Yea.. But everyone is not poor in Africa. And everyone is not rich in Europe. I don't understand Nigerians. I said Africa, there was no need asking me about that. I would have said Europe if I wanted.
My buisness model is good for the african market.
I'm not hungry, I'm not looking for work. I just wanted a different African capital that is safer. I'm touring Accra now and I love it and there are many Europeans here too.
The problem with many Nigerians is that they can't create jobs. They are always looking for where they will go and work. That is not me. I already built a skillset that I offer across the word. I want to build it further and open a physical centers here.

When u are in a sane African country, and smart, u can live well and earn ur money. It is cheap labour.
But Lagos Nigeria is not that bad though. Hopefully in 2022, the internet connection and electricity gets better (due to ongoing works) as promised by the Lagos state Government. You can make good money in Lagos better than many other African countries (if you are just starting) due to the population factor.

Thereafter you spread your wings to the likes of Namibia, Senegal, Benin, Zambia, Gabon in my opinion. Many Ghanians and Southafricans tend to classify Nigerians broadly under a yardstick, so I don't know if it's advisable to start something there.

Luanda (Angola) is supposed to be expensive. I don't know how true that is, but it looks like a fun place with good infrastructure. The internet isn't great, but it has great culture and gorgeous women. It seems pretty international as well, so I imagine doing business is smooth. Definitely worth considering. If nothing else, it's a good vacation.
If you haven't lived there, I'll say don't suggest. The Angolan economy was badly affected by the oil recession in 2015 even more than Nigeria. I don't know about the security situation there though.

which African country's capital is okay for a Nigerian freelancer to migrate to?
Is there any African capital that offers safety, good living standard and quite affordable that a freelancer from Nigeria can move to?
Why did you choose Africa? I'm not against your decision, just curious.

These all steam from the fact that what will satisfy a Nigerian as a good job will certainly not be so for a Polish.
So to a Nigerian, Poland is okay
Yeah I think the pay might be the reason. An Amazon logistic menial job in Poland for instance may pay 7 Euros per hour, which in Germany would be poor salary. Polish citizens would
rather go to Germany or UK to get 12 Euros or 10 pounds per hour. To a Nigerian though, even the 7 Euros would still be great for a start and of course Poland is less expensive than Germany and way way less expensive than the UK.

Leadership is a problem, but we Nigerians are our biggest problems. There is a problem in our orientation and psyche. Many of us do not think about the future or the collective good, just immediate gratification. Also our society as a whole has lost it, this is why we keep on producing such leaders over and over again.
We cannot turn the country around at once, but we must do our little part in our own way, we must dare to be different.
There is problem especially in our values and how we view success and money. This is also the problem for instance with the corruption at the Lagos Airport and the Yahoo Yahoo thing to name few current examples.

Nigerians all over are increasingly called Nigerian princes, but of course the yahoo boys don't care, and we have people defending them, blaming it solely on poverty rather than on our greed as a society.

Thanks for admitting it.

Ladies and gentlemen, as you all have witnessed, numbers don't lie and facts don't care about your feelings. So when next time someone says no continent outside Africa and their sh!thole countries can be compared to Africa especially Sub-Saharan Africa, do well to believe the person.
While you may be right, I still believe it is our collective duty to create these jobs in Africa though. No one would do it for us, if we just run and completely forgot about Africa. Even if the likes of Poland were to be poor in the first place, the economic strength of the EU as well as the knowledgeable polish citizens would not leave her in absolute poverty like we have in Africa. I still think calling subsaharan Africa shithole is calling ourselves shitholes no matter how successful we may have become abroad. I encourage people to travel but to also look back for fresh investment opportunities in Africa.

Polish citizens are only leaving cause the euro has more value than the polish zloty. Seriously white-collar poland to lagos. Nigeria as a whole doesnt have up to 1000 open vacancies atm and the pay is 30 to 50k on average and thats lagos. Outside lagos you see salaries of 7k, 5k, 10k and 15k. Just using linkedin alone, poland has more than 10000 open white collar vacancies. This is just tech and linkedin. I have not added indeed, I have not added polish local job sites.

Over a 100k vacancies in poland for a population of 37 million and just 6000 in Nigeria for a population of 200 million and growing
Okay statistically as we see, Poland cannot be compared to Nigeria in terms of opportunities but my point is that from my personal experience with Polish citizens in Germany, how they populate the job market, and what a few have told me, the opportunities do not abound.
So I speak from the viewpoint that even citizens relocate enmass from Poland and so foreigners may also not find it that easy. But clearly I was wrong about opportunities in Poland in comparison to Lagos Nigeria.
Travel › Re: Which Country Can One Relocate To With ₦3 Million? by GeneralDae: 12:05pm On Nov 07, 2021
tensazangetsu20:
Na Poland you want to compare to shithole Africa. I think you should do more research before saying things like this publicly. Africa is the worst place to be globally. No country in any continent can be compared to Africa and the shithole countries inside it.
I am not comparing Poland to all of Africa on all indices. I am saying in terms of opportunities (especially opportunities for career jobs), they are not doing very well and if you look closely, they can be compared to some African countries. In terms of white collar opportunities, they can be compared to SA and even Lagos Nigeria.
If poland is that great in terms of opportunities, why are so many of the polish citizens having their white collar and even blue collar jobs ( to an extent) in Germany?
I have spoken with polish colleagues in Germany and they tell thesame thing (Hungary is even worse). Poland and Hungary are cheap to live in but there are not so many opportunities, hence they relocated to work in Germany.

This is not true please. No part of europe has extreme poverty and unemployment like Africa not even shitholes like Kosovo or Belarus.
Maybe I should reword it to say: "But for the fact that they are part of the EU would have been no different from many African countries economically".
Believe me there are lesser opportunities and severe unemployment or underemployment
with very low pay in some Eastern European countries on the same scale as that of more than a few African countries.
Hungary, Poland, Greece and the likes, should thank their stars they are part of the EU.
Travel › Re: Which Country Can One Relocate To With ₦3 Million? by GeneralDae: 11:29am On Nov 07, 2021
Maybe Poland. However, you should realize there would be language barrier and even the polish citizens are running to Germany for more work opportunities.
Some countries in Europe, but for the fact that they are part of the EU would have been more or less like most African countries economically.

@dammyalabs,my agent said is business visa. Please is there anything like business visa. Please how much can I hold for my BTA since I am going to seek for job and not studies, and please am I the one to go to Vfs for the collection of my visa and passport or will it be delivered to my agent's address in Lagos.
Go online and google business visa. From my little experience, it is quiet strange to use a business visa in search for jobs. Business visa as the name implies is usually given to those who already have a legit business to do in the country (or finance for a legit business). But in your case you said you are going there on a business visa to search for jobs. This is why it's confusing. How well do you know your agent?

There is corruption - and there is Nigeria corruption. That airport right there is pretty embarrassing. Their climb to Cocoa house gut wrenching. Visiting malls that are half dark with power black out every few hours.

Your country is almost dysfunctional.
The problem with tourists visiting Nigeria is that although lagos is the richest state in Nigeria ( economic capital), Abuja in my view is actually the best place to be in Nigeria. But probably 80% of new comers to Nigeria visit Lagos first. I also have families in Lagos mainland and friends in Ibadan. Truth be told I found those places a little bit stressful but interesting when I visited. I lived all my life in warri Nigeria, calm places like Edjeba and Airport road warri, so Lagos was a slightly different experience for me.

As for corruption at the Lagos airport, it's sad actually and again the Abuja airport is quite different in that regard. I think Government must do something about corruption at the Lagos Airport.

The Ethiopia Army (Militia) like Nigeria despite teeming with nearly a million soldiers is now collapsing. This is why military ranking that doesnt take into account discipline, training and proffesionalism of the army is useless.

Small force like Rwanda is doing what South Africa cant seem to hack in Mozambique.
You are wrong. Nigerian army have actually been getting stronger in the last 3 years, returning to her former state or even better.

Honestly you are not thinking of anybody. You merely grabbing at straws without addressing your initial submission despite the fact that I had answered you that You cannot discourage demand for the dollar with an import dependent economy. It’s that simple. The main currency for international trade is the dollar. If we as Nigerians want to bring anything in which we always do, we have to convert to dollar to buy and import. If we were a major exporting country we could leverage on that to encourage people to buy the naira so as to trade with us thereby increasing the value of the naira through demand.
His point is that Ghana is not really exporting that much but heaven did not fall when they did what they did. You haven't really addressed that part. You just keep asking the same question.. "is Ghana your competition".

Mostly, I pick from Nairaland and Facebook, the other ones I searched directly.
Three years ago, there was a time I sent my CVs to the companies through their portals, I didn't see any Invitation.
I went to Ikeja to submit my CVs to some companies directly during that period somebody called me that if I don't have connections in those companies, that I am just waiting my time.
Well, I will continue to try
What about LinkedIn, Indeed, and Jobbermann?

We’ll have a different currency with the same Nigeria.
Yeah but we wouldn't be the first country to have that. However, ours would be better because the enaira is also from the cbn. So many poor countries use both dollar and their local currency. But we'll be using enaira (of a slightly higher value) and naira.

Is the Ghana cedi your competition? Also, back to your initial post, did the Ghanaian government try to equate the cedi to the dollar by simply pegging it?
Ghana removed three zeros but forget about equating it to the dollar for now. Just redoniminating the naira to a lower value, what are the implications?

What Ghana did to its currency is redenominate it. They did not and cannot make it equal to the dollar without having equal sphere of influence that the dollar has. Go and read bro.
But now it is stronger than the naira and every now and then Nigerians compare Ghana to Nigeria on YouTube and they praise Ghana for having a stronger currency. The truth is to investors and foreigners, Ghana truly have a stronger currency.

Do you know about the different segments of nursing and teaching ? Those terms are just a general name to refer to anyone practicing any aspect of it. You think teaching is just about carrying chalk up and down ?. Both profession are very broad, tech encompasses every profession that's what makes it stand out. Lol calling nursing and teaching standalone profession is just like saying finance is also a standalone profession meanwhile there are tons of segments in finance. And please teaching is also art and science!
So you agree with me then that tech encompasses every profession and can't be compared to teaching and nursing. Opary.
Programming › Re: The Myth Of Saturation With Regards To Web Development. by GeneralDae: 6:23am On Oct 31, 2021
Kellzzyy:
This doesn't really make any sense.
What steps have you taken to introduce more men into the nursing profession, where the gender disparity is high? What steps have you taken to introduce men into teaching profession, HR, and many others where the females far outnumber the males?

The idea of women only boot camps and other such things is nothing but plain discrimination.
Except that tech is not Nursing and Teaching. It is one of the most deep and diverse areas with so many segments ( Data analysis, Web development, A.I, Networking, Salesforce development, Database Administration, etc).
Tech (especially Data Science the new oil) can also be combined or adopted to almost any other profession.
Hence comparing tech to stand alone, specific professions like Nursing and Teaching is simplistic. Tech is both art and science and it is the core of the Digital 21st century meant to be combined with many other professions taking them to other dimensions in this century.
