All of you mentioning names of your favorite skit makers and tagging them as 'funny" are even funnier than those guys.

The word "funny" is highly RELATIVE.

Many of the afformentioned guyz are as dry as 98 yrs old woman's oil well. They all act funny when they're still fresh but as time goes by they become another Gbenga Adeyinka.

KlintonCod still manages to make me laugh though till date.

Gosh what a horrible person she met at the bank. Maybe he didn't hear or understand her , even with that what gives him the right to say such rubbish . Some people associate western union with internet scam but the bank guy is still an idiot

Sevis is paid in western union centres not in a bank. Let her go online to west union and put her zip code to find which is closest to her hotel .
I don't understand why y'all keep saying SEVIS fee can't be paid in the bank. Some banks actually offer Western union services and SEVIS fee can be paid there.

What could have possible happened between the lady and the guy would be inability to understand the lady well. The guy didn't understand her.

Naija bloggers and half-baked news.

It was all planned.
More like a stunt gone wrong and it's not like it was just a random "oncoming vehicle". It was actually his friend and his brother that were in the other vehicle. He was supposed to jump over the car as he steps while the car approaches, unfortunately but coincidentally, he slipped while he was hit by his friend.
I watched his interview.

What pointed to the fact in the video that it was French President they were cussing?

The rate at which ILLETERATES just caption any video and pictures and their fellow Dunderheads swallow it is just so alarming.

For all we know, that could have been anyone or even any Nigerian politician, State govt/Fed govt entourage that it was purely intended for.

Lame arguments I see everywhere. As usual, it's all about the hypocritical nature of an average Nigerians.

Simple question ; if the kits were made in Aba, would it have sold out within that record time?
Nike is an international brand with designs perfected to the world standards.

Charity begins at home. Let our local league have their sponsors building kits from Aba, trust and confidence can then be built through that, before you'd see a company as giant as Nike compromising standards (which they don't joke with in other parts of the world and just a slight loophole can plunge them into a disaster that millions of dollars can't rescue them from) in order to help grow Nigerian economy (which even is less of a concern to their own business growth) by testing the water.
A pedigree has to be established and popular before diving into such a huge risk by giant brand like Nike.

Take it or leave it;
It "sold out" in that "record time" because it's Nike and it was not built in Aba. Simple!

I often laugh each time I see people embarrassingly correcting others over English grammatical mistakes or blunders. The native speakers are often amazed at our over consciousness of mechanical correctness of a second language after our native language. There are many things grammatically to which Nigerians attach importance but d native speakers will easily overlook, especially in spontaneous or unrehearsed spoken communication.

It's even worse for Nigerian students studying English as a discipline. One writes 4/5 pages to answer a test or exam question but ends up scoring 4/6 out of maximum 15 or 20 marks

Grammatical mistakes & errors are nothing to take too seriously.
The interesting thing is; the primary speakers make blunders more. I watched as more than three different Americans called ATM machines today in a gathering. I kid you not, these are principal officers of a corporation. If it were to be a Nigerian gathering you would have seen or heard one oversabi Big-head "whistling" or banging the desk. I have heard several blunders (like; "what did he said"wink that even a primary school student from Nigeria would have been so conscious enough of.

Na naija dey carry blunders for head. If you do a typo (though I encourage avoiding such as much as possible) they would rip you apart, meanwhile I can't count number of times I've come across something like below from big platforms.

OP, there are two things involved.

It's either she's a witch draining your blood for survival or any of your spiritual girlfriend/your angered ancestors from the village using her presence to punish you. If it's the first one, you're a bit safe, if it's the latter, I'm sorry there are two things involved; it's either your blood was on the priority list for the donor list this year or it's God who has deliberately given those people privilege to punish you for engaging in such disrespectful acts towards him and having the audacity to open your stinking mouth (mouth that might have already being used in some filthy acts) to pray to him. If it's the former you should be a bit happy, should it be the latter, yet again I'm sorry, there are two things involved ; it's either you dedicate your life, resign from your job and travel to Jerusalem for a charity work in any Jewish temple for at least four years or you find a Fulani HERDSMAN around to cut off your JT for sacrifice to the gods which would also help you abstain. If the first option is not viable enough for you but the second option, definitely there are still two things involved, before I proceed, send me the girls contact. In the mean time, invite her over, get some hardcore adult movies, watch together and go as many rounds as you can, after you're done, stand up, light 3 candles and say this prayer after me " every spirit donating my already insufficient blood to their coven, die, die, die, I say die." again, I say what are you waiting for? Die, I command you to die". However, endeavor to get some pints of blood and mix with zobo and peak milk. Take 3 teaspoons daily. You might need to do this for 6 month on a daily basis to replenish the blood that has been taken from those period of just ordinary test samples to now a large scale venture.

Crime / Re: Nigerian Sex Offender Deported From U.S For Assaulting 7year Old Girl by GetUmad: 2:34am On May 29, 2018
RaptorX:
7 year old in 2002 but a 20 year old in 2015 when the man was charged and convicted. My question still is why if the offence was committed in 2002 why is he being charged 13 years later not about him lying on his citizenship application in 2004 and he had no reason to state it on his application because he hasn't been charged with any crime. Did the 7 year old now a 20 year old reported him 13 years later? To many people commenting have no critical thinking skills and have no clue how the American legal system works, this man is just a victim of bad legal advice by taking a plea deal.

My brother I tire oo. I don't bother to read much of the comments on nairaland any longer cos majority of those you see commenting are educated illiterates, the perfect examples of the Lazy Nigerian Youths. They comment for likes from their likes (the non-intelligent ones).

If only they knew how broad the definition of "assault" could be and how the system works here they won't be typing those rubbish. He pleaded guilty how many years later? He was not convicted prior to his naturalization. Should he have willingly told them during his filing process that he once had a case of an assault? How many people here would have done that? Hypocrites everywhere. They do worse than this everyday in their hole. Pray you don't get into trouble. Sometimes you do some things without the intent of being a bad person and when devil wants to punish you, things would be turned against you and your Attorney might ask you to plead guilty as the only way out for a lesser sentence.

I was in company of someone one day and I saw this young, cute babe. As a naija guy I walked close to interact wit her and gave her this look (you know dt kind babe you too set gesture and look), The person beside me immediately dashed towards me to warn me to be very careful that she might be a minor and she might term it to be assault (being a white) if she doesn't dig me,warning me while gisting me of how such things had put some people in trouble.

No doubt the man might have committed the crime for real, but again, giving how you could easily be roped in and have an exaggerated allegations against you, I won't be quick to judge him.

At first I didn't wanna participate but now I will.
I'm a retired Samsung user(now using tecno) I see nothing in this thread other than a waste of time.
Its just like someone creating ads and wanting people to visit and click.
Ya all be shouting Samsung Samsung upandan
I don use many Samsung phones(most of dem na just waste of money).
For xiaomi phones, na parts be their own shit(not readily available).
Although Samsung phones are very very nice and when it comes to android, I think they are number 1.
But then let's go to the most important part(the cost of d phone and cost of reparing)omo na die o
Imagine buying a uk used phone (a5 2016) for 70k, phone broke and d screen cost is 47k
Haffa na!!, almost the money I bought it.
Tecno and infinix are really trying these days and they are at good prices.
Guys, na Nigeria we dey, as long as the cost to performance ratio of these phones is balanced , I, and some wise people don't care about the EUROPE market and all those stuffs.

Wen we commot naija, we go dey bother
So just carry this thread commot coz I see it as bad mouthing these phones.
Brother, cost to performance ratio as you said for those phone isn't balanced. Only very few people are lucky enough to enjoy the value of the money used in the purchase of the phone. It hardly goes beyond 18 months (of careful and very sensitive usage). I was their die-hard marketer (not a paid one though, more of a fanboy when Tecno started Android phone). I made sure I convinced all my friends then to buy that Tecno n7 which I thought was a monster of a phone to compete with the international brands as far as Android phones are concerned. It was one of my greatest mistakes. None of them could last even up to 6 months without issues and I got mocked by my friends till date. I still convinced one of those guyz then to buy P3 (can't remember the p it was actually) when the N7 had issue, unfortunately that one didn't even last 3 months.... Let's be sincere with ourselves, Yes, they're very affordable and can perform good functions needed in a smartphone but if you consider how many you'd buy within 2 yrs or how much you'd spend within that period, you'd agree most of them are nothing but penny wise pound foolish. I haven't come across anyone with those chinco phone that lasted up to 2 years but you see people with their Samsung phone (even bought used) being used for many years with even a cracked screen (which unfortunately happen to be the major problem you'd always face with it) that still functions well. Once those chinco has just a small cracked screen, expect them to go "auto-press" (among many other issues that'd would also cost you a whole lot to fix) . It'd start dialing numbers and opening applications on it own. I've seen 3 like that. Meanwhile my old Samsung S6 with even an almost detached screen still functions well till date.

No they don't. Show me a store that sell their phones in the US. Not online stores, I mean can u get them from any carrier?
Must I get a phone from a carrier? I don't get you. Majority of the popular carriers are sorta brand-specific. They sell and market major brands like iPhone, Samsung, HTC and LG and the likes . Nonetheless they that doesn't mean you can't get it from some of them. Boost Mobile, Cricket and some other networks sell these phones. You can also get Huawei, ZTE in many stores in US (Best Buy, Walmart and many other phone stores) . I don't know about others you mentioned there.
I want to believe all what the Transition or na Traction company do is just mere branding of mobile phones. I once came across a phone called Ojji and it has exactly same UI and spec as Infinix hot 2. I mean nothing changed. I know of someone in Nigeria that ordered cloned phones from a company in China as Christmas gifts for his clients and the phones were branded in his company's name.

I'm so tired of reading people always making reference to Tuface as being exempted from vulgarity or being an Angel among many wolves. That's nothing but Hypocrisy.

What's the meaning of "enter the place"? Which place dem wan enter?
If I come tell you say "As I kolombi your sister", would you see that as decent enough?

What about his latest Gaga shuffle, so it's not evident enough that he engaged in vulgarity, though subtly (whether subtly or otherwise, it does not change the foregoing matter) . "I wan involve you for my *fu*cking* craze". If na Wizkid or Terry G sing say " Na Yaba Left we dey, and many people need Psychiatric Doctor today Aih, so make we pia, make we pull up..." it'd have passed as vulgar right?
Can you sit around your African Mum or Dad, no matter how old you are and you'd be chanting continously " As I wan craze, I wan involve you for my ****?
Yea, that's what I thought. That, exactly is the underlying implications of vulgarity.

My point ;

Innocent Idibia, though sort of more matured most times with his lyrics compared to many others, yet this doesn't make him Innocent enough of the issue at hand.

Thanks.

Though I know this thread is already dead, buried and forgotten the moment the guy created a counter-thread, and I'm sure they're together somewhere now smiling and making fun of these threads. However these are my observations.

1) The lady might have lied about some stuffs, its not because she's a liar as some people accused her of, but possibly to conceal her identity as much as possible so that people close to her (outside nairaland) who might have known about the thing going on between her and her guy might be confused if she's the one or not. She might not even be an Ibo lady as her moniker suggests. It's all to shield her.

2) The lady loves this guy so much and actually wanted to make it work, at the same time needed some heads up to take some harsh decisions like breaking up hence her reason for bringing it up here.

3) She's been very lonely and she must be the type of lady that likes being in the company of her guy all the time. She's sexually active and it's obvious she's being sex-starved

4) Just like an average Nigerian girls, she's at that stage of her life where they see nothing else more important about their life other than being called "MRS" anytime soon, just like their peers. I've had several opportunities to talk out some of my lady friends of their desperate moves all in a bid to "hurriedly" answer to the pressure of becoming a MRS. We all should know at a stage in a lady's life, all she thinks and dreams about is getting married, as sad and unbelievably ridiculous as it is. They become so desperate that they can do anything just to achieve that, even if its dumping a prospect for a temporary ASSURANCE . This is very common amongst our girls.

5) As rightly pointed out by some Posters, the guy is that average Nigerian guy who sees FINANCIAL STABILITY as a priority before any marriage. Most Nigerian guys would always want to make "that money" first before settling down. That's where their pride lies. They want to be in charge financially. Most guyz wouldn't ever attempt going to any marriage only to later start depending on some people (even your wife) for survival. I must agree he actually made a great mistake of promising the lady an instant marriage just as they even started dating and yet to get to know each other. He knew what she wanted, played into her hand just to make her feel secured (the lady must be a very pretty one hence he didn't want to loose her) when he knew it wasn't actually guaranteed.

6) At a point, the guy had so much going for him and he couldn't handle the pressure from her lady coupled with other pressures engulfing him. He easily felt irritated by her, it got to a stage he started having a second thought about everything and that was at that point the lady in question was trying hard for both of them to see, but my guy just wanted to be left alone hence he kept making excuses. Note : it's not that he didn't still love her at that moment, but some thoughts and fear crept in which made him paranoid, consequently leading to the need to avoid her. Meanwhile at this point, just as Human being the lady is, she was feeling dejected and unwanted. The ASSURANCE she wanted was going bleak and her endurance level waning.

7) Being an extremely introvert person, while the lady the direct opposite didn't help the matter either.

In conclusion, I beleive they could work it out. All they need is some time. No need to rush. They need to still get to know each other more. It's obvious they love each other. Notice how they both independently avoided saying ills about each other. That goes to show they really adore each other so much. The u ion can work. However, there must be a great sacrifice and compromise, especially from the guy. He needs to understand the lady loves him and really wants to spend her future with him but he would need to be less of an introvert. I mean, if the lady could have made some sacrifices of being less of an extrovert she used to be, they can both meet at a midpoint (my wife was also an introvert, had to sacrifice some lifestyles so we could be both happy, she also became less of homebody she used to be and this helped us both a lot) . The most important thing is COMMUNICATION and MEANINGFUL TIME spent with each other while planning a formidable future together.

I want you to disregard whatever anyone might have told you about calling it quit. Many of them don't even have a steady relationship and can't keep one but they'd jump to this kind of thread and give advice. Both of you should come together, go on vacation somewhere for like a week and have deep discussion about the way forward, about your future. I beleive so strongly that if you both decide to make it work, it'd work. The most important thing is you both cherish each other which is apparent in the two threads.

People run to hasty conclusion. Yes the car was badly damaged and I will not even buy for personal use. But why the misleading caption. I tell u honestly that it cost that dealer up to $700 to truck that vehicle from california to texas before shipping. I believe dealer was decieved by the low auction price. Explorer, go back and add the cost of repair. Increase trucking to $700. U will never truck for $200 for that distance. Even from Dallas to Houston is more than 200 since they increase the pump price of gas. Then that auction fee won't be up to $500. I can tell u that car was both a bad sale to the dealer and a bad buy to the buyer. Papa will definitely suffer in the hands of that scrap.
Exactly my sentiment.
Many people just rushed to comment like it's one of their Bbnaija threads without even the slightest knowledge of what it takes to bid, ship and fix. It's laughable the cost analysis OP even quoted in his opening message. I understand the dealer messed up hyping the car as clean but we should never forget as naija that we are, in order to sell something you'd definitely have to "hype".Truth however is how many people can really afford to buy a non-accidented clean vehicle? How many people would go for a car in Nigeria if they were showed the true initial status? Many would run and even go for a "worse" one that's hidden from them as much as possible. Many of the Tokunbo cars in Nigeria had similar status or worse and many still drive fine till today. But is not meant to encourage fraudulent sales to unsuspecting buyers.

Normal people/business persons/companies have fair return policies. Or you aren't that exposed to know the concept of warranties?
Not all products have "warranties". Things just as these are sold "as is".

I read this thread and I must confess I'm highly disappointed at those who are condemning the seller based on the price of purchase as published, without considering the total cost involved in getting it to that status. That car was wrecked and the dealer must have spent a whole lot to get it to that stage. I mean a whole lot of money, energy and time. We should not forget this is business. The main purpose of engaging in business is to make profit. After careful analysis of the extent of damage on that car, shipping and repair cost, I doubt much if that dealer would have made up to 200k on that car.

Some people are saying he should have told the buyer the true initial status. How do we easily jump into conclusions? Did the buyer bother to ask and he didn't tell him? I can't fault him on that. Where I would have faulted him was if he hid the VIN from prospective buyers. I mean, let's be realistic with ourselves, how many of you people would tell every prospective buyers without them asking how you got the car and the initial terrible condition before you "refurbished" it to the level it now is? How many of you would do that, sentiment aside? The more the car stays in your stalls the lesser the value by the day. You're never obliged to do so unless being asked. You don't do business by advertising the process of arriving at the "end product". However, honesty pays, it's better you give the buyer the VIN for self investigation and examination if they deem it necessary to do so. How many of you that buy London used phone actually bothered to know how badly damage it was before it became refurbished? Same things goes with any "used" stuffs.

The truth is, the clean title of that corolla is very expensive. The minimum you could get is around $ 3k5. That's just the cost price aside other costs. By the time the landing cost is factored in, how many people would agree to buy it.

I got similar one few months back with the intention of fixing and sending to naija, however I had to resell it as Junk after getting the estimate of how much it'd cost me to fix it. I bought it on auction "as is" . Never had time to inspect it and I underestimated the damage level. I could have spent a few thousands to fix it though and still send it home, but I realized it doesn't worth it.

A good, clean car from "overseas" is actually very costly but how many people would buy it without telling you of how someone bought same at a far cheaper amount (and trust me Naijas can argue this well). We are actually fast at condemning others in Nigeria (would have actually done same some years back not until now that I have come to understand things better) without deep understanding of circumstances surrounding those situations.

Chief judge, do you know if she is married?

You should know Nairaland is filled with kids. Many people that comment on Nairaland are Teenagers, which is evident from their not-so-sensible and immature remarks to important discourse.
I actually wanted to insult that guy, however on a second thought, I left him.

Even if she wasn't "married", it's so obvious that lady isn't a Nigerian, probably an Akata. An Akata of that age and level already have 2 to 3 grown kids from different men. I wonder if it's one hypocritical Mumu from Nigeria that'd now be advising these ladies from Western world about "Abstinence".

The same people criticising her are sleeping around without caution, spreading infections about and multiplying the country's population under shameful circumstances.
