinted rear windows. Same for certain trim levels of SUVs & some other minivans & even saloon cars too. I guess those people should throw their cars away right? ![]() Tint permits (even when they were issued & if still issued) are not needed for factory tint windows. |
*double post* |
Now this is also an avenue for fraudsters to make money in the name of helping you to obtain a tint permit. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. ACCORDING TO A RELEASE A FEW YEARS AGO,(i think a copy is somewhere on nairaland), THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE NO LONGER ISSUES TINT PERMITS. IF YOUR WINDOWS (usually rear) ARE FACTORY TINTED, THEN YOU ARE GOOD TO GO. IF THEY ARE NOT, REMOVE THEM. SIMPLES. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE.... ![]() |
The japanese really deny us good Toyotas o! the interior stying a la the centre console, is really cool....plus the digital AC controls. A nice set of black alloy wheels on this baby and you r good to go. that said, OP, reduce your price jor. For those who don't know, this is a sort of Toyota Corolla hatchback. |
delirius: An aunt needs a 02-05 Volkswagen passat wagon for urgent purchase..tokunboh preferably. send response to llkolwol@Yahoo. com/ 08186419203.Your search has ended, believe me. 2002 VW Passat B5.5 (Facelift) wagon is available sir. chaircover: Please we are all learning everyday . . me included.Airbags are supposed to be serviced (checked for defects & possibly replaced) after 10 yrs or so from the date d car was manufactured. In many cars older than 10 years, *including the one i drive often currently*, the airbag light is usually on but we ignore it. Now, ideally, it shouldn't be ignored, but i''m yet to see a car service centre here in Nigeria that checks/services airbags! The airbag light on means that your airbags need checking meaning that they may / may not be defective. That said, i doubt if an expired airbag will even deploy at all, as an expired airbag implies (i think) that among other things, the sensors that are supposed to trigger the airbag deployment are likely dead. Also note that while some 15 year old cars may have defective/expired airbags which may manifest when an accident occurs, some 20 year old cars have their airbags still in good condition, even tho the airbag light may / may not be on. Its better to be safe than sorry sha. People should always try to read their car manuals (at least most/all of what is wriiten in the general maintenance section) not wait until a fault develops before doing so. If anyone has successfully had his airbag & sensors checked for faults & fixed/ repaired here in naija, please let us know where. The service airbag light should however not be confused with the light that comes on/off/blinks when the passenger airbag is turned off/on. That's different. Consult your car manuals & google for further info on the state of the airbags in your car. I stand corrected. |

ItsModella: I used to do soak and travel in boarding school, like expertly.heheheheh.. Ok, about food. - tasty time to soak gari due to absence of water or/and sugar. - soaking indomie in cold water till it becomes soft after which it is consumed with 'sard' or 'geish' - Addding garri to 'kpaks' which is cabin biscuit broken into pieces & taken with milk (if available). - using bucket to 'soak' (soak means eat, be it gari or flakes or gmorn) - Going to cashew bush during cashew season (2nd term) when 'owu' is 'blowing' boys, competing amongst each other for the biggest haul (which seniors may/may not forcefully collect later). plucking mango from staff quarters (out of bounds to students. - Girls never played with saturday morning yam. twas their fav food. however, they used to play a lot with beans. So all men go massacre their tables mehn- 1 pot(meant for about 12 people..tiny servings tho) per person .- Adding Milo and bournvita to everything! - eating raw garri with sugar while going about looking for water such that by the time you find water, the whole thing in the bowl is gone. - Saw a senior (now a successful Architect) doing this - he crumpled a nylon of indomie to break the noodles to pieces before opening it, then he opened it, removed the spice, added it to the crumpled indomie, mixed it together, then settled down and commenced his crunchy meal. - boiling ring (using illegal connection) to boil rice, indomie, spaghetti e.t.c. I can stil remember how those stuff used to look like & i can't beieve i partook in those crazy mmeals! IJ for life. |
Rooneyboy: Right on point man.Heaven on earth ke? Abeg what year did you attend? My 6 years at ijanikin wasnt exactly hell, but it sure wasn't heaven...SS3 as cool tho ![]() |
1) Do not put a child below 12 in the front seat. If the child is a bit tall & for any reason at all, (maybe there's a fire-breathing dragon at the back seat or smthn), then make sure the seat belt is used and the passenger airbag is turned off. Most modern cars have that feature.....usually visible on the side of the dashboard when you open the passenger side door (a key hole where u insert the key..). There are also rules for using child seats in the front seats which of course includes turning off the airbag too. Read your damn car manuals and pay attention to the warnings and signs in your car. However, if an adult is in the front seat, please turn the airbag on! The dashboard will alert you if the airbag is on or off. 2) All adults in front as well MUST always use seat belts. Most cars even those manufactured 20 years ago without airbags have something called seat belt pretensioners . What they do is simply that in the event of a crash, your seatbelt tightens immediately to keep you in place and prevent you from leaning forward too much. In such a scenario, even when the airbag is deployed, your face will be far away from the initial force of deployment -which is apparently what killed this beautiful girl and what has killed some adults too. 3) If in this age and time, you are giving birth to 4 kids (like i hope to ), employed a nanny as well and you are all going out, then you had better be able to afford a 7 seater SUV or a minivan for outings. That's the reason those kind of cars were manufactured.4)[s] Buy a tokunbo 2007 Kia Rio from US (comes with four airbags standard) before you buy a brand new 2012 Kia Rio(comes with ZERO or one airbag) sold at Dana if you are particular about safety and you love your life. [/s] May the girl RIP and may God grant her family the fortitude to bear the loss. SAFETY FIRST. |
As in this ride is just too lovely. Just check out the steering wheel with its buttons & the nav screen on the dash. Leather too! Very ideal for someone who would like something different from the plenty Matrix decorating everywhere. Also good for someone who may require a 7 seater & decides not to go for the relatively larger and very common bigger engined Sienna or the ugly Toyota Picnic. This should be powered by a 1.6 or 1.8 litre i4 petrol engine or a 2.0 d-4 diesel Awesome ride. I hope its a petrol engine & not a diesel though diesel is more economical but slower i believe. When I have money, depending on how much, jbrodaly abeg i go send you make you help me find 1st generation Lexus IS200 for that side or 1st generation Toyota Avensis. Without derailing thread, care to give an estimate of how much each of those cars will land in Nigeria today plus clearing? ![]() |
maclatunji: Has he strengthened our borders to prevent terrorists from crossing into the country with dangerous weapons? No.The defenders of an incompetent leader should come and answer these questions. I also have more to add but I can't type much now coz of time. The sooner we stop making excuses for GEJ & make him realise his PRIMaRy duty is to ensure security of the lives and properties of ALL Nigerians WHEREVER they are, the quicker we'll solve this problem. Lemme add this question though: WITH ALL THESE BOMBINGS AND ALMOST TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF THE NORTH'S ECONOMY AND SECURITY, WHO STANDS TO GAIN MORE?? Is it the 'northern oligarchs' whose kids dare not step into the north & who themselves cannot walk about freely? & who are continually pained while their kinsmen keep suffering destruction?? OR Is it the muslims in general who continually have to keep stomaching barrage of insults that follow each attack & keep pointing out that islam doesnt stand for violence, or the muslim men in the north who keep hiding from JTF operatives who randomly arrest and sometimes execute innocent muslim northern men (& even women and children) in the name of fighting 'ghosts'?? OR Is it a southern president who rode on sentiments(i had no shoes, i am very meek looking, i am different from PDP) to get to where he is today? & who going by his dismal /absolute lack of performance in MOST (if not all) critical sectors, is counting on sentiments (the north want to frustrate him out of office, the born to rule mentality is at work, he is distracted with fighting bokoharam so he cant do anythn else) to return him in 2015? & who also need justification for allocating 25percent of the budget (a trillion bucks) to security ?? NB: we are yet to see any millitary planes or fighter aircraft bought with that money. All i've been seeing are several luxury peugeot 508s in millitary colour & the service chiefs adding weight. I dare GEJ to give account of the monies budgeted for security as against what has been spent already. This is a man who took 150 million naira out of poverty alleviation fund in his state to to host Beyonce the musician. We saw the documents on the web. Nobody has come to say it was not true. I wonder what such a man will be doing with the money budgeted for defence especially as his body language has not shown any seriousness towards fighting the sect. Let us reason & refuse to be deceived. WHO stands to gain more out of these groups of people?? Igbo, xtians, northerners and muslims in general are not your enemies. The same way you have enemies even in your own village is the same way you have enemies among other tribes. Let us come together and direct our queries and questions and anger to OGA AT THE TOP! |
OkparaIgbo: This is my last response to you on this matter as I'm in no mood for the uselesss back and forth argument. If it was easy then America with it's military might would have crushed the terrorists in Iraq with a far less population than Nigeria not to mention in a region where the people are sympathising with these cowarddic killers and won't divulge any useful intelligence. I am still praying to Chukwu to provide just 20 young Igbo men who are ready to put their lives on the line and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..No need arguing on the capacity of the federal government to quell the unrest in the north. So what the Nigerian millitary with a billion dolllars have failed to do, you are looking for "20 igbo men" to achieve? interesting. you still havnt explained to me what your modus operandi is. I'm sure the 20 igbo men would love to know ![]() Goodnight tho, & Goodluck. ![]() |
OkparaIgbo: I don't demand the slaying of the Hausa's in the east because they are too little and don't count for much but I demand a total liberation from you and your brothers who derive joy in killing my Innocent brothers and sisters and We will only met out violence if we are challenged in that quest and I keep asking Chukwu to provide me with just only 20 young Igbo youths who are determined to die fighting for what they believe in and we will never have to face this horror and loss of lives from you cowardds called hausa'sDude, we ALL need to fight, together, but we need to fight the right people, not with sticks and stones, but with words and action. ENOUGH IS ENOGH. & btw, I'm not hausa. Let that stick in. |
OkparaIgbo: Rest in peace to all the departed but Dude I am fuccking raging at the Hausa's who have from time to time raged war on my people. I don't blame the government one bit afterall America with all its might can't stop the suicide bombers who are already ready and prepared to die and are only looking for numbers who will join them. Let me tell you that there was nothing the GEJ or His government could have done to stop your fuccking cow headed brothers who braced themselves with explosives from killing innocent people today. Terrorism in itself cannot be stopped unless there is a cleansing of the people involvedDude, a LOT can be done. Stop making excuses for incompetence and inefficiency. & for every hausa who has "waged war" on your people, i guarantee you'll find other hausas who have helped them out of difficulties as well. EVERY tribe has its fair share of idi.o.ts and diamonds. That much should be obvious to any reasonable fellow out there. |
OkparaIgbo: SHUT THE FUCCKK UP FOOL..OK, So you think these terrorists give a damn if you kill all the hausa population in the south? & besides, by doing that, what differentiates you from a terrorist? Let the igbo young men rise up but let them rise up to demand answers and explanations and results from the right sources. We are all human beings fool, never forget that. |
deandavid: quit ur mouth there, is it today, they started killing igbo people, if it isnt religious mixed with little politics why dnt dy go straight to their central mosque and bomb or market. Why a motor park and a lux bus going down south. If this is how the much waited revolution will start, then let it begin now. Enough is enough. So who exactly are you angry at now? the hausas who were also affected by today's blast, as in the case of previous ones? or the government who we voted in to provide security for us against lunatics like these bombers? not forgetting that over a billion bucks was appropriated for this purpose. |
Freewilly: @ find out! it's your mother you insulting, you lucky I like this user name and don't want to get banned I would have given you a taste of your medicine this afternoon. Anyways I won't waste my time on an Aboki your father in washing my dirty cloths you here talking rubbish.Lol. I don't have wahala. I usually ignore your ilk but sometimes, you need to be put straight. All the adjectives i used to qualify you are quite apt...except maybe wretched. The rest are not insults, they are facts judging by your posts here. Get some sense & learn to reason properly before typing inciting and downright senseless comments. |
Freewilly: It's not rocket science, 95% of the people in the buses that was bombed are Igbos going to Lagos to do business. Let's not fool ourselves here pal.You are the one fooling yourself & you are doing a great job at it. So it is only southerners that come to Lagos to do business from Kano? i guess 95% of those who were around the scene are also southerners as well. & please do not call me pal. A matter of such seriousness and all you can do is add an ethnic coloration to it and call for more violence. Go ahead and kill the aboki closest to you as if that would solve the problem. continue fighting with yourselves while the originators of the problem and those who should be solvin g it are up there in their jets laughing at you, with their kids safely holed away outside the country. |
Freewilly: You know I was just thinking the same thing too, I glanced through the 9 pages of comments on this thread and I'm sorry most of it is trash. I want to know about what our Igbo Youth in Onitsha are still waiting for, don't we have abokis in the East? time for turning the other cheek has passed a long time ago, if they kill our people in the north, we should reciprocate.Nobody has monopoly over violence, this nonsense has to stop.I hardly throw insults on nairaland, but I'm sure it would'nt be an insult if i called you a wretched wicked absolutely apparently irredeemably stu.p.id selfish narrowminded thing. So the people killed today are all southerners right? Your common sense has told you that a MOTOR PARK in KANO will be populated more by southerners than northerners right? Berra get your head out of your a.s.s. |
kettykin: one dimwit poster was saying it has nothing to do with religion when in fact Boko Haram had bombed out 50 out of 52 catholic churches in Maiduguri& some mo.r.o.nic posters are saying that this bombing has to do with a particular tribe or religion as if the luxurious buses and the parks were loaded with christians going on convention hence their being targetted. Nonsense. AGAIN, I repeat, we must all come together to defeat these terrorists and since we elected a man who rides in multiple private jets and several bullet proof exotic cars, we need to call him to treat this issue with more wisdom and seriousness. Is it too much for us to ask for security ? |
Mavor: Terrorists that were created by Northern Elites to undermine a Southern president but have now gotten out of control from these Northern oligarch's hands? Get real Nig*aSo, since when did the so called northern oligarchs begin to represent the common hausa muslim man on the streeet riding okada or operating a maisahayi joint struggling to have enough money to feed his family? Or you want to tell me this blast just like the okada park one last year targetted a particular tribe or religion? You are the one who needs to get real dude. |
eledalo: This is not a GEj Buhari issue. If only the bigots will listen |
