HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYYY repping NL since 2008.....officially in 2009 ![]() My number 1 site any day any time! Congrats Seun. |
Jarus: It's not everybody that writes in newspapers that is a reporter. There is what is called public commentary, which everybody - whether accountant or geologist - can engage in.Didnt see this comment earlier. Bros, abeg, continue to be a ''reporter'' o ![]() Hope I didnt divulge too much info in my earlier post tho I believe most old faces on NL are already aware of what I posted. Ride on boss! |
You think we don't have reporters on NL? Jarus is a reporter, just saying. And who do you think Eko Ile/ Onlytruth/ GenBuhari/peterobi etc works for?
LWKMD. If Jarus is a ''reporter'', then honestly, a large number of nairalanders will want to be ''reporters'' like Jarus when they realise the kind of ''media outfits'' Jarus has ''reported'' and is still ''reporting'' for. ![]() Since when did 1st class Economics graduates from OAU begin to work as reporters Dude isn't a reporter o, tho he has been writing articles & letters which have been consistently published in Newspapers for at least 6 -7 yrs now. I knew Jarus' name (his real name that is ) long before I knew nairaland & have always been a fan of most of his writings. The correspondence he has with SLS & other notable Nigerians is something any Nigerian can also have, if you have the intellect & the courage to seek that privilege. |

baron2000: House, pls how do I know if my accord tint is factory? Pls help make I no go argue wit npf come guilty. Na dat one go worse pass.First of all, i doubt if ANY accord comes with factory tint except if it was specially ordered with the car or dealer installed. If at all, then it would be a light tint on the REAR WINDOWS ONLY. What year is your accord? & please tell us if its EX, LX or EX V6. Roll down the window a little bit & look at the top edge of the glass. If its factory tint, then there shouldn't be any film of tint that will start just below the edge, as in the entire glass up to the tip/edge at the top should be the same colour. Now there are some after market tints (part of 'pimping' sometimes) that are apparently (to me) not removable. You'll clearly see the film of tint beginning just below the top edge of the glass after a tiny section of clear transparent glass. But you won't be able to peel or scratch off the tint. I think in such a scenario (as i suspect your's might be), the best thing to do is to just tell the police that it is factory fitted & that if they doubt, they should try to remove it.lol. Just my opinion o, i stand corrected. |
hopeyemmy: Though my master's will come much later after NYSC, but if I may ask, what range is "moderate to high 2:1"?Lets just say within the range of 3.5 - 3.9. Very high 2:1 from 4.0 to 4.49. The classification is purely mine o, but also note that diff schools have their different requirements, and the US GPA scale is different from ours. theirs is 4.0 & converting your GPA on our 5.0 scale to theirs is not as simple as just cross multiplying. |
When you think of it as a waste, then it indeed becomes a waste. When you reflect on those 11 months deeply, no doubt you'll pick up one or two things that would have added some positives to your life. you may not realise it now, but years later, you just might have cause to be thankful to God for going through the NYSC year at the place and time you did it. |
Congrats to her. That baby is what you call a BIG BOUNCING baby boy. |
Unknown Member: You sound like somebody with tribal marks on his brains!Dude, you are still showcasing your ignorance further. FYI, bombs went off while the APC chieftains WERE STILL IN TOWN. Try to listen to the news. Now, GEJ came to town and the bombs went off 5 hours later as if it was an afterthought like "let them not say we didnt throw bombs when our Oga GEJ came to town". The report says they were co-ordinated blasts = like a '7-bomb salute' to GEJ.lol |
bukatyne: I Claim?Bukatyne, the God we muslims worship created the heavens and the Earth, Adam, Eve, Abraham, Isaac, Noah, Jacob, Jesus Christ, David, Solomon, Prophet Muhammad, Jonah, Job (Peace be upon them all) e.t.c. The God we muslims also worship has asked us to serve Him, not ascribe any partners or equals to Him, believe in His Oneness, power and supremacy, and obey His commandments because a day will come when we will be made to account for our actions. If our God is "100 percent different" from yours, i hereby respectfully ask you, Are you an idol/ "Man of God"/ son of man worshipper?? Sincere apologies if this question offends you, but please answer. I'm curious .I'm a Muslim, and i have copies of the Qur'an (thats our Holy Book containing all mankind needs to know to be successful here on earth and in the hereafter) in Arabic & English, so all i said above describing the God muslims serve have their basis in that Qur'an. |
nony30: I would like τ̲̅ȍ have Ikenna of car talk section come over and service my car,my friends cars. slap him around a bit for hiding my post and banning me for posting my opel 1970 classic in the post ur recent car thread which he started and then for him τ̲̅ȍ show me how his 1970 model 505 can out speed a 2000 model 406.Though I know he's just suffering from hallucinations, but I would ®ε̲αƪƪƔ like τ̲̅ȍ reset his brain mechanism with a few jabs.Lol. Dude, you never tire for this matter I advise you not to race Ikenna's 505 (not that he'll agree to anyway.lol) coz your 406 will be disgraced. A sound 2.8l V6 505 like Ikenna's will forget your 2.2l i4 406 on the road. In less than a minute, I forsee a 50 - 80 metre gap. Best believe it dude. Your i4 engine is naturally aspirated & not turbocharged for crying out loud.Sorry for derailing, back to topic. |
HQ: To think I was already sending a threat to my ISP. Thought I was the only one.Lol. Had to restart my connection 3 times before common sense told me to try opening other sites which i did successfully. |
hehehe...Can see NL blackout affected the flow of gist. oya refresh your pages & continue o. oh, you already did ![]() |
lagerwhenindoubt: It is not a veiled threat. it is the voice of a per-meditated violent attack on a society that allows Religion (the various cacophonous voices of various Gods) to Rule over Constitution (The Voice of the People). Anyone who does not recognize this line of reasoning COHI and MSSN are towing is simply ignoring the elephant in the room& you've made sense in your mind o. Did you even read the words of the MSSN spokesperson at all?? & i've posted the link earlier to the full text of the press conference on the MSSN website. You may want to go through that as well before displaying your islam hatred here. |
CFCfan: Yeah, he is invitedGuy, hmm.... Thou shalt not lie o ![]() @Post, Can't want to spend a weekend with just one guy & lately, I've not been keeping tabs on intelligent & pretty female members. However: 1) An 'edutainment' + relaxation weekend/session with the following members in attendance - Seun himself, Jarus, Coogar, Sagamite, Ogugua88, Yuzedo & 190(we'll need the humor of the last 2 especially to make the session more lively). I expect to come out of that weekend feeling fuller upstairs in the brain compartment. 2) A weekend with Ogugua88 (yeah, separate rooms, no problem ) WITHOUT any other moderator, fair or dark, in attendance Anyone of the others mentioned above is/are welcome to visit (visit o, not stay ). We shall discuss a lot of issues from US matters to an AS knowingly marrying a fellow AS...in NIGERIA to what the heck she sees in Flavour whatever's music. Lol. I expect to disagree with her on some issues but also agree with her on others. I also forsee the likelihood of not only satisfying my brain, but also satisfying my tummy as well, judging by all those food wey she dey post sometimes ![]() Out of respect to one NLer i consider quite arrogant but intelligent, I won't 3) Auto discussion/training session with Siena, Ikenna, Trac & Somorin in attendance: We shall spend that weekend in Siena's garage & my 80 leaves notebook must be full of notes and diagrams & also quite oily by the end of that weekend. Would have taken an e-device but sometimes, nothing does it like pen on paper. lol |
AbuHanifa: "he group warned that reneging on the agreements may result to the disruption of the relative peace being enjoyed in the state at the moment." What is wrong with you?I know you are the OP & unless it was you who put the title there(not of the thread but the article/report itself), i no get quarrel with you. Now, where exactly did the group ''warn''?? Who made the ''warning'' statement?? I've gone thru the entire press release on the MSSN WEBSITE(i've posted the link on this thread) & I couldn't find any statement that sounds like a warning to disrupt peace. |
jude33084: Let us ask MaclantunjiLol. I amended the post you quoted when i observed the article was gotten from the MSSN facebook page...though I suspect the MSSN in turn got it from a newspaper. Still checking tho. But you have to agree with me that the title of the article does not tally with the contents bro. A full text of the press conference by the MSSN can be found here & I am yet to see any warning or threats to the LASG contained therein. www.mssnlagos.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=249%3Apress-conference-addressed-by-the-assistant-general-secretary-mssn-lagos-state-area-unit-mallam-sulaiman-dhikrillah-under-the-aegis-of-council-of-higher-institutions-cohi-an-arm-of-the-unit-on-tues&catid=1%3Alatest-news |
AbuHanifa: Press Release:Sorry I had to quote the entire article, but I think attention should be paid to the bolded. Then can anyone quote an excerpt of the statements credited to the COHI/MSSN spokesperson where the LASG was ''warned'' or ''threatened'' ? Thanks. The person who appended a title to the original piece whether muslim or xtian appears to be a ''product of a failed educational system'' (c) - Sagamite ![]() |
OH MY GOD!!!! Is this what journalism has been reduced to ![]() Where in the statements quoted by the COHI spokesman did he ''warn'' the state Government that reneging on the agreements ''may result to disruption of the relative peace'' Edit: Apparently, since it was gotten from the MSSN facebook page, the writer of this article might be a muslim. If so, that person needs to use his/her brain properly next time when writing /titling an article. Rubbish title. |
WHY is the AGF requesting for records of a fiat to prosecute Bode George from the DPP's office at this time?? WHY didnt the DPP notify the court that convicted Bode George back then during trial that Bode George wasnt supposed to be prosecuted? Was the then DPP sleeping or was the Office on vacation?? Or perhaps they were not aware of the trial?? Could this really be a grand design to present Bode George as a 'clean' man who was 'wrongly' prosecuted thereby justifying his high status in the ''corruption-fighting'' President's party?? They dare not. However, I wont be surprised if we see more 'revelations' /'discoveries' proving many other things about top PDP members soon which may include that the current NPA Chairman may have been 'wrongly' accused of embezzling billions of naira in road contracts. Afterall, EFCC today can say that neither GEJ nor his wife was ever investigated for corruption while they were at Government House Yenagoa :\ Time will tell though. Funny country, this is. |
Hi Guys, I have the latest editions 2012/2013 of these books. If you are considering studying in the US at undergrad or graduate level? Then you may need to take at least one of these exams. SAT: For undergraduate studies. GRE: For graduate studies in almost all fields except business and finance related courses. TOEFL: Required from international students, though some schools may waive this requirement especially if you've shown proficiency in the English Language via your English/verbal & essay scores in the other standardized exams. Akshow: The attack in the village of Monguno, some 200 kilometers (125 miles) from the city of Maiduguri, punctuated the video statement by Abubakar Shekau that said Nigeria will remain under attack by the group until the multiethnic nation is ruled under Islamic law. Shekau also threatened the man who in recent months claimed to be a leader of Boko Haram and said that the group wanted to agree to a cease-fire with Nigeria’s security forces.@ 1st and 2nd bolded, even the most hardline muslim in Nigeria knows it is not realistically possible that the entire Nigerian state be under islamic law. these guys are just out to make trouble and cause chaos. They attacked a barracks which is most likely peopled by soldiers of northern extraction majority of whom are muslims. We all need to collectively keep the government on its toes to stop these people. They have the budget, they have the manpower, we need action to stamp these guys out FOR GOOD! @ 3rd bolded, see wetin Washington Post dey talk about a whole Nigeria's millitary.lol |
Comparing Ford Edge & Mazda CX-9 is like comparing Pontiac Vibe & first generation Toyota Matrix or comparing Hyundai Accent & Kia Rio. Both CUVs are similiar in design, powered by the same engine, and I suspect reliability will be almost the same. Whichever one you buy, its not a car that you'll give to a roadside mechanic. As pointed out above, the CX-9 is a 7 seater while the Edge is a 5 seater, and personally, the CX-9 is more beautiful in and out & more suitable for a family. & these cars are generally reliable if you take good care of them & adhere strictly to maintenance schedules, i don't forsee a problem. However, join or at least visit the cars' dedicated forums before and after purchase so you know what you are buying very well already & know what and what not to expect. |
I think Overdrive O/D should be on always. I believe it selects gears quicker, that is your engine won't rev to a very high rpm before selecting the next gear which i believe translates to better fuel economy. & the Toyota Camry 2002 manual I believe has settled the matter. Another question we can also try to answer is when/why should O/D be turned off? In snow? Off road or what conditions? |
