AlphaUno: This confirms the screenshot. If there is no strong opposition to this move, it will go thru and the UK economy will be the worse for it, as the ripple effect will be on the schools.
A pragmatic immigration policy that will encourage legal immigrants, bring in talents and discourage illegal immigrants is the way to go.
When it’s time to send illegal immigrants to Rwanda, NGOs will carry placards but look away when legal immigrants are impeded thru d means of law.
Presently, there seem to be a dearth of pragmatic politicians who can take the UK out of its present woes. The ones around now are clowns busy doing trial and error. You are very right the quality of leadership in the uk has really dropped, all these small girls like Truss, kemi, braverman have no business in govt. Too low level for a so called advanced nation |

They shouldn't let their anger towards the current government allow them to make mistakes.
They should carefully and intelligently lay out the facts and choose wisely.
Aisha has successfully criticized buhari and she was not killed or arrested...but imagine... their candidate has not even won...they are already threatening.
Nigerians beware... This has always been my concern, the obi project has been hijacked by hardliners. |

Jaycee07: They are not. I agree they are not. But I want you to know how economics work. What drives the Lekki port is importation. Right?? Do you agree? The big establishments like the banks exist and thrive because there are private and public sector enterprises who do business with them. My point is that Lagos and indeed other part of Nigeria can’t live in isolation outside Igbo business. Whether you love them or hate them is a different matter altogether. When it comes to investment, you have to give it to them. Now this is not Politics. It’s realism and truth. And please one more thing: Dont allow hate and bigotry to cloud your sense of judgement. Live your life outside that confined and narrow optics of hate that you have .Even Tinubu recognizes the good that Igbo businesses have added to the revenue generation in Lagos and other south western states. And just so you know, Dangote refinery is where some Nigerian politicians hide their stolen loot. Tribes don’t matter in this. the ports and the banks facilitate those enterprises you are talking about, it's even the banks that lend to those enterprises to expand the businesses so what are you talking about? The Igbos can never leave any vacuum in Lagos, they are very replaceable with Indians, Lebanese, Chinese, and the likes who will be happier to have more room and space for their businesses so you see the Igbos are not indispensable to a global economy like that of Lagos. Tinubu knew that one day he will vie for the presidency that's why he gave you guys some political capital in Lagos, unfortunately, he never knew the kind of people he was dealing with |

Jaycee07: Sir I am not Igbo. But let me ask you a question and I want you to be completely honest with me. If you take out the entire Igbo community along with their investments and businesses in Lagos and other south western states, what do you think will be left of it? Again like I did say, I’m not Igbo. This calls for tight self-scrutiny. I want you to think about what that means if you have a conscience. So the lekki ports, refinery and all the conglomerates in lagos are all igbo investments? |

Thermodynamics: South East and Lagos are part of Nigeria. So therefore Lagos and Ibadan and Delta and Enugu and Kano all belong to Nigerians, including the Igbos and the Yoruba. Lagos is my land as a Nigerian and I have the right to do anything I want to do in my land. No you don't, in Kano with hisbah you can't do what you like, even in the SE you can't do what you like if sit at home is declared. Lagos also has the right to declare what it wants and all residents there must abide with it. That's what justice is all about |

candidtalk: Don't mind them. Lagos leaders are only chilling because of elections. Igbos will face more prescription in Lagos ,going forward, after elections are over.
Rightfully so because they are not the only ethnic group in the state to always be causing Lagos the wahala and nuisance they do. They are becoming seriously problematic and Lagos administrators now realize they have to be checked. Political correctness is the cause of all these nonsense. Am glad with the court order. The Lagos govt acted with tact. It's high time states govt begin to act very indigenously especially the sw states. Enough of all the insults all in the name of a Nigerian living anywhere in Nigeria can do as he likes. It's never true. If some northern states has hisbah because they want to preserve their religion, then other states should begin to implement laws to preserve their unique environment too. It's about time. If some folks can enforce sit at home successfully even on days when children should be in school then any state should be allowed to enforce what they want for their own sanity and peculiar circumstances Lagos state or any south west state should never be an experimental ground for political correctness. That's injustice and he who comes to equity must come with clean hands |

Brendaniel: I know he has good plans, I didn't believe in him before, until I started hearing stories from people who had personal experiences, not from famous people, I mean people even here on nairaland who were in Anambra state during his tenure, then what made me believe their statement more was when most of the godfathers in Anambra said he was a stingy man, if a Nigerian politician calls you stingy then I know that you are doing something that is right that is not favouring their selfish appetite.
That is still why I tell everyone that if APC fields Ambode as their candidate, I might switch to start supporting him maybe after a debate between both of them, I had a politician friend then who always complained during Ambode's tenure that he was a stingy governor that Ambode was not sharing money to them as it was in Fashola, he was most times always broke because he was always expecting money from APC Lagos, at the same time I was seeing Ambode's work in Lagos and I was just wowing , Ambode made Fashola look almost like a joke in just 4 years, that was why when he was removed I wasn't too surprised same way they removed Peter Obi too till he claimed it back via the court... Fashola was equally seen as stingy, the difference is that he created lots of jobs through many implemented programs and infrastructures that boosted the Lagos economy, especially the creation of many agencies through which party members got lots of jobs and benefits whereas Ambode came and merged those agencies back into the ministries and even sacked lots of people, na there Ambode problem start, folks also accused him of high handedness |

Maybe they should try to stop people from bringing in dependants and see how many applications their universities will receive.
