Most people that travel through the student route want to have permanent residence. UK govt is interested in collecting their money and eventually give tiny percentage of them the residence paper.

The Home Office is looking for any tiny excuse to send people back home. The UK immigration Minister Braverman assures the parliament this week that 94% of the students that came into the UK would go back to their countries; which means they will use all the tools at their disposal to flush students back to their home country.

Already they are aware that people are using the care worker visa as a short cut to permanent residency. The Home office is just waiting for the time when that papers will be renewed before they drop majority the shocker.

I will strongly advise that our people who are students in the UK should be looking at other viable options outside the UK. The UK govt is sly and you cant beat them in their game.

I was shocked when I watched the British parliamentary session, where that immigration woman was ranting. I feel for education migrants in the next five to eight years. People should start devising means of beating the system legally to stay back after their studies. Me and you know that 99% of Nigerians that travels to UK for studies have intention of staying permanently and some have brought their families as well on dependent visas. My people, please try and be a step ahead of the British system in the legal way. This conservative government is ready to put education migrants in dilemma in the next five years to come with unfavorable migration policies.

I love this. People should be allowed to make their own decisions. No intimidation. Tinubu should be allowed to campaign freely and solicit for votes in any part of SE. Likewise, Peter Obi should be free to campaign and solicit for votes in any part of SW.

I love what I saw in Ibadan and Abakiliki. Whether the crowds were rented or not is nobody's business. Level playing field is all we want.

To even reason am that it was in his State, Delta state that the Southern Governors took the decision that power must come down to South. Now, the architect of that power shift is the one pushing for power to still be retained in the North. Politicians are all serving their own personal interest.

People are here hailing Wike and insulting Atiku. Atiku is still a very disciplined politician. He made it clear that if power should come to south, it should go to SE. If PDP agrees to that, he would drop his ambition. That was the statement from Atiku.

But Wike refused, insisting that it should be an open contest because he was interested. He was soundly defeated by Atiku and he immediately became the defender of the Southern region.

They are all working for their own personal interest.

I have completely stopped driving my car in Lagos except if I am going to see an important client, taking my family out or going to church with them. Anything outside these activities, I take public transport. The stress of driving itself, Lastma wahala and uncertainties of Lagos traffic have all conspired to make personal driving a nightmare in Lagos.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a child being in a higher class based on capacity. It's better than that child being in a class that we think their age should be in while they remain unchallenged and undermaximized.

Some parents actually hold their children back from reaching their maximum capacity with the excuse that they don't want to rush the child. And this happens a lot with Nigerian parents.

My daughter was put in pry 2 at 4yrs. She just clocked 5 now. She's very studious and always pushes herself. Holding her back would not have helped her.

It is left for us to monitor these children and push them in the right direction according to their strengths and capabilities.

Noted. But I will never agree to my 4 year old child being put in primary 2. In Canada, most 5 year Olds are just starting the elementary school. There is nothing like holding back. A star will always be a star when the times comes. I still stand on my initial position on this matter

I don't know why parents in Nigeria push their kids to skip levels in their education. Where are we rushing them? My daughter is eight years and in primary 4 and doing very well. She must be well rounded and up to 11 or 12 before proceeding to secondary, J.S 1

My son is seven and in primary 3. He was given double promotion but I told the proprietress that he must do primary 3 instead of moving him from primary two to four.

Two of them must do primary six and be between 11 and 12 years before entering J.S.S 1. There is no rushing. Slow and steady gets you there. Nigerian parents would want their kids to be 14 years and done with secondary school.

Just get him a private school teacher and let him make friends with good pupils in your neighborhood and in the same class with him so that they study together. His age is not the age of getting a mentor. He should mingle more with his age mates and do assignments together with them.

I had to turn down an international NGO job that would have paid well if I had agreed to stay in that region. I earlier thought I would be based in Abuja after the interview.
But they said, due to operational reasons, they have shifted the role to be based in Dikwa with regular visits to Damboa and Maiduguri. The pay no gree me resist the offer but my wife and mum no simply gree. I had to decline the role.

I am sorry but you know the type of woman you married. I have a friend that works with a power company in Nigeria. The wife is in Canada and they always talk all the time via video calls. The other time, the wife was crying, showing her picture and their 1 year old baby to the guy, saying she was missing the man badly and that the place she is in Canada is just too lonely for her. She was asking her man when he would be coming for a visit or plan his relocation to come and meet or join her. That is a true woman missing her husband.

But in this your case, it seems to her it was a good riddance to rubbish. No atom of respect. Imagine calling your wife 15 times and she did not pick with that lame dock excuse? Honestly, I feel for you. I am not suspecting anything but her behavior is out of it.

There are always jobs for you if you have the basic qualifications in mental health. Lots of Nigerians are taking that career path considering the peculiarities of western societies. Mental health is a big issue there.

Absolutely correct. See all the adverts from banks, they are mostly in IT field. Most IT staff are moving to Canada to become project managers, Actuarist, business analyst and change management specialist

Call one Nigeria interior decorator now, she/he would occupy those spaces with fugly looking heavy sofas and thick dinning table, wall papers and heavy curtains. We still have lots to learn from these people. They always have class of touch in all their works, especially the artisans. Their finished work is always superb. I love my interior to have lots of space. Not occupy everywhere with furniture

This payment for crowds to gather at rallies, is it even real? I doubt it. How could one pay money to thousands of people to gather for an event. Nigerians are jobless and majority are doing nothing. So, any opportunity to attend political rallies is seen as an opportunity to go and wind time. I dont know. I am just saying.

There is so much money in Lagos. Some commissioners and head of agencies are in control of more money than some State governors in the North. I wished all these money could work to transform the city. The infrastructure here cannot be compared to its contemporaries in other countries.
