as far as I know, From what I've read and watch, the US Gov has not released and Pictures or Videos of Bin ladin (dead).

They did say that they took pictures and had a "live first hand" view of the action at bin laden's compound.

Instead of praying why cant we pressure him to do what his is suppose to. Why cant we pressure all our politicians to do their jobs properly. Why cant we hold them accountable for their actions.

I'm sorry, but praying does solve anything, If you want something accomplished you have to demand it.

It was free, and This is not the first warship that america gave to Nigeria, There are a total of about 4 other ships given free to nigeria from america during this past decade.

2ND most of nigeria fleet was not built in the 40's. Thats just a plain lie, the average age is close to the 90s.

----

Correction, most of nigeria's fleet (from gun boats to corvettes and ships) are not from the 40's but most of its large warships are.

Jigawa is known to be the cross rivers state of the north with its clean street and highly educated citizens

I wont even mind living there.

PoliticsRe: Iceland Boils In Volcano And Earthquake-could this be Sign Of The End Time? by GAR3TH(m): 6:45am On May 22, 2011
Iceland has always been "boiling" in Volcanoes and Earthquakes for thousands of years. the Island sits directly between the North American plate and the Eurasian Tectonic Plate which are separating from each other. That separation is what causes the earthquakes and volcanoes, As a matter of fact Iceland was created by the same Volcanoes and earthquakes and is/will continue to grow in size.

By saying this is a sign that the earth will end is like saying because it rained today the next Noah flood is coming.

actually if Fashola and LAMATA consider using subway trains for the rail lines thats actually a good thing.

despite the looks subway cars (Heavy Rail) are able to carry waaay more passengers than a light rail tram.

BTW the cars look no different from the ones used in other major cities.
GamingSony's Playstation Network Goes Back Online by GAR3TH(op): 1:37am On May 15, 2011
[flash=437,288]http://www.viddler.com/player/7d63c65a/[/flash]

ony announced that it will restore game services for the PlayStation Network starting today, and the "restoration" will begin in stages.

Sony's Online Entertainment group said nearly its entire portfolio of online games, game forums and Web sites will go back online but the company will also require players to reset their passwords.

Several of Sony's servers were attacked between April 17 and April 19, leading to the exposure of personal data of more than 100 million customers who signed up for PlayStation Network, Qriocity, and Sony Online. The company took the networks for downloading and playing games, movies, and music offline three weeks ago and said earlier this week it plans to restore them "in the next few days."

Sony's statement is below:

As the result of a criminal cyber-attack on the company's network, SOE shut down its game services in order for the company to undertake an investigation and incorporate rigorous enhancements to the overall security of the network infrastructure. SOE worked with several outside respected security firms during the course of implementing significant security measures that strengthen safeguards against unauthorized activity and provide customers with greater protection of their personal information.

SOE made enhancements to overall data security as well, including updating and adding advanced security technologies, additional software monitoring, performing new penetration and vulnerability testing, and increased levels of encryption.

"Our main priority is the safety and security of our customers' personal information," said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation. "We are making consumer data protection a full-time, company-wide commitment, and have applied enhanced security technologies so that our customers can feel protected and confident about playing our games."

Hirai added, "We are committed to delivering secure and entertaining games for players of all ages and thank each of our players for their patience and support during this difficult time."

SOE will also be offering its customers a "Welcome Back" program that includes special game content and services to all registered Station Account holders. As part of this program, players will receive 30 days of additional game time plus one day for each day SOE's services were down.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Earmarks N102 Bn To Build Lekki Int’l Airport by GAR3TH(m): 3:27pm On May 09, 2011
lawyer:
@Mr Ekt_bear, i read the statement very well.

I don't know whether you live in lagos right now or better still you reside or shuttle the lekki/ajah/epe axis frequently. I should know because i give alot of information about those areas on Nairaland alot. It simply cannot fit into the schedule. Have you see the proposed free trade zone and all the propaganda about how its going to change the face of lagos and its hidden in one secluded part of eleko and all construction has been abandoned? Do you know how long it takes to go to Epe from Ajah? Approximately 45minutes without traffic. Have you seen where the proposed airport will be before the oke orisun housing scheme and link bridge? Do you know about the infighting going on between the omoniles and the settlers of the land and the lagos state government over the proposed location of the airport? How do you even get to the airport when the area hasnt been opened up and the amenities are non existent?

Before i said its not true i looked at all the mitigating factors that will hamper the immediate construction of that airport because its an environment i know very well like the back of my palm. Its all Politicians talk and i stand on it just the same way the FTZ or Mega City has been mooted only in the pages of Punch newspaper. I am on the ground here and not speaking based on opinions and reports from people that don't know the next community before and after Epe!

Lekki/Ajah/ Epe needs roads, roads and more roads to accommodate the large influx of people migrating to that area in droves. They need water to counterbalance the salty lagoon waters, they need more schools, hospitals and better transportation systems to cope with the population there. An airport now is just putting the cart before the horse because it will not reduce the congestion but overload it especially when there are no roads to accommodate it.
Actually you seem misinformed. In your last paragraph you said they need schools, roads, hospitals etc to accommodate for the large influx of people to the lekki axis. If you didn't know the lagos state government has already created a lekki masterplan. Like all masterplans the lekki masterplan shows a planned development scheme of the entire axis from victoria island to epe and the FTZ. Fashola and the lagos state government are already using the masterplan to develop road, schools, bridge, water, sewage and electric layout for the lekki axis. They are using the masterplan to tell developers the best places for their residential, commercial or  industrial businesses. Developments such as the lekki-ikoyi bridge and the lekki airport are all part of the lekki masterplan. As time goes on you'll see more projects from the masterplan come to reality.

Masterplan Map Image:
http://i43.tinypic.com/2qm21j7.jpg

Their are other masterplans in lagos such as the ikeja masterplan among others

In addition the FTZ is still under construction. and the primary objective for the airport id to serve the lekki masterplan, the lekki free trade zone, eko atlantic, lagos state and "to complement and support Murtala Mohammed International Airport (“MMIA”), the only functional international Airport in Western Nigeria. Additionally, it is the state’s desire for the airport to develop into a new hub for business and travel in the west African region, creating an environment of excellence for national, regional and international companies."

PoliticsRe: Lagos Earmarks N102 Bn To Build Lekki Int’l Airport by GAR3TH(m): 7:04pm On May 07, 2011
Lekki airport is located about 60 miles ( 100km ) by road from MMA.

The proposed area for Lekki airport is located near Epe.

Basically the airport was made to serve the lekki free trade zone in addition to the growing population of the lekki axis (lekki masterplan), eko atlantic city, the lagos - victoria island area and the communities of eastern lagos.

(unofficial) In the future, there will most likely build a third international airport by badagry, lagos, and dozens of smaller airports in the area built by public and/or private sector.

-------

New York city has 3 main international airports serving its population with another 23 local and regional airports serving the tri-state area. All 26 airports are major revenue generators for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

PoliticsRe: Do You Think Nigeria Is Ahead In Democracy In Africa? by GAR3TH(m): 8:33pm On May 03, 2011
I believe we are on the right path to true democracy. Voters confidence has increased and voters are now increasingly voting for who they think is best to lead and not based on tribe or religion. Nigeria just had its best political campaigns in recent years along with new political debates and better qualified politicians running for or already in office.

As for Nigeria's position compared with Africa, I think we are in the same league as ghana and south africa but toward the bottom of that league. bascially the list goes like this.

1.Ghana 2.South africa 3.Namibia 4. Botswana - - -7 Nigeria

PoliticsRe: Ondo State: Nigeria Oil Producing State, NO Nigeria project by GAR3TH(m): 2:29pm On May 01, 2011
I doubt ondo state is the second largest oil producer but regardless what does the federal government have to do with the state. its the state government that is responsible of infrastructure, education, economic development etc within the state. states that produce oil receive the highest amount of government allocation from the fed, so yes Ondo has the money to build and develop itself.

Blame your state and local governments and hold them accountable.

Look at Lagos, Cross Rivers and Rivers state and what good state and local gov can accomplish.

the federal gov has nothing to with your state so stop blaming them.

If the federal gov decides to build 1 fed uni then so be it, they are not there to develop your state.
Foreign AffairsRe: Gadhafi Son And Grandchildren Killed As Nato Targets The Libyan Leader's Home by GAR3TH(m): 12:30pm On May 01, 2011
I dont see anything wrong with what happened. . .Gaddafi has killed tens of thousands of his own people just to stay on to power. so what makes it different if one of his own kids were kill in a NATO air strike. If i was a dictator that did the same things Gaddafi did I wont be surprised if me or one of my family members were killed.

The reason why NATO is there is to provided a no fly zone so Gaddafi wont bomb the poo out of the opposition rebels protesters. in addition to the no fly zone NATO is also Destroying high value targets such as military outposts and areas in which military planning occurs. Its just so happens that gaddafi's son was in one of those targets.

NATO is not going after Gaddafi or his family personally, I'm pretty sure they know where he is since it was U.S. and European contractors who built his bunkers.

pulse why would U.S.A. war planes be inside Libya if it wasn't to protect Libyans from Gaddafi. I guess you guys are thinking its because they want to protect their oil interest. Well in that case you are wrong.

The top 5 top 15 oil exports to the U.S.A are:

Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Nigeria, Venezuela, Angola, Iraq, Ecuador,  Brazil, Columbia, Algeria, Kuwait, Russia, EQ Guinea and Chad.

Lybia is not even in the top 15. Like I said before the mission is about protecting the people.

NATO doesn't gain nor lose if gaddafi remains in power or not. Their just there to protect Libyans.
