The link to the article doesn't work and I found no evidence online that its 92%. so I'm guessing its FAKE, the highest numbers i got ranged from 50-70%. |

The pictures are very sad. But in reality the Niger Delta has received billions of US dollars over the years from oil companies and the federal government. But Its their state and local government leaders who are stealing the money. Like I said before, Southern leaders are the most corrupt of any Nigerian leaders. But what I find so funny is that the people of the Niger Delta keep electing the same corrupt officials year after year and then afterwards blame shell and the federal government for their problems. Limaoscar:there is already an alternative route posted on LCC Website and if you guys want a new "six lane" alternative route, how on earth can lagos pay for it with it N2 billion budget. the same alternative route you are calling for will also be tolled (ppp). and of-course houston already has multiple alternative routes. most of houstons highways were built since the cold war (1970s). Lekki on the other hand has one expressway. |

typical becomerich, not to stop your propaganda but the Ivory coast doesn't have an equipped navy nor airforce that can compare with nigeria. Ivory coast navy has no warships but only has gunboats and their airforce has only 2 fighter jets that are from the 90s. while nigeria's navy has multiple warships and gunboats and the airforce has multiple new fighter jets. as far as the army, please dont compare. nigeria has about 300 tanks compared to the 15 from the ivory coast. not to mention the human numbers nigeria has. there is one thing we have in common. . . .the ak47  |

@ eku_bear 7 type of taxes in the U.S.A. Income Taxes, properties tax, Consumptive tax, Corporate tax, Payroll tax, Capital gain tax,Inheritance or Estate Tax. not to mention the bills/credit. And you pay them to the federal, state, and local governments. (federal income tax, state income, ) on top of that they still pay tolls $9-$11 tolls for bridge, highways and tunnels. |

but nothing is built for free. Lagos only has a budget of 2 billion USD, and has a population of 15 million +. there is no way the government can build anything for this large of a population, with that kind of funds. That is why you see many PPP (Public Private Partnership) projects around lagos. such as the 3.6 billion USD lekki free tarde zone, which is worth more than lagos's yearly budget, and the light rail, BRT, Power,roads,bridges etc. all are built through the PPP process and all have to make a profit. So what makes the Lekki expressway any different? they still have to make a profit. and on the discussion of the coastal road. the coast highway is part of lagos's outer ring road, which is a different project for a different time. the coastal road will circle around the perimeter of lagos (city) and will have a suspension bridge that will connect it to the Apapa area were the road will continue. but that a different project for a different time. |

You mean that glorified dual carriage road that was there before. Isn't the lagos-benin road also a dual carriage highway, but look at its condition. The expressway's construction is an overhaul, and not a repair job. --- Fact is, if you cant afford the tolls, I wonder how you were able to buy a car. |

For the most part a united Africa may not work due to Size and Control issues, but what may work are regional blocks. As in ECOWAS, EAC, ECCAS, ETC becoming countries. But if that doesn't float your boat you can combine neighboring countries such as Cameroon-Nigeria-Benin. |

@ viewlekan some good points, but in my opinion many of nigeria's problems can be solve without splitting. it just seems crazy to me that splitting will be the answer. @ topic if you ask me splitting nigeria is ones personal motive. okay tell if you split nigeria what would you do next. you will go after the problems that your new country has such as infrastructure, education, violences etc. so why cant you do that with nigeria right now? why not just go after nigeria's problems and fix them. basically splitting is unnessasary. |
