Yayy, I have an e toaster!!! Must commend @Jovie for showing good taste but u c, I'd luv to keep my personal life details out of NL, sorrry. @ topic - there's still a missing novel, can u let us no which it is? Merci |
@ vladimiros , I agree wit ur statement below, esp the faith without works part but 2good keeps attributing it to God which is not true. The way pple dey practise christianity in Nig is giving pple an erroneous point of view of true christianity. #Nuff said vladimiros: eventhough you are athiest I agree on that part.. |
vladimiros: said it all, that one that annoys me, why not take responsibilty?I dunno, if u don't hustle, how's God goin bless ur hustle. The annoyin stuff is that it's not Biblical which brings us back to ur 1st post - reading the Bible wit understanding. Provs 6 talks bout the sluggard n asks the sluggard to learn from the ant in not so nice words. Go to the ant thou sluggard...how long will thou sleep. There's anoda verse that says the sluggard is evn 2 lazy to put food in his mouth n d one I like best -He that's slothful in his work is brother to him that's a great destroyer. i might be wrong but I think that wen the Prosperity movement started in Naija, a lot of emphasis was placed on confessions n mayb sowin n somehow hardwork n its attendant benefits were neglected. With churches like Pstr Poju's n Daystar, it appears to be gettin betta. Don't wanna bore u since u hate long winded churchy stuff ![]() 2good: Exactly at the bolded and coloured. Religion tells people that god is the one that determines what will be and that what ever effort they(religionist) put into their life doesn't matter since god is the one that giveth and taketh. Its just all about living your life in self denialCan't argue for religion but my Bible don't tell me stuff like dt - It says be not deceived, God is not mocked wteva a man soweth that'll he reap. If u sow to the flesh, u'll reap corruption. |
My mum does this all the time...Growin up, I'd say mum, I've arranged ur room or any worthy task I felt i'd completed n I'll ask her to pay, she'll ask if i paid her for carrying me for 9 mths. Till date, she believes dt all money carelessly kept in d house is hers as we (her kids) never pay am finish. |
lol @over religiosity In Naija, evrybori is a Pastor/ Deacon/ Evangelist wit no proof. Wen, it comes to money matters n I hear u no I'm a man of God, alarm bells start ringing. Me, I don't hav a problem if u call God from morn to night but wen unbelievers r better behaved than u, it makes me shudder. Some of the over doin that annoy the heck out of me: 1. Not reading for exams n claiming God's promises. There was one chick in the uni, she'd miss classes n be tellin me that she has to God's work in final yr o. During exams, she'll start copying n I'm thinking does doing God's work give u a rt to cheat. 2. Blaming everythin on d devil n attacks: Not sayin dr's no devil o, but wt bout wen the non religious person is workin hard, u loafing around then turn round to start binding. 3. Passing off ur personal opinion as spiritual advise. Na so insult they start, mtchewww |
Yinka Body line on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi. House of Tara shd also stock it...think, they have an Ikeja office |
I think clinique has a cleanser for combination skin...then u'd need a water based moisturizer |
I use Black up...it works. Y'u can gerrit @ La montaigne spa in VI or at their shops in Shoprite VI or Surulere. Hav u tried using a mattifier, helps 2 |
u try wella...mowa thoroughly impressed ![]() Can rememba the this is our chance book faintly...twas a small bk of 3 plays (can only rememba 2 plays). London, Paris, Milan v.expensive but it was worth it was one of the famous quotes. Then, the 2nd story I can rememba's bout some grand pa that his grand kids were mean 2, somehow he got them convinced that he had loads of cash n wld b dyin soon. The antics d grandkids got up to were totally ridiculous - combin his hair, scratching his back n @ d end they were scammed - no show ![]() Wonder, where I can get the bk, sef |
@ jmoore - Not sure, what ur point is, kindly clarify It takes d grace of God for one to be saved from sin - murder, fornication etc. I get ur point that some peeps make excuses, true. Howeva, I still believe that it takes the grace of God for one not to commit sin (pre/post marital sex affairs, lying etc). My point is that every1 has a weakness - Moses' was anger, Solomon's was women. It would take the special grace of God for Solomon not to have been adulterous. I'm talking about christians who really want to b in God's gd books n not those lip - servicing. |
Silas Marner This is our chance Go tell it on the mountain |
Agree
yes, it does. @ topic
Yes, it's purely by grace...somewhere in Romans (I think ), Paul says the good I'd like to do, I find myself not doing n vice versa. N there's this other verse - for by grace r we saved not by works lest anyman shd boast. Rememba, in Hebrews there's smthg called besetting sins, so if fornication is a besetting sin, it might take the grace of God to overcome but it can be overcome. |
It is well means the earth's bout to collapse on me I am strong means I am scared I may neva recover from this illness |
I guess this is tongue-in-cheek, right ![]() C'mon we're not that bad...Kim Kardashian, marriage role model, ke? U must be kiddin!!! |
Hey mothers, not sure I av d ryt words but yu guys have to protect ur daughters, abeg. Nobody shd b trusted. These pervs don't sound like their crazy appetites r not being met so all I can say is that Since the hunter has learnt to shoot wtout missing, then d bird has to learn 2 fly wtout perching..... |
Wow! I thot affairs involved a cheating spouse...doesn't seem like an affair to me if it's altar bound |
Not everybody in Naija has internet access n some ppl who do feel that bankin over the internet is insecure y should they increase the branch network are you not aware of Electronic platforms and internet banking? You should better stop risking ur self in the bank and also stop spending valuable time in bank queques...In the next decade there might be no need for any brick and mortar branches anymore! BTW i do visit my branh whenever i want to set my eyes on those skimply dressed marketers..
I'm a GTB fan...it's been a consistent brand. Has birthed Access which is doin quite well IMO |
Main reason Y the economy shouldn't be so freaking oil dependent...oil isn't the only commodity priced in dollars, abi? We also need to be less import dependent. This just boosts the demand for dollars n d law of DD and SS steps in. Quite tired of preaching to the choir!!! |
I disagree. In addition to freshdude's points, I've noticed that sometimes first borns act as test tubes for a family n sometimes do not have the same opportunities the younger ones may have, possibly due to finance. Y'u no 1st borns typically come when the family is just starting. I also do not think any child is more brilliant than any other as every child is blessed with individual talents n personalities. A child may not excel in maths but may b fantastic in art...does ds mean the child who's mathematically savvy is more brilliant than the artist? I vote No but Yes, mayb in Naija where book knowledge is the only type dt counts |
@op, I'm exactly like u - neva been able to get the pt of playin hard 2 get. It's so annoyin esp because evn wen u tell guys no, cos they've been fed the belief that u're playing hard 2 get, they'll intensify efforts ![]() IMO, one's best bet if u're in Naija is to practise the 'he chased me till I caught him' concept, cos immature guys wen u don't play hard 2 get will turn round 2 call u cheap . Na so we c am |
2 cliches 4 ya - Talk is cheap n actions speak louder than words, yu hear |
It's ok to ask for a godfearin sombori wen u r godfearin urself...unfortunately, in Naija the more pple call God, the more I dey fear ![]() |
The best way 2 impress anyone is by being urself n being comfortable in ur own skin. Instead of 'acting' being impressive, y not become impressive 24-7 ![]() |
MEAN! ![]() horny4u: Want to keep her for yourself ....?@OP - She's not ur GF...KEEP SEARCHING!!! |
I'd say Yes - a person's behaviour and attitude is a product of his life's experiences n background. How u r influenced by ur background is dependent on the kind of person u r. U might be a better person inspite of u havin a bad background esp if u find ur background revulsive. Okonkwo in Things fall apart is a gd example, he refused to be like Unoka his lazy father or try children of pastors who despise their parents n find them boring. If on the other hand, you buy into ur parents' lifestyle, u'd do ur best to replicate their lifestyle. So to ans ur question, how a person's family background affects his relatnship will be determined by the person's perceptn of d background. I think every1 deserves a chance, irrespective of their background . |
I don't know how u guys r so sure Becky's lying. Fact is d guy's insecurity might evn b fueled by finance, u no all d gist bout undergrads n aristo runs, esp if he's financially handicapped..at the risk of being labeled a feminist, relatnships actually require efforts from d male n female parties #jstsaying. Cos now u've accused her of being a cheat n parasite yet ignored her BF's self control issues... The problem of d naija female |

are you not aware of Electronic platforms and internet banking?
where book knowledge is the only type dt counts
. Na so we c am
