gforce5: P.S., as previously stated, I am not against JAPA. In fact, the middle class and the working class have every right to JAPA. Nigeria is not working for them. What I am against, are those who are doing extremely well in Nigeria and decided to leave their jobs, sell their assets, properties and close their business in the name of emigrating abroad for "greener pastures". It is better for these people to secure a second passport via citizenship by investment. With a second passport, they can travel out of the country whenever they want. Always consult an immigration lawyer before making hasty decisions. CIB is not cheap, sir. Also, the UK, for instance, has been withdrawing visa free access privileges from some of these countries. In the future, CIB will be only available in developed countries. After all, that is the reason such schemes exist - offering a means to travel to developed countries easily. A businessman based in Nigeria has to generate X3 of his revenues to meet the minimum fees circa $150K due to the devaluation of the naira. Meanwhile, spend five years at most in a developed country, get the passport and return to Nigeria. |

This is one major problem I have with modern Christians and most Nigerians - they don't know how to hold grudges. You have a governor in the person of Uba Sani, who literally is an El-Rufai's boy, who kept mute when those students were kidnapped. His boss, who doubles as his predecessor DID NOTHING TO SECURE THEIR RELEASE. Today, after paying ransom again, you went to meet the same person who under El-Rufai's tenure as governor DID NOT ASSIST or help you. |

fredwill1357: Cc: Gerr.ard59. Some people on quora say America invested in China to use its cheap lab our to manufacture low tier goods for America consumption, while American industries focus on the high tier goods. Remember it's not America that is teaching China high tech. That is true. But as China rose up the value chains, the US got aggressive and belligerent. If China had remained the low-value manufacturing hub the West wanted it to be, this so-called trade war would not have started. Another one is that China does not agree with the plot to weaken or kill off Russia. See Ukraine today. More than 500K males don die. Yet the war continues. I read posts from conservative white American males lamenting the situation and recalled Pansophist's post about killing off Slavs. I then wonder, is there a difference between Slavs from Eastern Europe and other whites from Western Europe? White people are literally dying off due to low birth rates, so killing more whites in another part of the world does not make sense to me. America helped South Korea to make it better than North Korea and show the world that Communism or socialism doesn't work. America perhaps helped Japan, to make itself appear better before the world after the genocide in Japan. I think their theory makes sense. I do not consider America evil or a bad country though, maybe more of a necessary evil. The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know. The US aided the growth of South Korea and Japan to counter the spread of communism. How come she did not replicate the same in selected African countries? Just look at the re-offshoring plans aimed at China, no African country is mentioned. Rather, faraway countries in South East Asia. Fine, they have cheap labour. But Africa's labour is the cheapest globally. Also, apart from the West Coast in the US, no country in Asia is closer to Western Europe or North America than Western, Southern and Eastern Africa. So, how come companies are not compelled to open factories there? As you mentioned, only China is putting factories in these countries. The good thing is that China CONTRIBUTES to skilling up the local workforce. The Chinese from actions, so far, are not afraid of competition. It is more like "Bring it on". I have outlined examples using the recent laws in Indonesia and Malaysia. Without America, terrorists, dark dictators, extremist religions and countries might be running the world. Perhaps it is time for a new world order, let's see. PS: America has done some good things. On the surface, that seems true. I had similar views years ago. But on closer look into history, one sees the meddling hands of the Yanks. In Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, South America and now Southeast Asia. It was the US that propped up Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussien. They supported Gaddafi and Co., when they were useful. Na part of the reasons I no dey pity them with looking at the migrant crises. They ruined these countries and regions. It is why, apart from the Philippines, the region's leaders are careful if not, the US does not mind going to war all in a bid to contain China, thereby destroying their region. After all, US politicians have publicly stated they don't mind destroying Taiwan's semiconductors' facilities so they don't end up in the hands of China. Countries should be allowed to develop at their own pace based on their cultural beliefs and practices, provided they don't export these beliefs overseas. The nonsense about democracy does not work in all regions. What humans are interested in is economic prosperity. The House of Saud was enthroned by the British and later supported by the Americans as the British Empire ended because the previous ruler refused to sign the document, which will see the current land divided between present-day Palestinians and Israelis. He refused because it was not the initial agreement the Brits agreed to by creating an Arab state if the Ottoman Empire was defeated. |

Gerrard59: Sequel to these threads (https://www.nairaland.com/7678352/hookup-culture-nigeria-bad-even/1#122971617; https://www.nairaland.com/7680544/what-caused-hookup-culture/5#123045490) where Nairalanders, mostly males, keep complaining about the rise of hookup in Nigeria. I thought it pertinent to outline solutions that will REDUCE, not stop the trend.
The demand for sex by men is rising and consistent. As long as men crave sex and women are the only suppliers, nothing can be done. For hookups to reduce, Nigerian men should reduce their insatiable quest to have sex with random women. It is like having a department where male lecturers don’t do engage in sex for grades, ladies who are open to such will be forced to read their books whether they like it or not. Men create the system and women integrate into it. To buttress this, when women who have been doing hook-up attain 30+ years, there is a declining demand for their services because sexual service is tied to age and how young a woman is. As a result, she is either forced to retire or accept lower fees. This is because her customers – all men – have either stopped patronising her or are offering less cash. The men control the system.
It is a biological fact (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22552705/#:~:text=Sexual) for men to yearn for sex more than women. Women are literally the only people who can quench this thirst. Some will say it is because of greed, but c’mon! If you own something which is in high demand that is not regulated nor banned by the government, are you saying you won’t charge prices for it? Remember, this demand is consistent and persistent. Gerrard59: This brings me to the next solution: social engineering. If you want the women in your society to be chaste, it is your responsibility as the men in that society to insist on certain moral standards. It is why young ladies in the North do not openly practise hookup compared to the South. Even in the south, some regions are "morally" stricter than others. It is the men who set the standards. Recently on Facebook, in one of the states in the south, I read that husbands or older men sleep with secondary school girls who just finished WASSCE/SSCE. When you do so while your northern counterpart marries the same girl, you tell that girl in your society that she can charge for sex. Meanwhile, her contemporary in the north knows that for sex to happen, there has to be commitment aka marriage.
P.S. Sex is not free. You pay at a point.
Another is poverty. The poorer a society is, the greater the number of women engaging in hook-ups. Women are demisexual, but when push comes to shove, they resort to sex work. Because there is a demand. Patronising sex workers is cheaper in poor countries compared to rich nations. The common theme here (https://www.nairaland.com/7496716/what-exactly-does-one-enjoy) was that sex is cheap in Nigeria. But ask your paddies whether patronising sex workers in Canada is cheap, and hear/read their responses. The solution is to ensure your society becomes very prosperous. In return, your women will have fewer reasons to engage in hook-ups. Fewer reasons because even in prosperous societies, hook-ups still exists. Because, remember, sex is natural. There is a demand, and demand doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Unfortunately, Nigerian men have not been able to create a prosperous society (https://www.nairaland.com/6643241/nigerian-men-failed-women). Rich4god, There is nothing new in what you have stated that I have not mentioned. To those who objected to my thread, I wonder what they have to say this time. |

superdee01: How do you mean by transcripts being notarised by a public notary? Please explain.
Her transcripts have emails of the verification units of her school and it was stated there that anyone that needs to verify should contact the email. Infact her school verification emails are two on her transcripts and I strongly believe that they would have received a response if they had contacted the school via the official emails. You take the degree to a public notary for verification. Some universities and countries request that from applicants in developing countries. Do a photocopy of the result, take both original and photocopy to the public notary: get them notarised. Then, send the notarised copy. A mere certificate of graduation of BSc/BA does not count, except it is from a "reputable" country. That is, a Singaporean would not have to notarise his document. But a Nigerian has to. That is one of the ills of being a Nigerian. As for COVID and the rest, from your narration, they should be legit. Why the school has stayed that all are invalid is worrisome. They should have been distinctive about which is which. Well, get the academic transcripts (each page) notarised and submit them as previously. State explicitly that you have double-checked with all the relevant bodies about their validity. If possible, screenshot pages of confirmation, like that of COVID, and send as well. POF and bank statements, no be the same thing? If yes, get a bank statement of one month. That should not be difficult. |

Please what's going on? I don't know what they mean by documents unverifiable and unreliable. Any idea on what to do please? A month POF from a bank is not really an issue. However, for the bolded statements, I have few questions to ask: - Were the transcripts notarised by a public notary? If yes, the institution should contact the public notary to confirm. The contact details are on the seal, which is stamped on the document. - The COVID test has its unique confirmatory process where anyone anywhere can input the details online and confirm the result. Has she confirmed it herself and checked if the result corresponds to the entry standards by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs? I did mine and saw only one dose was uploaded. I went to the medical centre to lodge a complaint and got it rectified. If it were one, my COVID result would have been invalid. The same applies process applies to Yellow Fever. As for POF, I don't know if the banks will divulge account details to a private company overseas. No idea about that. - Medical certificate of fitness. From which hospital, private or public? Using MEXT standards, records from public hospitals are usually preferred over private ones. Again, this should be verifiable from the contact details on the certificate. The same applies to police clearance and Mansard Insurance. In summary, the institution seems to apply "over due diligence" on documents originating from Nigeria. I say this because I presented similar documents, excluding police clearance and did not experience this issue. JohnQueen knows more about this line of work visa than I do. |

Your wife expects you to shoulder her responsibilities, her family expects you to also shoulder their responsibilities while your own family also expects you to shoulder their responsibilities.
That's why alot of struggling young men take forever to stabilise. Men should either marry from a comfortable home or marry a woman whose family has pride. Our women don't believe in divorce because there's no certainty the next man she meets will be any better and she stays because of the children. One in particular said who will you see to come to help you buy something in your neighborhood in America or come pick you up at the airport, that they are all busy. That is because of unemployment. So, they have time to indulge in non-productive activities. How come Nigerians who just relocated to developed countries don't replicate the same? Because they have productive activities to perform, rather than being errand boys and girls. Nobody would help you with your bills but here in Nigeria friends or family can help you with rent. Food transportation and having fun is cheap in Nigeria. That is largely cultural and part of the reasons why people are not able to save more money because they have to pay one black tax or the other. knowingly or unknowingly. Another one of them explained when someone came to pick him from airport to a hotel on the island and the driver said the fare was 15k, he gave the driver 50k because it was damn to cheap
Nigeria is extremely cheap. Apart from Singapore, Switzerland and the US, anyone who earns in dollars and spends in a different currency will find the place cheap. Standards may differ, but the prices would be very low for the American consumer. Now, think if a Nigerian earning naira will pay N50K for a taxi ride. |

Some that were politically connected and even got elected to NATIONAL offices. I'll say over 90% of them had terrible even tragic experiences. I can count at least 3 that ended in arguably preventable death. The latest was a Professor who was warned not to go because of his condition. He had a health emergency and died in a taxi in Lagos traffic trying to reach a hospital. The statistics is staggering and fearful. One guy just returned a few months ago. Over 60 year old guy put his life savings into a 100 or 1000 hectare farm somewhere in Abia State. He said the employees and relatives just stole him blind. Similar to my own experience, it was almost verbatim. In the end the community started contesting his rights of ownership of the land he bought with his own money. So when you read me going ballistic over Nigeria-is-better-than-UK threads, I'm coming from a place of reality. I'm thankful I've saved at least 3 friends from the same mistake. I think the mistake is moving in at once to set up everything. It should be done in phases and preferably at a much younger age, like, say 50. I do agree with you about employees' pilfering and general indolence. I can understand your animosity sha. It is your experience, after all. The successful returnees are those with LOTS OF MONEY. Me I lived on my USA investments even though I was running a business 😅 Long story. I could actually go back today and have a fabulous income by *Nigerian* standards. I hate NIGERIAN culture, it's an important distinction. While that is true. They could also be more rugged with the aim of succeeding in Nigeria. I met a woman who has visited 80+ countries as a dual-American citizen but resides in Nigeria with her husband and kids. I asked why. She replied, "I like it because I am home". With the aim to stay close to people who look, talk, eat and think like you do, most are determined to see their return become successful. But dear Sir, think back to the 1970's. There was a MASSIVE return to Nigeria. I know MANY of such families. The vast majority were impoverished in the 1980's especially under ....Buhari’s military rule. Yeah that guy Their children are all back to the UK and USA and wherever else. I'm sure you might know such people? Most Nigerians do. What's your own feeling or insight 🤔 on the topic?
Anyway I tend to go on and on. I know FAR MORE about this topic than I can tell. Let's call it almost a century of insight. Nigeria and NIGERIANS...not Igbo or Yoruba or other tribes, NIGERIANS...are no good and I wish it was different.
Have a good day. Yeah, there was a massive return then, only for the perpetually incompetent ret@rd to thwart everything. The same fvcktard who intellectwats sang praises as the best thing since sliced bread. To be fair, their children had to flee as the economics made sense compared to, say, Chinese returnees who enjoyed massive economic prosperity. This brings me to the belief that Nigeria must not be the only place worth returning to. There are other seemingly functional countries south of the Sahara to domicile. |

It is actually a good idea, especially as humans grow older, they prefer to stay around those who look and think like them. Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, and maybe Dominican Republic are the best places to domicile in the Caribbeans. However, they are outrageously expensive such that the dweller must be really boxed up. Moderately sized houses in Barbados and the Bahamas, my favourites, are not less than $500K, and this is me being conservative. So, for the average black person outside North America, as most blacks there wouldn't be overly interested in emigrating considering the historical nature of black domicile compared to elsewhere, seemingly functional and, most importantly, safe countries in parts of Africa would be the best option. That is where Ghana and Benin Republic come in. The hack is to live on pensions derived from developed countries or businesses founded in those countries that are into exports to curtail against currency valuations. This is considering the lifestyle of the returnee compared to the locals. Basically, earn dollars, not cedis or CFA, while resident there. Guyana is a poor country that just found oil. Better Benin Republic or even Gambia. The poverty there is excruciating. Few people i know are currently in the business, they have being perssuading me to join. As it appears it has being quite profitable abundantly for them. That is where i the idea came from.
From your comments i found that you are viewing it from a big business set up point, although a "small hotel business" is not small business. I admire your optimism. It is profitable because they are not relying on the local currency. Anyone who returns from, say, the UK to Nigeria to rely on naira income accompanied by a British lifestyle is in for a longgggg thing. It is something I have looked into because as the world gets more nationalistic, it is better to reside amongst people who look like you. Also, for some of us who emigrated after more than 25 years in a black-dominated environment, we yearn for attributes from such an environment. |
Romance › Re: 80% Of Girls Make Out With Their Besties - Lady (Video) by Gerrard59(m): 2:11am On Nov 04, 2023 |
Goalminded1: They are keeping away with style.
I know this video pains them inside, but the lady only spoke the clear truth. Even the girls who are within the age bracket of 13-18 years are deep into lesbianism. Bestie here and there, all females only. Offline, I'm so sweet and easy to open up to ( I've always had this gift and it has been used by me to learn so much about the female gender from their own mouths, and from personal observations too).
Go to university of Abuja and see the 90% lesbianism rate going on. From those in the hostels , those renting accomodations at iddo village, those in Nasarawa State University ( that bush school), to those in federal polytechnic lafia, those in BUK Kano. How about the more arrogant and proud ones in IMSU Owerri, federal polytechnic Nekede, UNIZIK Awka ?? These ones even have lesbian cults and rings. Cartels of lesbians, with a heirachial structure, with an older lesbian mama as their patron. Usually a politician or rich businessman's wife. Unilag Akoka is not left out in the lesbian crazy frenzy. These ones have sponsors too. I have sources over there ( girls who know what's up). The day is coming in future when I'll lead a march against all these people publicly, when I must have been voted into the political office that I would eventually run for. This pandemic of lesbianism is now out of hand. It's annoying and it's like witchcraft, especially given the way these ladies pretend and look innocent to the public. Only people like me are hardly ever fooled by them. I sense it, I read body language, and I observe you well. I'll know you about you faster than you would be able to know about me. A serious law needs to be passed in the NA that condemns lesbians to 40 years imprisonment with strict observation using CCTV surveillance cameras 24/7 to prevent them from further getting sexual with one another even when in jail. Anyone caught attempting it should be mercilessly flogged like those Taliban folks do to erring muslims in Afghanistan. A further repeat of the useless attempt should be punished by hanging. This would serve as a deterrent to other women. My problem is that the likes of USA and the west will want to invade us and act as Captain-save-a-queer-lady using all sorts of international sanctions and media outcry. Satan's tools to oppose anyone who seeks to challenge the status quo of a world that he helped to lead astray, giving ride to the likes of lesbians and gay men. Mind you, there's nothing like bisexual to me. That's just a soft landing for people who wanna eat their cake and have it. You are a lesbian as at the particular moment you are engaging in lesbianism. When you switch over to sleeping with the male folks, you become heterosexual. As soon as you go from there to you next lesbian fling (since you lack self-control) you are back to being the dirty lesbian that you are. Same applies to the gay men. You don see things o. |
Travel › Re: What Motivates Diasporans To Relocate Back To Nigeria? by Gerrard59(m): 1:17am On Nov 04, 2023 |
IbeOkehie: Wow...never saw this thread...well I returned to Nigeria in 2011 after living in the USA for over 15 years. I had planned the move starting in 2003. I was a RETURN to NIGERIA evangelist, everyone in my social and work circle knew me for that. Reason was mainly emotional attachment to Nigeria and seeking opportunities for businesses success....prompted by the free market reforms initiated by President OBJ.
I wonder if you moved and stayed in Nigeria? It's been 10 years, I think long term updates are the most valuable commentary.
Good Luck to Nigeria. Honestly, I wish to read stories of Nairalanders who returned and how it turned out for them. Preferably those without political connections or affiliations. The reality is that many wish to return if they have the means and stability they desire. I know of EgunMogajji, but he did not return during Buhari's tenure. |
