OboOlora:Dabota Lawson or Dakore Egbuson? Which one? The former don divorced, the latter is married. From a search, it is Dakore Egbuson. And to be unfair, it is unfair to compare her to Cuppy. Cuppy go dey call Dakore aunty as Dakore is 45 years old. |
Jewessgratitud3:That is not true for financially comfortable men. Men are not judged by whether their previouswives are dead or they have many wives, but their financial capability. This man was not financially comfortable for the responsibilities he had. That could be the reason you termed him the bold. Later he started telling me there's this single mother that has been begging him to marry her and she buys him stuff. I was like marry her now afterall two of una na second hand value. He'll laugh and say God forbid. That he wants chassis. The lady buys him and his children stuff. At a point I told him to stop collecting the gift or risk our relationship. He promised to stop.LIES! Mercychen aka BlessedChen aka BlessingMercy, You lie a lot. I think it is high time you stop creating cock and bull stories. At this rate, you might surpass Toks2008's record. |
South Korea is too westernised these days. Tomorrow, people will say Japan is westernised. Sha, both are the 51st and 52nd states of the USA. |
mctech:I am sorry for your loss...but I have few questions to ask: - Did you ask for a loan from a microfinance bank? - Since the catfish business was worth millions and you had GREAT DEMAND from Europe, why didn't the banks lend you money? Also, there are could be other affordable alternatives to export your product? Also, did you have a willing customer to purchase your products once it got the destination? I am genuinely curious why you had to shut down a million naira business considering you had buyers who will pay you euros, which means the 5K per kg would not or should not be a problem. |
Freebills12:Oil communities and parts of places in Osun, Gombe, Jigawa and other places experience the bold. |
winterfell007:Subarashi!!!! ![]() |
BluntCrazeMan:That is one thing those who oppose Ighalo don't understand: there is no consequence for his actions. Until there is, he will do as he likes. It is only in the Western world such exists. Elsewhere, men cheat, and nothing happens to them, provided they are great providers. |
Israel07:Nairaland has its issues, but this topic discusses the comments about an earlier reigning topic. With the responses, one can judge that Nigerians don't see anything wrong in a well-to-do man cheating on his estranged wife. That can even be a research topic: Opinions of Nigerians on cheating. Why is it not front page worthy? One thing you should understand is that Nairaland has varied members who are interested in different topics. Everyone cannot like the same thing. There are some topics I am not interested in and don't bother to comment on. |
ukaface:I am yet to come across a well-to-do man who does not cheat o. ![]() I am being honest here. |
ukaface:Yes. Both genders can do whatever they desire and should face the consequences for their actions. No married man is going to stop a well-to-do woman from fvcking around. |
EtinosaDLaw:Modifying one's comment is sacrosanct especially if the thread graces the Front page. |
Good list. Thank you OP. |
tshtsh:It is something I have written extensively on, but people don't seem to understand the future effects of such decisions. They might not get the best jobs, earn higher salaries and have flourishing careers. Obviously, those with superior experience from MNCs while in Nigeria can easily plug into Corporate Canada, but for students, it is important they attend good schools. However, ours is not that bad compared to Indians. Indians also attend those "colleges" at higher rates than our people. When you leave Nigeria your income , skills and education should be applied to your new location and not comparing with your previous location. Many leave Nigeria from upper model class ans settle at the bottom in Canada but still beat there chest saying they are better off than person A or B in NigeriaJust like they convert dollar/pounds expenses to naira, but never their earnings. And it is quite terrible moving from upper middle-class backgrounds to low middle class statuses when they are not refugees. The Chinese are better off. Let's see what second generation Nigerian-Canadians become. |
tshtsh:Isnt that because Canada prefers medical experience from other developed or selected countries rather than just the certificate? |
YoungBruzzy:Those are colleges, not standard universities. Their nomenclatures differs. |
spiSeyi:The majority of tech workers in the US are Asians. So, how are Africans the majority? In fact, this is Google's management team: https://craft.co/google/executives The black man there is from Zimbabwe Meta's: https://about.meta.com/media-gallery/executives/ The only black person there is an African American as head of diversity. Majority of the tech workers in the US: https://www.mercurynews.com/2012/11/29/asian-workers-now-dominate-silicon-valley-tech-jobs/ |
1Sharon:I must have misunderstood your earlier comment. It is unfair or unbalanced since both have different historical trajectories. |
Ojagun:At a point, India overtook us, and we overtook them again. https://punchng.com/71-million-nigerians-extremely-poor-world-poverty-clock/ (We overtook them) https://www.thecable.ng/india-overtakes-nigeria-as-worlds-poverty-capital (they overtook them). Both statements are supported by statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, not the National Bureau of Imaginary Statistics. Please note the difference. Please tell me how and where I have displayed pseudo-intellectualism? I did not support Buhari in 2015 or Tinubu in 2023. In fact, I pride myself as very intelligent for not supporting Buhari in 2015, as I don't consider anyone who supported Buhari in 2015 as intelligent. When I comment, I ensure my comments are accurate and fact-based. I don't plug info from my yansh. Everything is verifiable online. I try to be broad in my assessment and ensure all sundry are taken care of. 80% single parenthood in the BA community .Does that exist anywhere in Ngr?Mention one recognizable business owned by a BA?As for any comparison with a black SA? I'll pass.First, while single parenthood is a scourge and actually high, that figure is false. Two, it does not exist as high in Nigeria; thankfully, due to cultural differences. Which is a good thing. AAs own many recognisable businesses/corporations. The issue is that they don't cater to Nigerians, just as BUA does not cater to Americans, AA or not. So, you won't know. A notable business is Vista Equity Partners. You do not reside in Nigeria and yet you are constantly on a Nigerian forum spewing hate against the nation and her citizenryHow is stating facts spewing hate? Tell me where I am wrong. There are some threads where I have actually praised Nigeria and even defended the country. You see, this is a problem I have with you people - you people use words anyhow. Now, you are using "spewing hate" as if you learnt it yesterday, so using it makes you feel intelligent. Show me where I spewed hatred against Nigeria. Anyway, I am not here to make you happy with my posts. If they pain you so much, hit your head against the wall! Insecure,self-loathing little boy. Go ahead and call me ugly as you regularly label Nigerian men.But Nigerian men are not handsome na. I knew this from a group I am a member of: I carefully assessed the facial looks of the men vs the women and came to the conclusion that our men are not handsome, including myself. Or you think I am handsome? Is this not the mentality una brethren carry enter UK thinking that both White and black British women would fall for them? Or is it my comments about you people condoning rape that is making you angry? Are you sad that I constantly clamp down on Nigerian men for not being able to develop Nigeria and condoning rape? I maintain my stance that Nigerians don't have the moral right to lampoon African Americans. We are not any better. That is the truth. Truth is bitter but has to be swallowed. If we criticise them, how exactly are we better? Do we have better economic indices than they do? Do we have higher life expectancy rates than they do? People will mention gun deaths, but how are better than them? Don't we have the same black-on-black violence in Nigeria? It is not like I like them or something, but I cannot criticise them when both groups face similar issues. Rather than remove the log from another's eyes, we should focus on our eyes. |
CSTRR:Maybe that is why Uniben is not better than CU or Unilag or even LASU if they had to reduce brilliant students' CGPA. I know someone from the same Uniben who had 4.96 in Plant Biotechnology and is currently undergoing his PhD in the US. His feat actually graced the front page. Could you mention the name of the Elect/Elect guy who almost had 5.0? |

pansophist:Xi is in the US for the APEC summit. Here is a snapshot of what he said: what do you think about the sudden bromance? Here is the article (free-to-read): https://archive.md/x2RIn

Kaycee54321:If I am to understand the bold, sowing first seed is giving one's entire salary as tithe to the church? Do people still do such in present day Nigeria? |
Ojagun:It is not like there is a black group that is better than African Americans. Black South Africans are better off than Nigerians. Honestly, I don't understand this braggadocio from citizens of the country with the most poor people globally. Nigerians lack every moral right to criticise African Americans. |
1Sharon:As a black British lady, I am surprised you are aligning with OP. His comparison to blacks in the UK is an unfair one. |
ednut1:You are pettier than I am. ![]() |
IkeIgboNiile:Wouldn't you rather love Nairaland? ![]() |
ednut1:Sha, you have a point. But this man probably indulged in drugs and does not have money again. Na money be the koko. ![]() |
ariesbull:The issue with dishing out numbers like the bold be say there could be no evidence to support the claim. Do you have evidence to support the numbers there? |
DamnnNiggarr:Never take such miscreants to be serious. They are useless, effortlessly doomed for life. Trust me, suffer don nack their head tire. |
OfeAchi:Two or three people have graduated with the same CGPA from Unilag - Molecular Biology and Psychology. LASU had one in Law. Nothing like a spoiler. |
AnonPoet: Ewerechukwu Asaka, a distinguished Computer Science graduate and the best-graduating student at Covenant University for the 2020/2021 academic year with a remarkable 5.0 CGPA, has further distinguished herself as a Product Manager at Spotify. In this role, she is dedicated to empowering emerging market users. She wants to focus on highlighting technology’s impact on marginalized communities and champion ethical and inclusive product development, by pursuing an MSc in Social Science of the Internet. Asaka exemplifies the values that the Rhodes Scholarship stands for.Nice to see that the bold is becoming more common. Also nicer to see more Nigerians winning the Rhodes. Just as Knight Hennessey's scholarship at Stanford, it is extremely competitive. Rhodes scholars, especially in White Anglo-Saxon countries, tend to become renowned figures in their societies. Congratulations to the lass. Not a mean feat. |
