Politics › Re: Northern Bishops Who Met Tinubu, Not Under PFN — Bakare by Goke7: 12:04am On Sep 26, 2022 |
Ken4Christ: It's not about whether they belong to PFN or not. After all, churches that identify with PFN are not up to 10% of the churches in Nigeria. Most ministeries are lone rangers. They prefer to be on their own.
What PFN should do is work out the modality to reach out to as many churches as possible and let them see reasons why they should not support the Muslim Muslim ticket.
But pride will not let them do it. They are not good in winning new members. Even most of the old members are living because of the politics they play in the guise of PFN. Jagaban has a lot of goodwill among many prominent pastors in Nigeria, no matter how hard PFN or CAN campaign against him, he will still get a lot of support from the Christian community. |

naptu2: It is a well known fact that some posts on this site are not based on common sense, but rather, people are commenting based on their biases.
Sensible people in Nigeria know that when a seaport is built, a naval base is also built in order to protect the vessels and facilities that are associated with the port. They also know that most airports in Nigeria have an air force wing for similar reasons.
Even if we want to pretend that they are not so smart, at least they should have learned from the subsequent posts on this thread. The second and third posts refer to the dredging of the river and the siting of a gas industrial park.
But let's just pretend that they are not smart enough and that they really mean what they post. They actually know bruv, they are just angry when the leaders they don't like or hate are actually the ones attracting the required infrastructure for development cos it makes nonsense of their political anger against such leaders. Another example is the 2nd Nigeria bridge where they try to ascribe the success of that infrastructure to even those that never did anything about it. Na their way, if it was their own person that they like that did this, they will praise him to high heavens but alas no be their person. |

kettykin: What oguta needs is refinery and petrochemical industry and not naval base . Of what economic benefit is a naval base that would be giving Fulani herdsmen coverage to Imo state and oguta.
Why are igbo politicians commissioning useless projects .
Refinery Will Keep boys out of the street and not naval base you need a naval base to protect any oil and gas facility that would be sited. Be grateful for once, a naval base is an FG presence you guys complained does not exist in the SE. |

If you're working and earning a regular income, a TV licence is not a big deal, why give yourself unnecessary stress about what to watch when you can just pay for the damn thing and watch what you want on any device any day or time. It doesn't worth all the long conversations here. You can either pay £159 at once or you pay monthly. Additionally, you can use the license for other things like proof of address. And if you don't earn a regular income or you're not buoyant enough to pay for the license, why have a TV in the first place?
Finally, in these days of online entertainment and sports, there's no way you will not watch an online live event for which a TV licence is also needed. Get a TV licence and enjoy yourself to the fullest, simple. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Appoints Akeredolu As Southwest Campaign Coordinator by Goke7: 11:16pm On Sep 19, 2022 |
kafeii123: What you're saying about them all....is true...but you'll agree with me...that at least there's one of them on whom no single stain of corruption has yet been found and stuck... he's not in the ruling party..so if he has skeletons.. I'm sure they would have released it to the open
if we keep voting for our grandfathers...when will it be our own turn.... Tinubu and majorly Abiola were part of those who financed Abacha's coup... while Buhari himself was one of Abacha's right hand men then....
Atiku's corruption is also well established...starting frim his time in customs...to selling national assets etc... I feel these two need to rest...if Tinubu wins.. and Nigeria doesn't get better...cos I don't see any chance that it will....unless if it's not this crop of APC "technocrats" that gets appointed and there's high chance they'll be the ones...then the southwest becomes shamed... just like the north is now being riled for leading us into hell...
The international community will never take us serious...... and our rep is currently more than bad..as it is now....
It's not about if there's a saint amongst them...but I'll prefer a leader we can shout on... and expect him to listen to us...than one who would keep quiet.. even when we're being killed... Fasoranti's daughter was murdered in Ondo by children of mere cattle herders..... How can a boy whose only expense..is the food his parents have given him since birth..murder another one whose parents have not only served this country and region meritoriously...but have also invested huge sums.. raising that child..... And nothing happened......neither tinubu..nor akeredolu could utter a word.. simply because they're seeking the presidency.. if it had been GEJ...even Soyinka who didn't know any chibok citizen personally...let alone being related to or just evn knowing any of the abducted chibok girls ..could rile his mouth .. and nothing was done to him...
I prefer the iboman in this instance.. cos with him in Aso rock... southwesterners would be more than able to talk...if there's notice of any foul play in e.g. appointments... But if tinubu enters.. and they armtwist him into going against the Yorubas interests..no one wld be able to talk..after all na our pikin dey dia... moreover...we don't have any assurance..that he'll be able to finish two terms well...or that they'll allow another southwesterner finish his term..Incase he's unable to do so .. they'll just pay a few guys up.... and the tune will change..
Same way northerners are finding it hard to cry out now... despite losing their children to rampaging bandits and terrorists...it was easier for them... when it was a foreigner ruling... now they must observe table manners...
This is my issue...the easterner will work hard to better the country..cos his reelection will be hinged on him performing....if any of these others get there..na "this is our turn" mentality e go be... and we will have to just wait .. praying for their tenure to elapse in time... without being able to be accountable
Maybe we should return to the regional system...where we have regional premiers and then a president or prime minister...each region will want their own best interests.. and will promote their best hands to lead them... but what we have now is shambolic in some sense... You are wrong, Obi will be another GEJ that will be hijacked by militants this time by ipob even if he's going wrong cos they will accuse other tribes as opposing their son and don't want him to succeed. You guys should please stop seeing Obi as a youth. For christ sake he's also a grand father already in his sixties. Obi is also among the elites class and he can never go against them as president. Don't be fooled when the chips are down he will still choose the elite class over the Nigerian masses. Buhari before 2015 was seen as a messiah of sort and as someone who will twist the arms of the elite in favour of Nigerians but what so we have now, the greatest oil theft happening under his nose and you think obi can go against the elites into this oil theft thing? Like I said before let people make their choice but to point out that one person is different from the rest is the biggest lie of the century. Forget the international community they don't really care about our reputation as their own citizens are equally corrupt if not more. The difference is that western nations take care more of the welfare of their citizens and that's where they are wiser. We here are bunch of greedy fellows and hypocrites forming saints. No Nigerian politician currently will work hard for Nigerians, it's a lie. Regional govt is actually the way forward but the politicians don't want it either from the south or north. They are all lying. No Eastern politician wants restructuring or have you heard Obi said anything in that light, Never. It's all rhetoric. |

kafeii123: Ekiti is locked for APC already... there's still much work to be done in Ogun..Oyo and Osun..but APC is still very strong in those areas too....but you see Ondo...APC will fall flat in Ondo if tinubu doesn't work hard..and I think Akeredolu's appointment may go a long way in fixing that....let's hope it'll work tho..my problem is just that salient fact that this man is too feeble to rule ...plus the fact that we can't keep handing this country to people with links to murderers, money embezzlers and drug pushers... It won't speak well for us internationally..that we are being led by people with identity crisis......andour intelligentsia will bear that scorn over the world that someone with such dark a past...is the one directing our nation's affairs...
What message do we want to pass to the upcoming generation...that crime and criminality can get you into the presidency.... Which correctly functional country has ever had a president with the type of pedigree that some of our current leaders have...how can we expect to move forward...if we keep doing this to ourselves in this country...these are the fears....
If we were running a regional government...will the Yorubas have let someone like Amoda Ogunlere near any government post at all?.... will the Igbos have lowed someone like Ngige...and this imo governor lead them ...will the south south allow ameachi..and an an ex cultist be their best foot forward?.... Rather than just being cabinet members for use in cases that demand such hardness of character?...maybe we should go into 2023 thinking this way...
I believe we've reached the stage where all of those who ever had any direct dealings with the military should be made to take a back seat....it was the military who led us down this path we're now trying to veer off from you guys should stop deceiving yourselves, there is no saint as a politician anywhere in the world. Do you think the politicians in the Western nations are all saints? Buhari rode on the mantra of integrity and we have seen the result. Obi wants to ride too on the mantra of integrity and saving money and you think people will be fooled again? Please wake up, the western nations defining saints for you are all deceivers themselves. Anybody telling you he will not embezzle money in office is a deceiver. No Nigerian politician today including all those who are contesting can beat their chest that they had never committed one crime or the other. Both the Military and the civilians are all criminals who had let us down one way or the other. Also it's an investment by both private sector and the federal government both have their percentage. Those money will be realized through tollgate. PDP government had already invested money for that project and the commuted huge resources so APC government should not be claiming glory for project that was ongoing before the came and invested their portion. It's like you're all sired by the same father and born of the same mother! Just imagine His Excellency Peter Obi becoming president - may God forbid a bad occurrence - then you'll convert all other Nigerians into slaves and confiscate their constitutional rights to free speech and their right to hold alternative views. Oga nothing dey east wey go attract yoruba people there. If there was nothing in places like Lag, ogun and oyo, igbos will not be there in their numbers.
