newsbest007: Hi guys, it's been a while. hope u guys remember me? i applied for a tier 4 visa in August 2012 and as of now i've not received any decision from the British High Commission. They've stopped replying my mails since October. My college has been on suspension since August and it's still not on the ukba lists of sponsors. Anytime i speak to the college I'm told the issue is still being sorted out.I have no idea what's going on. We are talking of 154 working days. I've taken UK and Ghana holidays out as well as weekends. it's very frustrating because i have all my original academic and professional certificates with the British High Commission. It's almost 8 months now. Any advice?

154 working days, mehn you be oga oo. Why do you still have your docs with the British HC? Are you waiting for the college to be re-accredited? Sorry for asking too many questions, but I would suggest you withdraw your visa application (so you could get your docs back) and apply to another recognized higher institution. You really need to move on, except this college has assured you a world bank job upon graduation

Errmmn, personally I don't see myself signing up for any drug-testing related study, apologies to the Pharmacologists. My research is actually a brain imaging study, you won't be able to participate Sir, as I'm recruiting people with a particular brain disorder. I'm assuming you don't have it

As long as it's inline with the 28days ritual.. Doing that because my school resumes april 22 but say they would give me extension for 2weeks which is May 6th. Do you think that space of time could be enough to get my visa considering april is not a peak period for student visa application, A: Visa issuance is usually done withing 15 working days except in rare conditions.can I fast track my application process even if I have to pay more? A: To the best of my knowledge, you can't pay more to fast track your 'UK student visa' application.

Then do the bank have to write a back up letter to attach to my personal bank statement for 28dayz? A: It's not complusory you attach a letter, for instance, some banks don't usually give such letters to savings account holders.
And lastly I used my HND(nigeria) to apply for a top-up...most schools I applied to did not accept it that according to NARIC it could only allow me start first year, buh the university that gave me a TOP- UP admission used my HND, would that affect my application since naric states its only a foundation to a degree course? A: I'm sure you would be fine with the top-up admission, as long as it's from a registered sponsor (Uni).

skidos4u: dats a gud 1 frm my almamater. d search light shld focus again on sexual harasmnt by some lecturers eps in maths stat dept whr mr Egong, i dnt knw if he is a Dr now cos a left in 2005; he was using his office as both bedroom n office. alot of malabress wu pass tru him ve a biter story 2 tel abt him. d man was or is a big drap 4 ladies wu take der elective frm dat dept esp dos in social sciences n mgt sciences. d worst was dat ladies of a truth dnt lik or knw maths, so it was easy 4 him 2 lord it over dem rit in his office. sum ppl said his case was a curse. let d council focus @ dat angle n c if half of dos lecturer wil not go.

Yeah that's correct. Keep observing and investigating , the same naija fishing methods are applicable I guess you don't have Nigerian housemates.

calebo101: Hello peeps, i am settled in London and everything is going smoothly except for one serious issue. I have hardly eaten a decent meal since i came here. Eating in a restaurant is a very fast way to become broke and dry. I do not know how to cook, really bad and it is making things tough for me. If i can get somebody that can cook and i pay the person i would be really really happy. A pot of Egusi soup that can last me for a long time as i do not eat that often and a pot of stew as well. I live in Brixton. For those of you planning on coming, please in the name of God learn to cook. That is really affecting me here now. Please serious advise is needed. Thanks

Sorry bro, but I had to laugh really hard to your post . I wish I could accept this your offer, but I'm far away from London. You should hook up with a Nigerian lady ASAP so you won't have a pay someone to do the cooking for you. Anyways, good to know everything is going on smoothly for you.

abba22s: Applied for a visa last week thursday...waiting for a reply..I met all requirement and I've paid my full tuition of £10000 and have £17000 for maintenance more than d required £7200 hope it no problem.. Hey Boss, you alright? I've not been to this part of nairaland in a long time. I must confess, Naija system of education is totally different from what they have here. It took me a few weeks to adapt to their teaching style.
