PoliticsRe: Festus Odimegwu Resigns (Chairman Of National Population Commission) by funnyx(m): 8:15pm On Oct 17, 2013
owolabifunke14: He should have stood his ground. I for once won't agree with the stats that says kano population is lager than lagos. In the other way round,he's a gentle man by resigning because nigerians I know don't ever resign
Gentleman undecided He was simply sacked by his oga at the top to pacify those that could hold him to ransom, the resignation story is just to save his face.

DerideGull: I am certain that irreversible senility is reserved for vacuous numbskulls such as you who conjured that two BMW cars are beyond the reach of a ministry in Nigeria.
How did you come to the conclusion that most Igbos politicians around Jonathan are corrupt? Are you comparing them to Yorubas and Hausa-Fulani office holders?

Are you saying that the Yoruba or Hausa politicians are more honest?
Read my comment very well before jumping to conclusion, I never mention that all igbos in Jonathan's govt are corrupt neither did I compare them with politicians from other tribes.
Dora Akunyili is not a saint but she's no doubt among the best igbo politicians that has proved to be reliable and patriotic however, igbo or no igbo most cabinet members of Jonathan's govt are crooks whether they are Yoruba, igbo, hausa etc.
As well as Dora Akunyili, arguably the most honest civil servant/politician. Your point?
Nnenna, why are people like Dora Akunyili not in Jonathan's govt? She was the only prominent igbo politician that stood by Jonathan when Turai and the cabals held him to ransom yet she's the one that's being ignored. Most igbo politicians in Jonathan's cabinet today are reaping where they did not sow.
Why is Jona so attracted to crooks like Stella or even Doyin Okupe?

A thief is a thief be it Igbo,Yoruba, Hausa, British etc
A pig is a pig even if its donned in the best attire with several layers of pancake, lipstick, Mary kay etc

That's why we must call a spade a spade, condemn corruption and bad governance even if your blood relatives are involved otherwise you're part of the problem.

CrimeRe: Businessman Murdered In Lagos For Refusing To 'Settle' Area Boys by funnyx(m): 11:29pm On Oct 16, 2013
Unfortunately if you want to survive in Nigeria you'll have to play by the rules otherwise you might end up dead like this man.
In Nigeria you must know the time to attack and the time to retreat especially if you are outnumbered, the other day an engineer was beaten to death because he refused to settle some omo onile.

I'll advise many of us especially those from abroad, don't go to Naija and start doing some gra gra o otherwise you might end up dead and nothing will happen. May God almighty protect us all and RIP to the dead.

Sincerely, u guys will never seize to amaze me. what do u truly want? a listening leader or a dictator like abacha?
as for dat tinubu, Yorubas shud pls for once, prove to him dat u are wiser.
You're a cretin! What is presidential about Jona? From eating 1billion Naira food, to calling boko haram his brothers or to responding to every comments made against him via his attack dogs?
Nigeria need a decisive, determined, proactive and patriotic president but unfortunately Jona lacked any of these attributes, his sluggish talent could be put to a better use if he joins his mates in Nollywood simples.
PoliticsRe: National Conference: TINUBU Was Right Afterall by funnyx(m): 9:00am On Oct 16, 2013
A SOVEREIGN National Conference is what we need not one yeye conference that will be subjected to the manipulation of both the national assembly as well as the executive. A sovereign national conference whose representatives will be chosen by a separate voting system and whose submission will be binding on both the legislature and the executive as well as all Nigerians.

This is a great development, I hope it sees the light of the day as it will improve Nigeria's vocational skills. At the moment Nigeria lacks skilled tradesmen especially, mechanics, electricians, builders, etc

Mgbadike80: Three big gbosas for shymexx and abbey2sam for derailing a very beautifull thread out of their tribalistic madness. I hope ur happy now?
What is tribalistic in their posts? Sometimes I wonder if folks like you use a different dictionary from the rest of us. I have not seen a forum where words like 'bigot', 'coward' or 'tribalist' being wrongly used like Nairaland.
If you disagree with their posts simply highlight what you disagree with rather than seeing everything from tribal lens.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians, Please Slow Down On Copying Foreign Things by funnyx(m): 8:21am On Oct 13, 2013
shymexx: When I initially saw this topic yesterday, knowing the mentality of the OP and how corny he's, I just had to ignore the thread. However, I think I'll just add my opinion and disregard the messenger. I Definitely know the OP is a snake; his ways are chameleonic; and there's an Igbotic agenda behind his sermon.

Anyway, if Nigeria needs to stop copying foreign things, we need to start with things that we currently export to other countries, which we term as "Nigerian" - but are more or less a bad copy of foreign things. Let's start with Afrobeats - what's Nigerian about that genre of music? It's more or less the Nigerian way of copying American hip-hop artists. I'd say it's an utterly bad copy since almost all the music sound the same and all the music they make are feel good music. Regardless, I do like a few Afrobeats tunes, but I'm trying to paint a picture here.

Let's move to nollywood, which is actually a disgrace to everything Nigerian. Even the name alone is a bad copy. What's Nigerian about nollywood movies? Don't even get me started on how rubbish, un-African and utterly disgusting their movies are. I'd rather watch the sun in the sky or overdose of crack-cocaine than watch nollywood movies, to be honest. And I'm sure tons of Nigerians share my sentiments. No one around me watches nollywood - that's me keeping it 100%.

Lastly, I'd say Nigerian people themselves aren't really Nigerians. Most Nigerians want to be everything else but Nigerian (including the OP and his myopic Americophile junk). So how can you tell people who thrive on copying everything that's foreign and aren't themselves, to stop something that's already ingrained in their psyche? It would be easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than to achieve that. Copying foreign things is as Nigerian as the Nigerian flag - get used to it.

PS: UNIX was developed by AT&T.
I agree with the bold 100%

My ability to be myself anytime, as for me what you see is what you get. Also my ability to wean myself of any habit/addiction, this my unique ability is an asset I won't trade for anything. I can practically do without many things that most people can't do without.
