The monorail will have its own power station that will produce 24 hour electricity just for the trains. The system covers approx. twenty kilometres within the city of Port Harcourt, serving 14 stations between Aggrey Rd. and the loop North/East of the Garrison station. The Rivers monorail will be using the Intamin P30 Monorail Train, the same type used in Moscow Russia Monorail system. The Infrastructure will also have the same design as the Moscow's monorail network. I'm just happy that some liberal, left wing parties such as ACN are gaining popularity. while the powers of the conservative PDP is weakening. This is the type of balance nigeria needs for social-political progress. |

I voted no, there is really no reason to split Nigeria and the majority of Nigeria's problems can easily be fixed. Nigeria has been progressing since 1999 and even though it has been slow in some places we still made progress none the less. But even though I voted no i still made some predictions: I believe the only way that Nigeria will split is if the north decided to break free and form a new republic or more likely join the republic of Niger. many people on here keep saying the south will be the one that will split but think about it, why would the south want to split while the south does not have that many Problems? Apparently the North is pissed off about the elections, extreme Poverty, no Infrastructure, Extreme lack of Education, the constant Riots, receives very little allocation from the feds etc etc. while the south has most if not all of Nigeria's goodies such as better education, better infrastructure, less poverty etc etc when compared with the north. So basically the north receives little allocation from the federal gov due to the fact that they dont produce oil and dont have that many natural resources. And Because of the discovery of oil, the agricultural generated economy in the north crashed, Creating what we see today. So basically from the norths point of view it is the south that is the problem due to the fact that resource allocations aren't shared properly and oil basically crash their economy. Thats why I think the north will break free. Lets face it if the north leaves the standard of living will increase in nigeria and Nigeria's HDI will increase due to the fact the the north is the one holding nigeria down in global statistic due to the fact tha many in the north are poorer compared to the south. And when I say north I'm talking about the core north, the states that borders Niger. those are some of the poorest states in the country. other northern state such as kaduna will most likely stay in southern nigeria due to the fact that they gain from Nigeria's oil wealth. But I will predict that there will be alot of violence in the border states of northern and southern nigeria due to the fact that people in the middle and both sides may not agree with the new borders. I created a map below so you have a visual. Later Years: After the fighting has settled down both sides rebuild the damage that happened in the border states. I also believe in a separate incidence that english speaking southern cameroon will break free from the Dictator in French-cameroom. But due to the fact that the french-cameroon wont allow that to happen and will send in their military, southern Cameroon will join southern Nigeria for protection, in addition to the fact that nigeria is an english speaking country and a democracy. I also feel a Pakistan - India Rivalry that will happen between the two countries, and will result in an arms race which will hinder standard of living. https://i52.tinypic.com/5bcxoo.jpg |

The US warship is here for training exercises with Nigeria's Navy nothing more. this is not the first time our navy is training with international forces. BTW the warship is anchored in lagos were many of the navy's past training exercises occurred. "He said the US war ship, while in Nigeria, will embark on a military exercise with the Nigerian Navy to see the areas of weakness and strength of both naval forces." "The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogbor, said the vessel with its crew of 15 officers and 190 men, would be spending 10 days in Lagos" "APS training conducted with the Nigerian Navy It said will cover areas in visit, board, search and seizure team operations; search and rescue planning; damage control and signals familiarization. These areas of training were selected with the assistance of Nigerian officials to better enhance maritime safety and security along the coast of West and Central Africa." |

OBJ administration was the one who commenced the rail rehabilitation scheme and not GEJ, Yar'adua to put off the Lagos-Abuja railway project based on abused of due process. But later the project went back on track. . .I think its wrong to give GEJ credit since he had nothing to do with it. |

A locomotive is different from monorails, mass tranist trams, maglev, light rails etc. yes all those I mentioned are trains but they are all different and CANT BE COMPARED TO EACH OTHER. you cant compare a monorail to a light rail, or a locomotive to a maglev, they both are based on different systems and for different uses. just like you cant compare a sedan to a truck/lorry even though they are bought vehicles. it does matter what year its made in a lorry will look like a lorry and a sedan will look like a sedan. . .because they are two different things. Sorry to say just like the other argument we had on the same topic, you dont know what your talking about. . . . |

The article states that the lagos rail will spend $ 10 biilion to execute its seven rail development projects in the state. Currently 1 of the 7 rail lines are under construction, the blue line. I believe the Red line is in the later design stage or the early construction stage, I forget. Nigeria went for the F-7 because they are fairly cheap. . .and its similar to the Mig21 (in which nigeria operates) so its familiar to nigerian Pilots. Plus even with nigeria's old Mig21 we still dominate the skies of west-central africa. There is no threat to Nigeria, Its not like Ghana is going to attack us. so why buy expensive aircrafts like the F-22 which cost 150 million a jet or Su-33 which cost $55 Million a jet, when we already control the skies of west-central africa. Imaging if nigeria bought 20 su-33 jets, thats over 1 billion dollars. couldnt we use that 1 billion dollars for something else such as power. thats why nigeria bought 15 F-7 for $250 million which was reasonable. If Nigeria did buy su-33 or F-22 you guys will be arguing that Nigeria is wastefully spending. |

xreal:The fighter jet does have ejector seats and one pilot did use it. In addition the jet isn't 'Shinko', Its fairly new with modern equipment. mechanical failure is usually the cause for most fighter jet crashes. I believe it was a FT-7NI that crashed since the report said the pilot was in training. Also in another report I read they said there were two pilots, So I'm guessing one was a flight trainer and the other was a student. The report said that one pilot ejected safely but the other died in the crash. There is something called maximum capacity. I dont think the police could have handled such a large crowd peacefully and I'm pretty sure the police knew it themselves. Thats why they told Buhari not to hold his rally. . .due to the fact that there is tension in the city and the police wont be able to control such a crowd if something went wrong. Basically, I think it was wrong for Buhari to continue with the rally. . . |

The Sunborn Yacht is owned by Diamond Bank and the Oriental hotel is owned by a Chinese consortium and private parties and NOT Tinubu. The reason why the Toll gate is located after the Hotel is because of Engineering and Urban planning and not Tinubu. Look at google earth and see why the toll gate was located after the hotel. Towards the west of the hotel there is no room for a toll gate due to the high concentration of high-rises and to the east their is virgin land. I dont think the airforce needs any new jets. If you ask me the army in my opinion are the ones who need aircrafts the most. Currently the army has no Aircrafts to assist their troops. the army could buy Five or Six New/Used A-10 Thunderbolt II at a cost of $8 - 13 million a piece, for the Army to conduct air to ground missions. their are over 3000+ cities in the world with a population of 100,000 or more.
