sucess001: Falae is a respected elder stateman but what he is complaining of, he also did to Lagos. Funsho Williams beat Tinubu at the Primaries yet they insisted Tinubu should be governor and Williams should step down. They said they chose Tinubu instead so he can rehabilitate all them old nadeco members who suffered under the military. Lagos has not recovered from that error in judgement.
That's what happens when merit is overturned for other reasons. you are just making assumptions, until someone occupies a post, you can never know how good he will be, na guess work you dey do. |

Nigerian politicians are very bad losers, they simply can't agree losing an election even when they are not popular.
I now know why this man is an immature politician. Even tomorrow Atiku will come and tell us he won 2019 elections awon jokers |

Kennydoc: Lagos is the most populous state in Nigeria and by a wide margin has the highest population density. It has over 20 million people trapped within about 3500km². No other state can boast of a quarter of that population density.
Abuja hasn't failed. It has only been a capital city for less than 30 years. It was a bush before it became a capital city. Also, it's population is less than 4m now. Despite that, it has been attracting lots of investment especially in real estate. You also need to remember that Abuja has no sea ports, so I wonder how much economic activities it can sustain.
Ogun state is receiving overflows from Lagos now. It's very difficult to build industries in Lagos now cos of cost of land. Ogun has enough land and is close to Lagos. The industries can thus be built in Ogun and the products easily transported to Lagos whether for sales or for export. Ogun state simply took advantage of the multi-tax system in Lagos to attract investors and industries to itself. Despite that in my opinion cos am from Ogun state, I still feel the state is not doing well enough especially in infrastructure. In all, every state in Nigeria has one edge it can build upon, it only takes good thinking from those who govern the state. Lagos won't have been making any revenue from the ports if not for Tinubu as governor who went all the way to the supreme court to get an enforcement of the warf landing fees Lagos continues to collect today. Kemi Adeosun as finance commissioner spearheaded the incentives given to industries which attracted them to Ogun state as a result of the tough tax system in Lagos. We abuse some of these folks but we don't know the silent underground work they did for their states in what has become giant strides. You can have all the advantages but with no creative ideas, you ain't going anywhere |

The SE with all their mouth should develop their region and stop giving excuses, you can keep running away from the region and expect ghosts to develop and invest in it, someone needs to lead an agenda there and get to work. We already hear about some efforts in some parts of the region going on so consistency is key to reduce the mass emigration cos at the end, human resources are the greatest resource you need for development |

I think this is a Chelsea syndrome.Always overhyping their average players and club just as they do to drogba A striker that can get just 5 EPL goals a some seasons kanu that never scored a single goal in any afcon lol, should we say he's overhyped too? I think some of us are too sentimental, if you have an attachment to a player, doesn't mean others too haven't done that well either |

Oliseh and his then fellow squad members are just up up there in the sky!
Is it passion, leadership?
There is no comparison.
But Mikel is no doubt a great great player, he was supposed and expected to be our greatest ever player just as the likes of Messi and Ronaldo This is the problem, mikel cannot be like messi or ronaldo. He is simply mikel. We Nigerians just wanted mikel to be what he can never be, can't we just accept the way he is? can we say he is a failure? if he is not then what is our problem actually. club, we say he no good, country we say he no good haba, i tire for una |

mayor1814: It's so glaring and clear that Mikel is NOT among Nigeria's GREATEST PLAYERS. He was fortunate to be in a good team Chelsea, when Chelsea was reigning. Though he was successful in terms of trophies won BUT being successful is totally different from being among THE GREATEST. E.G Silvestre won the world cup. Messi never won world cup.
Silvestre won champions league. Ronaldo of Brazil never won champions league.
So we can see Silvestre was successful but it's very clear n glaring that MESSI and RONALDO NAZARIO WILL ALWAYS BE AMONG THE GREATEST FOOTBALLERS EVER TO GRACE THE GAME OF SOCCER.
meanwhile Silvestre will NEVER be considered among the great players not to talk of greatest players. messi not winning the world cup is the reason you can't go to Argentina and say he is better than maradona despite he has won more individual honours than a Maradona. There is just something excellent about you when you do it both at club and at National team level. And to say mikel is not among Nigeria's greatest means we have to re-define the meaning of a truly great player. Is it by entertaining crowd with yells of eeeeee that makes a true great player? Pls tell me And to say Mikel was fortunate to be in chelsea is a big contradiction since most folks believe chelsea spoilt his career so what is fortunate there |

[/b]Mikel is as well better than Essien in africa since he won both afcon and champions league which essien didn't This is an exaggerated lie and you know it. Sometimes we all forget that even some of the other world class players we celebrate were benched at one or more points in their career, fabregas, mata, ozil, Essien sef etc. talking about essien what impact did he make for his country. too much Nollywood is our problem as we feel if a player is not as entertaining as we like, then he is not good enough. |

Mikel is an example of attaché player. Can't be compared to oliseh at all. Mikel, an attache player? oh no, his achievements in the national team counters whatever opinions anyone has about his chelsea exploits. TheGoodJoe: How is Oliseh far ahead?
Mikel did well in Champions League, FA cups, Multiple EPL big games. A key player in a very successful chelsea and capped it with a brilliant AFCON as a standout player for Nigeria.
So how is Oliseh greater? Oliseh was even in a better Nigerian super eagles that had the likes of yekini, siasia, amokachi, finidi etc. compared to the lower quality of super eagles palyers mikel played with. it's like saying peter rufai was a better goal keeper than enyeama with defenders like uche, taribo, eguavoen, iroha while enyeama had oboabona, omeruo and the likes. major stars like mikel, enyeama are still too underrated by Nigerians. Those fellows are our original football heroes of their generation |

if not for injury, Amokachi would have gone ahead to be the best in his generation, guy had it all; speed, strength and skill. Yekini remains best in that generation cos he's still irreplaceable till now. Oliseh tried but does not even come to close to Amokachie. The likes of mutiu, finidi and siasia can still pull it with oliseh.
Mikel in his generation is the best, if moses had being more committed, he comes close. |

Amumaigwe: @bolded. That is a very hillarious wishful comment. This matter is already settled: unless Igbo gets Yoruba support for presidency in 2023, no greedy Yoruba man will ever get there. You already know how.
The same way Yorubas were "dashed" power partly because of the pressure mounted by NADECO is the same way Igbos must be "dashed" power or IPOB will intensify their campaign. Of course you know the infamy they have caused this administration. It will certainly get worse.
An affirmative action was granted Yorubas in 1999 by the establishment and Yoruba men were intentionally fielded by the major political parties for presidency, supported by the Igbos and Obasanjo was overwhelmingly elected. Such must be accorded Igbos. and who will stop the yoruba man? igbos? una funny die, yorubas were not dashed the presidency, it took the sacrifice of abiola to get it so what are the igbos ready to sacrifice? no free lunch even in freetown bruv. proeast: I don't understand what you mean by Yorubas playing their game well. In 1993, Abiola won an election that was considered to be free and fair, but instead of allowing him to rule, the North used the military to frustrate him. He was eventually killed in prison, same as his wife. That was obviously a bad thing and the North realized that was an injustice. In order to pacify the Yorubas, it was decided that in the best interest of Nigeria, and for peace to reign, the presidency should go to the SW. Is there any special thing the Yorubas did?
They were agrieved and rightly so, and were pacified with Obasanjo presidency.
At the moment, the Igbos are agrieved in Nigeria, and we have every reason to be. Anybody who is not evil-minded knows that too. Had it been the Igbos are a minor group, Nigeria would have got away with it, but we are talking about a major ethnic group here!
Anyone who is observant can clearly see that Nigeria is a very sick country, and it can't survive a major shake-up considering how disorganized it is already. The country is gradually breaking up and injustice against the Igbos is fueling it. The only sensible thing to do now is to look for ways to convince us to stay with Nigeria. what is actually the grief the igbos have with Nigeria? Abiola won an election and it was annulled, if you call that grief I understand but what is grieving the igbos now when an election has not even taken place, is it loosing in an election that the igbos call grief? Presidency can only be achieved in Nigeria thru an election contested and won. The time Abiola won an election, his opponent was not a Yoruba man. The injustice meted to Abiola was a major factor in 1999 elections, agreed so which election has an igbo man contested, won and was denied his victory to warrant the grief that is being talked about. We need to put things in proper perspective. The igbos should not always present themselves as bad losers in any contest, I think the igbos are only looking for some consolation for the loses in 2015 and 2019 but politics is not played that way as it is a contest either won or lost. chiekena. The igbos should not forget that Awolowo contested presidency with shagari and lost yet the yorubas never demanded that the next time Nigeria conducts an election, it must be between two yoruba men. |
