Politics › Bandits Planning To Acquire Anti-Aircraft Missiles –Sheik Abubakar Gumi by Gjrich(op): 2:01pm On Feb 13, 2021
Influential Islamic cleric, Sheik Abubakar Gumi, has disclosed that bandits operating in the northern states forests are planning to acquire anti -aircraft missiles to repeal attacks by the military .
Gumi, who recently went into forests in Zamfara State, to discuss with the bandits who have killed and rendered many people homeless , said his interaction with the bandits showed that they engage in kidnapping and collection of ransom for the purpose of raising money to buy weapons .
Northern states have for long been under the siege of bandits who carry out relentless attacks on villagers , killing and maiming people , setting houses ablaze , and displacing villagers .

Only on February 6 , bandits reportedly killed 18 persons in an evening attack on the Birnin Gwari community of Kaduna State.
Gumi on his return from the forest called on government to grant amnesty to the bandits so they could drop their weapons .
While with the bandits , he said he was made to understand that the bandits took to crime to revenge the killing of their families by cattle rustlers and the military through airstrikes .

The cleric said this in an exclusive interview with Saturday PUNCH .
While explaining that the bandits were victims seeking justice , Gumi warned that it was important for government to meet with them urgently before they become religiously radicalised and uncontrollable like the Boko Haram insurgents .
The cleric said, “ These people were the first victims of cattle rustling , who lost all their cattle to rustlers because then, the rustlers were having the guns . Then when they lost their cattle, they joined ( the rustlers ) and they started to kidnap people .
“ In fact , most of the kidnappings , they ( the bandits ) are doing it to acquire weapons . They are now trying to buy missiles, anti-aircraft missiles. This is already developing into a full- blown insurgency and we should stop that . And what we are afraid of is that if they become religiously radicalised , it will give rise to another dimension , and it will be very difficult to control . You see what Boko Haram has become. ”
Gumi ruled out the possibility that the bandits were being sponsored by politicians or have foreign collaborators.
According to him , the bandits ’ sophisticated weapons were acquired with proceeds of kidnapping and not given to them by politicians or foreign collaborators.
He said, “ Like I said, they are collecting ransoms to buy weapons . Look at the herdsmen in Oyo and south eastern states. They are not buying skyscrapers or riding Mercedes ; they are still in the bush . They don’ t want money . They want their cows, not money. They are doing that ( kidnapping) to raise money just to buy weapons to repel helicopters and airplanes and to attack anybody that is going to attack them . You have to understand the psychology of these people . They are not like our governors that are stealing money . They don ’t want money . For them , cow is better than money .”
However, Gumi said he realised that the bandits have collaborators in the armed forces .
He said, “ They have collaborators everywhere – in the armed forces , everywhere . One of them said , ‘ Even this cattle rustling , we don’ t have trailers to transport cattle to where they are slaughtered . We don ’t have an abattoir . ’ So, there are people who are ( collaborating with them ) . Even the kidnapping of the people , they said , ‘ We don’ t know these people ; it is the people in town that will tell us a certain person has money .”

The cleric warned that if the government failed to act fast , banditry , which , for now , is largely limited to the North , would also spread to the South .
Gumi maintained that the best approach to solve the banditry problem was through dialogue and granting amnesty to the bandits rather than using military might .
He said, “ These people ( bandits ) know how to organise themselves and protect themselves and they have started attacking villages all around . Once you touch one of them , the whole of them will come together to attack a village . They mobilise themselves through the bush. So, it is not good to attack them , honestly speaking . The Hausa are suffering and they have therefore stopped attacking the Fulani herdsmen. So, we should not attack them . We should just pacify them and they are a very shy people . If you meet them , they are very shy . ”
The cleric called on the government to urgently engage the bandits in a dialogue , grant them amnesty and re -integrate them into society by building schools , hospitals and other amenities for them .
He added , “ When you offer them amnesty , they drop their weapons . Then you go in, build schools for them , build hospitals for them , get them censored ; get them registered ; then you can control ( them ) .
“ You can ’ t have access to them through the gun. Honestly , they know the terrain in the bush more than our military . So, it is better to negotiate with them .”
But Gumi’ s call has been widely rejected and criticised across the country .
Among those who rejected the cleric ’s amnesty proposal for the bandits were Kaduna State Governor , Malam Nasir El - Rufai, and his Niger State counterpart , Sanni Bello .
El - Rufai, in an interview with the
British Broadcasting Corporation , Hausa service , said the bandits were used to getting big money and would find it difficult to repent.
The Kaduna governor said his administration had no room for negotiations , adding that any bandit arrested in the state would be killed.
El - Rufai said , “ My administration is at war with the bandits and so we cannot negotiate . Eliminating them is the only solution to banditry .

“ I never believed that a Fulani herdsman who ventured into banditry and is collecting millions of naira as ransom will repent. I spoke to Dr Gumi, who is my friend . I explained that majority of these bandits don’ t believe in the religion . That is why they kill mercilessly .

“ Anybody who thinks a Fulani herdsman that was used to only getting N 100, 000 in a year after selling a cow , but now is getting millions through kidnapping for ransom will stop , is only wasting his time . ”
On his part , Bello , who spoke through his Commissioner for Information , Sani Idris , in an interview The PUNCH, said , “ We don ’t believe in what Gumi is doing ; it is not the solution to the insecurity problem in this zone . We are in full support of what the Kaduna State Government said and that is also our stand on the issue . ”

IPOB attack Information minister over amnesty for ex-bandits
Meanwhile, the Indigenous People of Biafra has faulted the Minister of Information and Culture , Alhaji Lai Mohammed, for reportedly supporting proposed amnesty for bandits .
Mohammed reportedly said , “ If granting amnesty to a warlord will lead to the surrendering of many others , I will take that decision .”

But IPOB , in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the minister was wrong to be advocating amnesty for those he described as “ murderous bandits ” while justifying the proscription of IPOB .
It minister ’s statement as the height of hypocrisy.
IPOB added that the world must hold the minister accountable for the atrocities of Fulani bandits and terrorists ravaging Nigeria .
The statement read in part ,” The Indigenous People of Biafra has noted with great amusement , a disgraceful statement credited to the Minister of Information , Lai Mohammed, that he supports amnesty for bandits .

“ Lai Mohammed should be ashamed of himself for advocating amnesty for murderous bandits but justifying proscription for peaceful agitators.
“ Lai Mohammed shamelessly justified Nigeria ’s black market proscription of a peaceful movement like IPOB instead ( of suporting the proscriotion ) of bandits and other terrorist groups terrorising the North and ravaging the South .

“ This is the height of hypocrisy! This latest reckless statement by no less a person than the Information Minister has confirmed our leader’ s position that Nigeria is a terrorist -sponsoring nation .

“ Nigeria is in bed with terrorists but up in arms against innocent citizens agitating for freedom . IPOB never declared any war against Nigeria or her citizens yet it was unilaterally proscribed and banned by government .
“ But bandits have been on a killing spree of innocent citizens of Nigeria yet the same government is seeking amnesty for the blood suckers . What a disgraceful irony !
“ Victims of Fulani bandits , herdsmen and terrorists have always borne the brunt alone without any succour from government .

“ The world must hold him accountable for the atrocities of Fulani bandits and terrorists ravaging Nigeria . When the chips are down the masterminds of terrorism in Nigeria must stand trial for their evil actions . ”

Politics › Fulani Herdsmen Kill OPC Member, Abduct Farmer And Demand Ransom In Ondo by Gjrich(op): 8:34am On Feb 13, 2021
Barely five days after the peace parley between Ondo State Government and Fulani herders, some suspected herders have killed a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Iju, Akure North Local Council.

The OPC member was identified as Mr. Adejuyigbe Daniel, while a farm owner, Mr. Segun Akinmeji, was also abducted by the herdsmen at his farm located at Okeji Farm Settlement in the town.

At press time, a source close to the farmer said the kidnappers had contacted the family demanding N60 million ransom.

A youth leader in the town, Mr. Ogundeji Ayodeji, said that the Fulani herdsmen had been terrorising the host community for a very long time through abduction, collection of ransom and killing of victims.

He revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday when Mr. Akinmeji went to his farm only to be reportedly abducted by some Fulani herdsmen while some other men with him escaped with bruises.

According to him, the incident made him summon youths and some OPC members in the town to organise a search team on Sunday morning to locate the victim in the bush and set him free from his abductors.

He, however, noted that their search was to no avail till Monday morning when they reported the case to the police division in the town and members of the South West Security Networks, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, to join the search party.

The Youth Leader mentioned that the two security agencies joined the search team and headed into the forest to rescue the abducted farmer but were engaged in a gun duel by the herders.

He said the search continued on Tuesday morning, as the group, numbering about 30, moved to the forest in batches, while the late Adejuyigbe headed to a separate direction to continue his search for the missing farmer.

He bemoaned that after the whole exercise, all search party members assembled but the late OPC member was not present, adding that this made them intensify more efforts to look for him.

He said his dead body was later found at a place where the local tent allegedly erected by the herders was located with his legs and hands tied and eyes blindfolded.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Tee Leo-Ikoro, who confirmed the incident, averred that investigation had commenced to unravel the killing and abduction of the late Adejuyigbe.

He said that the Commissioner of Police had ordered a manhunt for the suspected killer-herders.

Politics › Trouble For Fulanis As Yoruba Youths Set Their Houses On Fire In Ondo State by Gjrich(op): 3:27pm On Feb 10, 2021
Another Trouble Looms For Fulanis As Yoruba Youths Allegedly Set Their House On Fire In Ondo State.

The Ondo state government gave quit notice to Fulani herdsmen to leave all the forest in their state, another set of herdsmen set up a new house on the land where they were chased out before.

The majority of the youths in Ondo state have decided to reject any herdsmen plans to settle down on their father's land due to the way they were destroying their farms and the other atrocities they were committing.

These youths received a report that some herdsmen have been building new houses on land to resettle their cattle business there. Immediately after this report, they moved to that place in a mass, burning herdsmen's houses and chasing them away.

Christianity Etc › Herdsmen Crisis: Yoruba Nation Is Leaving Nigeria Soon – Pastor Adewale Giwa by Gjrich(op): 8:49am On Feb 10, 2021
Senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has said that the dream of people of the South West region to leave Nigeria would become a reality very soon.

Giwa called on president Muhammadu Buhari to caution his Fulani kinsmen from terrorizing Yoruba region and other parts of the country.

Giwa, while speaking with his church members on state of the nation in Akure on Tuesday, said the body language of president Buhari had further caused disunity, hatred and disharmony among the citizens in Nigeria.

He specifically said the president should expect events that would disintegrate Nigeria any time soon.

The cleric also noted that politicians had failed to fulfill their campaign promises to the people over the years.

This, Giwa said had made Nigerians not to have trust in their political leaders

He, however, advised Yoruba people to stand firm and unite with a view to getting their freedom from fulani government.

He said,” Yoruba people must unit if they really want to get their freedom from fulani leaders. I am sure some events will come naturally that will turn things around in Nigeria.

“Maybe you are wondering why everything is turning upside down in this country, ask the president and his political party.

“A bad tree cannot produce good fruits; APC is a party dominated by miscreants. Within five years, look at what the party has brought upon Nigerians.

“They brought calamity, hunger, insecurity among others to Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari’s body language has continued to give a certain ethnic group power to take over a land that does not belong to them.

“Despite the fact that they have no vision for Nigerians, they are encouraging and motivating Fulani herdsmen to kidnap and be killing our people.

“Yoruba people should expect events that will reshape the entire region any moment. Read your Bible as Christians. Who told you disintegration is a sin?

“There was division in the early Christian church, and there is still division among the churches today.

“We have Agape Church of God, Winners, Redeemed Christian Church, CAC, Awaiting Gospel Church among others. We all worship the same God, but different doctrines.

“Please, read Genesis Chapter 13 and tell me what happened between Abraham and Lot when their herdsmen were fighting each other.

“In the last 60 years, they have continued to share the resources meant for the poor among themselves.

“Division does not mean I cannot travel to the East, North or anywhere in the country. It’s just that each region will have its president and constitution because what they presently refer to as1999 constitution is a ruse.

“Nigeria can only be restructured through disintegration, and anything aside that is a waste of time.

“If they want the progress of Nigeria, they will make the citizens happy. What are they doing to convince us that they mean well for us?

“If we could have different churches today with different doctrines, what stops Nigeria from having three or more regions?

“They have turned most of our young graduate women to harlots in the streets. Parents can no longer send their children to schools anymore.

“If I have a Yoruba president in my region and he fails to fulfill his electoral promises, I will storm his office and challenge him.

“Can you travel from Akure to Abuja to challenge president Buhari who doesn’t understand your language?

“If a Yoruba president performs woefully, it is left to the people of that region to hold him responsible and accountable.”

Politics › Give Us Grants, We Are Ready For Ranching – Northern Governors Tell FG by Gjrich(op): 8:07am On Feb 10, 2021
The Northern Governors Forum has said the region is set to start cattle ranching as a means of curbing the incessant herders/farmers crisis in the North and other parts of the country.

Chairman of the forum, Simon Lalong, while speaking on Channels Television’s News @ 10, on Tuesday, noted that some states in the region were ready with land but need funds.

Lalong who is the Plateau State Governor, added that the they have been in support of ranching for quite some time.

The governor admitted that the rising insecurity in the northern region and other parts of the country, could be linked to cattle rustling.

Reacting to quit notices issued to Fulani herdsmen in some Southern parts of the nation recently, Lalong said the only way to restore normalcy is to establish ranching across the country.

“We were advising the federal government to also give grants to states that are ready with land.

“We are not saying that it is compulsory for states that are not ready. But many states in the North are ready.

“We need some grants to start so that these people will not be moving here and there. We need to also keep them in one place. It’s business. So definitely, that’s the only way to control the insecurity.”

Lalong, revealed that all stakeholders, including members of cattle herders associations across the country, were on board with the idea of ranching.

“But there is this lack of funds to the state, there is lack of encouragement to the state,” he said.

Politics › Threats Of Reprisals In The North Over Herdsmen’s Eviction - Northern Governor by Gjrich(op): 5:07pm On Feb 09, 2021
The NGF submitted that the current system of herding conducted mainly through open grazing was no longer sustainable in view of the growing urbanisation and large populations of the country.

The Northern States’ Governors Forum has said there are already threats of reprisals in the North over the ongoing eviction notices given to Fulani herdsmen in the South, adding that the forum is working hard to contain such threats.

The forum noted that it had resolved to “urgently meet” to discuss the issue holistically and look at the sources of conflicts between herdsmen and the southern communities.

The forum reached these conclusions during its emergency meeting held virtually to discuss issues affecting the region – a meeting presided over by its Chairman and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong.

It added that it would aggressively sensitise herdsmen to the need to adopt new methods of herding by ranching or other acceptable modern methods.

The governors, therefore, appealed to the Nigerian government to support states with grants to directly undertake pilot projects of modern livestock production that will serve as a springboard and evidence for breaking resistance to the full implementation of new methods of livestock production.

According to Daily Trust, the forum expressed concerns over the tension generated by the eviction order issued to herdsmen in some parts of the country. It is heating the already fragile security atmosphere.

It also said there were already ‘threats of reprisals” which the governors are working assiduously to contain.

The governors called for restraint from leaders, including those in the Southern parts of the country where passions are high.

Similarly, they called on all the “citizens of the North to continue to live in peace with all Nigerians irrespective of their origins and backgrounds”.

Also, they urged political leaders to segregate between criminality and social groups in their domains with a view to treating criminals like criminals. They condemned every form of “criminality whether from herders, hunters, or farmers occupying forest reserves illegally”.

A resolution was also reached to engage elders and youths in a robust discussion in order to douse the tension in the North, and a four-man committee was set up in that respect to be headed by the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum.
Agriculture › Nigerian Govt, This Is How To Rare Cows: Botswana Woman Displaying Her 900 Cows by Gjrich(op): 8:28am On Feb 09, 2021
It's so unfortunate, a country which is seen, regarded and respected as giant of Africa, is still struggling to find a lasting solution on how herdsmen can rare their cattles peacefully without having problems with farmers after making a mess on their land.

The most confusing part of it all is that a large number of people have lost their precious life all in the name of dispute between herders and farmers and it seems that the Nigerian Government are helpless on how to go about the matter.

Currently, there is a rising tention in the whole of the Southern part of Nigeria, this is something nobody can deny, the tention have escalated to a point where noticed are being sent to Fulani herdsmen to vacate the South, and the reason behind it all is the inability of the Nigerian Government to find a lasting Solution between farmers and herders on how everyone can go about their business peacefully without being attack or killed.

In other to have a guideline on how to go about it, a picture has gone viral on the internet, about a Botswana Woman called Betty Kgathi, who is a retired nurse and also an active cattle farmer who has over 900 cows in her farm, and farmers in her country are not having sleepless nights due to how she was able to manage her business peacefully without destroying people's farm.

Due to how organized Betty Kgathi is in her vow business, Her farm became EU (European Union) Certified & Audited which automatically allows her to be selling them to EU Market.

Politics › I Will Not Negotiate With Bandits – El-rufai Counters Sheikh Gumi by Gjrich(op): 5:06pm On Feb 08, 2021
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, has called on the Federal Government to give states air and ground forces to fight against banditry, kidnapping and other criminal menace.

El-Rufai made the call while declaring that his administration would not support or recognise any reconciliatory moves with bandits in the state.

The governor’s comment comes a few days after popular Kaduna-based cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, had made a move with bandits and kidnappers in the state.

Gumi had urged the federal government to grant amnesty to bandits.

However, El-Rufai while speaking on BBC Hausa Service said: “If the Federal Government does not give us the air and ground forces, these forests are invaded and these terrorists are killed at the same time, then we will continue to be in trouble.

“We in Kaduna are cooperating with Niger State. The governor of the state calls from time to time to gather information.
We are doing things with them.”

Politics › It's Sad Makinde Has Done Nothing About Wakili Killing Oyo People —sunday Igboho by Gjrich(op): 10:25pm On Feb 07, 2021
Yoruba rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, has urged the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, to order the immidiate arrest of a suspected Fulani criminal, Iskilu Wakili, said to be terrorising residents of Ayete, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state.

Residents of Ibarapa area have alleged that Wakili recruited over 100 Fulani people with sophiscated weapons to terrorise them.

Igboho, in an interview on Sunday, said there were many misconceptions about him, adding that Wakili must be driven out of Ibarapa forest.

“Yes, the people are living in fear. They are afraid that Fulani people might attack them and that is being done by one Isikilu Wakili. He has turned himself into terror and authority in the area and nothing is being done to address the situation.

"We heard about this two months ago and like I said, nothing is being done to address it. If the governor hears about Wakili killing our people, harassing them and plundering their farm and yet little or nothing is being done, it is sad. We expected the governor to direct the security agencies to smoke him out but there is virtually no action,” he said.

Politics › State Police, Best Option To Tackle Insecurity — National Assembly by Gjrich(op): 9:43pm On Feb 07, 2021
Some members of the National Assembly have called for the establishment of a state police system, noting that it remains the only solution to insecurity situation across the country.

The senators, who spoke with the Punch, also allayed the fears of possible abuse of the structure by state governors.

A senator from Plateau State, Istifanus Gyang, said it was obvious that effective policing could no longer be guaranteed with the current federal structure of the Nigeria Police Force.

He said, “We have called for the alterations of the constitution to make for the creation of the state police to meet up with the challenges of the time.

“It is obvious that the current federal structure has not been able to effectively combat crime and criminality.

“We need to carry out the alterations of the constitution to empower states to establish the police command across the country so that the state chief executive and the legislature at that level would be able to effectively address the issue of crime and criminality.

“Some people have exercised fears over the possible abuse of such power but we have a state legislature which is expected to act as a check.

“We should allow the system to start and grow over time. We cannot out of fear refuse to progress as a people."

The spokesperson for the Senate, who is representing Osun Central in the red chamber, Senator Ajibola Basiru, said there was no way insecurity across the country could be effectively neutralised without the help of state police.

He said, “ I am fully in support of it. I have a bill on it. It is before the ad hoc Committee on Constitution Review; it has passed second reading.

“We cannot tackle insecurity in Nigeria without the creation of state police.

“The argument that governors would use it to oppress people is even insulting the sensibility of our people.

“How can you call governors state security officers without the power to control the security apparatus of the state.

“The states have courts, they should have their own police too. If the establishment of state police would lead to oppression, can’t they use the courts to also oppress the people?

“The argument of abuse can be countered by the rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights."

Also speaking, the senator representing Kogi West, Smart Adeyemi, said both state and local government police should be established for effective policing of communities.

He said, “The idea of a state police is almost inevitable now but we must streamline it so that they won’t use it to oppress the people.

“Every local government must also have its own police. I do not support state police without local government policing because the local governments constitute the state.

“The people who really know the local government are the natives. I am in support of local government police under the supervision of the state government and their operation must be clearly defined.

“They must be totally independent, and their jobs should be to tackle insecurity.

“Every state operates vigilante and hunters group. We cannot run a unitary security system because of our ever-increasing population.

“For a complex and diverse nation like Nigeria, we should relieve the Federal Government of the pains of policing every nook and cranny of the country.

“There should be state and local governments police with defined structures and functions that would not be abused.

“There should be a state police commission that will be independent of the state government that would not be abused.

“We can’t be hiding under one finger; we can’t pretend, every state in Nigeria is facing security challenge.

“The major problem confronting the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government today is insecurity. We must be courageous enough to tackle it.”

Meanwhile, senators Ali Ndume (Borno) and Abba Moro from (Benue), kicked against the establishment of state police. They instead suggested the need to strengthen the current unitary system of policing.

Ndume said, “The problem is not about state police. The creation of state police will not solve insecurity, rather the Nigeria Police Force should be strengthened to do their job well.”

Moro said, “ I am not in support of state police. It will be abused by some governors. Recognition should be given to vigilantes and other community-based security outfits to provide useful information to the police.”

Politics › Okonjo-iweala Projected To Lead WTO As Korean Candidate Withdraws by Gjrich(op): 4:15pm On Feb 05, 2021
Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, who is also a US citizen, Ngozi Okonjo_Iweala, now has a clearer path to becoming the leader of the World Trade Organization (WTO) after rival Korean Trade Minister, Yoo Myung-hee withdrew her bid in the race.

Yoo decided after discussions with the U.S. and other major nations, and took various issues into account including the need to revitalize the multilateral organization, according to a statement from Korea’s trade ministry on Friday.

“There was no consensus,” Yoo said. “So we needed enough time for in-depth consultations with important members, including the U.S.”

Nigeria's Okonjo-Iweala Projected to lead WTO as Korean Candidate Withdraws Yoo Myung-hee US trying to Scuffle Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's Ambition at WTO.

Yoo Myung-hee withdrawal comes after dozens of former U.S. government officials urged President Joe Biden to endorse Okonjo-Iweala after the Trump administration blocked her selection in 2020, making the U.S. and Korea the only holdouts favoring Yoo. That opposition was enough to halt the selection process because WTO decisions are made on the basis of a consensus of its members.

By quitting the race, Yoo would appear to be clearing Okonjo-Iweala’s path to secure the leadership of the Geneva-based institution. But as the Biden administration forms its trade team, few clues have emerged publicly about whether it will lift U.S. opposition to Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy. The U.S. mission at WTO headquarters didn’t immediately respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment.

Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, 66, listed as one of the most influential people on earth by Forbes, was appointed into the board of social media giant, Twitter Inc in 2018.

Mrs Okonjo-Iweala also served in the administration of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, and was appointed alongside Robert Zoellick as new independent directors with Twitter.

Politics › Negotiate With Fulani Bandits, Grant Amnesty To Them–sheikh Gumi Tell Buhari by Gjrich(op): 8:53am On Feb 05, 2021
A renowned Islamic scholar, Ahmed Muhammad Gumi has urged the federal and state governments to grant amnesty to repentant bandits, saying that there will be serious bloodshed and merciless killings if the government and security agencies continue to engage the bandits on operation fire-for-fire.

Addressing newsmen at the chamber of the Government House in Gusau, the state capital, sheikh Gumi explained that the late President Musa Yar’Adua granted amnesty to militants in the South-South zone and went extra mile to create the ministry of Niger Delta Affairs which sheikh Gumi said calmed down the tensed situation.

“Negotiations remain the best option for conflict resolution. Negotiations settled the grievances of the militants in the South-South so president Buhari should borrow from that ideology to end terror attacks in his own government,” sheikh Gumi added.

According to Sheikh Gumi, almost all the heinous crimes in Nigeria are being perpetrated by the unemployed youths who have no defined means of livelihood for a number of years, pointing out that a hungry man is an angry man.

The Islamic scholar who visited some of the bandits dens and hideouts in Zamfara state said that the Fulani unrepentant bandits tabled some of their grievances which they said have not been addressed by the state government.

He said that the Fulani unrepentant bandits demanded for justice in dealing with the Fulani people, saying that both the security agencies and the outlawed Yansakai members have classified the Fulani people as third-class citizens in a country that belongs to every body.

The Islamic scholar explained that the Fulani unrepentant bandits also lamented that mere seeing any Fulani herdsman with a car or motorcycle has become a serious crime against the security agencies and the outlawed Yansakai members as they would seize the car or motorcycle from the Fulani herdsmen describing them as bandits or kidnappers.

Sheikh Gumi noted that the same Fulani unrepentant bandits also complained that during their meetings with the state government on peace accord and reconciliation, all the promises that were made by the state government did not reach the Fulani herdsmen as the kind gestures were being hijacked by the middle men between the Fulani herdsmen and the state government.

“In some of our communities, there is no potable drinking water, no accessible road, no good health care delivery service or any form of social facility and until the state government addresses these problems, we will not embrace the peace accord and reconciliation” the unrepentant bandits lamented.

The Islamic scholar, therefore, called on the state government to as a matter of urgency ensure judicious distribution of any right that belongs to the Fulani people in the state, stressing that hijacking of their rights will aggravate the already existing tension in the state.

“There is nowhere that peace can reign without justice and if there is justice, the federal and state governments would not have been wasting huge amount of money to quell banditry in the state”

But what we should know is that not all fulani are criminals. Yes we have the wright to voice out our frustration but please we should do the right thing and not allow a problem grow into serious disaster. The eviction of all fulanis will grow to all northerners which will sparkle a retaliation targeting yorubas. At the end we all loss while the evil onces among the fulanis that start all of these madness will have nothing to loss. They live in these kind of chaotic environment normally.but you and I have alot to loss. Let's use our senses not first. Politics › Herdsmen Crisis: Why Tinubu Is Afraid To Speak Up – Shehu Sani by Gjrich(op): 3:17pm On Feb 04, 2021
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has revealed why the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is mum over the ongoing crisis rocking Southwest region.

Recall that some southwest leaders had issued quit notice to Fulani herdsmen in the area.

The development led to serious crisis in Oyo State, with some feared dead and many valuables reportedly destroyed.

In all the development, Tinubu, who is said to be eyeing the presidency in 2023 has maintained sealed lips, a development Sani believes, was deliberate.

According to Sani, if Tinubu, fondly called the Jagaban speaks up, it may cost him many things, including his cap and shoes.

He tweeted, “If the Jagaban opposes eviction, he will lose his shoes; if the Jagaban supports eviction, he will lose his cap.
Just wear your thick mask and off your phone our leader.”

"Why Is Hisbah Disgracing Islam?"-Aisha Yesufu Fumes Over The Arrested Police Inspector And Barber in Kano.

Aisha Yesufu has described these Hisbah's acts as tyrannical, barbaric and transgressive. She challenged them to arrest parents for not taking care of their children and sending them to beg called Alimajiris. And why are they not arresting fathers that are not paying child support? Aisha queries!

This a big disgrace to the country which could be blamed on the failure of leaders. Nothing peaceful has ever come out of the Northern part of the country! Or is nigerian islam different for other climes?

Why is hisbah bent on disgracing Islam? Aisha Yesufu asked this burning question after she was tagged to the disturbing story of Elijah Adudu, a promising young man from Benue who resides in Kano State for his study.

The young man who barbs to live and sustain his study was arrested after two of his customers were caught with a hairstyle deemed blasphemous to their Islamic religion!

This is exactly what I tweeted this morning and a dude said they aren’t disgracing Islam. It is high time Hisbah should stop tagging Islam to their rubbish acts.

Those police men need to be arrested. Where in Nigerian constitution can we find such offense? What is happening in Northern region? It's better Northerners have there own country!

I have never in my life seen a setback group of confused elements like Northern people. They always embarass the couny in the name of religion..!

Politics › Islamic Group, Hisbah Arrest Police Inspector For Buying Beer In Kano State by Gjrich(op): 2:26pm On Feb 04, 2021
According to saharareporters,

A police officer renowned as OC Gulder who is also a Christian and manages the police mess at Panshekara, Mopol 52 in the Sharada area of Kano state, has been arrested by the Kano State Islamic Police Corps, Hisbah and Kano State Road Traffic Authority (KAROTA).

According to the report, the officer who is an inspector of police usually visits the Sabon Gari town to buy beer and other items who he sells at the police mess he manages. This time, the KAROTA had traced the officer to the town where they arrested him and handed him to Hisbah with the allegation of supplying a 1000 crates of beer to a seller in the state.

However, a source who was an eye witness revealed that the police officer was a Christian who comes to but and resell beer and the police mess and that he wasn't a supplier. More so, as a Christian, he has the liberty to drink beer hence he is not an Islam.

The police officer who is an inspector has the right to decide on whether to take alcohol or not. He is over 18 years which is the age limit to take decision and no one has the right to trample on his freedom and right. More so, he is more in rank as a federal agency when compared to a state agency like Hisbah, at least that little respect should have been accorded to him.

It was just few days ago that the Kano State Hisbah Corps arrested a barber from Benue State by name Elijah Ode, for allegedly making a haircut for his customers which was against the Islamic faith, and now another arrested has been done to a police officer.

superjab:
The yorubas are already trapped in a serious dilemma, how can they evict the killer herdsmen from their midst.

The yorubas culture of accommodation had landed them in their present predicament hence I fear they have to live with this plaque for the rest of their lives, that's what hypocrisy and betrayal had led them into. When ipob started agitating the yorubas joined hands with the evil Fulani government to attack ipob members, but unfortunately ipob grew to become a force to be reckoned with and a major obstacle to the fulani caliphate government. What igbos saw in 1967 it's now the yorubas are starting to feel a glimpse of it.

But we can't continue to live in acrimony with the yorubas, because that's what will keep the fulanis to wax stronger and tighten their grip.i have forgiven the yorubas and I urge all my fellow igbos to join hands with me to forgive the yorubas and support them as they struggle to get herdsmen from their lands.

If you yorubas want to secure your lands, the solution is not amotekun,it's not your obas or ooni,it's not afenifere it's not tinubu,it's not APC/PDP,it's not 2023 presidential slots,it's not your representatives and governors in government,it is yorubas that should rise and set up a well equipped and heavily armed millitia comprised mostly of Yoruba recruits, send them into the bushes/forests and communities and let them flush out these herdsmen from Yoruba land even if it requires them to engage the already compromised Nigeria army as they defend their land, they have to do it fiercely and bravely just as it happened in orlu, thats the only solution because if you wait for your governors and amotekun to save yorubas, yorubas will wait till enternity and witness their land completely colonised right before their eyes just as gobir was colonised and renamed sokoto by fulani Invaders

Yorubas better wake up and see the handwriting of doom on the wall

“We won’t tolerate any iota of killer Fulani herdsmen menace in the East. You may be comfortable with your wretched Fulanised existence where you are but we won’t live with that rubbish in the land of the Rising Sun. Where were you when our people were being slaughtered, raped and kidnapped in Isiukwuato? Talkative lunatics like Aisha Yusuf.”

In his statement, he also noted that ESN would start the implementation of its own anti-open grazing law in the South-East, as earlier said last week.

“In less than two weeks, #ESN will commence the full enforcement of Nigeria’s Anti-Grazing Law in the East. Turn into a cow then and see what shall become of you. You are about to understand how determined we are. You have the temerity to talk about the monopoly of violence?
