Absolutely correct!

I was unaware that you still have your funds with the college in question. That's a dilemma.

newsbest007: Hi guys, it's been a while. hope u guys remember me? i applied for a tier 4 visa in August 2012 and as of now i've not received any decision from the British High Commission. They've stopped replying my mails since October. My college has been on suspension since August and it's still not on the ukba lists of sponsors. Anytime i speak to the college I'm told the issue is still being sorted out.I have no idea what's going on. We are talking of 154 working days. I've taken UK and Ghana holidays out as well as weekends. it's very frustrating because i have all my original academic and professional certificates with the British High Commission. It's almost 8 months now. Any advice?
154 working days, mehn you be oga oo. Why do you still have your docs with the British HC? Are you waiting for the college to be re-accredited? Sorry for asking too many questions, but I would suggest you withdraw your visa application (so you could get your docs back) and apply to another recognized higher institution. You really need to move on, except this college has assured you a world bank job upon graduation smiley

peteafrik88: If you dont mind, what is the pay to be a part in your research and the requirements. I am interested, maybe your can recruit me. I am available and in good health condition.
Errmmn, personally I don't see myself signing up for any drug-testing related study, apologies to the Pharmacologists. My research is actually a brain imaging study, you won't be able to participate Sir, as I'm recruiting people with a particular brain disorder. I'm assuming you don't have it smiley

peteafrik88: Thank you. Pls do you mind making the clinical trail clearer to me? I have come across this lately and am interested. Though still skeptical bout it
I think it basically involves signing up to take part in clinically oriented experiments. For instance, I'm currently recruiting participants for my study, and they get compensated with some money (from Uni's pocket) for their time.

lala001: @justwise and All... Goodmorning...I am new on nairaland but have been following the thru all this while,nice job u guyz put here.though have some few quesions :I deposited my maintanance money in my account march 15th, can I collected my statement april 11th and apply same day A: Yes, you can. As long as it's inline with the 28days ritual.. Doing that because my school resumes april 22 but say they would give me extension for 2weeks which is May 6th. Do you think that space of time could be enough to get my visa considering april is not a peak period for student visa application, A: Visa issuance is usually done withing 15 working days except in rare conditions.can I fast track my application process even if I have to pay more? A: To the best of my knowledge, you can't pay more to fast track your 'UK student visa' application.
And please see below document I would b presenting:
application form,
CAS,
statement of account,
Int.passport,
Passport photo,
documents on CAS,
photocopies.
A: Your docs are OK.
Then do the bank have to write a back up letter to attach to my personal bank statement for 28dayz? A: It's not complusory you attach a letter, for instance, some banks don't usually give such letters to savings account holders.
And lastly I used my HND(nigeria) to apply for a top-up...most schools I applied to did not accept it that according to NARIC it could only allow me start first year, buh the university that gave me a TOP- UP admission used my HND, would that affect my application since naric states its only a foundation to a degree course? A: I'm sure you would be fine with the top-up admission, as long as it's from a registered sponsor (Uni).

Hope to hear from you guys soonest. Godbless.
I have directly responded to your questions in between the text (brown font). All the best.

Although I agree that the joke is getting boring, the 'bolded' statement you have made is not true in its entirety. Did you take your time to watch the concluding part of the interview? If you had done, you would have noticed that Maupe stylishly covered up and quickly asked him a 'cheaper' question which he couldn't answer convincingly.

EducationRe: UNICAL Sacks 4 Lecturers And Demotes 10 For Plagiarism And Fraud by FutureDon(m): 12:35pm On Mar 16, 2013
This is a good move. Plagiarism is an unpardonable 'sin'. To be honest, majority of lecturers in Nigerian Universities are involved plagiarism (especially the ones who had earned all their degrees in Nigeria, e.g BSc OOU, MSc OOU, PhD OOU).

They usually publish in local kangaroo journals (sometimes W/African journals), yet they make the loudest noise. Apologies to the 'true lecturers' reading this (I've only said majority, and not ALL).

@winbyforce.

Based on what I've read (and still reading) on gradcafe, PhD admission decision is heavily influenced by your research areas. You really need to peruse research pages for each faculty to determine how 'fit' your research areas are. For instance, let's say a prospective student's area is neuropyschopharmacology of mood disorders; if there is no faculty currently working on a related topic in such area, it is unlikely that such prospective student would be accepted into the program.

Did you contact Profs prior to your application?

You should try and apply to more schools (both top and averagely ranked), I read somewhere on gradcafe about people applying to more than 8 PhD programs. Admission into biosciences doctoral programs are really competitive. Just like you, I'm looking at Neuroscience PhDs for next Fall.

My advise is based on what I've learned so far from gradcafe. I honestly think your MSc grade is really good, don't be bothered by it as there is nothing you can do to raise it up. Also, be sure to ask the right set of people for recommendation letters, not the lazy naija lecturers that will only write 2 lines.

Good luck bro!

calebo101: Hello peeps, i am settled in London and everything is going smoothly except for one serious issue. I have hardly eaten a decent meal since i came here. Eating in a restaurant is a very fast way to become broke and dry. I do not know how to cook, really bad and it is making things tough for me. If i can get somebody that can cook and i pay the person i would be really really happy. A pot of Egusi soup grin that can last me for a long time as i do not eat that often and a pot of stew as well. I live in Brixton. For those of you planning on coming, please in the name of God learn to cook. That is really affecting me here now. Please serious advise is needed. Thanks
Sorry bro, but I had to laugh really hard to your post grin. I wish I could accept this your offer, but I'm far away from London. You should hook up with a Nigerian lady cheesy ASAP so you won't have a pay someone to do the cooking for you. Anyways, good to know everything is going on smoothly for you.

Either his personal or dad's account would be fine. Personally, I would suggest putting the money in his personal account (as this reduces the number of documents to be submitted).

He would be required to show funds availability for the amount you've stated, i.e 10,400 + 7,200 pounds, which has to be in the bank account for 28 consecutive days prior to submission of his visa application.

@flynbird

If you REALLY want to write it at EAC Ibadan, I would suggest you pay whatever EAC is charging you. I once wrote my TOEFL with them, you will never see EAC available dates on TOEFL website (except you are looking at several months ahead before taking the test), but I would bet that EAC has those dates, well I don't know how they do it. For example, back then, I expressed worry over non-availability of dates on ets website, but they repeatedly told me to ignore what I saw on ets website. Surprisingly, they booked me three days to the test.

If you are reluctant in dashing EAC your hard-earned cheese, why not take the test outside Ibadan?

I had no ulterior motive to run an unpaid advert for EAC o, abeg!! smiley

Plagiarism-free indeed. Could you please answer the following questions;

Does plagiarism exists in Nigeria?

How do I confirm that you would write a ''plagiarism-free'' thesis for me?

Could you please give me a list of some Nigerian universities with facilities to check for text-matching?

Would you like me to elucidate forms of plagiarism for you?

I look forward to your mature response smiley

Many thanks!
