Ndipe: The killing of Ikemefuna, Okonkwo drinking palm wine or liquid from a human head, spousal beatings and the caste system all reinforces the notion that Africans are a bunch of savages. Would you agree with me or not?
Don't agree with u, the killing of Ikemefuna was regarded as a lesser sin (can't remember the exact words). In fact, Okonkwo was advised - don't have a hand in that boy's death, he calls you father. Spousal beating wasn't exactly encouraged. Remember, when Okonkwo was dressed as a masquerade n the villagers brought cases for judging, there was a guy who used to beat his wife who was condemned by the elders/ masquerades.

I'm not sure bunch of savages is the right word. I honestly think TFA made it clear that there was an existing society with a rich and diverse culture pre the missionaries. True, some stuff were wrong as you rightly pointed out but ditto for the colonial masters. Racism and the colonization of Africa bear alarming similarities to the caste system. Spousal abuse exists also in the West.

Isn't marriage becoming the scariest ish ever? sad

Your responsibility IMO is to ur kids first. Pls, get a divorce...at least u'll get some alimony. I'd have suggested a seperation but I doubt paddy would remain financially responsible for his kids under this scenario.

Today, its STD, 2moro it could be AIDS n who'll take care of ur children.

Please, expose ur husband in the church. The level of hypocrisy is sickening. Of course, depending on his financial contribution, they might just turn a deaf ear.

Also, stop referring to those ladies as ur friends, friends ko, friends ni. If they encourage his flirtin with them n sleeping as well, they ain't ur friends!!!!

I'm afraid I'm with Area Boy on this. Unfortunately, dreams, visions et al r sometimes stimulated by ur sub conscious. Eccl 5:7 says out of the multitude of dreams n many words, there's vanity. This might b the case if you r lonely or have held him up to b some form of standard.

Its so good lovin somebodi, wen somebodi luvs yu back....Does he luv U? I think not as he'd av tried 2 kip in touch if he did.

At 33, u'd best move on, which is wat I'll tell my friend. If u're convinced it's God (I never argue wit any1 who says he/she heard from God), I'll say you shd mayb prayerfully agree wit God a timeframe in which ur ex comes back or yu move on. I'm curious tho, av u bin chillin 3 yrs for him?

@ Obasi, I'm not familiar with ds meaning of bastard O. To the best of my knowledge, a bastard is defined by the oxford dictionaries as
'archaic or derogatory: a person born of parents not married to each other. '
http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/bastard

However, I only quoted dt verse cos u asked for a verse. Cos that same chapter also forbides Moabites from also coming into the temple, but He allowed Ruth the Moabitess to become an ancestor to Jesus. I guess, God's always been forgiving even in the Old Testament.

Per your points in ur last post, I kind of get where u're coming from. I hate seeing lonely old people - it makes me pray for my own future, truthfully. But, I'd like to understand is it only when u have a child from your womb, that the child becomes yours. I asked earlier, what of adoption? You can even adopt a baby. I mean Jesus wasn't conceived from Joseph's sperm, but he was referred to as Joseph's son.

What if, when u're having the sexual affair to give birth to the child, the rapture happens?

be a christian. Research the bases of you faith, one that came many thousands years before that which of your fore father's. The in brought to Africa by those who took your forefathers slavery.... you believe in their god. I believe in what as proven to work and manifest and was around at thee inception of earth not come white man's faith to indoctrinate and emasculate their people, victims and followers. A faith with a 'men-made' manuscript / book of 'doctrines' aka 'The Holy Bible', that empowers men but deameans and constrain women. I can say much more but that is up to you to discover on your own.

[s]My advise to you, don't waste your life living and waiting on EMPTY PROMISES[/s].
Thanks Rolaake, whatever rocks your boat. I also disagree that the Holy Bible demeans and constrains women. But, you're entitled to ur opinion

Eyah Pele Pagan, Y the aggression

My religion is not failed and does not work for money making schemes. Prosperity in the Bible is all round - soul, health, financial etc IIIJohn:2 - I wish above all things that thou mightest prosper n be in health even as thy soul prospereth .

As per the Mamalawo, I'd urge yu to read the thread title again, it reads - Babalawos n Mamalawos in Lag. Wrt the correct name, trust me, I'm really not interested.

There are also a lot of motherless/ abandoned children needing adoption. What stops the women in their 40s and 50s from adopting these kids and giving them love?

Well, to ans your question, u've said urself that the Bible frowns on fornication and adultery, we can conclude that He's not exactly in support of its associated acts such as giving birth out of wedlock. Deut 23:2 says A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord: even unto his tenth generation....

However, this is the era of grace - the NT and I can assure you that God's arms are open wide to all n sundry, even moi

Islam › Re: Is 70 Days Fasting Extremism? by Gloriagee(f): 11:53am On Aug 05, 2012
What will be referred to as extremism would always differ from person to person. As long as the fasting is voluntary and at the option of the person fasting, then I don't c how it can be termed as extreme. If it doesn't pose a health risk and u're not being manipulated into it, I bliv it's ur right of choice.

The only church I no dt does 70 days fasting is MFM and on some days, you fast till 2 PM. If u don't buy into this approach, then again it's ur choice not to attend d church n if you're insistent on attending, ur choice not to fast.

Yu hav to identify Y u're unable to say I luv u. If its cos u have no feelings for him, is there any chance dt u'll develop feelings for him? If no, let the guy go so it doesn't appear u're leading him on.

If u're unable to say yu luv him evn tho u do because of ur prior experiences, I'd advise u to listen to ur heart - u said urself that he's really into u. Not evry guy would take u for granted or throw ur luv back at ur face (if ur refusal to say yu luv him is caused by ur fears). Gdluck
