justdream: Please, lovely family (Nairalanders),If you can allow your 16 year old sister to be in a relationship with a 30 year old man, & then let him marry her, you can go ahead. No offence, but u sound like all these shameless guys who have slept with soo many young girls & have this belief that there's no virgin(since many have bn disvirgined thru them) & no good girl above 17, hence the decision to marry a 16 year old. Nawa for you o. FEAR GOD. |
N5000 is becoming small change in Nigeria, thanks to 97naira per litre fuel, but its something. Now, like i always say, if u dont overhaul a system, no matter what you introduce, the same bugs will bite. In essence, no doubt there'll be some form of corruption in this. It's a question of if its going to be large scale or medium scale corruption. & I have to wonder when this will take effect., |
With facebook's entry into the stock market & their dwindling/ decline in stock prices, I don't blame them for becomin more money conscious. & funny thing is despite the fact that many people use twitter for news, gossip, e.t.c., I think facebook still serves some purpose that twitter doesnt. Its DIFFERENT, so it has its own ''loyal'' clientele. ''facebook is boring'', ''facebook is boring'', but u still log in there sometimes expecting to see something interesting, & its not everytym u r disappointed.lol. |
timmy1999: Fashola shld be impeaching for commiting a crime against humanity..you demotion pple houses without any provision for resettlement or compensation..and u say u be SAN..senior agbepo of nigeria..fashola must go..Guy, relax na. What impeachable offence? Are the structures legal or not? My only grouse is the short notice that was given before demolition. &Its funny u r insulting Fashola, coz if u dont come back to edit your own post here, I assure you insults will be directed at your person, not from me tho'......not needed. |

free R1: -B.Sc. microbiology, CGPA 3.48/5.00.hmm... Thank you so much. You are right, most schools grant funding (& even admission) only for Fall. I intend to still try though & like you said, if there's no funding & the fees are more than my folks can afford, then I'll defer till fall, apply to even more schools & hopefully, i'll get the best. I'll be concluding NYSC in October, and though I have a flair for enterpreneurship, the Nigerian job market situation is VERY depressing. & man pikin dey grow older each day. So, that's why i've decided to still try for January & see what comes out of it. Thanks again. |
@Imperiouxxx, thanks sooo much. I got the materials. Will send to my laptop (using a fone to browse)later & unzip them there. Tho some of the mails be like say na another language o.lol |
phy: - January is very realistic provided you can meet up with your requirements timely.Thank you so much for your response. I shall act on ur advice accordingly. |
Guys, please someone needs some advice here. Intend applying for Spring (January)2013. -B.Sc. microbiology, CGPA 3.48/5.00. -Already started online application process for 2 schools (Uni of Cincinnati* Environmental Health: Industrial Hygiene* & Kent state Uni *MPH*). Should complete by next week & submit. Supporting documents will be submitted later. -Studying hard for GRE, making progress, intend taking it b4 end of August. -Applied for transcript at uni, shld be ready in about 3-4 weeks. -Will contact schools today to see if i can apply for Ph.D straight (+M.S. Combined) *to increase chances of getting funding* Questions: 1) Considering the time for decisions, Visa processing etc, is a January start date still feasible/possible? *yeah i kno its a bit risky* 2) Does anyone have any info aspa these two schools especially as regards graduate scholarships/GA, RA e.t.c. 2b) Is TOEFL really necessary 3) Any other info that could be of benefit? Thanks everyone. Cheers. |

collinzy: Send ur shop address. Coming 2 pick d xporter boost 8gb 2mao morning for 2k. 08097090648Hey, Collinzy, Goodmorning. Got ur text. Shop is on Kodesoh at Ikeja, but i'm hardly ever there. I'm usually around Alausa, Ikeja, tho I move around a lot sometyms. Might likely head to LASU Ojo today for some deliveries, so lemme know where the person you r sending is @ The 8GB Xporter BOOST is N3,500. Its faster than the regular flash drives (tho still not as fast as the USB 3.0s). Ask any user. However, I can give you an 8GB Patriot Axle (also very durable) for N2,500 only. Thanks ![]() |

basher: Didn't obj, abacha, ibb etc all have balls? And what did they do with it apart from firing babes?!Lol. I had to laugh here. Look, we all agree that we need a change from what previously obtained & the status quo. That change is MORE balls, NOT less, or total lack of it. |
hey, stop whining. I'm starting to believe you're just cooking up imaginary stories. when you and your wife decided to plonk down thousands of dollars for her to give birth abroad, you didnt open thread then. the way you're griping and complaining makes one wonder if you didnt know she was rich before you started chasing her for marriage? tales by moonlight.
you can like to go through OP's topic history & posts. Its easily accessible. Nairaland has almost ONE MILLION members. So many people have lots of issues they grapple with, & not everyone has a person to confide in, so many come to places like this & share their stories under the protection of anonymity. Yeah, some people come here and lie, but some dont. In this case, as seen from OP's topic history, posts, & general conduct on here, i do not think he's lying. Considering the remote(in my view) possibility that he is, know that there are many people who have similiar issues like this at home. Rich background (sometimes spoilt) wife, humble background (but now successful) husband facing child raising issues. & having a child abroad nowadays in my view isnt such a big deal especially if the wife was born there & is a citizen (in the case of US). With the health care system we have in Nigeria, i wuldnt blame anyone who decides to save up for his wife to have their baby at a decent hospital abroad. & remember that OP has made it clear here that his wife has money. |
nexeee: thanks everyone..your words of advice are invaluable indeed..CORRECT GUY jor. I like how you've been handling posts here, including outrightly insultive ones. U've exhibited some real level of maturity. Make sure you show same when addressing issues concerning the boy (& other related issues) with your wife & ur inlaws. & for those saying that the reason the OP is complaining is because he's from a humble(or poor) background while the wife is from an affluent home, it might interest some of you to know that there are some kids of very rich men & women in this country who will NEVER spend money in the manner OP's wife has done. It's all about home training. & yet, there are some ''money miss road'' poor people who stumble on some cash & will be even more extravagant, literally like say ''dem neva see money before''. I believe OP is quite comfortable & can take care of his wife & kid. There's a reason why he's the MAN of the house, why he's the HUSBAND. I'm not a chauvinist, but i believe both the man & the wife have roles to play & have certain rights & privileges in the home. & part of the husband's is laying down the guidelines on how he wants his home to be run (with his wife's co-operation of course). |
@Topic, i think this is simply BUSINESS. They get the goods cheaper outside, close by (Niger isnt too far from Katsina i believe) & they bring it in. Before we insult them, let the govt fix the refineries or BUILD new ones. & its quite annoying reading posts where people are saying you cant build a refinery in Nigeria coz '' it will be politicized'', & that sort of rubbish. Was it ghosts that built the first 4 refineries, or those that will be behind the ''politics'' & the ''corruption'', are they from outta space?? Are they not human beings subject to the laws of Nigeria?? Dont we have regulatory bodies?? I'm sorry, but if the system is corrupt, it shows no signs of getting better, & even the leaders are accepting defeat, then it simply means that the leadership is just there as a figurehead. Inefficient leadership. Failed leadership. Let the leadership grow some balls & determinedly push corruption out so good things can happen. Anyone who cannot do that is not fit to be President especially AT THIS TIME. We have 160 million plus people in this country, Presidency no be by force, if you cant do it, dont tell us you can. Sit down in your house and support someone who can do it. Dont get there and start making silly excuses. Again, i reiterate to the GEJ praise singers here: If you keep saying that certain things cannot work in this country because of politics, corruption e.t.c. in government, then you are DIRECTLY (not indirectly) saying that the head of the Goverment is INCAPABLE of solving the problems on ground; either because he is simply CLUELESS, WEAK or he is actually PART AND PARCEL OF THE PROBLEM. |
waja: . Eeeh, IBB, Abacha, Abdusalam and Buhari nko?which Buhari? The one that built 2 (or is it 3) of the 4 refineries our leaders have refused to maintain & supplement since? |
gbadexy: I didn't know NL muslims host such event. I would gladly participate in this year's edition.Nice one. I suggest you go through subsequent comments after the one you quoted to have an idea of 'where we are' & 'where we are going to'. However, to make things a bit easier, i think answering the following questions will be quite useful: 1) Do you live on the mainland or island? 2) 2 venues have been set (one will be decided on eventually) for the island, one of which is Jarus' residence. Sweet Sensation, Allen Avenue has also been tentatively set for the mainland edition. However, if you live on the mainland, can you suggest a better venue? & date? 3) Are you willing to be a part sponsor or full sponsor? *bill has been put at around 50k, could be more or less* 4) Do you have more topics or/and Lecturers for the event? Again, you could read earlier posts especially by our organizer, Jarus & Maclatunji for more info. |
ATTENDANCE CONFIRMATION - LAGOS 1. Jarus 2. Faroukbabs 3. Ibrodex 4. ekorian? (Confim) 5. mhuyil 6. gbadexy 7. Find out! |
Jarus: Issues to agree on:Haaa!!!! Ajah ke? For everybody?? It is too far o, brother Sur... Jarus. Tho I agree hosting in a NLer's ouse is a better option than a fast food outlet. Therefore, i propose this: - An Island edition can be hosted at Jarus' residence on the date proposed i.e. Saturday 28th, while a mainland edition can be hosted at another NLer's residence around the mainland (Ikeja is very central & suitable, tho anywhere else that is central is fine) on say, 29th, or the following Saturday. My reason for seperate dates is so it could be possible for some NLers to attend both. Oga Jarus, you must attend both na, shey u know. Me wan see that guy wey dey always write correct letters for newspapers as far back as when he dey ''Dept of economics, Obafemi Awolowo University''. I stay around Ikeja, but unfortunately, for some reasons, I'm not in a position to host. In a few years time, inshaAllah, I will. So, NLers living on the mainland, please come up with a venue. It could be your estate mosque, a small events centre, even a fast food outlet still, or anywhere nice & suitable. I'm in. *modified* |
oyb: https://www.nairaland.com/819351/fashola-defends-justifies-increment-lasuLOL. I'm not even going to say anything here coz you are doing a good job speaking my mind already.lol Simple truth like you implied earlier is that GEJ knew that manipulating this election will probably mark the beginning of the end of his govt. We have had enough. Buhari made strong statements against election riggers in 2015, Oshiomhole also threatened yesterday. Let us see who wants to try to rig any unpopular candidate in (who will be most unfortunate enough to be in PDP). Our eyes don dey open. Lets hope they open wider before 2015. |
Goodmorning people. Still available ![]() |
please help me check this VIN, thanks. 4T1BF22K3YU110087 |
weldone bro. please help me with this VIN 3N1AB61E38L678030 Thanks |
mikkyphp: I'm about to make a purchase of the V6 3.5L SE model. I wanna ask if the Mileage is OK? By that i mean can anyone estimate how far 500naira fuel can take him in the car? like iyana ipaja to V.I (assuming no traffic) and back. waitingbased on a friend's experience, 3.5L V6 Altima CONSUMES fuel. 500 naira is approx 5 litres. I seriously doubt u can do Iyana-ipaja - VI with that. Even with the regular 2.5L I4, i still doubt. i may be wrong tho. |
Truly i have seen a number of honda, Golf and Benz with tie rods pulled off. It must have given signs. A good driver should know if the tie rods, upper arm or ball joint even wheel bearing are bad. they are supposed to be replaced as soon as u notice unusual sound while driving. Negligence on our part causes the tyres to give way, sure the owner must be aware of unpleasant noise or sound before.
Very true. A car will always give signs before that kind of problem occurs. |
