tellwisdom: Be very careful with these kids telling you 21st century and modern day. Tradition is tradition.
If you do otherwise, just make sure you don’t step your foot anywhere close to your village.
You see these ones talking like they know anything about life; they will be no where to be found when spiritual problem starts, and you will have no option than to carry your cross alone out of sheer negligence. talking as if staying at home benefited them ( is Igbo gives females inheritances?) and as if, familiarize with village people is not giving them morer problems? marriage & religion are personal , use them to please urself and not others. |

There must be an insider involvement, even if it's just the criminals kinsman that understands the terrain. Until we start holding ourselves accountable and we take closer looks at our neighbours, the security problems may persist. the indegene duped them by deceiving them that there is a lucrative job in the town, he collected #10'500 each from them, these people are innocent guys looking for greener pastures, the division among Nigeria people facillated by bubu in Aso Rock are the reasons for arresting / suspecting them. |

Education › Re: Nigeria Junior Secondary School English & Maths Exam Papers In 1946 by Fiscus105(m): 2:40pm On Apr 30, 2021 |
Timijo: Mathematics is not the only subject that provides critical thinking skills. All the schools' subjects can be used to develop critical thinking skills in learners. It only depends on how they are used by teachers and that is why we have open questions and close questions in education. Teachers who want to foster critical thinking skills in their students often use open questions. You need to understand the four C's 21st century skills. go back to the questions and re-read them, both the mathematics and English language are for critical thinking, stop arguing, why would university graduates will not be able to solve elementary questions meant for Jss 2 ,not as 3 which type of modernisation or syllabus that warrant that? if ur back ground is well grounded during ur secondary school days, no amount of future changes can stop you. |
Education › Re: Nigeria Junior Secondary School English & Maths Exam Papers In 1946 by Fiscus105(m): 2:02pm On Apr 30, 2021 |
Timijo: This generation is not dumb because education has gone beyond the acquisition of writing and reading skills. It is not also based on students' abilities to solve complex mathematical problems without knowing their applications in science and technology. You need to understand that the 20th-century labour market demands are different from this 21st-century labour market demands. In the 20th century, the demands were the abilities to read, write and speak fluent English. Because of this, the curriculum offered in schools provided these skills for school graduates to fit into the labour market. But nowadays, the demands are so high. Companies and recruiters are not only looking for graduates who can only read, write and speak English fluently. They need people with high critical and creative thinking skills, collaboration and teaming skills, interpersonal skills, social and civic responsibility skills, accountability skills to mention but a few. You will agree with me that in Nigeria today we have youths who are very skilful in programming, software development, graphic designs, drama and arts and those in the entertainment industry are doing well too. Our graduates in the past could speak good English, write well and solve complex mathematical problems but they are limited when it comes to handling complex machines. Many lecturers in our universities today are still struggling to use computers and projectors for effective learning in classrooms because they are products of the 20th-century education. Most standard private and public schools in Nigeria today are offering 21st-century life skills education to help graduates to handle daily life challenges and problems without giving up. I have a lot to talk about this but I will rest my case here. I stopped reading ur epistle where you wrote.....high critical thinking, I stopped because I discovered you mixed it up and confusing yourself just because you wanted to win an argument. going by ur analysis, I think the critical thinking u re talking about has in the root from the type of mathematics they posted, the type of questions you need to think critically and not necessary methods or formulas to reach conclusion. |

Perhaps I should post my JSS 2 question paper here I insist and I'm 100% sure of what I'm saying, to proof me wrong, save the questions and give it to 10 different higher institution graduates, (university, poly, nce etc) come back and give us ur findings. |

Amotolongbo: We are too quick to judge and downplay our generation when we see things from the past.
To start with, in those days, majority of the people who attend schools then were the brilliant and average ones in the society. The dull ones weren’t seen in school. Unlike this our generation when every child is expected in school. Many JSS 2 students nowadays, a class equivalent to the middle V can also attempt these questions perfectly.
Education has deteriorated, but this generation is not so worse as you have said I can bet it with you 70% if not 75 of today university graduates , (not jss 2) will fail the exam woefully. |

here in naija, you will see a qualified nurse that is jobless owing to lack of government job, meanwhile you will see auxillary nurse with chemist shop doing well in her private capacity in treating minor cut and sickness.
microbiologist, biochemist, food sci technologist, agriculturist, art design, architect, business administrator etc, all these professionals can establish on their own and earn a living to take care of family, as it's obtainable in abroad. |

AfroKnight:

The “Mind you business” crew will tell you to keep quiet. That’s why when shît happens to them nobody tells them until they lose out big time.
Friendship is about being loyal even when it is difficult to be loyal.
Solution:
If you are sure your friend is the type who believes in “mind your business” when he sees another friend in danger, then ignore him. He will not appreciate your loyalty. Let him find out the hard way, else you will be casting your Pearls before swine and they will trample upon it and turn against you.
Just know that if you tell him the truth, HE WILL TELL HIS WIFE THAT YOU TOLD HIM. That’s how people in relationships and marriages do. Whatever you don’t want the wife to hear, don’t tell the husband. Prepare for the consequences. And tell your friend what the consequences are if he reveals your identity to his wife. I pity ur sorry thinking, and I biliv you read the situation very well, I also believe you have heard what we called joblessness and devastating effects. |
