The bank made provisions in the 15 months ended December 31, 2008 as required by the CBN. Not only Oceanic Bank , but all the banks are making provisions. The O/P made wild allegations possibly to settle scores. According to the bank's audited results,Oceanic Bank grossed N188.22 billion. The gross earnings rose by 151 percent over N113.28 billion earned at the previous year.( Source; Thisday July 21,page 54 2009).Profit before tax was N53.21 billion. Provisions were made for N42 billion.
Let it be known that provisions are not losses wink wink wink wink wink cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy. They are recoverable and when recovered becomes part of profit.
Go thru today's dailies and see provisions made by banks. People should not display their apparent ignorance of financial statement interpretation and analysis for the public to read.
You may be a banker but yet to understand the fine details of financial statement interpretation.Come out with facts and figures of banks not making provisions and I will go the extra mile of posting detailed analysis of various banks and their provisions. The ball is in your court.

infidelity is a personal thing. sometimes the man is the cause whereas at some other times rhe woman is the reason behind it. you see, if ur man is not treating u right he's put u up for it ,in the same vane, if the woman is the over demanding type she has putten the man up for it. understanding is the life wire of every relationship. infidelity is never ever genetic, but it is always a product of marital disorders. if proper communication is in place and the bond is still strong then the question of infidelity is out. tell your friend his parents are not going to build his family with him.
so how do you explain people who are well looked after yet still find the need to be unfaithfull?

some people have the bad habit of sleeping around marriage has nothing to do with it.

Hello people,I don’t know about you guys, but I am so proud to be a WINNER, a seed of the Liberation Mandate. I’v being in Living faith since 1997 as a pre-teen. In this month of My God Still Answers Prayers, God truly amazed me. Last week Monday, I sowed the last withdraw able cash in my account (#5,000) into a friend’s life, I did not even think twice about it instead I felt so much joy cause it was well appreciated and I felt good about it. Four days later, I received a text from a man I saw once but never took notice of while at a mechanics’ 3 months ago asking us to be friends. I didn’t turn him down but asked to meet him at an open place on saturday evening only to realize that he was a foreigner (Born again) who has been in Nigeria for a while and needed to make a friend. I invited him to church the following day (Sunday). later that night, he sent me a txt that God was leading him to bless me with $1000 just like that,I was amazed, I got the money on Monday morning and i return all the glory to God.

I depend solely on him(God) for everything cos the arms of men have failed me countless times, wanting to give me something at a nothing goes for nothing base.I here the word from my Father in the Lord Bishop David Abioye and believe me God has always used that to strengthen me at all times.

Hey, i will be going for the upcoming youth convention on next week(5-9 August),how many will be there?

A Queens nurse allegedly channeled Lorena Bobbitt as she exacted revenge yesterday on her hubby for his infidelity.

The woman, feeling burned over her husband's cheating, woke him up by pouring a "big pot" of scalding water over his genitals, the victim told The NY Post.

"I was in bed, I was fast asleep . . . She came into the bedroom and poured hot water all over me," Emmanuel "Ojo" Ojofeitimi, 67, said last night from his hospital bed, where he was being treated for second- and third-degree burns over 30 percent of his body.

"I didn't know what had happened. By the time I woke up, the skin was falling off," Ojofeitimi said.

"It sounded like a woman screaming," a neighbor in their Springfield Gardens building said of the 6 a.m. attack.

Ojofeitimi said his wife was wielding a large hunk of wood expecting that he would attack her after she scalded him.

"I don't know whether she flipped out, or something happened . . . I didn't anticipate this at all," he said.

"She does not know how to forgive and forget; she doesn't let anything go by," he said. "If I come home late from work, she's always assuming that I'm with a woman."

But Ojofeitimi said his wife of 21 years, who is from Grenada, had never gotten violent before.

Ojofeitimi said, "I will file for divorce, but I don't want her in jail."
the lady exercised her rights to take him out of circulation like he exercised his of giving her any VD. he is a big fool. this day and age still fucking about like he is best gift to women.

N271m fraud: Mass literacy boss, others know fate today

Lanre Adewole and Kolawole Daniel, Abuja - 29.07.2009

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, will today, rule on the composite bail application brought by the 11 accused persons standing trial over the alleged N271 million fraud in the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, even as one of them hinged his plea for freedom on his daughter’s naming ceremony.

The accused included the agency’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Dayo Olagunju, Mr. Joshua Alao, Mrs Alice Abang, Jibrin Waguna, Mallam Ahmed Abubakar, Mallam Shehu Abdullahi, Dr. Victoria-King Nwachukwu, Mr. Adamu Khalid, Mr. Moses Oseni, Mr. Francis Awelewa and Mr. Bashir Suleiman.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had slammed a 17-count-charge on them for allegedly not complying with the provisions of Procurement Act 2007 and for approving contracts beyond their approval limit.

While moving the consolidated bail application, counsel to the accused persons, Aliyu Ahmed, prayed the court to grand bail on liberal terms, noting that the wife of the 5th accused, Mallam Ahmed Abubakar, was delivered of a baby girl last Monday (July 27), while he was still in detention, and should be available for the naming ceremony to perform the fatherly role.

The accused were however, remanded yesterday pending today’s ruling.
In the 14-paragraph supporting affidavit attached to the bail application, the accused claimed that the charge against them were speculative because facts were not before the court.

Boko Haram more accurately translates to: Secular Education's an Abomination.

They want the type of education they had before the British came in. Saudis don't attend secular schools, but they're more educated than Nigerians.

That is the only thing you saw about the story?. he is no more a Nigerian rather, he is better known as an igbo man. Your stupidity and tribal lens will not let you know any other thing in Nigeria besides tribalism.  First and foremost, there is no name like that in igboland. may be he is from middle belt or mid west but certainly not igbo but who cares where he is from?.

Also it's called defrauding the govt and not fraud the govt. Didn't your non igbo  father spend the money he makes in his medical business in your school?.

Please, your lips are too dark from smoking so, you need to stop smoking. I am sure you smoke ganja too and thats why the only thing you discovered about the story is his ethnicity. LOVE AGAIN AFTER HEARTBREAK?
This post was written by admin on June 14, 2009
Posted Under: Love and Romance
By GIDEON OPARINDE

For those who have passed that road before, heartbreak is always a painful experience. Some ladies with this experience would rather keep their distance from men while some would take the plunge again and again because they know they can not keep away indefinitely from men—the necessary devils. This group of people believes in the saying: “Two is better than one”. So they stoop to conquer.

If you were faced with this kind of situation, how would you react? Excerpts

MRS BIU
As a married woman, I have had no such experience. But if it had happened before my marriage, I would have found it difficult to forgive the man. But for the fact that I’m a Christian would make me forgive him with time and move on with life. A proverb says, “when a woman is dumped by a man, she will definitely will marry another man.” I will date someone else, but I will be extra careful in the relationship.

IMONG ADEOLA
Yes, I can find love again. If one goes, another will come my way. Even if it takes a while, God has a reason for everything. No matter how bad it is, every disappointment is a blessing.

SHADE AYODELE
Why not? Life goes on because such things happen.

HELEN IDOWU
This world is full of ups and downs. In any relationship, there are always tribulations. I was a victim of heartbreak. I dated a guy for three years, a guy whom everybody in my family knew as my would-be fiancé. We loved each other so much. I gave him my heart and everything I had, thinking I had found the right person. But all of a sudden, we had a little misunderstanding and that was the end of the relationship. After a long while, I regained my senses and since then I see all men as the same. Men are deceitful. I don’t think I will find love again after what I went through. They are heart breakers, sadists and un-appreciative. It is better to spare a snake than men. They are deadlier and more poisonous than other wild creatures.

CHRISTABEL SIMEON
Of course, yes. Life must remain meaningful and it must go on. Irrespective of what happens, I can always put the past behind me.

LOVETH BENJAMIN
It depends whose fault it was. But definitely with time, I would find love again. If he comes back to me I will bluntly tell him I’m no more interested. And luckily if I find someone, I will accept him.

TAIYE ADEDOYIN
Yes I can, although I have never been disappointed. But peradventure it happens; I definitely can find love again because every disappointment is always a blessing.

BLESSING A.
Going by my personal experience all men are deceivers and heart breakers. I was with a guy for eight remarkable and beautiful years. People saw us as already as husband and wife, but the man abandoned me for a cheap young girl, so to say. Although I’m looking forward to God to help me change my decision, but it’s not advisable to trust men. For now I don’t want to have anything do with men because their evil deeds surpass their good deeds. I only pray that God help me because people also say a woman is never complete without a man and vise-versa. If not for that, I would just be on my own.

MRS. JOSIAH COMFORT
Although there might be times when we don’t get what we thought we would get, but they are blessings in disguise. I remember the first man I dated. I loved him so dearly, but he never loved me the way I did. When he got promoted at his place of work, he saw me as inferior and dumped me. This was a man I assisted to get a job, paid his house rent, bought him clothes, amongst other things.

But when he got promoted he decided to look for an undergraduate. I almost died, the pain was so much to bear, my parents wanted to settle things for us, but he refused and snubbed everyone in my family.

I learnt he died of a charm popularly known as “magun.” In a nutshell, if I had ended up marrying him, he perhaps might have ended his life the same way he did, and he would have made me a widow and rendered his children fatherless.

So, for everything that happens we have to give thanks, whether good or the opposite. God has a way of making us escape death or misfortune in life.

NDIANAEFO CYNTHIA E.
The truth is that it is always painful when a woman looses or falls out of love. May be emotionally, mentally imbalanced. Women, as the case is, are simple hearted. We have no heart to accommodate so much pain, disappointment and hatred, That is why many women would always go back to their first love, no matter what happened in between them. But on the other hand, a responsible and reasonable man would hardly walk out on a woman without a reason. Sometimes, women are the cause of their own misfortunes. While men also have their faults in large proportion. Disappointment does not mean denial for life, life continues as time goes by. Everyone can always get back on love track, irrespective of the nature or gravity of the heart-break or damage caused, depending on individual’s decision or ideology towards issues and re-addressing them.

Life without a lover is incomplete; therefore women in such categories should re-examine themselves and polish what needs to be polished for a better and happy life.

If I find myself in this situation, I definitely will let go of the past and put myself together again. For example, women who are bereaved still find heart for another love, some make the determination never to marry again, this, though is not easy, but every woman always needs to be cared for.

OLAITAN ABUDIORE
Of course, I can always find love again. But it might take some before I can be able to cope with another relationship. The disappointment will still be fresh in my memory. Being dumped for one reason or the other does not limit life’s existence, no. Life must just continue.

CHUKWU PATIENCE
It would take between two and three years for me to probably accept another man into my life. This is so because I had already given my whole to someone. In case of heartbreak, I will need someone to bring the broken pieces together again. Though it will be difficult to trust the man, but I believe that with God, I will get over it. The truth is that every woman wants to be loved and cared for by someone. I will definitely move on with my life.
