anonimi: Just one example from right here in Africa:

To see other examples check this web site:
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/012-apostasy.htm

Moreover did the Koran not say the following:

I think you should endeavour to read the Koran by yourself to understand the basis of your belief. Xtians were also in bondage in Europe for over 1,000 until printing was invented and the Bible became widely available to the annoyance of the rulers then with the Roman catholic church. Nothing new there.
you and this your plenty 'claims' that the Qur'an supports murder. I'm sure this is not the first time you've brought them up here on NL & i'm sure you've been replied and the so called killer verses have been well explained to you. But you are a typical 'black man' sha, so I forgive your seeming */deliberate* lack of understanding. Go online yourself and read articles explaining those verses.

Enjoy your weekend smiley

Frostyzone: Typical Muslim intolerance.
dederocs: If any of my family member blindly turns to a Muslim,i will deny that person...nothing beautiful or righteous about the religion, just bombs and mobs screaming suicidal chants...
Typical christian intolerance. Not surprising tho, aferall a popular multiple jet flying 'Bishop' has also more or less denied his sister just coz she's a muslim.

livebullet: dont mind d mod....i knw all d insults catholics received here durin d Pope' s honorable resignation....there was no warning as to d@ effect now dis! Abegi....na dream una dey dream,Christainity will take firm root in Mecca b4 islam can "evangelize" even a stray dog on d streets of Rio. I mean who even in his insanity will convert to islam! Disgusting! If u like ban d post....*i hav spoken.Rubbish
& how many of the insults came from muslims?

One needs not go further than nairaland to see which religion's adherents are more intolerant. Go to an average christian thread that hits front page and count the number of insults from muslims there. Repeat the same task on an average muslim thread that hits frontpage. 5 christian threads will hit frontpage & no muslim complains. One muslim thread will hit frontpage and many christians will start saying we are suffocating them & forcing doctrines down their throat! Just have a username that has some semblance to something islamic and the moment you disagree with someone, he fires back by calling you a terrorist first before making his point.

Now, go outside NL, You see christians disturbing your peace and quiet in the bus, or while you are even just taking a walk somewhere in your neighbourhood or estate, preaching, pointing out (upon hearing you are a muslim) that you have a sure holiday in hell if you choose not to accept christ as ur saviour, we bear it in silence. Let a muslim stand up in the same bus to start talking and he is shouted down, labelled a terrorist and a 'bokoharam'. Without talking sef, just keeping a beard or her wearing a hijab is enough to get distasteful glances and nasty side comments thrown his/her way by so-called righteous people!

& Maclatunji has since said that the warning in red about getting banned was not placed by him but by the admin who last tym i checked is not a muslim. But he probably felt a little of the pain muslims feel when they come up on threads like this to see insults flying in all directions from our supposedly christian brothers; insults which they claim is justified largely due to the misguided actions (WHICH MUSLIMS HAVE CONSISTENTLY DISOWNED AND CONDEMNED, WITH SOME PAYING THE ULTIMATE PRICE FOR SPEAKING OUT) of some ragheads and extremists up north. If we muslims really hated you guys, it would have been evident on nairaland. You should be seeing us jumping with glee on every thread that reports maiming of christians but do you see that? NO.

There are the religions, & there are people. Good and bad people. The teachings of both religions generally preach good manners, charity, justice, fairness, tho one more than the other. I know there are some really good christians out there, just as there are some muslims who need to improve their character and religious understanding as well. Trying to see what a religion teaches and what some people are doing (terrorism) in the name of islam is what is responsible for the growth of Islam in the western world. They sought answers, they wanted to know why someone will wake up in the morning, slit some throats or bomb some places and claim it is for his religion. They looked into the Qur'an, studied and analysed the messages therein and realised the beauty of the religion, the knowledge contained in it and the standard of its teachings and that was why most of them accepted Islam. That's just the fact. You either take it or leave it.
Music/RadioRe: Photos: Nigerian Singer Damino Damoche Shot Dead In Lasu This Afternoon by FindOut(m): 8:02pm On Feb 28, 2013
Hmmm.... So LASU is back to the dark days (which will soon end again hopefully coz those paying 250k currently from 200L down will think thrice before joining any cult I'm sure).

May God forgive his sins & grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.

That said, let it be noted that in MOST(if not all) cases, victims of shootings like this are usually cultists as well. But I no go talk wetin I no know sha.

Then I hope nobody will come here and tell me this guy contributed positively to the music industry. The lyrics of that his popular song are arguably the most stuuupiiiiid, senseless, & most x-rated trash ever to be sung by a Nigerian musician in recent times.

I didnt ''speak ill of the dead'', but the song(s) he sang while he was alive remain what it is / they are - TRASH. I remember I used to feel bad then whenever I see a minor singing that popular one.

A lesson to those alive: We can never be perfect and we will not do good all of the time but let us be remembered mostly for GOOD things which will outlive us. Death can come ANYTIME, tho we pray that God grants us long life.

0lumide: Wait, let my girlfriend get your position.. She can milk out 4bn naira from foreign and domestic companies, My girlfriend knows how to make people pay for what she wants for people(Not for her self).

I told my girlfriend about this 4b naira house and the first thing that came to her mind was, Doesn't the Nigerian first lady have a brain?

This is what my girlfriend said: Doesn't the Nigerian first lady have a brain? I think African first ladies are just dumb! If they really want to help the continent, their job should be milking more money from these foreign companies seeking favour in African markets. Take Nigeria for example, the oil companies and many others can pay off that 4bn naira without any problem of corruption charges etc... All she needs to do is get her secretary or whoever to write letters to these companies demanding donations and making the needed amount known. If the money all the companies donated isn't enough, she should demand more until the money for the mission house is complete.

Oh, we had sexx on her Ethioppian tapestry after she said that. I don't think other women beat Nigerian women in terms of psychological sophistication. Patience is just another exception.

Some parts of Oko - are really nice o, the GRA areas there. You may have a point but note that the last kidnap case we heard here (hank God she's been released) happened in "Lekki & its environs"; the woman and her hubby live in Ajah.

May God continue to protect us. Basically, in Lagos now, only few places are what you may consider safe.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Missing Oluwatoyin Akanbi Found Dead by FindOut(m):
May Almighty God grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. Its so sad.

This could very well have been a robbery. Likely Target: His TOYOTA Highlander possibly. & Its possible he was robbed around the Oko-Oba vicinity & then driven to Ifo, maybe the thieves kept him in d car in case of immobilizers & stuffs like that & maybe for whatever reason, they decided to snuff life out of him.

May God continue to protect us everywhere we go, BUT, until the security situation in d country improves, please, if you are the type who leaves home for work very early in the morning or leaves work late, & you know your neighbourhood isn't safe & could be sometimes deserted, think very carefully before buying any recent model TOYOTA especially the Camry, Corolla & the mid size SUVs like the Highlander & Rav4. Even old models (1999, 2000) of the camry are not spared. If you have these cars at home & you have another car (maybe a Mitsubishi or Mazda or VW), I suggest you make that your daily driver.

The love we have for Toyotas is begining to haunt us - thieves snatch Toyotas because its so easy to sell as demand is high. Other car brands too are bein snatched tho, but Toyota & Honda top d list far ahead of the rest.

Also guys, be very careful when buying Nigerian used cars, again, especially Toyotas & Hondas, coz you just might be buying a stolen car & you won't know it till your as.s lands in jail for what you know not about. Make sure you know and can confirm as much history of that vehicle as you can before purchase.

Of course, this may not have been a robbery, but rather a kidnapping or 'score-settling' or beef issue. Just approachin the matter from a possible robbery angle, that's all.

If your check engine light is on, i suggest you scan the car first.

BUT, I used to drive a 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6si & I once had this issue with the car exhibiting the exact symptoms you described. Turned out the Kick Starter was the culprit. Some metal bindings/filaments, smthn like that inside it were burnt. Replaced it & the car stopped having those issues. Check out your kickstarter bruv & please report back to thread to update us.

Lol!!! Those V8 monsters are on a class of their own. Very crazy machines I tell ya. Till date, the fastest car, sorry, vehicle, I've been in is a 2001 Ford F150 SuperCrew 4.6litre V8. The speedo is allegedly supposed to max out at 180, but we were on 170km/hr (I wasnt driving) & the engine was soo quiet at 140km, rpm was low (till the badt guy driver accelerated & I heard a sound similiar to a race car-I'm not kidding- & next thing, speedo was on 170 & still threatenin to go further till Bros eased the throttle) & there we were coasting away on the ultra smooth Eleko - Lekki Free trade zone road. As it was like the engine was saying ''is that all you can offer, abeg, when you are ready to put me to work, lemme kno. Lazy drivers'' grin
Those things dey RUN & you'll be there thinking '' can this big heavy trucks speed?''. Lol

Hoping 2 upgrade to a Toyota Muscle/bluetooh 2008 Camry!
Seriously bro. The acceleration that comes from that car & the EOD, even from the 4 cylinder versions, is wonderful, especially when you are driving the manual tranny. The auto is also quite impressive too. & despite the swiftness, the cars (especially the babyboy) still consume little fuel.

But if I wish to get a car for constant highway driving (even if its our rubbish Lagos Ibadan expressway), mehn, i'm going german straight cheesy I always feel especially wow-ed anytime I drive a friend's V6 Passat manual tranny (1999 model o, not 2013). You won't get up to that thrill even when driving a 2007 V6 Accord. You may get more acceleration (maybe), but the Passat will be a smoother ride.
Car TalkRe: Cars You Wished You Owned While Growing-up by FindOut(m):
Several cars o.lol. No be today wey me & my bro begin dey love cars. I can remember seeing some cars pass by & just wishing they belonged to my parents.

Those that stand out tho:

- Honda Accord 1990 -1993 model (Honda Halla) : Loved this car soooo much but the folks never bought it sad I guess it shouldnt be surprising that I transferred that love to its much advanced look-alike grandson; the 98-2002 Accord (Babyboy). Up until last year, I'll probably still choose a Babyboy over a Honda EOD anyday. Just give me an EX trim with manual transmission, I'm good to go smiley But now, I think I'll prefer the EOD EX with manual tranny

- Toyota Previa : Seriously, the designer of that minivan came from the future. That ride is one beautiful piece of Japanese engineering that came way before its time. Still got 'respect love' for that ride till now, however, 'ownership love' has been transferred to the first generation Sienna. I love that minivan dieee. Again, just hand me the keys to a 2002 XLE Sienna & I'm alright. Acceleration, the V6 'music', external & internal aesthetics, ON POINT!!!

- W124 MBenz V-Boot : How can I not mention this ride? Especially when at some point, a good number of my dad's friends had one (Old man still no buy o.lol). won't mind owning that car ( a clean 6 cylinder) one day even if for a while just to.....well, own & drive it grin

I also could easily be distracted but with a coach and the fact that am paying, I'll be focus and discipline.I really need to brush on my maths. I am using Kaplan and Barrons to prepare at the moment. Let me know any other material or application I can download.Thanks. Still would not mind to have a Tutor even if it is for revision.
Visit this thread to request for e-materials https://www.nairaland.com/994108/general-u.s.a-student-visa-enquiries-part3/246. I have soft copies of Grubers and also Princeton's Cracking the GRE on my system but unfortunately, they are too large to send out. the guys on that thread tho, will send you zipped copies of the materials I have and maybe more.. If you don't get it by tomorrow, I'll search my mailbox for the zipped files and then send to you.

Then visit this link http://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/powerprep2 to download the PowerPrepII software from ETS. Install on your computer and for now, take the diagnostic test. You get to have a feel of what the test looks like exactly.

My strong points are in Verbal, but I equally worked for and achieved a good score of 157 in math, thanks to strategies I learnt, and which the books and probably I as well, can teach you. i sent you a mail yesterday tho, please check and reply (tho i see you've answered some of my questions here). Cheers.

Visit the school tomorrow, look round, then ask questions. I bet you'll change your view as expressed above. The only major downside today is the high tuition charged. That aside, the school is solidly on track. I studied a science course. When I was on IT (between 300L-400L), I was surprised I was way more knowledgeable and exposed in the practical aspect than my colleagues from OAU (yes, The Great Ife) and UNAAB. LASU's Law students are forces to reckon with at the Nigerian Law School, ask any Lawyer. The Medical school and Teaching Hospital are very much on point. & lots of administration & logistics glitches are gradually being adjusted.....that's aside from the constructions currently going on at the main campus.

A lot still needs to be done, but we must concede that from the tenure of Professors Hussein, Olatunji-Bello (acting) and now Obafunwa, the school has indeed really improved.

Sorry abt your loss. Hope you get it back. Is it a sedan, hatchback or wagon? 4 doors or 2 doors?

Then if you do not have the pic of the exact car, search the internet and post a pic of what your car looks like.

Are there any stickers/markings on the windscreen, bumper or body that will make the car easily identifiable at first to second glance?

Lastly, hope you have informed the police; they can be surprisingly efficient sometimes.

Kai, i'm tempted to take this offer o! Lol.

Like log1 said above, you don't really need a personal tutor to get a good score on the GRE especially if

1) You have a good command of english, written and spoken, and your vocabulary level is above average (will need boosting though) at the very least.
2) You do quite well in maths.
3) YOU ARE SMART, CAN EFFECTIVELY APPLY LOGIC & CAN ENGAGE YOURSELF IN CRITICAL THINKING.
4) YOU HAVE ENOUGH TIME AND STUDY MATERIALS AS WELL.

3 and 4 are quite important.

I wrote the GRE in January and had a score of 160/170 in Verbal (english), 157/170 in Quantitative & 4.0 in the essay section, so well, I think I'm almost qualified.lol. & No, i didnt go to ANY study centre & I didnt get a personal tutor. Though, having taken the SAT thrice about 5-6 years ago & scored really well (especially at the last attempt), i'd say I was at a slight advantage.

I assume you know what the new test looks like. Right? So what are your strong points and weak points i.e. areas you are fairly good at and areas where you might need some help? In short, how would you describe yourself going bu 1& 2 above?

Guy, lets cut to the chase. Oya, post the account number i should pay ''customs fees'' or ''delivery fees'' to o. But please make sure its an account you don't operate because

1) Your ATM will surprisingly refuse to work even if you drive to Kaduna to withdraw, so you'll have no choice but to enter a bank.

2) Any branch you enter will tell you there's a slight glitch in ur account so you need to go to the branch you opened the account to rectify the problem.

3) By the time you get to your branch after waiting for things to cool down a bit , I assure you that will be the beginning of your journey to Jail. As that would be the last day you'll be a free man in a long time.

4) When you get to jail, you'll have ample time to reflect on your past and regret why you decided to start scamming people on the internet. Then you'll also come to the realisation that some people are wayyy smarter than you are.

5) This is just one of the ways you can be caught which I've spelled out for you above. It may seem like I've given you ''expo'', but i know that ur greed won't allow you to listen & you'll still go ahead with your scams on here, googletrader, Kaymu, cheki & other sites you ply ur trade.

LET ME ASSURE YOU, DEAR SCAMMMER, THAT THIS IS JUST ONE OF MANY WAYS YOU CAN BE CAUGHT. Be rest assured that your every move will be predicted and eventually, your ass will fry in Kirikiri, after you get a stint at the detention centre in SFU, Ikoyi.

OLE JATIJATI. If some NLers continue to be gullible, we the genuine traders here will not allow scammers like you to spoil business for us. We don enter the same trouser.
